I was totally surprised at how clean this place was. The bathrooms and store was always clean and we are here 24hours. Every cashier had a smile and was friendly at both the store and at Wendys. The parking lots of course smelled (it is a truck stop) but there was a gentleman on a golf cart that was sweeping up trash. Overall it was a wonderful stay at this Pilot. Keep up the great work!!!!!

The 5 stars is for the manager, Scott and the staff. The store is clean and staff friendly in the midst of the chaos they have to endure. As any of you know that have been here it is the ONLY fuel around. So, the fuel island is a madhouse!! It wouldnt be quite so bad if ALL drivers had consideration for other drivers and fueled then moved up. We happened to be behind a couple drivers who decided to sit at the pump and spend an hour calling their company to figure out why their card wouldnt work. Well, Scott handled the situation professionally and politely for all involved. Thanks for doing your best Scott and staff to make a chaotic environment as pleasant as possible.

Pilots it is always a good place to go! Very up to date and everything just about, except for the black out that they have been experiencing lately they were closed for few days I guess so, but I have not heard anything else about it! And I havent been around lately!

The Reviews on here makes me laugh! This place is always packed and dirty in and out. There are sooooo many cashiers but can’t get hot dogs on the grill ready and cooked. I suggest that they do some changes and clean this store for all travelers and especially truckers that giving them you guys business.

Plenty of parking, cashier was very nice and helpful. Wendys was slammed busy but got food out hot and fresh. Shower was mostly clean. A towel from previous user hanging behind the door and what little toilet paper was there felt like it had been dropped in toilet. Need a bit more attention to detail on cleaning showers but overall not a bad stop.

This is one of my favorite places to park in the country! It is one of the few places to park a big rig while having downtime in San Diego. I park here often when I wait for a load here and visit my son who is nearby in the Navy. I have never had any problems. It is a safe truckstop, well lit lots, very clean showers, well stocked store, great coffee, amazing customer service, and superb management. Thank you San Diego Pilot!🙂

Hot showers with really good water pressure. $15 and you can take as long as you want within reason

Junior Rodriguez and Scott Minsky are awesome. We visit the surroundig area’s campgrounds now and then with our 5th wheel and they are the reason we always stop in when we are in the area. We are from a couple hours away and this location’s services are always on point.

Parking full of empty trucks and vehicles! Parking is limited at best! For a bid truck stop at 100 pm Start checking trucks that use this location for a dumping ground ! Pleanty of pumps

Good store with freindly people but parking lot has what seems to be permanently parked vehicles blocking spots and the wifi sucks. Aside from about 4 reserved spots, Im as close to the store as you can get and can barely get a signal at all and even that keeps dropping. And when it is connected almost nothing loads because of the weak signal.

April 24, 2018This Pilot is clean, well managed and convenient. It’s also the only major truck stop for 100+ miles around, save for the mom & pop deal down the road here. And that means that my usual complaint of under-design is at the top of my list.Showers (there are nine in total) are well maintained and clean, Wendy’s is a happening place, day or night. Coffee is stock standard Pilot style, fix-it-yer-self, which is trucker friendly, no least.Not so trucker-friendly, is the under-designed restroom, which makes for a scene from a horror movie, early morning, with sights and smells to match. Too much information? Please let Pilot/Flying J Corporate know so they can fix my review and their restrooms.Also, not so very trucker-friendly, is South-Western California (especially San Diego), so I recommend avoiding this area in anything bigger than a grocery-cart, if at all possible. Cudo’s to Pilot / Flying J for building this place in the first place, given the general attitude towards trucking over here.(Yes, I know, I have no idea who really own tis place, but I assume it’s PFJ Corporate, or they have a heavy hand in this)Most people that frequent this place (9/10) speak Spanish and most of them (8/10) cannot speak any English. (Yep, I spent many hours here, courtesy of my dispatch team, to help me establish this factoid) That’s no problem here, welcome to San Diego, CA!

