Great place to find south American foods.Form candies to caned meats. Its one of the only places I can find good tortillas (el milagro) but you have to get there early because they most likely will run out in the afternoon. You can also find crema oaxaqueña which for me is the best type of cream you can find. Its salty not sour so I use it on my tostadas or to make carbonara its really wonderful.I absolutely have to get some wonderful ingredients when Im grocery shopping at least once a month.
My husband and I ordered 4 tacos to go. They were very very skimpy on their fillings. Two teaspoons of barbacoa on a tortilla and the bean taco had only a smear of beans on it. Since I live 20 miles away, I didn’t drive back but I called the manager instead. He basically just said sorry and agreed the beans were watery that day - but no offer to make it right. Over two tacos Culabra lost two customers.
Its my favorite. I find all the goodies my mom loves from prickly person to nopalitos. I can also get her favorite mexican candies and pastries. Tamales are good, carnitas, lengua, and cheek meat. Staff go out of their way to help. Its the best!
The quality of food especially the meat is great and the food all around is great as well. The butchers are friendly but the cashier women are never friendly and somewhat rude. Aside from them, I enjoy coming to the store to shop.
I have been in here a few times and no one helps customers at all, this morning I tried to buy some meat and the three guys working wouldn’t stop doing anything to help me, they just stared—the customer, so I just blew it off grabbed some bread and went to check out the girls running the counter were talking and had the isles blocked. So I put the bread back, never to return again and HEB’s one butcher will help me right away and my 500$ sale went to them. Fix your customer service
Really good cuts of meat.Very fresh produce and super clean store.Fresh tamalesLarge selection of pastries
We often purchase at this store, but lately all of the bags of flour tortilla we have purchased have had four or five moldy tortillas. I soon as we get home we place them in the fridge so there is no reason for them to get moldy on the way there.I would recommend for staff to be more aware because it’s unacceptable.
The meat is always on point and fresh! Prices are extremely reasonable! Primitivo Andrés is the Maestro there in case you have any questions!
This place was a total disappointment to me. I love going to the one on Marbach because they have great carnitas, pan dulce and the meat prices arent super crazy. This is not the truth for the one on Encino Rio. I got carnitas but they werent that great. They were more fat that meat. Also, they wanted the same amount for the beef that the big chain stores were charging ($15-17 a pound for the better cuts of meat). Also, though they have a wide selection of pan dulce, the apple fritters had no apple in them and the empanadas were tiny compared to the ones we get on Marbach. On top of that, I passed by the deli case and the bacon was gray. I honestly cannot recommend this store to anyone unless youre just going for dry goods.
Really good stuff but had to put ALL of my stuff back bc of WiFi.Fix your WiFi.Cashier was nice
Great place to get tradicional mexicana good. And the colaborators are the best.
This place is great, reminds of the RGV. People are friendly, helps if you speak Spanish.
This establishment is very well stocked with authentic foods and hard to find spices and pastries. The staff is friendly and helpful in finding your favorite items. The store also has barbacoa and Tomales for your weekend gathering. We recommend this business for any occasion or just daily needs.
We love Culebra meat market but this was is such a disappointment ! Went to get some meat and picked up a bag of flour tortillas, was not expecting them to have mold I thought it was only 1 but after inspecting the rest, they were all bad. They were put in the fridge when I got home, so NO, they were not left out to sit. Not returning to this store !
Great little market!
Great place to get meats, veggies and other Mexican products. Cashiers are nice and helpful, Im giving a 4 because when I have a question about a product sometimes its hard to find someone for help.
Tamales, carnitas, tripas, pan dulce, salsas, and everything else you need for your mexican pachanga. Impress your girlfriends dad with a 6 pack of modelo and a dozen tamales.
Great meat market
Great meat choices alot better than HEB.
Watch out when you buy meat in this place! 3 times out of 5, the meat smelled really bad. Needless to say this is becoming a norm. And they are not the cheapest either! They take advantage they are located in a good area!
Culebra Meat Market makes me salivate like a dog. Their variety of raw and prepared meats are terrific and prices are as good as it gets. Hint: compare the great cheeses with other stores and save big bucks. While you’re at it get some nice end cuts, liver and chicken feet for those meat loving pets!
There hasn’t been a time where I go and the cashiers are extremely rude . Today 07/5, I had to go back for a box of cookies I forgot, and the cashier was pressuring me . No body was behind me and the store was empty . She asked very rudely if I was going to take long . I was just getting a box of cookies . They need to be more friendly !
Great Mexican meat and supermarket with economic cuts of meat. They have a great ground sirloin that tastes wonderful! People are great and very service oriented, good veggies and take away pan dulce, barbacoa and big red!... We visit at least once a week!
Fresh empanadas yummy BarbacoaWarm corn and flour tortillas 👍
Great selection of produce, meats, seasoning, etc. Friendly staff and very clean store! Prices are reasonable!
Amazing food as always. Im glad they strictly enforce wearing face masks in their stores, as to better protect themselves and other customers.
