I had an unforgettable experience at The Dress Theory in San Diego and would highly recommend this to any bride! Not only is the shop so beautiful, but the staff is top notch. Im so grateful to Megan for her kindness and attention to detail — I ended up with one of the dresses she picked for me! She helped me navigate my first bridal dress appointment (ever!) with ease and helped me successfully find exactly what I wanted in just one try. This is a memory I will never forget and makes the wedding planning process that much sweeter. Thank you again, Dress Theory team! So excited to pick up my dress later this year!

OMG! CUTEST little (but like also big) shop! Super Covid safe, and wow did I luck out with the sweetest and most attentive consultant ever, Megan! I was having an issue committing to dresses but Megan never made me feel bad and let me know one of the designers I loved the most had new dresses coming soon! Every dress she pulled really kept my preferences in mind, and Im so grateful for her assistance! She was super sweet and just overall made me feel great in every dress. I loved the privacy and elegance of the space and the range of high end amazing dresses they have. I am so excited to go back next month!

WOW! I’m so glad I went to The Dress Theory and found my dress! The shop has an incredible selection, and Megan was an absolute dream to work with. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable about all the beautiful dresses I tried on, but she was so kind, upbeat, and understanding! And she pulled AMAZING accessories. I’m so bummed! I was so looking forward to my appointment, studying the dresses ahead of time as I booked a month in advance. Only to find that they wouldn’t honor medical mask exemptions and violated HIPPA privacy policy by invasively inquiring about past medical history. I’ve had several dress fittings at other shops and have never experienced discrimination like this. My hope and prayer is that they would overcome their fear mongering and allow humans to be free and brides to try on dresses with their beautiful faces showing and smiling. They lost not only one sale but I will be sharing this experience on my platforms with my audiences. side note: Ive never left a negative review for any place on here, but this one warranted it.

This place is absolutely amazing and they have the best staff. My stylist was Shannon and she was such an angel. I had so much fun there we went well over our appointment time. Their dresses are bomb, but theyre definitely not for your average bride, its for the bride who wants something a little more special and most of them have a bohemian vibe. I went dress shopping at 5 different stores and by far this was the most accommodating, kindest, and they had the best selection. They made me feel great about myself but I could trust that they were being honest and not just trying to make a sale. I felt like best friends with everyone in the store and it was amazing to experience.

This a horrible place!! A friend of my daughter recommended this place— and she said they weren’t the nicest but, a good selection of dresses. So, we went it was so appalling how they treated us but, especially my daughterThey made us wait outside over 45 minutes while they helped out another bride. Which was ok, but let us know we then get in and the first the lady said was I don’t think we have what you want! Well they could of called!!! They made my daughter cry she was so upset! I was furious but kept my cool! I wish i hadn’t she cried for 2 days. She found a dress but, I had no intentions of making a purchase with them!!!!SAVE YOUR TIME I WOUKD NEVER SUGGEST THIS PLACE!!!AWFUL!!!!!

I really loved the dress I bought and spent a lot of money on the dress. The girl that helped me find the dress was really nice.However, Bridal Theory sized me at a 2, my weight has not fluctuated at all, and when the actual dress came, it was way bigger than the one I tried on.I now don’t have time for the alterations I need and am stuck with a dress that’s a size too big.

Megan was so kind, patient, and friendly to me and my group. No pressure to buy and even squeezed me in the next day to let me try on my dress one more time before committing! I had a great experience at The Dress Theory and will cherish my time there with my family for a lifetime. I cannot say enough good things about The Dress Theory! It was such an amazing experience thanks to Rhiannon. I was so nervous to try on dresses, but she made it so fun and comfortable and easy! I ended up getting the FIRST dress I tried on, but we still tried on 6-8 more. Just like the experience, the boutique is a dream as well. We even had some champagne and teared some happy tears after finding my dream dress This was our first store and last store and I wouldnt have had it any other way! I LOVE my dress and The Dress Theory.

This review is based on a Maid of Honor perspective and how happy my friend is. After a horrible experience at Davids Bridal in Mission Valley I decided to book this boutique for my best friend. The store is quaint and romantic. I wish I remembered the girls name that helped us because she was so wonderful. She was welcoming and so helpful. She immediately asked the bride what she was looking for and pulled all the dresses she thought she would like. She asked all the right questions and she was very informative. By dress two the bride found her dress! With her wedding only 5 months away she made the process so painless and easy. She setup the order and took her measurements promptly. Not only was I blessed with an easy bride, the whole process for picking a dress was stress free. The Dress Theory should be every brides first stop for a dress.

