A family owned grill for over 12 years now. JR’s Grill brings the family to work for the community. Thriving in its current location on 601 pacific highway, JR’s has opened a secondary location close by. The second location residing in the beautiful Embassy Suites Hotel that sits beside its original building. Which only adds to the family, adds to the community that surrounds them. A second location that close; well, that is something that tells you the community is grateful for them to be there.Personally I visited this grill; at some points, three times a day. Perhaps it was for the food, or perhaps it was simply for the hospitality, the family and now friends that turn the wheels of commerce each day at this wonderful eatery.If you are in need of a place with a great breakfast burrito, or a lunch spot with all the fixings, no matter what your pallet is saying to your hungry belly, you’ll find a home at JR’s grill. It’s great people, great food, and a great part of the community.

Good people, more option and cheaper then the 711 around the corner. Solid food nothing special but worth it. French fries are good.

Had a gyro sandwich it had plenty of meat and good condiments, nice guys both at register and deli, price as expected for the area. Picture is for half the portion I was on a fast lunch break.

Ripoffs, Ive gone in there 4 times this past week & bought the same 6 pack of Mikes Cider & paid $11.99, $13.16 total all 4 times, I go in there today and all of a sudden its $15.16, I asked the cashier hey isnt this $13.16, $11.99 before tax? Ive been in here several days before and it was $13.16 total, she snaps back No its $15.16, $13.99 Then rudely says You dont want it!BS - Ripoffs & RUDE, WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN, JERKS!#VETERANS @GoHireAVet @CBS8

Great sandwiches!

My experiences here have been great. This place is more of a combination deli and 7-11. The young woman who makes the sandwiches does a fantastic job. They are really good and good sized also. She has a great sense of humor. The gentlemen who work the counter are quiet but efficient.

Gyro plate is bomb!!!! They were shaving the lamb right there so you know it’s fresh!

Super friendly staff, so glad they started doing hot food because its SO GOOD! Convenience store prices on the store items but the food prices are on point and you should definitely try the food! Started going here for lunch because I worked in downtown and fell in love with the Chicken Kabobs. Sandwiches are good too but I love the new hot food. Theyre also really quick, only takes a few minutes for them to prepare any item on their menu.

Best one stop shop in Downtown San Diego!. Their chicken shawarma plate is my favorite but all their food is on point. Check my photos I will update regularly. They have a great beer and wine selection along with all the convince items you might need on the fly!

Very convenient to where i live, this little liquor store/bistro/grocery/drug mart is perfect.

I am a VERY picky eater and have always hated hummus. I was talked into getting their kefta with rice and hummus and I am in love. I work across the street at cheesecake factory and will ignore our food and my discount just to get their Mediterranean food.

Nice convenience store; however, I asked for a napkin after buying a soda from them and the gentleman told me no and was not polite. They clearly had napkins but were not willing to give me one.

This place is sooo shady and grossly overpriced!!!! I bought a macaroni salad that was spoiled and they wouldn’t refund me my $4 because I returned it a “half hour later” when I went to eat my lunch and realized it was bad. They said if you leave the store you can’t return anything, even if the food is rotten, which I came to find most of the dates are expired in that place anyway.Even worse, the markup on everything is at least 50%. Several items don’t even have prices....they make them up as they go...super sketchy.Don’t waste your money at this scam artist establishment!!!

Hidden gem. Chicken Shawarma, spicy hummus, toum sauce, and tabbouleh... very delicious meal. The store is clean and the service was excellent.

Staff was very friendly even the sandwich guy. The Reuben was fantastic! Sandwiches are great everything else is pricey but it is convenient.

Weird staff. No one says hello. The guy behind the deli is a douche and makes you feel your really annoying him when you ask for a sandwich. Not a welcoming place at all. The older gentleman is a nice guy though. Only positive thing about the place.

I actually like this place and would give it 4-stars if it was not for this one rude employee a Hispanic man that makes sandwiches he is always rude to me and my roommate for reasons we dont know.All the other employees are nice and respectful to their customers

The sandwichs here are good but the staffing is horrible. The guy behind the deli counter never makes the sandwich as u request it. He treats you like hes doing u a favor but making the sandwich. Very rude..

First time ever coming here, subs were good but the employee making the subs was rude and in a hurry, business was slow no lines what so ever, was asking me if im going to order or not, I shouldnt have bought anything but I was hungry and in my break, I wouldnt recommend this place for lunch.

1. One of the cooks was extremely rude about COVID masks shortly after SD relaxed its mask mandate2. Cashier tried charging me a six pack for only ONE soda can and another item.3. I discovered mold on the soda can near the lip area just before I was about to buy it.Never going there AGAIN!