The Staff is Always Awesome. Especially, the Meat Cutting Staff.
If I could go negative I would. I called this place and specifically asked if they had Skirt steak, to make fajitas with. I was told yes. I asked how much? And the girl called out the name Christopher, and this guy says $3.99 a pound. So I drive the 30Mins to get here only to be told no, its $7.99 a pound. I explain to them about my call. First they said I called wrong store. Nope, showed them my phone and pushed dial and their phone rang. Second, No Christopher there. Shocker. I told them I wouldnt have driven all the way for that price, its cheaper at H-E-B. They were rude, and condescending. I will NOT be back.
They always have what we need & the staff is friendly.
Disgusting. Me and my family went to the Culebra Meat Market to view some of the authentic Mexican items they had and to our surprise when we entered the Tamale section of the store my mother had seen cockroaches in the area. Me and my father were picking out some of your “fresh bread” when my mother comes up to us and tells us that we shouldn’t get the bread, at this point we had already had the bread in the box and didn’t want to be rude and just leave it there so we just checked out and left. Yes the staff was indeed a pleasant crew but the facility was just nasty.
Went in and asked for brisquit they sent us home with $80 of steak skirts. Night before mothers day expected to smoke a brisquit and now we are stuck with meat we didnt ask for. Unmoral to wrongly take peoples money and hand them whatever they wanted just to make a sell.
Great place to find good meats
I like it. they have a lot of things in the store
My family LOVES this place. Great for Mexican food supplies and for grilling steaks. Ask them to cut the meat for you and they will give cuts as think as you ask.
BEST. MEXICAN. BAKERY. EVER. Listen, people of Stone Oak and Encino Park, this place should be re-named The Secret Bakery of Awesomeness. They have the coolest stuff: French pastries, Mexican pastries, donuts, churros filled with delightful substances, ginormous cookies, etc. My kids beg me to take them there for treats and they are a way better price than anywhere else. Everyone who works there is super friendly! Also, there are fresh hot tortillas that will fulfill all of your tortilla cravings. Sure, they have some meat, too, but this is definitely the place for goodies. I took off one star because it smells more like a meat place than a bakery sometimes depending on what is cookin.
Fajita meat looked good but tasted old. It was not fresh like it looked.
Excellent barbacoa
Store was dark, many lights not working as well as one of the beer coolers not working. Shelves seemed sparingly stocked. Check out was very friendly young man. I have always enjoyed the meat here.
On a 1 to 10. Barbacoa-All meat= 9. Tamales=7 theyre Small but yummy. Service is a 10 most of the time. Especially the barbacoa lady on weekends. Shes nice. Meat selection is 9. Produce 7. I believe its mostly local though. Dont quote me on that. Though
The kind of Old school meat market I love. Great hot food kitchen, and fresh butcher meats and cheeses. Produce too. Great reasonable prices. The employees are all wonderful and do such a great job.
Love there meats.I wanted a certain steak cut and they cut it for me with no problem
They are really trying to enforce social distancing, of course some people just dont want to cooperate. But good for them for trying.
If you are out looking for a place to get great barbacoa on the weekends, this is the place to come and find it. You can buy barbacoa by the pound or in a package that includes beans, both corn & flour tortillas, hot sauce and a 2 liter sofa. You can also get Mexican sweet bread, fresh meats from the market or find last minute items on your grocery list.
Meat was really bad and dry. I bought a rib eye and it tasted like it was weeks old
The food quality here is poor. There are fly’s everywhere buzzing all over the produce and most of the produce is extremely wilted. The meat quality is poor at best and you can get better quality at most of the supermarkets around here. I will absolutely not be going back.
A quick little market, where you will find just what you need to cook authentic Mexican cuisine, and warning Will Robinson, dont go there when they are making fresh hot flour tortillas; hmm so good.
I will never come to this location ever again.. I advise all to not attend as well. My husband went in this morning for Barbacoa and he ended up purchasing a Tortilla holder type thing(keeps tortillas warm). He stated as he was checking out.. 2 cashier ladies were accusing him of stealing tortillas within the tortilla thing. Once they saw that it was empty that they starting laughing.... entire conversation in Spanish. Upon paying.. my husband told them in Spanish to charge the card in debit. My husband is black but raised in Spain therefor understands and speaks Spanish very fluently. Teach your employees some damn manners and to not be ignorant.. Ill be contacting Mr Joe about there 2 ignorant employees Claudia and Vivian. If a lawyer is needed I will do that as well. Its people like this that give the Mexican and/or Hispanic Heritage a bad reputation! I myself a Mexican.. am ashamed that someone within my culture/race would disrespect a man of color.. my husband. My husband loves the Hispanic culture and always comes to Culebra for our meals but after this.. HEB is the only place Ill attend from here on forward.
