Low rating due to the house chai I got. I asked if it was a latte and was told it has milk in it. It was handed to me in a coffee cup with a paper protector, yet it was room temp. Why not warm? If it cant be warm you should warn the costumer as it was under the Hot Drinks section. Disappointed.
SOOO good! Stopped here after a long plane ride and got a smoothie and muffin. It was so fresh and absolutely made me feel better from the inside out!
Great little cafe. A good menu of organic meals and beverages. The staff working there was so kind and gracious. Yes, Im going back!
Excellent smoothie bowl here. I am not used to SF prices…$13 for bowl and $6 for tea. But I’m sure this is the price you pay for being in the Bay Area! I sat outside in the covered “patio” (street parking turned patio). There isn’t really any indoor seating but it was a nice day. The whole menu looked outstanding. Wish I could have gotten more than one thing!
Lovely little gem in the mission. It’s unlike anything else around. If you can snag a chair in the sunshine, it’s perfect for meeting friends or refueling after a workout. The decor is charming. The price is high, meaning it attracts a trendy hippie-tech crowd, as opposed to catering to some of the locals in the area... and for that reason, I actually think it’s a poor fit for the location. The other reason I am giving it one star less is because the service can be polar opposite. One day, a smiling chatty salesperson, the next, an angry lady trying to get you in and out. From that perspective, I’m less likely to make this a constant stopping point.
My food and beverage were just like I like em - good & nourishing. Sweet young lady for staff.
Pricey and takes good 15 min for preparing an order but always tasty and healthy!
Absolutely delicious organic vegan foods. Great ambiance. Staff friendly and warm. Cant rate this place highly enough!
Super unique cafe. Amazing, health-focused, extensive menu. Tons of vegan friendly items that are also delicious. The vibe is calm, relaxing and cozy and the seating is limited. There’s a little spot in the front with pillows in the window. Recommend going when you’re not in a rush. Delicious food made with love takes time!
This is one of my favorite vegan places! You cant go wrong with anything on the menu -- my favorites are the quinoa bowl, the dal soup, the healthy glow smoothie and the masala cacao bowls. The smoothie bowls are great for breakfast also. The people who work here are great also.
Found this place on a google search and am obsessed!I just got off a flight Sunday and was craving healthy yummy food and this was the perfect place!I called and Max helped me with what to order and modified it the exact way I wantedAnd was so nice! The food was amazing! This is my new favorite place for a healthy meal!I got the roasted butternut squash dish!
Super nice service, Everything is yummy! Cute arrangement
Love the food! Love the look! Wish the staff were a little more friendly though..
Four of us went to beloved on a rainy Saturday afternoon for lunch. While it can feel a bit cramped when you enter, the chill vibe of the place sets the tone. We were all happy with out beverages, I had the green hulk and it was the perfect balance of greens and sweetness from the peanut butter and dates. I had the grain bowl as a main with tempeh which was superb. Everything was cooked to perfection and the tempeh was really tasty. I highly recommend but go with the knowledge it is a small place and takes a bit of patience.
A local friend recommended Beloved when I was in town last year, and when I came back this year, I knew it had to be my first stop when I came in this past Tuesday. It’s such a beautiful and welcoming place, filled with custom wood and and welcoming staff and customers. There’s a huge wall of tea and a simple menu with great, fresh, healthy options.Kate was serving me and absolutely made this my favorite spot in town. She was so welcoming and caring and attentive and knowledgeable, it was incredible. She knew so much about so many of the amazing tea options, and shared so many smart and fun facts and stories about the different kinds they have and cool properties and benefits. She was so sweet and offered samples along with it to me and the other guests, and just made the day of everyone in the cafe for the 3 hours I ended up staying. I ended up with a Quinoa Bowl and a pot of Long Jin which was perfectly brewed every time she filled up the pot with hot water, which was often. She also recommended the carrot cake muffin which capped off my day perfectly. I’m visiting the area and she recommended some other spots and events to check out which is so much appreciated. So far I’ve recommended the place to a bunch of locals and travelers and can’t wait for more people to check out this place and enjoy the ambiance, foods, teas, and the most incredible service.A must stop if you’re in town!
