Now, you know where home is for me, but if I keep going uphill on the Billy the Kid Hwy, and hang a right at the Allsups across from the Adobe fine art onto Mechum looking right, I might not be able to resist stopping in! 🤗

The smallest of the three grocery stores here, and the go to place for beef i can actually afford. Thriftway has always had the best in fresh beef, and prices that are consistently better then the other two. Like all grocery stores, some items are priced higher or lower then others, but their specials are always worth stopping for. Staff has always been excellent (dont know how they manage to do that, Ive been going here over 15 years, havent been in an altercation once with an employee there), and to this day helpful and friendly. Definitely one of the staples of this community.

Always clean and neatly stocked shelves. The staff is also always very courteous and helpful. I enjoy shopping here.

John Brooks is still doing business the old fashioned way. They remind me of grocery stores from when I was a kid. They have great food items at a good price and personal service.

It was my first time going to this grocery store. It pretty much had everything you need to make a good meal, except a frozen section of vegetarian food. Yes they had a good selection of produce, but the squash & zucchini was old.

Mom and Pop grocery store. Very friendly folks. Lots of pre-made meals and sandwiches. Perfect to take to the cabins we were at across the street.

Great prices when they have sales. I shopped here a lot when I wanter to support a small business and not Walmart but you need to wear a mask no exceptions.

The store is clean and easy to maneuver around. It is rather expensive though. The prices made me want to shop elsewhere, but if your in a pickle, they do have a good selection.

Its the only store in ruidoso that enforces the mask so i will definatly shop there from now on. Good job thriftway!

Service was good but the manager is obnoxious and very loud and likes to cause a scene for no apparent reason. If the store expects to hold up, she needs to treat her customers better and not make obsurd demands towards her customers who just want to support the local community. Someone needs to tell her to brush up on the constitution and not harass customers for not wearing a mask. The same goes for one of the obnoxious employees. Should not have to refuse service for not wearing a mask. It’s a bad business strategy and it’s guaranteed to run any well respected business into the ground.

Well stocked and best of all, no wait since they dont have that many people in at once. Staff is very friendly and helpful as well.

Great little grocery store!

Some things are good, other things are overpriced

First time to visit this grocery. We got several pounds of their ribs and they taste great. The guy who helped us said he slow cooked them. I also got 6 cornish hen, dont know what im gonna do with them 😂 and a whole strawberry tres leches cake. We got everything we needed. Enjoyed the experience 😊

I have been a loyal customer for 2 years. Today 6-3-20, I was embarrassed by an employee. I had my mask on and was doing the best I could but I have asthma and its very hard to breath. He reprimanded me in front of other customers and then acted like he didnt believe me when I said I have asthma. The guidelines say if you have a lung issue then you dont have to wear the mask. I was disappointed and embarrassed. They probably just lost my business. He could have done it in a different way instead of yelling across the store.

This is a nice small local grocery store. They have all your basic needs although if youre expecting a huge variety it wont be here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They do so alcohol including hard liquor here.

Great smaller grocery store right off of Mechem. They have a deli and even make homemade breakfast and lunch items (great burritos!) These guys are a quick stop and much closer for the midtown area. Highly recommended.
