This tiny oft passed by hole in the wall is a long lost treasure in itself... This is definitely a bookstore for true bookworms. I spent over an hour and a half in here and I didnt even touch full amount of books that are available. The amount of books dont even fit on the shelves. They are stacked and stacked as they should be. I could easily get lost for hours. Definitely will spend more time there.

Sometimes, I feel like Im on an expedition when I visit Dead Tree Books. I never know what latest treasure Im going find within various piles, but I never leave empty-handed. Prices are wonderful on my budget and the handmade soap basket up front by checkout smells divine.

Charming little indie bookstore. Some reviewers have commented that its disorganized, but I think they miss the point. This isnt a corporate chain like HPB. Its small, a little cluttered (in a good way), and full of hidden gems at really great prices. And if youre looking for something in particular, the owner is super helpful.

Came from Houston he stayed open till we got there awesome friendly service and he helped by husband with a vision problem take the books to the car.

The place might have a good selection, but I couldnt really tell because of how disorganized and messy it was. The aisles werent easily accessible. It looks like more bookshelves are needed, so potential customers can easily browse and find what theyre looking for.

Enjoyed browsing and went home with 4 books! Its a used bookstore so you may or may not find something specific that youre looking for... just keep that in mind. We were fortunate to find, at least, one of the specific books we were looking for. Owners are very nice & easy to talk to. 👍👍

The owner and her husband were very helpful in helping me select some books for my granddaughter. They were very friendly and patient while helping me to find some books appropriate for a young girl.

Oh my goodness! I am a huge book lover and stumbling upon this shop was amazing! It’s an organized chaos- the owner knows where everything is and what they have. I just wanted to spend hours combing through the books and cant beat the prices at all. Definitely coming back.

If you love books and have a few hours to browse, hit Dead Tree Books.There are books on shelves, books in tubs, books in boxes, and books stacked on the floor.I had a great time wandering and mining for gems here. We will definitely go there again and I recommend you give them a try.

I dont know what took me so long to visit Dead Tree Books, but Im glad I finally made it there. Wonderful selection of books! Browsing is fun, but if you are looking for something specific, just ask the owners and they know whether they have it and will get it for you. They are incredibly friendly and helpful. Ill be back regularly!

Its a small building a little hidden but it is a great place and the man who owns the bookshop is wonderful.He let me stay in the store look through his books and read in there and gave me great info about the books I was picking out.They even have Arthurs show up every nomination to talk about their books.

Just moved to San Antonio a few days ago and this place happened to be the closest book store to me and Im very glad I went in. The staff was extremely friendly and we talked for a little bit about my favorite series of books. I was even more excited when I saw a few books Ive been looking for for months and I walked out with five books for only $10!! At a big chain like Barnes and Noble I wouldve been spending around $60 for them! All in all a great place with great people and I cant wait to go back!

They have an AMAZING collection. Always new titles, and up on what is poplar. They have great events every week, with really current writers. Also, the staff is super friendly and awesome, and very helpful with my questions. The hairless cat is also totally fitting and probably my favorite part of the store.

Ive been following these guys on Facebook for awhile, but only recently visited. Store-wise, the setup is a little jumbled, similar to a school library. Price and customer service, though? Above and beyond!! I had a friend going out of country for medical treatment, and I wanted to get her a few books for the trip. I messaged the store to ask if they had anything from the 2 authors I was looking for (theyre not close to my home.) I was just looking for a simple yes/no, we carry that. Within an hour, I received not only a reply, but photos of everything that had in stock!! The owners set the pile aside for me, sent me the total, and it was ready for pickup the next day!When you first walk in, theres a table of signed/rare/special edition goodies that cost a little more. I found a book that Ive been looking for forever, that was triple at Half-Price books! I bought 7 books, including 1 rare hardcover, for less than $16! To top it off, just before bed (theyre open late,) I received another message from the owners with a thank you! Who does that?? This is a wonderful little husband-and-wife run bookshop, and I will definitely return. A+!

I stopped by to check out the used book section. I bought a couple of good reference and cooking books at about half price. The selection is sizeable, but not vast. I liked what I saw, and I would definitely come back.

Neat selection of books and it changes with new books that are brought in. They bring in local authors for book signings and meet and greets. The staff is super friendly and extra helpful. If you follow them on FB, they post new or unique books and you can put them on hold to purchase, its how we got the Harry Potter series for my kiddo. It was a great deal too.

My boyfriend is always trying to find new places for me to buy books, and he came across this place. We visited and I just loved it!! I was able to pick up a couple of books that I probably wouldnt have known about if I hadnt stopped by. The staff was friendly and I definitely cant wait to go back!

Really cute bookstore near TX. The selection is eclectic, but they still have the classics. I felt much more drawn to more books here than I do at your average bookstore. There is an upper level, where they invite you to read all day, making the books accessible to everyone.

I was looking through a window of a closed store, when the employees were leaving for the day.As they were walking out, keys and purse in hand, they asked what book I was looking for. I didnt know exactly, but they asked me to come in and look for myself. I paid for 3 books and thanked them. They stated that if someone was willing to make time to go to their shop, they were willing to make time for them as well.Bravo!But remember.. They close at 7pm..

Like most Indy used book stores you wonder if its a front or someones retirement fun, there never seems to be enough business to pay the rent.Small space, a bit difficult to get to, but with some real gems hidden among the dross and very reasonable prices.Definitely worth a visit for people looking for a real used book store.