Loved our visit here. Stumbled across this small cafe while we were wandering mission district, looking at wall art. Very chill atmosphere. Both staff members working where genuinely friendly and helpful with menu choices. Beautiful live edge counter top with intricate carving. Healthy options for a snack or lunch. I had a gluten free chocolate brownie and matcha latte, both were tasty and not too sweet. Be prepared to wait a few minutes if its busy, the staff take care to make each dish without rushing. We were told everything is organic and gluten free, and most is vegan. Theyve been open 3 months.
A little pricey but its probably normal for San Francisco. The food is really good and organic. The staff is nice and they have a great cardomom smoothie.
I ordered food to go... this time the stuffed delicata squash, mushroom latte, and oatmeal. Everything looked beautiful and tasted magical (as always). Really kind, thoughtful souls here. The man who took my order over the phone asked me when Id like to come by to pick up so they could time it right and everything would be hot. I thought that was just so nice. Really appreciated the thoughtful service.
I Love this place. I feel good after eating here. I love eating healthy and guilt free
I love everything about this place from the organic delicious food, drinks, teas, the people that work here, the vibe, the decor. It is so inviting and cozy and comfortable. Its amazing to see 4 people work in a tiny space. Everything I tried has been amazing and I feel good knowing Im putting such good food in my body that was thoughtfully put together by amazing people. Ive tried the quinoa bowl which is my fav bc of the chipotle sauce, kale salad, lemon ginger quinoa cheese cake and blueberry cheesecake, mushroom latte(so good!!!), matcha latte, adaptogen ball, morning ritual tea(you can taste all these amazing earthy flavors that work so well that this just might be my favorite tea ever), plus they give alkaline water too! Cant wait to try other things on menu plus when the weather warms up too some of the smoothie bowls and cold drinks too.
Everything we got was excellent. Delicious juices, teas & quinoa bowls.
Incredible smoothie bowls. Friendly staff. Incredible environment. And they have a parklet out front #covidsafe
Terrific, low key place to go if you want amazing tea and cordials. A great alternative to a bar if you are looking for creative nonalcoholic drinks.
💫🙌🔮April 28th 2018 will be a day I won’t soon forget! After taking in an EPIC sunrise from Twin Peaks(among THE BEST sunrise spots in SF) I looked to the google looking-glass for a place to catch breakfast. In the search bar I typed “San Francisco’s most cherished coffee shop”, top of the search results was Beloved Natural Cafe. Walked through the door/portal into another dimension of nutritional and spiritual consciousness/awareness. The sounds on the air were easy on the soul, the food made with logic, love, intelligence, and creativity. The people were kind, all around positive vibrations💗. Beloved Cafe is now one of my favorite places to be... (was later this same day I caught word that Larry Harvey, founder of Burning Man, passed on. Feel like in some strange way maybe he guided me into this mystical little restaurant. Rip Larry )’( )
Food and drinks are sub par and had a Hindu friend ask them to not used traditional Hindu prayers as cafe they refused to change it because the non-Hindu practicing worker claimed was grounding for them. Extremely disappointing that to enjoy healthy you have be ok with your religion being disrespected.
Mushroom latte didn’t taste pure and wholesome, but maybe it was the sub par customer service. Went in yesterday around 11. Wanted a shot of espresso. They don’t have it and I asked how they made their lattes and the woman said regular coffee. What? Weird. Not legit for plant or herbal medicine.