After trudging to four other wedding dress shops, my daughter​ bought​ her gorgeous​ wedding dress in less than an hour at The Dress Theory. When she returned to try it on, it fit like a glove with minimal ​​alterations​. Madisons expert help and sunny spirit made the whole experience everything a wedding dress shopping adventure should be!

My daughter found a dress at this boutique approximately 2 months prior to her elopement. The dress was not inexpensive and understandably there was an additional fee for the rush order. Measurements were taken at the time of ordering the dress. When the dress came in, it was a size 8 and my daughter is a size 4. The dress was ultimately too large and the staff explained that wedding dresses can be 2 sizes larger, which makes no sense. Her weight had not fluctuated to a size 8...she is a very small young woman. The dress had to be altered considerably, which was another expense of $600.00 because of the amount of work that needed to be done and the short time frame. Staff state they explain to all the brides-to-be that this is a possibility and that alterations will most likely need to be done when the dress comes in. They also state that they tell the brides that alterations can be up to $500.00. My daughter does not recall that specific details of alteration costs and sizing were explained. Perhaps they were, but she was more excited about her dress. I do feel that the details were most likely not reiterated.I am disappointed with the entire experience and feel as if the wool was being pulled over our eyes by the staff. It felt as if they were explaining the situation away with questionable reasoning.Her dress ended up looking beautiful on her and the wedding was perfect. However, when a bride and her parents (who are paying for the dress) have this experience, it leaves a negative feeling about the wedding dress experience!

I am disappointed that I bought my dress from this deceptive store. This all happened one week ago and I am still livid. If it was possible, I would return the dress and get my money back. I went to try on dresses there twice, once with the representative from Flora (the brand of dress I did buy). My party of 3 other women and myself were told that this brand takes 12 different measurements so it fits. Also that if you get the height of your shoes to them in time then they can even make it the right length. One would be lead to believe that this dress should fit your body with just a few minor adjustments or at least just as well as the sample. This was not the case. Things they NEVER told us:-They take those measurements to find the closest STANDARD size-They want to know your heel length so they don’t make it too short-The samples are already altered so that they fit great when you try them on. They literally never said a word about this.Of course we didn’t know to ask these questions or that a company would omit so much important information. The entirety of this process has taken all of the joy out of picking a wedding dress and I want to save everyone else from this major disappointment and frustration.In addition, DO NOT USE THEIR IN HOUSE TAILOR. She technically does not work for them, but she works in their store. She was rude, awful and annoyed at every little question we had. Every time we asked her to fix this or move that, she said “it’s just the dress, I can’t do anything about that”. It’s literally her job to do that. I can’t believe that she is one of their tailors they recommend. I had my first fitting last Saturday and I am still livid, disappointed and devastated at how much The Dress Theory deceived us and at how rude Karen was.

This bridal shop is unlike any other Ive been to and at this point, Ive been to more than 6 of them. I got my wedding dress from a bridal shop in Los Angeles and the alterations completely ruined the dress. I frantically came to the open house at The Dress Theory and absolutely LOVED their selection of dresses. They were also extremely helpful in this stressful time. I saw a dress I loved and they let me come in the next morning to quickly try it on even though they were fully booked. I cant express my gratitude enough for how helpful Shannon was. My original bridal shop had the same dress so they offered to give me store credit toward it for my previous mishap, otherwise I wouldve FOR SURE said yes to the dress here. I love that its in a cute yellow house so you really feel at home and comfortable when trying the dresses on. Ill definitely be telling my friends to go here first when finding a wedding dress.

Great selection of contemporary designers and some I hadnt heard of. The woman helping us selected some pretty good options based on my friends style. The interior was super cute but the exterior was a bit confusing - I thought this shop was on the more modern side so I was surprised to realize this worn yellow and red craftsmans was the new location. But I guess they spend the money on the inside making that space beautiful!

Love love love this little boutique!! Found my dream dress here and just picked it up today. I cant say enough positive things bout the amazing experience I had here and their dress selection is really second to none if youre looking for non traditional bohemian gowns.
