This is the third computer our small nonprofit has purchased from Double Dex. They have saved us so much time and money. We wouldnt go anywhere else for advice or to buy a computer. The staff is whip smart and a pleasure to work with. Today I drove from the Bay Area to Sacramento with our old desktop computer and a macbook pro laptop. I turned both in, got a little money for them and applied that to the laptop Im enjoying right now as I write this review. Theyll ship a mac mini to me when it finishes downloading from the desktop. Its possible this transaction could have taken place entirely online but I wanted to see if they could download data from the old computers to the new while I waited. They did. I went to the Crocker Museum in the interim. The drive was worth it. The computers are awesome and Double Dex is fantastic.

Purchased a new logic board via their ebay store for my beloved A1398. It came quickly, was in great condition and most importantly worked first boot no issues! (backlight, display, wifi, etc.). Feeling very accomplished and grateful that businesses like DoubleDex exist - Thanks so much guys!

If you are looking for a company that can provide a great Macbook and customer service, then Double Dex is the spot for sure!!!!We bought one 6 months ago and our son spilled water on it. We shipped it to DD and received notice that they had it and we’re starting work on it. Today, Jeff, from DD headquarters called personally to tell us what they had to do and how much it was going to cost. Don’t buy a laptop from Double Dex Refurbis. I wanted one for myself so I bought one through Amazon (their Renewed laptops) for $1400. After 1-2 hours of use the screen goes blank and/or scrambles into different colors and I have to shut it off. The other issue is that it would just shut off completely at random. I am aware of some issues where if you plug in the power cord it would freeze - Tried to get a pick up for a return because my town is infested with Covid and the company has been giving me the run around for 3 weeks. I was sent the laptop with an exploded battery. Buyer beware, $1400 out the window. Snotty attitudes onto of it

The Double Dex team is the absolute BEST. This is my second machine and I couldnt be happier. When my last one FINALLY died (it was nine years old, so it owes me nothing), the DD team is the first place I looked and called. I needed a machine thats heavily equipped for graphics and video production and unfortunately, I needed it ASAP. Aaron was able to help select the right machine for me, and helped get it to me overnight.I was also able to send back my previous machine for a small core credit. Every time I turn around, Double Dex is making the world, and the Mac Experience, better! –– Certainly more affordable!When its time to upgrade my wifes laptop, I know exactly where Ill go: Double Dex. My Macbook arrived in a timely manner and looked very good. During first day of use was immediately promoted to upgrade to new iOS, which triggered a list of installation issues and was unable to restore and use the machine. In contacting DD customer service via website, I was promptly telephoned by the manager, Jeff Johnson. He, in turn, had his team review the installer log and were back to me with a solution very quickly. Everything seems in order w Machine, but the staff could not have been more helpful.

SCAMMERS!! They just DELETED my Review DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!I bought a Mac Pro Specifically for making music for 1000$! It sat safe in the package on a shelf until I got back to Sweden (travelled with it in hand luggage, been taking good care...) As Im ready to start at my newly set up studio, the Screen shuts off every other minute!! Because its just to old to fix, say technicians that have looked at it... I had 1 year insurance they said but when I called they said they can do Nothing because 6 months have passed. I NEVER GOT TO USE IT & GOT COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF!! DO NOT GO THERE if I could rate LESS THEN 1 STAR - I WOULD!!!

Double Dex is unique, very efficient... quick, reasonable and fun! You can tell they enjoy their work by the smiles on the faces. I look for things like that, it shows pride. The task I requested was taken care of quickly and even though more work was required on their part, the cost remained at the quoted price. Double Dex is now my go-to for all things Apple!

DONT TRUST THIS PLACE!! I bought a Mac Pro Specifically for creating music for 1000$ and didnt use it until I got back to Sweden. Excellent company, I cant comment on their online experience, but Ive been to their physical location, bought a 15 MBP for about what local private parties were selling it for (maybe 100+tax more) - and it came with the warranty and guarantee. The facility is top notch and you can tell they really know what theyre doing. They answered all my questions and Ive recommended them to a couple people I know.

