This place is a hidden gem! I work down the street from Grateful Table and in an area with many large chains and fast food restaurants, its nice to have a locally owned option with fresh options for breakfast and lunch. The lunch food is incredible. Ive yet to order something I didnt love. I highly recommend the roast beef and Havarti sandwich, the tuna curry croissant, and the chicken Caesar salad. Everything tastes so fresh and the flavors are amazing. I have not gotten any of the breakfast foods, coffee, or pastries yet so I cant speak on those, but I can only assume they wont disappoint. My only (small) complaint is that it can sometimes be difficult to reach someone via phone to place a takeout order. I only have a half-hour for my lunch break and while I completely understand the time it takes to make such awesome and fresh dishes, I cant always afford to wait in the restaurant for 15-20 minutes for my food to be prepared, so I prefer to call ahead to reduce my wait time and ensure I get enough time to actually enjoy my lunch before I go back to work. There have been a few times where Ive called to place a takeout order and wasnt able to get a hold of anyone, so I ended up not ordering from them those days. I think the call-ahead/takeout ordering process could be improved a bit.
So unassuming from the outside, but such a gem. The food is delicious and the serving sizes are nothing to scoff at. Their bakery display had everything from croissants to fruit tarts to fresh baked loaves. And I mean fresh baked. We literally saw them pulling fresh loaves from the oven while waiting for our to-go orders. Also, they have an in-house grow room??? i.e. theyre growing the lettuce/greens for their salads in a big room to the side of the dining space and you can peek your head in to look!
What a neat little bakery & Cafe. They also grow their own fresh greens on site. Must try the French toast.
Love stopping here when I’m in the area. The coffee is good and reliable, staff is so sweet and attentive, and the bakery is delish! The pumpkin cream cheese danish was sooo good, as is all the other bakery I’ve tried. Skip the chain coffee shops in the area and come here.
Good food. Friendly service, nice atmosphere. Needs more hanging wall decor. Little echoy when other people are talking. Otherwise overall experience was wonderful it was my first time dining here.
Phenomenal, personable customer service, delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely found a new local favorite!
I really want to like this place but had a bad first experience. I placed an order for a chai to go alongside an orange juice and pastry purchase. It was not very busy in the store and I finished by orange juice and pastry while waiting for the chai. I also saw two kitchen meals finish and go out. Wanting to be patient because this was not a chain operation, I decided after about 8 minutes to check in on my order. The barista admitted that she had completely forgot about my order and that it was her fault not the kitchens. She apologized and made my chai immediately. She said she had wondered what I was standing around waiting for. I know that mistakes happen, I only wish that greater attention would have been given to ensuring my experience ended as a positive one, not a negative one. A future free drink would have been a welcome way to say, our fault, let us make it up to you next time. There did not seem to be much concern that an error had been made on their end and I was walking away thinking less of their business.
I really prefer to support local businesses and I found this nice little place between where my friend and I live to study. Kinda cute, chuegy atmosphere with kind of an older crowd. I arrive first and order a chai at 11. My friend comes shortly after and we get to studying. We made an itinerary and wrote in a break for food. It’s 1230 and I double check they are open until 2 instead of 1 with an employee that passes by the table, shortly after my friend and I are confronted by who I am assuming is the owner. She asked us what we are planning to eat and we replied we weren’t sure yet, but we were planning to go up to the counter for food shortly. She states “you guys have been here for a couple hours and this is a restaurant not a study hall.” I reminded her we fully intended to get food. She finishes with “the kitchen closes in 45 minutes” and abruptly walked away. So we left. Here’s the deal, there were several open tables the entire time we were there and very little business… if they had been busy through lunch I would have been more understanding. But an average $5 chai and sass from the owner of a place that has mediocre business on a Tuesday just didn’t sit well with me.Edit- I decided to look at other reviews and this behavior has happened before.
Off the beaten path, but worth the stop in!This little bakery was a great find. Maybe too great since I think I developed a weekly stop for a pastry. Nice little place, not too busy, great pastries as well as breads, and serving breakfast and lunch. Eat in or carry out. They also seem to have items for sale from what looks like local artists which is awesome to see. Ill certainly go back, as the service has been very friendly and quick.
Waffle was inedible and rock hard and cold. Eggs were made of rubber. Even the mocha tasted off. I really wanted to like this place, but its just not possible.