Two stars for what it used to be: amazing. Super healthy food that used to be prepared with care. Now it is the opposite, I have ordered dozens of citrus hazelnut salads from beloved and the past couple of months they have drowned it in dressing, I try to pour the puddle of dressing out of the container but the greens are already oversaturated, there’s nothing I can do.I hadn’t ordered the smoothie in a while so tonight I got a Guilty Pleasure and it was water upon arrival. A few months ago I was obsessed with this smoothie and it was perfect every time. Now the same uncaring new hire that has been ruining my salads ruined the smoothie. I put in the freezer and then tried to drink it after it wasn’t water anymore and the ingredients were completely off.I won’t be ordering from here anymore. I used to love this place, it’s a real shame.I wrote this review hoping the restaurant management would see what garbage they’re shipping out to people.
Everything you want in a satisfying smoothie bowl, salad, or warm cup of an earthy tea. This place is a total gem! Love that it is in this neighborhood and giving folks a healthy option and a zen place to visit.
Love this cafe. The drinks are refreshing but not overly sweet, and the vibes here are so cozy, welcoming, and green. Everyones so sweet here!
Incredible carrot muffin.Very interesting tiny cafe with art, etc on the wall, and menu looks good.
Wow, good things really do come in small packages. Be patient because each dish is prepared with great attention to detail. The flavors are on point. Fresh ingredients. Made to order deliciousness. It is amazing what they whip up in such a tight tiny space. Relaxed vibe, earthy decor, seating is tight and not very comfortable. Mostly wooden stools. Cool world music with the sounds of chopping and the blender interspersed. All in all highly recommend this place. The food really is excellent and more than makes up for the tight seating arrangements.
Beloved Cafe was great! I go often when I am in SF. Organic food and service is excellent.
Love Love! Fantastic, full of flavor vegan food
Slow and unhelpful with mediocre smoothies. Also very expensive. The quality of the ingredients arent bad but its of course frozen fruits so I cant justify paying these prices.I went in there at 3:20 pm and finally got helped at 3:38pm and got my drink at 4:05pm. There were 3 orders before me and 4 staff. I cant imagine what busy looks like for them. The smoothie was refreshing but not as thick or flavorful as Ive had at other places. The lack of sugar was just right though.I wouldnt return for the food or the service. Theyre not rude but just oblivious and slow.
Beautiful and healthy food. This place brings me a lot of joy 😁
We missed this place so much. Used to come here once a week at least.
Everything is great expect for the cashier, she’s very unprofessional and likes to Raise her voice at paying customers. not good at all, that’s why I’m leaving a one star review. She should Appreciate customers in these very hard times
My absolute favorite cafe and eatery in San Francisco! This is one of the places I make sure to show all my visitors to San Francisco. Incredibly enchanted interior. Delicious food and drink!
You can really taste the love
Beautiful, beautiful tea shop. Amazing positive vibes fill this cute little place. I love the decor, very earthy, welcoming and warm. The staff is likewise warm and very helpful. There is a unique story behind each little bit of this place and it makes me so happy. Enriching, positive places are little hidden gems in this chaotic world and Im so glad I found this place :)
This place is magical - everything about it. The food tastes great and makes you feel good while being friendly to your dietary needs. Their wall of teas, spices, and plants really warms up this cute hole in the wall. Its a regular spot for a meal or drink at any time of day!
Wow! Places like the make me happy. Amazing food, all freshly prepared in a tiny kitchen. The whole place is run by two people while I was there... Preparing multiple meals, processing payments and being super friendly and making it a very personal place. On one occasion they even had a bit of leftover smoothie and instead of going to waste they have random people a taster.Highly recommended for people on the healthy trip and wanting a smoothie, fresh juice or oatmeal.
Thanks guys, youre made my day
The stuffed delicata squash is amazing, I would eat it every day if I lived in the city.
I came around 10am on a Sunday morning. There was a line reaching the door with every seat filled. That said, the coffee was incredible! I loved how they served it with a beaker. I was able to get a seat at a table after lingering for a bit. Very sleek, clean aesthetic. Coming back to try to almond macadamia latte!
