CAREFUL! The cashiers will charge you different amounts for the same items. On 02/19 two different transactions for the same items (30 count eggs) were charged two different prices ($4 and $4.99). I also got a picture from someone else showing a price tag of $4 meaning the cashier charged $0.99 extra dollar in one of the transactions. I did not check and only compared until someone told me the correct price was $4. Please be CAREFUL and always check your receipt. It might be only a dollar but its money we earned working. Dont let them keep your money.

Place was super clean everything in order. Not to crowded and cashier was handling her clients very well. Very famuly oriented atmosphere

Meat was okay. Service was slow instead of helping the customers they were just talking laughing with each other.

Manager Alejandra is rude.Did not even want to speak to customer with a complaint. I had to go outside and call on the phone to speak with her because she didn’t want to come to the register.Buyer beware they switched out honeycomb menudo for regular menudo and up-charged by placing a sticker that says honeycomb.When told that perhaps that it was a mistake she said they don’t make mistakes. I asked if I could switch it out for regular menudo and she said no since I already touched the bag that they would have to throw it away since COVID is around. Mind you they told me to return to the store to get it taken care of. So I asked if there was a corporate number or anyone else I could talk to, she told me there is no corporate # and I could call Monday and speak with Victor the owner. She laughed when I told her ok that I would call and speak with a manger above her or the owner Victor and said sure.We have previously purchased honeycomb menudo from this location and have never had an issue. Today was a 1st incident we have had. This will be the last time I visit any Culebra Meat Market and will let all my family and friends know about this mishap. I know one person doesn’t make a difference but to their sales but hopefully it will help someone else.

Yesterday i went and i bought 3 reeses cups and they only put 2 in my bag bought a bag of chips that were expired and today i went again to buy barbacoa and they gave me the nastiest barbacoa ever. Thinking maybe the owner doesnt care anymore

Ive seen better stores, store needs to be renovated, store has to be more customer friendly, entrance should be less crowded, and meat market needs to work on packaging your meat products, not leaving blood outside of your bagged meats, sloppy. The outside area is trashy at times, parking lot needs to be redone. Some one mentioned that do great with service in the meat department, I have to contest that, there are health code violations there and somehow are not being reported. I do like they breakfast there but they need to get more organized, not very quick on orders and some orders not correctly made. Cleaning areas, tables not done and salt and pepper shakers very dirty. Not one to touch everyones business then eat with those same hands.

This place is awesome, its your convenience store and this place has the best barbacoa Ive ever eaten, and the breakfast is real good too. Prices are cheap and reasonable. Breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. Its got everything u can possibly need. But if you get a chance to stop In on the weekend order a barbacoa taco. You wont regret it

Please do not buy Tamales from this location! My husband bought a dozen and Tamales and they were raw! Went back and got the dozen replaced and some of the tamales were still raw..Do not waste your money at this place..They are very rude when it comes down to complaints.

Very overpriced. A gallon of whole milk can run you almost $5. A lot of things are expired that are still being sold. The staff is very friendly, however. Still not worth the stop unless its for hot food and sweet bread.

Tacos made me sick to my stomach. Not worth no matter how cheap. Last resort if desperate. Greasy asada tacos, tortillas soaked in grease and carne guisada was grosser, could not even eat tasted so bad. Once was good now just slacking on quality.

The tortillas are the best well at least one of the best at least there always hot if you go in the morning if not they will be on the rack. Always fresh the hot chicharones are good too with some meat and fat on it. Dammitt I think I wanna go get some now. The meat is always fresh too. Babarcoa in the weekends and menudo too. Can goods need to be up to date. I bought few can goods they had expired 2 years ago, gloves need to be worn wen serving in the meet department and i seen roaches in the pastry area, cashiers dont great custumers and they dont thankyou for your purchased trash cans are always full and sidewalks araund store need to be clean for spills and chewing gum.

I have lived in the area for over twenty years and have always enjoyed the service and products they have to offer. the location is conveniently close by. The meat in my experience has been of good quality and the price usually competes with the HEB. the store does look it could use a coat of paint and some improvements, but the products and employees are solid. the workers speak spanish and english as i am sure is extremely important since i would bet a majority of the customers speak/ prefer to speak spanish, which segways into my final point: I do not see any reviews in spanish, which is a shame because this store is always packed with customers who Im sure only have good things to say.

This place is incredibly ghetto. It doesnt really belong in the area and the moment you walk in the front door, look up. Thats your clue to leave. This isnt that part of the south side... At night, it seems to attract alot of attention from less than desirable individuals who dont live in the area but use the busline at the corner. Many of those individuals have no business being in this area either... Its not a bad area Its heavily populated by military and hispanics that are very financially wealthy. Even the public parks, traders village, and the new businesses going up here reflect their community wealth. Most of the local businesses here do such an excellent job in lawn care, property maintenance, and fresh paint that this thing stands out in a very bad way. Its a shame its on the busline. Any time a business is, it will suffer the appearance of a vandalized location.I prefer to buy things elsewhere, the matching Valeros down the street, the CVS and the Family Dollar, or just make the drive to the Walmart one exit up or the HEBs in either direction. HEB is considering expanding close to Traders Village anyways so dont expect this place to be here many years from now. There is alot of graffiti on the building they are not concerned with, the parking lot is actually half gravel in an area they are not permitted to be. Their lot doesnt actually expand to that point, and theyve been ignored by city council and code enforcement for some strange reason. Yet they use it anyways during largely celebrated latino holidays for overfill. Police officers often stop in the parking lot at night for their reports, breaks, and to deter crime. The neighborhood behind it is actually quite nice for the southside.Fast cashiers, terrible product rotation, excessive clutter near the front door, and the front door does not have an air curtain. Its extremely irresponsible environmentally as well as energy inefficient that nearly all of their air conditioning, refrigerators, and the lighting are costing them a fortune in electricity. Their roof ACs are visible from the street and theyve done nothing to improve their appearance since their original installation. This location is extremely hot during the summer, and the employees are all sweating by 10AM.
