The Garage under new ownership is a great place for automotive repair and workmanship. Paint jobs and body work and mechanics are top shelf. Honesty and Loyalty to customers is the best in the North Shore. I highly recommend their services. They are prompt and honest and professional. I am a customer for life.

I am not a real car guy, so its important to me to have a mechanic I trust. The folks at the Garage are great. They know what theyre doing and their prices are fair and they wont take you for a ride (see what I did there?)

Had all four tires replaced on my SUV. I was late dropping off the car and they still helped me right away. Now the car ride is as good as the day it was purchased. Very happy with the service.

Jim and the Garage provide excellent reliable service at a fair price. They helped me with so many cars and in particular helped me hold onto a car an extra year plus when everyone else recommended a new transmission. They even drop the car off for me sometimes!

These guys are the best actually they were a heaven sent was in an emergency situation and they were more than kind and professional great people great mechanics fixed the car immediately without charging more for my immergency situation which has happened to me before. They returned my car with burnt seats, a scratch, and absolutely filthy.I brought my car in for repair on the rear drivers side. I was going through insurance, so the amount of time that the repair took was not an issue because I understand insurance companies can be a pain. This being said, they were in possession of my car for more than enough time to return it in proper shape. But when I went to pick up my car the first thing I noticed was a new scratch on the rear passenger side (opposite from the side they were supposed to be fixing). Upon opening the door that they replaced I saw that not only were my seats completely filthy, but they had burned holes in the back seat. The state of my car was upsetting to me because I have always prided myself in the cleanliness of my car and I dont even let people eat in it. So to see the seats covered in dirt, fingerprints on the steering wheel, the interior door handles literally brown with dirt, etc. was very upsetting. And to see that my back seat (which was in like-new condition prior to be being dropped off) had holes burnt in it in addition to the dirt was upsetting. I understand that it was probably from welding, but the fact that they didnt think to cover the seats to protect them and tried to return me my car with holes burnt into the seats is extremely unprofessional. They even put the seat back in incorrectly such that I couldnt access the seat belt for the middle seat. The fact that they thought that that was acceptable to return it to me is ridiculous. I immediately told them about the burnt seat and the scratch and they said they would fix it the following week in addition to cleaning it. Well I dropped off my car, and after about 6 hours I picked it back up to see that they had replaced the seat with a slightly different one. It is the same color but a slightly different shape and I noticed it immediately. They couldnt even be bothered to replace the seat that they ruined with the same one. And their definition of cleaning it was to take a rag and quickly wipe it down. The only thing they did that I have no qualms about is they properly fixed the scratch that they put in the right side of the car. They werent even nice people. The owner, Jim, was incredibly rude when I asked him to address the problems his business had caused. Their work was passable at best and only because I had to make them a list of everything they needed to fix that they hadnt the first time. The owner told me that things had been kind of busy recently, and I wish they would have told me that from the beginning because I would have taken my car somewhere else. I would not recommend this shop to anyone and I will not be going back.

The best garage ever and I recommend never using anyone else. Jim is a real gentleman, Chris is very responsible, Janine is the best ever and the whole staff is loaded with professionals. Look no further you have found the Garage for body work, custom work, and local mechanic.

Good people, good place

Four stars because so far The Garage has not really done any work on my car to speak of. They were extremely nice and told me that I did NOT need a big job that another shop told me I needed. So, that was a relief. And I hope they were right!

I was very pleased with the work of The Garage in Salem ma, my car needed a few repairs that were long over due and it now runs great and the repairs were much quicker than I expected!

DONT GO HERE!Picked my car up from them and couldnt figure out why it smelled so bad. Turns out they spilled oil or something all over the seat and did nothing about it. I even mentioned it smelled really bad and they didnt say anything. After a week, I finally couldnt take the smell anymore and decided to use my own time and money to clean out my car. The cleaning supplies I used on the seats lifted up the stain right after I applied them and it was obvious what had happened and I ended up soaking up oil for at least 25 minutes. My seat is now stained. Clearly they dont care about their customers.

Janeen and Lauren were so good to me. The guys took my car for inspection and Janeen and Lauren kept me company. Super great place and excellent service!