Literally the best tasting place we found in San Francisco. If you are into: David Wolfe, Tim Ferris, yoga, macrobiotic eating, Eater SF, Whole Foods, vegan, vegetarian, or just healthy eating, you HAVE TO try this cafe!Try the golden milk.Try the smoothie bowls.Try the (lime ginger coconut smoothie.)Thank you guys for showing us an amazing time. Y’all are love 😘
Wow! So happy to have found this healthy gem in the mission! The food and drinks are super nutritious and taste incredible! They use alkaline water, make their own nut milks, and use ingredients that are organic, functional, and fresh! Everything that we had was sooooo good, especially the golden milk! The cafe is super cozy, and does get crowded pretty quickly. It isnt quick to get food, but its worth the wait!
Came here on a Sunday around 12:30pm and there wasn’t a line but the place was already packed. We were told we had to wait 10 minutes before they could take our order as they were running behind and had to catch up. Once we ordered, it took us about an hour to get our açaí bowls...1 HOUR!! The food wasn’t that amazing to make it worth the wait. There are other places that are equally as good (if not better) and takes a fraction of the time to order and get your food.Definitely overrated and pricey for what it is.
So healthy. And the tea selection is top notch. They also test all thier tread to make sure they are safe! It can be a little slow but they make it for you right then. And super fresh. Safe to take your vegan friends.
Been here twice now to make sure the first time wasnt a fluke. Both times the wait staff were rude and unfriendly, didnt really care if you were there. The second star was for the food, as I love healthy and nutritious food and drinks. But cant recommend any higher because its so exorbitantly priced and the portions are ridiculously small.2nd time I was there it was also really, really hot inside, almost unbearable. Not very beloved and not sure whats the deal with all the other positive reviews.
Obsessed with the green detox juice and stuffed squash. Amazing every time!
Excellent, fresh ingredients with a friendly staff. Wish the place was bigger. Still love the cozy vibe when I can get a seat.
I ordered the Golden Milk after seeing the restaurant featured on tv. I made it today with chocolate almond milk, and a spoonful of honey. Delicious!! I feel better than when I drink coffee.
Cute shop, friendly, knowledgeable staff, and amazing food. It’s been a very intimate experience each time, and they always teach me something new about the teas (with samples when available). Not gonna lie, it also helps that it’s easy to get to - right off the 24th Street BART station. 👌🏼
I discovered this place and set up a meeting here Wednesday July 26th, before ever having visited first. For sure, it was a SOLID pick. The staff was friendly and inviting, and helpful in explaining the menu. My red beet bowl was scrumptious and my Morning Ritual drink made me wish I lived closer than 1,250 miles away. Id like to be more like 1,250 feet away. I saw some people walk in and then walk out after looking at menu. Look, its not cheap here, and I suspect this is one reason people walk out, but I will say--coming from someone who doesnt have much money--that its not cheap because quality (real) food is NOT cheap, and shouldnt be. I would rather eat one thing from here for the whole day than a bunch of overly processed, food-like items from elsewhere. Im in Colorado, and looking to visit Beloved each and every time I am back in the city.Note: The person who I met with returned the very next day with her beau to enjoy smoothies and a meal. She now LOVES the place, and is lucky enough to live just a few blocks away. She sent a photo of them from there. How awesome, eh?!
Good place ☺️💕
Just tried this place out since my pregnant wife was craving hot chocolate and what a regret. It took about 15 to 20 minutes just to get it (after paying 10 wasted dollars for this nasty stuff) then once we tried it...holy hell I dont know what that concoction was but it was NOT hot chocolate. Tasted like watered down heated coconut bits or something. I had asked for hot chocolate but I got a disgusting liquid that who knows what was put in it because there definitely was no milk ...or chocolate. Id stay away from here if you are looking for something tasty.
