This review is long LONG overdue but whats one year late right? In sept 2020 my van broke down in the middle of a cross country road trip-literally worst case scenario I blew a head gasket-needed whole engine replaced. I had brought the van into Xcessive and was quickly thankful I did. Tony and the shop went above and beyond for me during the time my vehicle was in their shop. Im a solo female traveler so Im always concerned Im getting ripped off or not taken seriously when it comes to auto repair. Tony involved me in each step of the repair process, talking in depth with me about my options and what he would recommend. Whenever I stopped by to check in on repairs, they would take me to see every individual thing they were working on, making sure I had all the pictures and knowledge I needed to feel confident in their repairs. Every other place in town told me it would be weeks and weeks before I could be on the road again, but Tony and his team did everything they could to get me up and running ASAP. On my first day with the new engine, I had a coolant hose break 2 hours from San Angelo-Tony sent someone to drive out to me to repair the hose right then and there in the middle of nowhere. Who does that?? I literally cannot speak highly enough of Xcessive Auto Repair. Best prices and service not only in the area but in the country. Theyve ruined all future shop experiences for me because no one Ive encountered thus far has come even close to the level of service and expertise I was given at Xcessive.

Nice customer service they dont give you parts you dont need they take care of you most honest shop in town

I brought a set of struts in to have the springs changed on them. They made no effort to put the strut back together properly. Spring was not seated in the strut properly making one taller than the other. They did not mark the top and bottom of the strut before taking it apart, so when they quickly slapped them back together the bolts were WAY misaligned. It’s like they’ve never changed a strut spring before. They obviously value a quick buck instead of doing quality work. Took them to another shop to have them done right and they were surprised that a “professional” shop had did that to them. Avoid this place and find someone more reputable. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Totally impressed by the work these guys did to my 2019 Type R! Installed the Injen intake and the Greddy exhaust with such accuracy and quickness! I was really impressed by the mechanic’s attention to detail and was very careful from opening the box to installing the part! Best of all... They DON’T charge you an arm and a leg! You get the quality that you pay for plus some! THIS PLACE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I only deal with places where I trust the people and this is certainly a place that establishes trust with their customers. I am fortunate to also call Tony a friend but I appreciate his honesty and knowledge in this industry. He is definitely an expert and someone who will make sure the job gets done right. I have trusted him with all my cars and thousands of dollars later this is still my shop of choice!

Ive trusted Champ with my most prized possessions for over 20 years. From an 88 Mclaren Mustang to my 07 GT500 vert to my pride and joy, a 1966 C10.Not once have they let me down. Always above and beyond my expectations on every mod or project. If they didnt have it, they got it. And always at a cost well within my budget for the project.I have spoken with Champ on numerous occasions regarding projects and never a push to sell me something or try and over sell me.Ive seen his shop when you could eat off the floor and seen it stacked with so many vehicles you couldnt walk.As a professional pilot for 35+, the first thing you learn is, you never take your jet to a shop thats empty. There is a reason why its empty. Thats why Ill travel over a hundred miles to Xcessive to have work done. They are that good.They nicknamed Champ for a reason way over 20 years ago, it still holds true today. But dont tell him I said so.

Tony has built a shop that has proven to stand the test of time based on his love for the industry and his passion for serving people. Xcessive has worked on several of my vehicles from basic window tint to motor swaps to fully custom paint and body work. Xcessive has always been my go to performance and general repair shop since 2004. I have had nothing but honest and quality work from there. Tony will not steer you in any direction you do not want to go. Prices are more than fair and he will do his research to make sure you are getting exactly what you need or ask for. I have had multiple vehicles modified and repaired in his shop and Xcessive has always come through. As for being run down and dirty....its a mechanics shop if it was spotless that would make me worried. If you want the best local affordable performance shop look no further.

I have been friends with Tony for over 15 years. If you want a clean smooth looking tasteful job done that is what you are paying for. If you dont want to pay for quality work you better learn to wrench yourself as there are no better options for the kind of work that he specializes in.

I called to schedule an appointment to install an aftermarket part due to the fact I live an hour away, the owner told me to bring my vehicle in the following day around 1:00pm. Upon arrival, the owner told me they couldn’t do the work that day, he “thought they were only going to look at the part”... it had dropped from 55° (the time I made the appointment) to around 30° (the day the work was supposed to be done). Seemed to me, they just didn’t want to do the work. If your shop isn’t prepared to work in unfavorable conditions, don’t agree to perform the work, especially when you know the customer is driving from an hour away... Shop personnel were also all very unprofessional, demeanor and appearance. I’ll never do business here.

Best shop around people! I took my 98 Mustang to Champ in 98. When I was this young Kid that didnt know a lick about cars. He not only treated me with respect but took the time out to inform me on different aspects and situations i was looking for. Not once pushing a sale. Champ has done work on multiple cars for me since. Not only has he worked on my cars since 98. I have taken my Sons car to get work done. Not many people these day take pride in their work, But at Xcessive work is done down to the detail!!

There is a reason why Xcessive Motorsports has been in business in San Angelo since 1997. I have seen several shops trying to be like his come and go since then. My friends and I have taken multiple vehicles that we have owned over the years to him to be upgraded and/or repaired. They do great work there. Ive even seen them working on vehicles after business hours when the doors are closed, not because they have to, but because thats what they like to do. They actually enjoy working on vehicles. Tony is up front and will tell you if it is a job he thinks they can get done or not. His shop may not look like one from the Fast and Furious movies haha, but that is because actual work gets done there. I can respect that. That tells me that he cares more about taking care of his workers and customers first than having a flashy shop. Its a locally owned and operated business, not a dealership service department or Midas.

I always have my work done here. They have worked on multiple trucks I have taken to them and everything they have ever did was spectacular. I dont trust just anyone with my vehicles, but xcessive Motorsports are trust worthy guys.

Person from this company responded to my ad to purchase a vehicle from a Craigslist ad that I was running to sell my Corvette. After negotiations we agreed on a price and seller agreed to buy my vehicle. We had made arrangements for him to pick it up and close the deal, and then later that day he called me and said that the price was too high and they decided they were not interested at the price we settled on. Duh?? These folks completely wasted my time. I would not do business with them in any capacity ever again.