I enjoy going to grateful table, I’ve visited regularly over the years. The food is amazing. I would highly recommend the chocolate almond croissant and the curry tuna croissant. On the beverage front, I personally don’t think the drinks are good. They’re fine, but there is nothing special about them and the chai tea lattes I’ve had there have been bland. Another reason why I’ve reduced the number of stars in my rating is because the staff seems to be inconsistent with knowledge about when and what they offer. For instance, on a Saturday a group of friends and I visited and we all separately placed orders. Two of my friends were able to place an order for sandwiches and then when a third friend went up to order, he was told that they don’t serve sandwiches that early in the day (10:30am). This is completely understandable that they don’t want to serve lunch early in the day, but why did they decided to serve sandwiches to some but not to others? A final reason why I reduced my rating is because there are not many wall outlets available in the dining space, a good thing to know if you plan to go here to study. However, there is ample seating in this restaurant which is a plus if you plan to visit here with a group.
The rhubarb pastry was amazing and the Italian sub was easliy the best sandwich Ive had in a long time. The food and bakery items are always top notch!
My go to destination for amazing pastries. Lunch is good too. Very comfortable baker/cafe.
Best kept secret for cakes. I literally dont go anywhere else for cakes. All cakes. Wedding, birthday, special occasion. ALSO the ability to adjust to allergens while still tasting incredible is unparalleled. This place slaps.
Weve started buying our bread from them: so tasty! Everything Ive had has been consistently great. And I feel save entering their store. Im looking forward to the Christmas brunch and treats we are ordering.
Food was delicious. Service a little slow. Would definately return.
Great French toast and coffee!
No wifi. At least none for customers because I see a guest and home network and I was told they dont have wifi.
Best lunch deli in town!
Lots of good beads and baked goods. Not as many sweet treats the time we went, but plenty of pastry options. Very good coffee drinks. Prices were pretty comparable to other similar places. Location is good, easy to find. Store was clean, comfortable and nice. Staff was friendly and helpful... Actually, they were all knowledge too, which was very helpful. Would go back!
I was very disappointed in my visit to The Grateful Table this morning. Management did nothing to enforce mask usage when a mom and her kid waltzed in with no face coverings. In-person dining tables are about 3 feet apart and no one at those tables was wearing a mask when they werent eating. My cappuccino was so-so. Dont waste your time.
This cafe is so cute, has delightful service and great food. Highly recommend!
Great coffee if youre there for breakfast try the French Toast it is amazing !
Great atmosphere.
Food is excellent. A tad pricey.
For gluten sensitive people who struggle to find good tasting bread...this sour dough is the fricken bomb!! I wont say it is gluten free, but the process helps those that are gluten sensitive. Most people that are gluten free will be able to eat this without penalty...if you know what I mean. And the taste and texture is amazing!!
Delish!
Absolutely a neighborhood gem! Wonderful pastries, coffee, & service. Everything here is made with care & love. You can tell from the first bite.
Ok
Yummy food. Minimal wait time. Must try desserts! Cant wait to visit again soon!
Good food and service. Cozy and clean dining area.
One of the best Cubans I’ve ever eaten! Also love the spinach quiche!
Poppyseed muffin was dry
Great food, friendly staff
Chocolate almond crescent is very good.
Staff is super friendly, and everything is delicious. I fully enjoyed my breakfast sandwich, which was huge. The whole restaurant is cozy and welcoming. Will definitely be back!
Nice spot. Reasonable parking. You are able to hear the person, with whom, you are at the table. I did not see any gluten, dairy or soy free options. Full disclosure I did not ask. I enjoyed the tea, environment and my company.
I love this place! Local and homemade. Anything you choose you cant go wrong. Such a friendly group of people, it feels like community. I recommend this place to anyone for lunch or a coffee date! If youre searching around the Rosedale Mall area for a quick bite, skip the fast food, go a little further and hit up The Grateful Table instead! You will not be disappointed.
These gracious and talented ladies (a mother/daughter team) deserve to be in a quaint corner cafe rather than a nondescript strip mall. If you are capable of getting “beyond the cover” you will delight in the scratch-baked croissants, quiche, and coffees. And don’t forget your fresh side salad with a classic balanced vinegrette that comes with the quiche. I’ll be back for sure. Support family-owned & local.
Yes! This cafe is a hidden gem! The croissants are so delicious and fresh! They serve coffee and teas!
Im disappointed that for 2 years since this place open, I didnt know about it. Talk about an amazing place. Incredible food, sweets to impress anyone with, the staff and owner Mary make you want to come back everyday. Perfect for working at on laptops or meeting a small group. Or just a great coffee to go and desserts for your next dinner party.
Mary is wonderful and the food is great so far as well.