They have Barbacoa and menudo on Saturdays and Sundays. Freshly made in house made flour tortillas and fresh corn tortillas from a nearby tortilleria. They also sell fresh tamales, carnitas, mollejas and chicharones. The chicharones are the hard type and are not my favorite. They are also a general grocery store and have things such as milk, meats, can goods and cold goods. The people are very friendly and helpful. Ive been going for there for 5 years and the food and service is consistent.
The stores very clean all the time and almost always has what Im looking for and the meat is always Uber fresh
Pretty nice Mexican grocery. This is where I get my raw fresh chorizo every time, its the best Ive found so far. I like to treat myself to a piece of their tasty budin when I go :)
Great mexican goods. Fresh menudo, carnitas, tripas, barbacoa and tamales can be bought here. Its delicious.
This place makes convenience store prices look cheap.
Great little store, Some of the best marinated meat you will find, and at a great price. Grabbed some Carne al Pastor for street tacos on Super Sunday and they were a giant hit I also love the smoked pork chops for my Ramen.
Great prices on fresh meat, and a super friendly staff.
I went to the store to buy some tamales for lunch and found out that they only sell them by the dozen, so I asked for a dozen tamales and chose two different flavors, they said they do not sell them mixed, so I couldnt get what I was looking for. I asked to speak with the manager and here is when the problem started. I made a suggestion to the manager in a very nice way to implement the sell of the tamales allowing the customers to build the dozen by choosing from different flavors, he replied in not vey polite way that thats the way they sell them and that nothing can be done. When I intended to explain the advantages in doing that, this disrespectful employee joined the conversation without being invited and asked me if I dont understand hat the manager was saying, he was even mire rude than the manager. I told them that what that was very silly and the employee became angry, starting using bad words and threaten me to hurt me physically unless I leave. I refuse to leave immediately and challenged him to touch me if he believed he has the right to do so. Others employees and the manager stopped him from attacking me. This is not the right way to treat customers, if a suggestion is made and doesnt comply with companys policy is okay, but being rude and threating a customer doesnt make any sense. There is not respect for customers at this business. I will never buy anything from them in the future and will do my best to make friends and neighbors of the type of treatment they will get if they ever go there.
Best selection of hard to find cuts of meat and everything you need to cook great Mexican food.
Went here a few months ago, way more expensive on meat than HEB. So I walked out. While doing so, the cashier was so rude asking why Im not buying anything and I told her its cheaper at HEB which was just down the road.
Ive only been there once, but I remember the prices were great & the aroma from the fresh tamales was awesome!
Meat and prices are great. The tamales are amazing.
Staff were very low class and didnt help the next person in line. And for a customer that always goes there. They were messing around and didnt pay attention.
Warm tortillas, fresh tamales hot and ready to eat!
Love their Chorizo. Best weve ever had.
Love this place!
Too expensive
The meat and service is good never had any problems there.
Ive been multiple times....my husband has been, parents & friends have been multiple time at multiple locations for the last 10 yrs weve lived here, and it is usually the same thing to expect. Cant say we all didnt give them a fair chance.Prices are not reasonable in most cases. Have a problem with freshness of different things in different departments....produce, meat, bakery....Most few recent experiences have completely turn me off and I think my family all agrees we will stop giving them our business. We bought menudo for the first time from Culebra meat market for New Years Eve and got 2 large cups for 7.99 each which is pricey b/c you can get the same amount of menudo in restaurants for $4-$6. Not only was it over priced but both containers had very large bones...In one container there was 2 large bones leaving very little really not much to eat. The meat was not trimmed well and we were all pretty disappointed with how it turned out we ended up making something else to eat for New Year Eve.We got to other stories, but if you want to experience poor poor poor business then go check it out for yourself. But, Id suggest you save your effort and time.
For a small store they have good variety of Mexican products at fairly reasonable prices. Weekends they have the usual Mexican favs Menudo, barbacoa, tripas, chicharones, etc. The mgr/owner is nice and keeps the store clean and neat and well stocked. One time I walked of left 4 ribeyes I had just bought, went back 20 mins later talked to him about it, he went to the meat counter told his employee give this man 4 steaks no questions asked. Very pleased with Culebra Meat Market and Tink a Taco next door!!
This store didnt have a lot like the bigger meat market and it was pretty cluttered, and it had a weird smell. I couldnt find what I was looking for, so I will go to the nagcodouches one.
Friendly people, great prices, convenient

Never bolbere to go the shrimp were spoiled they hurt my wife disgusted I do not recommend it !!!
Good attention!!
The service of dolEx is malicious pecimo I put a star on it but they should also have an X for bad experiences
My wife bought marinated chicken, coming home and I open the bag it smelled awful misshapen. How is it possible that they sell the spoiled chicken.
On Sunday, July 21, I went to buy a barbecue and I had to wait 15 minutes for them to take care of me and since there was no line I was the second in line. Terrible service.
One of the worst experiences since the cashier who attended us, gave us super bad service apart from the fact that she wanted to overcharge us and finally did not give us a drink that we paid for. I really hope someone does something about it.
Super products
A place where you find everything and excellent quality.
Great barbecue!
Well !!!
