The team at J&R Tile did an excellent job and were just in time fitting my project into their project schedule. I would not hesitate to recommend them or utilize them again on my next project. The work at my home was more than cosmetic, it was also about functionality to enable me to care for a disabled, wheelchair bound family member. I had one shower remodeled to raise the step in shower to become a zero entry shower. They also removed carpet from all bedrooms, living room, and office and replaced it with a resilient LVT knowing the flooring will need to withstand daily wheelchair and rolling home care equipment. They were helpful and easy to work with from start to finish from scoping to design to samples and to installation. They were on time, courteous, kept clean work areas, and had attention to detail.

If I wrote a book about this project it would start with rage and panic over the contractor who ditched me a month before the installation of a publicly funded project.Enter a kindly architect who recommended J & R Tile. Then magically appearing and calmly and professionally dispelling all my fears, came Linda.We can do that.No worries. She handled every hand-wringing moment of a panicky, freaked client with utmost care and attention. Communication? check! Information? Check! Does what she says shell do? Double check!!! Next came Adam and Zeke: excellent craftsmen, skilled and in every way professional. They were confident, efficient, respectful to the materials and the client, AND good humored, they created something where there had been nothing. They installed a complex, four- walled art installation with close to 1000 unique, hand painted, irreplaceable and individually numbered tiles in 2 and a half days. Not a single broken tile, not a single tile installed upside down. Perfect! The end.

Outstanding job! Great attention to detail and everyone from estimating to sales to the installation crew was very professional and courteous!

They are very professional in every way! Meticulous with work and making sure their customer receives an exceptional job.

Was amazingly helpful in diagnosing the problems both with the installation of shower, tub and backsplash tile by the contractor who built our house. We say many (8) large, several inches in length, crack in the master shower, and smaller cracks in the two tub surrounds. When Erin Arbrecht at JR Tile inspects it, she observes that there are no movement joints, and shows me where in the code these are described and that these are required, and why. She explains that without flexible movement joints, these cracks will likely get larger but that cracks elsewhere with the same problems, like at the kitchen and counter backsplashes will eventually do the same. Not now, but down the road, long after the contractor is off the hook.Erin, with our approval, uses a knife to check places where there is caulk where tile and other surfaces or corners meet, and she finds several where there is grout or tile itself flush with with these corners and caulk has simply been put on top of, not inside, the space. So those will crack, and those cracks may or may not stop in that small space covered by caulk. But that in her experience, and that of other professionals at JR Tile, these cracks will grow over time and be unattractive and structurally unsound.When I ask whether part of the reason the shower and tubs are cracking now is because greenboard was used behing the shower. And when I show her pictures that so no vapor barrier was placed between the mud/lath and the greenboard—which she’s shown using Building codes and Tile Association standards is the only time when a porus greenboard can be used in a wet area (even the maker of this greenboard states it can be used this way under older code (and cannot under new codes) but that they have other, cementboard products and even sheetrock types for this purpose.She also observes that the wire mesh used for the mud and lath is not continuous from one side of the shower to the other, leaving a gap in the wire, she is particularly concerned. And she explains why.There were other ways that the tile installation was done improperly or not up to quality or professional standards that really helped us understand what was going on and what had gone wrong. But her assessment and prescription for what needed to be done—which JRTile did not do a heavy sale one because she viewed her role at that time time, during that visit was diagnostic and part of a site report she wrote. Not until we asked for a quote from JRTile did she write that up.In the end, ultra professional. Amazingly reassuring. Consummate professionals.