They sold me a computer with a damaged motherboard. After that i sent it to the store (im from south América, you can imagine the price) and they gave me the computer back, and after 1 week motherboard failed again.This happened like 2 Years ago, i dont know why i Waited so long to leave a review here, but dont buy anything from them.

Double Dex has provided the best customer service experience Ive ever had, not just once but three separate times over as many years. I 2015, I purchased a 2011 MacBook Pro from them via Amazon, and when the logic board started having trouble, they arranged a warranty replacement. They have always been willing to work with me, have been up front and transparent about their pricing, and have been friendly and supportive in all their interactions with me via email and over the phone. I highly recommend them both for their service and for the quality of their products.

Very knowledgable and friendly people. We purchased a used MBP from DD for my high school child. It stopped working recently when the DD store warranty was already over about 5 months ago. We tried to get it fixed with a local computer repair guy with no success. I contacted Double Dex and was told they could assist. They did! They identified and fixed the problem within 15 minutes. These people know what they are doing and they stand behind their customers.

Aaron and Jonathan were super helpful in bringing my 2012 MBP back to life. They are my go to source for any apple repairs that are out of Apple Care coverage. Great prices and great service. They know their stuff and are honest. I was going to have them upgrade the ram on said MBP, and Aaron mentioned that it was cheaper for me to just buy ram and install it myself. Saved me about $35. I bought a computer from this company through Amazon last year. We had a couple issues with it including the DVD drive was jammed and we saw the Rainbow circle a lot more than we would’ve liked, but we didn’t contact them within the first 30 days. The computer got worse and finally after a year of dealing with it I contacted the company. They extended their six month at cost warrantee for me so I sent them my computer to check out. At first they gave me a quote to fix it but after more discussion they offered another option that might fix our issue. They ended up fixing my computer and replacing the DVD drive for free! Now we have our computer back and it works like a dream. They were very easy to deal with and very kind to fix our computer at no cost to us. I highly recommend this company and will use them again in the future.

These guys ROCK. I spilt some water on my MacBook, it consequently shut down and wouldn’t restart. Apple told me I needed a new board @ $450 with a 3-5 day repair window. I went to doubledex and they said “if” a new board was needed, they could do it by the end of the day. They called me less than an hour later letting me know it was ready. I didn’t need a new board, it just needed the corrosion cleaned off. ($75). If you own a Mac computer or iPad – call these guys first!

John has brought my computer back to life twice. The first was after my 2-year-old spilled an entire cup of orange juice on my BRAND new computer and it went black instantly. I was quoted $800-1000 to fix it. I came to John for help and not only was he able to fix it, he saved me a TON of money. I actually felt bad paying him what he charged. He won my loyalty for life. The second time I didnt even bother with anyone else and came to John with a damaged hard drive. I just showed up and gave it to him. Within 15 minutes my computer had a new hard drive, and again he saved me a ton of money. This is a stand-up business and you wont regret using them.

EXTREMELY please with my entire experience. I had only one minor issue and they took care of it ASAP with NO issue! Customer service as it should be! When I called, I got an immediate answer and it was clear they wanted me to be 100% happy. They told me to send the mac back at their expense and they will get another one out to me right away. I got the new mac book and I couldnt be happier! BUY WITH CONFIDENCE!!

Do not buy! Was sent a MacBook with a key not working, a battery not fully functioning, and a charger that hardly worked. Apple chargers may suck and not last long, but my charger hardly lasted long at all, and this company would not replace my charger, and on top of that they could not even figure out why my battery was not charging, they did not bother to check my charger, and instead decided to replace the entire battery.

I do mobile audio work and graphics/video and need as much compute power as I can get in a laptop. I checked out prices on line and, surprise, was priced out of a new Mac. I got turned on to Double Dex Computers and their refurbished MacBook Pro upgrades. For way less money than a new computer from the Apple Store I now have a solid machine with 16 gigs of ram and a 1T drive — actually 2 drives — one to write files to. (I talked to customer service about doing that and they were super helpful.) Turn around time was fast and they stand behind their work. Thanks Double Dex.