I just want to take the time and write a review for this place. Every time that I have walk in at the pilot travel center I have always got a smile from the employees or the manager. They have always had what I needed when I would travel on the road. I cant say enough about this place and the team that they have working for them in help of making this place grow and putting smiles on familys faces and thats what its about so I want to say keep up the good work and help the familys out there in these times. These people lie to lock up the store. They said they are closed due to a power outage but the power is on. They find different excuses to close up. I think I will call corporate to report them.

Best gas prices in South Bay, full service truck stop. Recommend using app for discounts and rewards. Found this stop by accident when my vehicle was acting up and need a place to stop and check it. Staff is the friendliest Ive ever encountered in all gas stations Ive ever been in the US. When I dont gas up here its because Im too far away or time constraints.

Shower 6 is no good. The water pressure is no good and the water comes out cold. The women that work the morning shift cleaning the showers are disrespectful standing outside my door saying (they already took to long.) I paid for my showers. I did not pay so they can be opening there mouths outside my shower door. Management needs to have a serious talk with those women and its sad to say that they are Mexican women just like me they are not any better than one. 5 thumbs down 👎👎👎👎👎🏃🏃

Lady I asked for a shower was kind of rude and short. Had to wait in queue for a shower that she said would be luke warm at best definitely gonna look for a different travel center next time. Also, almost no one in the store had a mask on.

Hi all. After reading some of the reviews about no hot water in a shower, I was a little nervous to order one. But I really needed one before I get another load going to Michigan. So I came up to one of the ladies that work there and asked about hot water in the showers. She very politely told me IF there are any problems with water, she would place me in a different shower cabin. So I ordered one, it was available right away. Guess what?! The water was burning HOT 🔥 so I dont know who is paying you guys to say negative things about places you going to... or maybe you never even been there from the beginning. So Im a very happy customer 😊 and thank you Pilot/Flying J for giving us the best service out there while we are hauling thousands of miles being away from home.

For the cleanest of the store & helpful staff I give 5 stars. But the up keep, as to maintaining. Locks on showers and bathroom stalls (safety) I give NO stars. I’ve have to come here weekly. For the last few years. They do nothing to keep up on these issues. Also the hot water for showers, to many times it’s as cool as a pool. So you deal with it, because you need to be clean. Is it really to much to as for a hot shower. Towels seems to be fresh, but have to wonder when there is no hot water

Nice showersand they now offer towels. There is a laundry space and also Wendys. Lots of drinks and chips too.

I gave this Pilot 2 stars because it was clean and I liked how big the store was.But I only gave it 2 stars because the music on the fuel island was so loud that we couldnt sleep. We were in the Prime parking which is right by there.We PAID for 2 nights and the first night I just let it slide. Last night I was exhausted and needed to sleep. Needless to say it was horrible. I finally called the store and asked if they could please turn it down. The girl told me she would have her manager do it right away. An hour later it was still just as loud.I called back and spoke to a guy that said he was a manager but he couldnt do anything that I had to wait till 7 am for the General Manager to come in.We left at 8 and the music of course was still as loud.You would think that where we paid for a spot that they would have been more accommodating.I hope that we never have to deliver here again.

Long wait for showers...

For Truck Drivers. One of the WORST Truck stop i have ever been to. Driver leave their truck parked at the pump and go for a long slow walk(literally). And if you call the store to report they simply hangup on you.

I give 3 stars due to an employee named Donna . She tries to tell me what to do as though shes my mother. She looks like shes on meth and always has a bad attitude.

Showers are terrible. Cold water and some have a sewer smell to the them.

The staff here is really friendly. They greet you and try their best to help in any way they can. The coffee island is really good. You can customize your coffee here, I love cookie crumbs in mine. They always have fresh coffee going. The down part is they run out of the breakfast pancake and sausage thing that they grill on the hot dog heat roller. They need more of those out. The gas is decent and if you get their member card which is free you can get 3 cents off, but you need the app and it is worth it cause every week they have awesome specials going on just for you. I have saved a lot of money with that. Another awesome thing is that I have two cards one is my moms, but she can also take advantage of the deals even if I am not with her due to an option of saving the deals to the cards so if you dont have the app on you no problem the card has all the savings.

