My wife and I were walking on Houston street we are local San Antonians and local business owners and decided to stop by the store we noticed store closing signs upon entering no welcome in from the two employees they were just glued to their cellphones thats fine... we were looking at different light fixtures we wanted to gift one to my in laws for their newly built home foyer entrance my wife was sending pictures to her sister to see which she felt her mom might like better then one of the employees said no pictures in a rude demeanor A paying customer was lost that day for them A shame such beautiful work on display but the worst customer service we left immediately can see why the store is closing such a bad vibe in the store. With all the friendly people in San Antonio and the downtown area glad to see them on their way and make room for deserving businesses that fit in with the locals
This is a great Store. Very unique. We bought a beautiful lamp and the shipped it to us. Very nice and helpful people. I recommend at least going in to look around.
Absolutely beautiful store. Gentleman are very nice and accommodating. Have made trips all the way from Corpus to just come shop here. Thank you for your hospitality.
My wife and I happened upon By Hand Bazaar Istanbul last March. She lived in Turkey and was excited to see the beautiful and colorful handcrafted items, especially rugs and pottery. Living 300 miles from San Antonio, but visiting S.A. 2 or 3 times a year, we wanted to purchase a rug, but knew that we needed to look at the selection and then be certain what would fit our room. The store is staffed by men from Turkey. We spent considerable time looking at sizes, colors, and motifs of rugs so that we could decide when we went home and plan to purchase on our next trip to SA. It was fun talking with the gentlemen in the store. They were very helpful and not overbearing. So, last month we returned to the store and bought the perfect rug for our dining room. Getting information about rugs and haggling, which is expected, was actually fun, almost like visiting bazaars in Turkey. They provided Turkish coffee. The experience lasted more than 1 1/2 hours, but was enjoyable. If Turkish goods interest you, By Hand Bazaar is the place.
So much enjoyed our visit, which wasnt planned but the storefront was so enticing we just had to go in. Everything was just beautiful and prices were good, especially when you consider that items are handmade. Good multiple purchases discounts too; we got two lampshades and got quite a bargain. I recommend :)

I had an excellent experience earlier this year buying a rug from the shop. The owner was extremely helpful, and the store itself was absolutely stunning.