Delicious sandwiches built beautifully and they hold up for a while if you get them for delivery or catering. Best sandwich I’ve had in a while. I got the chicken Ruben with hot peppers. Perfect texture on the bun
Was here over the summer time. The sandwich I ordered wasnt all that great - I swear I ordered a Reuben but I dont see it on the menu anymore. The service was fast and the person who took my order was very sweet. I can see why most people would rate this place higher but honestly I have had better sandwiches from Subway. Parking was a cinch, the lot is massive.I wish them nothing but the best. Great to see locally owned places.
One of the best bakeries in town. Their croissants are so buttery and flavorful, particularly the almonds croissant which has a crunchy crust. Have not seen it made like that anywhere else. Homey atmosphere with a friendly staff.
A very nice coffee house that seems to be usually busy with customers. The selection of coffee and specialties is great as is the food menu itself. (The quiche with salad is very yummy.) The staff is wonderfully warm and gracious. Stop by and see the cards, pottery, honey, jewelry and gifts made by local artists and farmers. If you have a small group gathering, you can even reserve the meeting room (10 people at most). The only drawback is that the noise level here can be quite loud with conversations, coffee grinders, milk steamers, etc. Nonetheless, its a vibrant community locale without the huge corporate presence of many coffee shops.
I had a Reuben sandwich and thought it was awesome. The coleslaw that came with it was good. My wife had a quiche and she said it was just OK. She was not feeling good and this may have something to do with her review. The server came out and saw aspirin on our table and offered my wife tea. I thought that was a nice gesture
Fantastic ambiance and service. Love the meeting room, the baked goods, the variety of foods/ snacks, and the quality of the coffee. I would have enjoyed a greater variety of light roast coffee - not just espresso drinks - but its a small complaint about a great local cafe!
I like that coffee shop. Layout and the art of the sitting area is nice. Serve good coffe, good pastries. The owner and people working there are very pleasant. I was very disappointed that they use paper plates, cups even to serve soup and sandwiches. In my opinion, it make this place feel cheap. I will not meet my friends there for that reason. Soup prices expensive. Wish them success!
A sweet spot to bring friends and family. Smells delightful walking in, and has a fun, simple vibe. The coffee is not bad, and the pastries are unique and fun! Not necessarily the warmest and softest things I’ve stuffed my face with, but tasty nonetheless.
I really appreciate having a little coffee shop and bakery thats not a national chain! They have delicious breakfast options.
Very first time here. I ordered a chicken philly and a roasted veggie sandwich. I specifically asked if there was mushrooms on the veggie. I asked if it could be made without. I was told YES. So i asked for that sandwich without. This was a to go order. I drove all the way home, excited to try because a client raved about them today, only to find out, my sandwich has mushrooms. I am very, very allergic. I tried calling but no answer and had to leave a voicemail. For $23 thats pretty upsetting.Edit: They did not call back.
Great food, nice staff. Very relaxed atmosphere. Easy access and parking.
A lovely place to catch up with a friend. Friendly service & good food!
Nice locale. Great bakery!! Quiet to do work if you need it! Give it a try.
Cute place. Had a bakery and some other items for food along with a little shop. I dont eat a lot of carbs and also dont do dairy so menu was pretty limiting for me but food was good and staff was polite.
It is a lovely place! Took me a while to discover it, living so near for so long. The woman who owns and operates it does a fabulous job. Everything is all natural and made fresh from scratch. CALLING ALL HIPSTERS
Ive stopped by on several occasions for pastries and coffee or a quick sandwich (mostly to go) and its always been a pleasant experience as far as these things go. But the cake...THE GLORIOUS UNICORN CAKE!!! Armed with nothing but a photo from pinterest, they did a fantastic job baking (creating? It was art.) what was the centerpiece of my daughters birthday party. It looked absolutely perfect! Whats more, it was baked to perfection as well; taste and consistency right on the money. Will definitely seek their services the next time we find ourselves needing a special occasion cake.
The moment you step in the door, there is a wave of delicious smelling treats! The ladies at the counter were very helpful. The breakfast sandwich was soooo good! Definitely one of my new go-to breakfast spots :)
Really great food, wonderful friendly service and room for a group to meet. Love this place!
The Grateful Table is a nice little coffee and lunch spot but I wouldnt go out of my way to come here. I had a vanilla latte that was excellent. It was sweet but thats how I like my drinks. I tried the brewed coffee and it was abysmally weak. They have a wide selection of pastries and sandwiches. The sandwiches are good but the pastries are all decorated with glitter, including the lemon bar. It doesnt detract from the flavor but does give the impression that one has recently made out with Ke$ha. The key lime cheesecake tasted old. It was decorated with a merengue swirl (with glitter) rather than whip and the key lime topping came off in one piece. The staff here are very welcoming. The atmosphere is pleasant but far from cozy. All in all, not a bad experience, just not an outstanding one.