Pretty busy place, but still ok lots of place to park if u arrive by 4pm, its 7 pm now and still 6 spots I see from my truck shower was ok clean.. Laundry bit dirty I asked them to clean they said yes, one more thing dont hurt to ask I see lots of people come here make complain, but pretty sure dont say nothing inside store, so for next time if u have a problem with shower just tell them no need to be shy

During this covid-19 pandemic, the store was fairly full and almost no patrons were wearing a masks. The restroom was clean but it was full of people without masks. I saw a cashier with no mask. The San Diego County law requires masks in public. This is a private business but they should have a no mask, no service policy, and should be a strictly enforced like most businesses do in the county.

Pilot travel Center is a great place to visit and eat and fuel up ⛽ and its very safe and Shower 🚿 and CLEAN restrooms. Great place to rest and eat. Great Coffee!!!

Great place to stop before heading into Mexico

Nice people, fuel line was busy but moved well. Not enough truck parking, had to park on the street several blocks away. One of only two truck stops in this area. Makes it tough when you are low on hours and there are only a couple of truck stops in the area. The other one is across the interstate, just down the street from the Mexican border.

Terrible customer service

They literally have everything here. Bathrooms are always spotless. Not your 1 stall gas station. There has got to be 30 bathrooms here. Showers also available. You can find from milk to pasta to even socks and clothes. And better yet Wendys is right next door. Free air and water for customers when in flat tire. Customer service is great. Always willing to go the extra mile to help you find what you need.

Excellent experience. Everyone was very curious. I had prepaid for a reserved space. All spots were full. They go right on it and removed the squatters. 5th spot from facility seems to be a bobtail or straight truck only spot.

This is a standard Pilot. They have everything your expecting. The showers were nice, and Wendys let you use there seating even when they close. Plus Wendys has outlets everywhere. The pilot doesnt have tons of parking, but it beats anything else around.

Drivers know its a typical pilot. But good for Pilot-Flying J for getting this facility in here the permit process must have taken years.My advice!? Dont take a load to San Diego if you can avoid it...very truck unfriendly as you can tell by the lack of truck stops or even truck parking ANYWHERE in the surrounding area. Ironic, considering how active the border is

Pilot is the only one of the big companys to have the balls to put up a truck stop over here by the border. A lot of drivers need places like this around here. Parking is tight but fairly large. Dont count on finding a space though because everyone crowds to the only Pilot in miles. It is a safe haven for drivers from around the country because it is like any other pilot .Fast food showers...etc. I am always thankful a taste of familiarity is so far out here. Loves, TA, Petro.... need to get on it! There is money to be made out here and a serious need for us drivers to have these type of truck stops out here. San Diego is extremely unforgiving to us drivers...there just aint no where to park out here!

Nice place

The staff was very gracious to me in my time of need They even loaned me money and donated free food to me and my dog. I want to say thank you to everyone who helped me out because without them I would have surely perished. Now I am back on my feet but I remain thankful to those people at that wonderful truck stop.

This Company Kicked a Driver out of the truck stop at 2am. He was in a spot they say was reserved parking. The spot had no markings or signs.I have since canceled all fuel accounts and banned all drivers from parking or using thier facilities.Flying J puts the safety of all Americans in jeopardy with this policy.

Car Stop and Truck Stop. Has a Wendys inside. Easy access. WiFi. Natural gas pumps. Two truck scales. Lots of truck accessories and food items for sale. A good amount of truck parking, which, can be reserved.

Feels really good in here. Everyone is friendly and calm. The store looks clean. Very nice clean showers. Nothing to complain about. This place is worth visiting.

