If you are a bride looking for a wedding dress then RUN, dont walk, to Glamour Closet. It is a hit or miss of what dresses they will have in stock. If you find THE DRESS get it right away. If you dont find the dress, go back in a few months and try again. They have a huge selection of beautiful and unique dresses of all styles. The staff is so helpful and attentive. I had done a weekend worth of dress shopping with my bridesmaids. My first stop was supposed to be Glamour Closet but we were running late getting into the city and missed our window of opportunity to pop in.I came back the following weekend alone and Miguel helped me pick out dresses and try things on. He was amazing! I found THE DRESS and couldnt be happier!
I never leave reviews but I just have to share my experience at this gem of a shop. It was day 1 of wedding dress shopping for me so I was sure I wouldnt find THE dress today, especially after my first stop, which was a traditional, fancy boutique. Im a bride on a tight budget but also really wanted something unique - if youre in the same boat, this should be your first stop (although they also have traditional dresses too if thats your thing!).I was helped by Sara, who made me feel SO comfortable - I was super nervous but immediately felt like Sara got my vibe and somehow turned an overwhelming experience into something unforgettable. I cant say enough about Sara - she really took time with me, didnt make me feel rushed at all, and by the time I left (with a dress!) I felt like I made a friend.TLDR; this isnt your typical bridal boutique - youll find dresses here for prices you wouldnt believe, they really take the time to get to know you and wont rush you out like other boutiques, and the staff is just so friendly. Thank you Sara for making a super nerve-wracking experience fun, and for helping me find a dress I never dreamed Id find!
They dont take appointments. I went right at 10AM on Saturday and was only the 2nd person there. So I recommend going early! Youre only allowed to try on 8 dresses on a Saturday. I didnt like that they arrange the dresses by style, instead of size. This was pretty inconvenient. Theres no point looking through all the racks if only 10 dresses would fit me! Anyways, so I had to look through all the racks. I ended up not buying anything because the dress I liked was a size 12, when Im a size 6. Rule-of-thumb when buying an off-the-rack dress is not to go over 2 dress sizes. The amount of alterations would be too much. I DO recommend this place. The sales people were nice and they had a wide selection.
I had a wonderful experience buying my dress ! Charlotte was super helpful and just a sweetheart. I didn’t feel any sales pressure from the girls which really helped. I was able to relax and really enjoy trying on these gorgeous gowns. I didn’t expect to find my dress so soon ☺️ thank you Charlotte and coworker for making this such a fun experience ! Liza and Ashley thank you 🙏
First of all, awesome customer service. I was just able to walk in and try a bunch of dresses without feeling rushed. They made it super easy to fall in love with their variety of dresses. When I finally picked my wedding dress it was 2 sizes bigger but I was able to get it altered (Tuxedo Wearhouse @ great mall) and it looked perfect. Thank you for being part of this special day! FYI: make sure the dress youve picked out doesnt present many stains or damages. Luckily I was able to wash the one on my dress. Also keep in mind the extra cost for alterations and make sure it will be possible.
Glamour Closet is definitely the place to go if you want a beautiful, high quality wedding dress but dont want to pay full price! They have tons of different styles, the staff is so helpful, and the owner Sara really knows her stuff. The best part about my experience with GC was that Sara/the staff are really honest. Buying a wedding dress is obviously an emotional thing and it may be tough to make a decision. Sara didnt tell me every dress was perfect (as many salespeople would do). Instead, she helped me determine what it even was I was looking for, and I ended up having a much clearer vision after shopping here. I definitely recommend GC to anyone!!
Top designer gowns at greatly reduced rates. High quality dresses for the same price youd pay at a cheaper store. The staff was amazing. Very knowledgeable, patiently answered every question, great suggestions for dresses and veils that I didnt even consider. They really give you time to look, try on dresses, take them off, try them on again, lol. Because of the time and attention, if you go during a busy period you may not be able to get into a fitting room for 1-2 hours. Hi early mid-week or go grab some snacks, beverages in North beach. Or bring a book.Because a lot of the dresses are samples, every dress is different, and there is only one of each dress in the store. Its that one dress in that one size and thats it. If you love a dress, you need to buy it that day, otherwise it may be gone, especially if its heavily discounted. The also means the dresses are constantly changing, so if you dont see something you like, go back in a couple of weeks.