Ive awarded an extra star for serving a plant-based menu and being transparent about the ingredients. The food seems extremely overpriced, even considering the exotic ingredients. The most egregious thing, though, is that the staff have no interest in the customers. No smiles, no hellos, no acknowledgements, and my tea was completely forgotten while my muffin sat cooling in front of me and no one seemed to car. This place is not beloved by me.
The smoothie bowls are ok, but the wait is pretty long and the place is tiny, so youll have to stand for a while if you cant score a seat. They have excellent service, though. They were eager to provide people waiting in line with a glass of water.
Beloved has healthy, delicious, and high-quality food. However, be warned that although closing time is 10pm, they close their kitchen at 9pm most nights. Overall though, its an amazing place with great (though pricey) food and is open much later than other healthy options!
The perfect place for healthy vegan snacks and meals! Everything is made from scratch including their nut milks an coconut yoghurt. The place is tiny though so take out or go outside of peak hours.
Good Desserts, I had a citrus Cheesecake, the crust was made from nuts and the cheesecake was not made from milk. It was good, you should try the Blueberry Lemon-aid. It has a great location and is right down the street from the 24th Bart station. Kitchen closed eary so couldnt try any smoothie or power bowl. But we will be back!
I found this gem whilst waiting for another place to open, but never ended up going back to the other place. The atmosphere inside is unique with a good range of drinks, treats and wholesome meals. I went almost everyday whilst I was in San Francisco and managed to enjoy a good sampling of their smoothie bowls and other breakfast options. If you get a chance try the Morning Ritual, or the Bulletproof Turmeric Coffee (I have mine with Coconut oil instead of Ghee) and dont forget to get yourself one of their Chocolate Bliss Balls
Amazingly clean breakfast with Organic ingredients on a beautiful day in San Francisco!
Very unique flavors and spices in their drinks. I had their hot chocolate mocha with maple and enjoyed it. Definitely part of San Francisco experience. Theyve got a hippie atmosphere.
Delicious food and friendly service. Service can be a little slow, so call in a takeout order if you are in a hurry. For a snack, the red velvet smoothie bowl is fantastic. For more of a meal, I recommend trying the quinoa veggie bowl.
Amaze staff vibes food
This place is so good! Has a yoga studio vibe with great food! The sweet potato breakfast item is such a unique offering!
Overall I enjoyed my experience there. This place has alot of potential. I came in and was lucky to find a spot to sit in the bar. The female employees there didn’t appear too welcoming however. Not much of a hello or a smile. It was busy and I would normally pass not being acknowledged but she took the orders of several people before me even though I sat down first. I ordered the red velvet smoothie bowl. Reading the description I was expecting something more refreshing but it tasted way too much like chocolate. I was expecting for something more fruity. It was waaaay too sweet for me. Regardless I ate the whole thing and after I felt great it was hearty and healthy but I just didn’t like the taste. But It was mostly my mistake i should have taken the “red velvet” hint??And like many other reviews, expect to wait a long time for your items. 10-30 minutes. Perhaps if they just hired one more person it would go slightly faster. Or maybe not since its so cramped in their kitchen already but finding a way to be more efficient and definitely improving customer service. There was a male employee there once who was VERY accommodating and friendly however so it does not apply to all the employees. Just the females that served me that day.
Amazing favors and options. Highly recommended for gluten free vegan options. Nice staff and diligent in their food prep.
The ambience was what drove me into the shop but the wait times and the drink are probably what will prevent me going to this place for a second time. The blueberry lemon-aid was not memorable and the place seemed overpriced as well for the quality and service you get.
I wandered into this place with a friend in one of his last nights in San Francisco. He had never felt at home in this town, finally decided to move back east. But as we walked in, something about this place was magical. It was the first time in months he said he could have been happy here. And I blame it on the turmeric.
Delicious. Everything is made perfectly balanced. Pricey but worth it for the high quality ingredients and great care they take in their food. Better than Cafe Gratitude.
