I love this place so much. My favorite art store in San Diego. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful and they have very unique supplies. Today they hosted a free Tye Dye workshop. Its was adorable!

Love the staff! Everyone was so awesome and nice. I didnt need help finding items but I over heard others getting advice and product information for their art projects or starting artist. They were playing great late 90s music like Deftones, System of a Down and Tool. Loved it!

A great art supply store in the heart of Hillcrest. Their inventory has something for almost everyone. The store is also just a nice place to visit.Parking is the only downside during busier times.

The storefront is very nice. Even though they didnt have what I was looking for, the staff was helpful and courteous.I would have liked to have been able to spend a bit more time than I did checking it out. Alas, my trip was a quick one for something specific and my paramour was with the car at a.convenience store across the street, filling up. Heads up that parking in Hillcrest can be troublesome.

Customer service is nice. FYI If you make cards out of your own material, they dont have plain envelopes to purchase unless you buy the box of premade cards. :( Cool store overall

Great selection ...but you pay for it

Sometimes I just go in to soak up the artistic vibes. To marvel over the possibilities of fresh paint, big canvases, inks, pens toned papers... And there is a terrific collection of rare, fun toys and tools, for artistic kids, or young adults. Find a unique gift or just buy for yourself.I have a pen with a cats head. A cup with Mr. Rodgers whose sweater changes color when filled with a hot drink.There is a lovely feeling of surprise down every isle.

I came to this art supply store because Blick’s didn’t have the paint brushes I needed. To my surprise, this story is large and very well supplied. It’s like eye candy for any artist. A sakes associate assisted me right away. I’m not from this area but I will shop here again when I come to San Diego.

Awful experience in this store this weekend. They continue to enforce a mask mandate though the state has rescinded the mandate. The store workers shrilly announce the supposed mandate to each customer who enters the store: Please spend your money elsewhere until this store is able to understand the current state mandate.

As far as service goes, the people are great! Materials are expensive but vwry good quality. Somewhat disappointed in the DIY canvas section (few rolls, expensive and limited options for stretcher bars) but great paint and brush selection.

Wow. color in every form and medium i could think of or hope for. not sure if its expensive or not (dont buy art supply often) what i could easily deduct is that if a person is serious about there craft and need supplies this is a good place to start. they even have stain and finish (small selection) and that surprised me. service was nice just snooty enough to have that artist feel to them. also... one of the very few stores where i was allowed to shop with out ppl watching me or asking me if they can help me find something

Nice location, convenient parking in the back of building. Product shortage on watercolor paints and brushes. Not as big a selection.

If you can paint it, carve it, frame it, canvas it, oil it - then look no further. This place has it all...then some. Free parking around back!

I love this place, it is larger than it appears, and you can find everything you need for a great price. They offer student discount which helps out a little bit too. I will definitely be going here for all my art needs from now on.

Best quality and always in stock items make this my staple store and the only one I think of when I am out of or in need of supplies. Two buses and a three hour commute are what it takes me to get there and back. I will always end up here. My to go place for all artist supplies

This store isnt in the best spot for parking but this store has a huge selection of art supplies. Im an art student and I got most of my supplies from one visit. A few things were out of stock. Will be coming back again to get more good deals.

This art store is a shining staple of artist life in San Diego, as well as a landmark of Hillcrest. Many mornings before work, Id head to the art store and just look at all the possibilities inside there. Paper, pens, paint, finger puppets, postcards, paintbrushes. Plenty!

Went in for some watercolor paper and the staff were friendly and directed me where I needed to go right off the bat. Love this place! Also love their student discount!

Love this art store! So far I’ve only gone for paint and additives but their selection is huge. Bought a couple jars of the Jacquard Pearl ex powder (powdered pigment to add a metallic sheen to flat paint) and I really like that this store has the large individual bottles. All other art stores I’ve checked so far only sell the little sample packs and I don’t have any use for most of the colours the packs come with.It’s in Hillcrest so parking can be a little tricky but they have a small alley behind the store with free customer parking.

So sad this place has gone so downhill. Not like they were ever “friendly” here. “Tolerant yet irritated” was their standard attitude towards customer service. Now it seems more like “harass and destroy” is their attitude. You don’t need to see a naked face to hear vocal intonations of distain or eyes shaped like daggers. Around every corner they watch and snicker.Comments like “if you read the fine print....” aren’t helpful when asking about comparing different chemical recipes of competing brands. The know-it-all attitudes don’t match up to the unanswered questions. You can spend $1800 here and still have trouble leaving with a smile. Thank god for Blick.

This is a cute store. Its not in part of town I like to drive in but theres parking in the back which is always a plus!I went here for an origami project and they had lots of great paper to choose from. Definitely a more stylized setting than Blick but a great store nonetheless.Will definitely go back here, felt like less of a trek than getting to Blick for me.

Perfect for arts & craft supplies for small projects! This is my go to stop when I want to craft together a prop for a game, nestled right in the middle of Hillcrest!

This store is good for artists but not so much craftsman. I was able to find mechanical drawing pencils and lead which I did not see at micheals and an amazing variety of brushes. But for my amigurumi hobby there were no safety eyes, no stuffing, and not a large selection of yarn. This store is good for sculpting, painting, drawing supplies mainly.

I cant say enough great things about artist and craftsman supply. Best place to go to buy mechanical pencils. Love their minimum packaging products and their selection of pens and paints for little kids while youre taking care of kids during Covid is awesome

My go-to for my paints and supplies, they USUALLY have just what I need, but sometimes I want something out of the ordinary, and several times Ive been quite surprised, and theyve been able to accommodate me. Great place. Excellent prices.

I am just getting into India ink art and went in to artist and craftsman supply and the folks there were very helpful, the supply was wide ranging and Im really excited. Go there for all kinds of craft stuff, quality is high and prices are competitive. Cant beat the experience online for sure👍

I use at supplies for my work and I needed professional quality that is suitable for my needs and affordable. They are invested in quality products and service. If they dont have an item, they will order it or guide you somewhere that does. Staff is knowledgeable and wonderfully friendly. I drive out of my way to come here for supplies, but its worth it.

Awesome art and craft room supply store. I spent a long time browsing the store. All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They carry a wide variety of quality mediums, surfaces and tools to make whatever art you want. Well. I dont think they had stone blanks for stone sculptors or metal and welders for metal sculptors but they did have the supplies to make scale models.

Amazing selection, very capable staff, the best prices around. We had no trouble finding reasonable parking, the store is wonderful for browsing & getting new ideas. Employees are helpful without being condescending, & dont hover. What a gem. Im so glad we found this place. Itll become a must-stop spot whenever we travel to San Diego!

A very nice arts and supply store. I would recommend it. I love coloring and they have a lot of coloring pencils and a lot that you can buy individually.

I enjoyed this place, it has a super indie vibe with discount store items and the cutest little decorative finds. I bought a few paint brushes here and canvases for an art class. The canvases were bundle I four in the size 12 by 24...at 20$. I also purchase tiny animals here for a 1$each. There cool looking because of their tiny details and good quality. There service here is fair and they do have special events outside the store.

This store is filled with stiff for people of all ages. Not just art supplies, but craft supplies as well. I was pleasantly surprised at the availability and prices of the supplies. The store has given me a lot of inspiration and I cant wait to go home and create.

This is a very cool local shop with friendly, informed staff. They have lots of calligraphy supplies in addition to paints, paper, canvases, and even some fun little gifts (toys, games for kids). Its a great place to browse.