If I could give less than one star, I would. The rudest, most condescending, worst customer support I have ever received in my entire life. Computer broke after six months and the manager, Jeff Johnson, told that he changed his mind about his initial offer to warranty my computer for the life of the computer. Do NOT purchase anything from these people.

Ive never purchased a used laptop and never owned a MacBook. I was very nervous to make my purchase because I didnt know what to expect. I read reviews and took my chances. Got my MacBook Air earlier than expected (Delivered in 3 days). The laptop I got had minor flaws such as scratches but that was expected and doesnt even look bad. The laptop has been functioning perfectly as well. I waited a few days to write this review so I could give honest feedback since I know reviews are important to some people like me. Overall great company, package included instructions on how to return it if there were any issues and customer care number. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for an affordable laptop.

I bought a MacBook Pro from Double Dex through Walmart. I ran into some compatibility issues that had to do with the software I was wanting to run. I thought that was the end of the story and so returned it through Walmart. When Double Dex found out I had a return being processed they didnt waste any time resolving my problem! At no additional cost to the original purchase price, they asked what I needed and they upgraded and installed everything I needed ! All the way down to the specific OS I needed for the very picky requirements of the software I needed to run. They replaced a 2010 MacBook Pro with a custom 2012 MacBook Pro! Im coming here first for all my Mac needs!

Pretty sure they sold me a lemon. The screen stopped working within 24hrs, I made the drive from Grass Valley the following week for them to fix and was only given a $25 discount for gas (even though I had to take off work to fix their mistake). Since then, and Ive had it for a year, the SD card slot stopped working, the battery life is good for about 1 hour max without a charger (they told me I had to pay to replace it). All in all the customer service has been good, which is why they get 3 stars, but I really feel I was sold a lemon and couldve gotten a 13 MacBook Pro for $1k in better condition. If I had it to do over again, I would try and find a barely used one in brand new condition on ebay or CL... basically I bought a old banged up super used kind of refurbished macbook with good customer service for $1k. After a year, this feels like a bad deal.

I was very worried having to replace my 2007 Mac Book Pro which finally gave it up recently. I looked at new Mac Pros, 2500. Ugh. I looked at the Apple refurb site. Not much there when I looked and I looked on CL Sacto and saw the ones offered by Double Dex in Sacto. Then I saw a friend I trust had posted a good Yelp. So I go in and Jeff and Robert were most helpful, I think the boss was John. Very nice and took time to explain what goes into these refurbished units. A fair price and I bought it. Have not registered it but they have a 14 day return privilege and guarantee and basically whatever you might need they are there for you. What a change from the Apple store zoo! Personal very friendly connection. I have high hopes for my new Mac Book pro 16 gig, 1T. Thanks guys!

First of all if you are a person who knows a good bit about computers, stay away from this place! I am an expert computer technician for almost 20 years and needed a MacBook Pro for my basic business uses. Long story to short, these people refurbish MacBooks with dead GPUs and other internal components by reballing them as well as other cheap processes (google it for more info). Once they are sold to the customer, they often end up dying and causing numerous issues. This was the case with the Mid 2009 MacBook Pro that I had purchased from Double Dex. The computer was overpriced with low quality parts with a closer inspection showing more damage during the rebuild process with quality not even close to a true refurbished or even a used MacBook. These people take the cheap way of treating the customer and their warranty is a big scam when compared to other refurbishers or even sellers. They offered to fix this MacBook Pro, but wanted me to pay for shipping charges, diagnosis, and repairs at an extravagant price that I could perform for less. Not to mention, there was defects all over the place (both external and internal). If you want to buy a temporary MacBook for a high price with low quality components, this is the best place to go. Be wary of this place and refurbished MacBooks in general. You never know what you might be getting into.

I live in Ohio, and recently purchased a refurbished MacBook Pro from DoubleDex. I cant rave enough about the fantastic, friendly, and prompt customer service, and Johns willingness to meet my budget restrictions and answer many questions!