This Pilot is very slow and the cashiers are very slow I have Never had to or seen a Pilot make you wait and form 1 line to pay or get a shower at the cashiers. 😠🤔😡 This Pilot thinks theyre a bank or office that makes you wait in 1 line when there are 2/3 cashiers. 😡👎😠Anywhere else you just get in the spot with the cashier you choose and check out. Im surprised they dont make you pick a number and wait to be called. 👎👎👎👎The only good thing is they have a Wendys. 👍😉

Busy place, but clean. Not a lot of truck parking, fills up early. Has an above average Wendys. Showers are well maintained.

The staff is very friendly. Its well lighted. There are cameras recording. I feel safe at PT Centers when I travel. The truckers know all the highway patrol traps and the best food dives

Great truck stop, clean restrooms, great staff, good product selection and prices. I would have gave it a five star rating but for some reason they have an outdoor speaker system which played loud music all night. I am a OTR expediter and I stopped there to get food and rest. No problems with the food but was up all night listening to hits of the 90s

Handles on at least two toilets didnt work, no shower head on at least one shower but the water was hot.. yes yes yes hot water.. good service.. fix small issues and I would have rated higher

Got the last parking spot for a midnight grab. The thorough way was partially blocked by trucks but was able to scale by at close range.Place gets completely full at night, and if your lucky enough to find a spot it going to be a tight squeeze.So dont come in late unless you got skills, truckers only.

Clean place . everything u need..one stop shop

Restrooms are dirty, and the parking lot is dirty, with trash cans overflowing and trash on the ground everywhere. That said, staff is pleasant and professional. It is also the best of only two truck stops in San Diego. A sit down restaurant would be nice.

Bathrooms were very clean. Showers also clean but very stuffy. Needs a better fan. Everyone pretty friendly. Make sure you reserve a spot if you are a professional driver, very limited space. Wifi is still horrible! They say it is new and improved but it is not. We paid for it but couldnt get service. Store could not refund either.

Best place to crash towards the border. Worth the 20 ish minute detour from the 5 highway. They have showers, cooked food, fast food, snacks, parking, cameras, coffee, energy drinks, soda, safe and friendly staff. They are kind of cool with using it as a rest area. Gas is a bit pricey but worth it for convenience. Im a white female solo traveler and I felt super safe here. Wendys. On site. Self service gas (sorry Oregon and jersey). Cheap showers and bathroom access better and safer than hostel and not too far from border. For a truck stop it is very clean. Best place to crash for a nap and wait out traffic towards the border! 5 stars all around.

Nice people and very helpful. I was awakened at 03:30 by loud music from the truck parked next to me. I called inside and someone came out immediately and had him turn it down. Much appreciated!

So much for a 24 hr Truck stop. Wanted to sit down and have quick meal with my WIFE.The cashier at Subway said we couldnt because the section with the high chairs was open. I had to get a cashier from the Pilot to intervene.My WIFE is 52 to ask her to sit in a taller chair is an insult.

#4 shower stall is for Handicap people... I am Handicap. There has always been a bench to sit as one showers. This PAST MONTH... NO BENCH..!!!!! Now. I pay the $15 for a shower.. But No Bench. When is that getting fixed.? 🤔 I would hate to fall.

After reviewing the location of this pilot Im changing my star rating from 3 to 5 as I recall I visited there this past November around the second week and at this visit I was not driving a big rig but I was driving a Penske Rental Truck I came to get a lightweight and the process was very efficient I returned loaded later and got a heavyweight and gasoline and bought a few items in the store which was very well supplied with all of the usual snacks and condiments for the big road ahead..

So clean. Very busy. Cashiers everywhere

Its a okay spot for truckers, wish they would of placed the fueling pumps further in the truckers driveway or made the driveway wider.. Sometimes it can take a while to get in or out.. Other than that the customer service at this location are on point clean restrooms, actual hot coffee which is a plus ( been to some places and its warm ) lots of snacks and lot lizards ( just kidding )

Rude cashiers they dont great customers unless you speak to them in spanish they will take your money and give your change without saying a word.

Shower has barely warm water. Shower area not clean. Sadly, saying anything to management is pointless. Not really sure why this is even a big branded company. Store is cluttered floors sticky. And yet, they sale food..