Prices are great, dresses are beautiful, staff are knowledgeable and kind. Recommend going in especially if you are sample size. You might just get lucky and find the perfect dress.
Found my dress here!! I could not have afforded such a nice dress otherwise. The staff were super friendly and helpful in finding dresses in my style and price range.
No reservation necessary, first come first served. Go early on weekends and most weekdays the wait is minimal, if at all. The staff are lovely and honest. Its a great place to start your search, but be aware that there is only one of each dress, so if you love it, be ready to buy... And there are no returns. In case it wasnt clear, they sell heavily discounted designed wedding dresses.
The people who work here were very friendly and helpful! I helped my sister in law choose her bridal dress. We came on a Friday after work and there was almost no one there. I recommend going after work during the week because I hear it gets PACKED during the weekends!
Sold me a dress with the assurance it would be easy to add cups and that a small makeup stain would be easy to remove. Cups cant be added on the thin silk fabric, and my seamstress said that spot cleaning would take the stain out but leave a spot and that dry-cleaning would make some embellishments fall off. Im selling the dress at a loss and trying to find a new dress with the half of my budget that will be left over. Bummed. It was a fun feeding frenzy, but be very careful. They really wont work with you if anything goes wrong or if you were sold a dress with bad info.
I said yes to the dress at Glamour Closet! They have a great selection and the staff was friendly. It is walk in only - which I like because I was only in town for the day - just be prepared for a wait and it may be crowded. My dress retailed for 5400 and I got it for 2100!
I had shopped twice already for my wedding dress and expected to go several more times because I tend to overthink things and I didnt want to spend much at all. I initially thought the store was small but it is packed with all different styles and well organized. The second my sister and I walked in the door, Kelly told us everything we needed to know and let us choose for ourselves what Id try on. I loved that! Then she helped with everything from getting me in and out of dresses, finding belts and even a petticoat that enhances mermaid styles and most importantly, she helped me nix ones I didnt like and feel amazing about the one I love. I did not expect to find my dress that day but Im so happy I did. I highly recommend Kelly and Glamour Closet!
Glamour Closet was by far the highlight of my whirlwind San Francisco dress shopping tour. After a disappointing appointment at Bella Bridesmaid in the morning, my mom and I visited Glamour Closet on a whim before our next appointment. Lucky we did--the store and staff immediately won us over! The store is clean, bright, and thoughtfully organized. The staff is warm, knowledgeable, and patient; sales associate Veronica was particularly helpful. We shopped on a weekday afternoon and had the store completely to ourselves! (Did I mention the floor to ceiling mirrors in the dressing room?) I recommend Glamour Closet to any bride shopping in San Francisco!
Love this place, I’ve gone several times with friends and most recently my friend bought her dress. Woo!
I was with a good friend when she tried on a beautiful and timeless Amsale gown I picked out for her. It had a stain on it, and in the end she bought it for an outrageously low price. She had it cleaned, the dress looked perfect on her wedding day. I had high hopes of being glamour closet bride, but they just didnt have anything that worked for me. To be fair, I am a street size 10, bigger than a typical bridal sample gown size. That limited their selection for me, since you buy your dress off the rack. If you are closer to a bridal sample size then I would highly recommend The Glamour Closet to you. Especially if youre trying to find a dress last minute.
My friend walked in and got a designer dress for $500
Amazing customer service!

Brands include Monique Lhullier, Naeem Khan, Ines Di Santo, Stella York, Sottero & Midgley, Enzoani, Hayley Paige, Claire Pettibone, Justin Alexander, just to name a few.