Unfortunately, there was nothing special about this place. The food was good - I had the spinach and feta quiche which was light and fluffy - but it seemed to be microwaved right before serving. The drinks, however, were pretty terrible. I had a caramel latte which was overly sweet and tasted burnt. My friend had a chai tea and she described it as bland. The one thing that actually really bothered me about the restaurant is that they charge an extra $0.50 if you want a cup for water. When I asked, the lady told me that they do this to cut down on waste of plastic cups. Maybe they should invest in glass cups then...
Had latte and almond croissant today, both were good. Staffs there were very friendly. Just hope they can use the real plates and bowls to serve food!
A wonderful neighborhood place. Their pastries are delicious and beautiful, the food is great and the staff is very friendly. Recommended!
First timer here! Just spent my lunch hour at The Grateful Table! I had the Turkey Bacon Club with a side of chips. Very delicious. This is the kind of food you want in your body. The bread was fantastic! I also ended up leaving with a Almond Chai Latte in hand and 4 Caramel Bars to share with my coworkers. This is a great spot to have a restful lunch and share good company with.
I am a lover of great bakery So I have found myself driving to grand avenue To get the great bakery I crave. But owning a Salon in Roseville it is not convenient to drive to Grand ave. Now the great news the Grateful table is amazing first class bakery great price goodbye grand Avenue hello grateful table
Love their roast beef sandwich. Crave worthy!
Serene casual self service. Nutrition conscious lunch fare made to order. Irresistible array of baked deserts also with a bias toward healthy ingredients.
Cozy, delicious loose leaf tea and treats! Amazingly gracious staff who try to accommodate when seats run out during busy times. Worth the wait and perfect for group tea and conversations with friends.
My new favorite place! Wonderful atmosphere, amazing quiche, homemade breads, pastries that are out of this world, great coffee, a little gift area...I could go on and on. Not to mention, there is an Anchor Paper next door with a lot of fun things to get the creativity going!
Very delightful. Excellent hot sandwiches and delicious pastries. That musician has to go. Made my date and I (also a few others) felt as though we were being PANHANDLED - 9 July 16.
Gluten free bread good! Great salad. Amazing tea!
The biscuits and gravy was definitely homemade, so satisfying. Grabbed a cup of coffee too. Quick and easy. Great staff, great atmosphere & delicious food.
First time in there was an excellent experience. A Saturday morning met with great food and very personable and friendly service. Community and health minded. Very down to earth.
Had the egg Benedict... Original and delightful presentation, using a delicious light pastry rather than an English muffin. Loved the hollandaise too. As usual, excellent coffee and friendly helpful staff..
Excellent, friendly service, delicious and unique bakery and breakfast items in a relaxed setting. Fido will delight in the barbecued cats and other treats. Visit The Artists Corner for a variety of hand made jewelry, soaps, purses, baby items, pottery and more!
The owner forced my friend and I to give up our table when we stayed longer than an hour because they were busy. She wasnt very gracious about it. When I told the owner that this made me feel unwelcome and not want to return, she aggressively responded that it was HER business and that THIS was her busiest day, and that she needed to bring in MONEY. This may all be true, but it doesnt do much for customer loyalty. It certainly ruined *my* day.So... given that another reviewer had the same experience of being asked to give up their table before they were done... I wouldnt recommend this place unless you plan on being in and out. Its a cute place with gourmet pastries... but we wont be back after the way that we were treated.
Fried egg salad cross between Cobb and hot bacon salads. Very good.
This place is great. I was hoping for a small, artisanal bakery like this to open up near my house, and this place exceeded my expectations and then some. My favorite thing I tried from them was their chocolate hazelnut torte. For dog owners, they have dog treats too.
Be careful not to bring in food or drink....the owner will confront you in front of everyone else. They sell gluten free but do not have a separate area for prepping gluten free. You also have to purchase $5.00 to use a card.
Amazing pastries and quiches. The apricot soliel is perfect.
This is my favorite breakfast/lunch place in the area. I wish they were open longer on the weekend but the baked goods are fresh and delicious. Their coffee is excellent and their breakfast/lunch food is very tasty.
Nice and relaxed atmosphere. Had a wonderful raspberry chocolate croissant.
Awesome little coffee shop cafe, love theres hot sandwiches and soup. Great quite atmosphere. Good prices.
Ahhh! Great lunch spot.
I just tried the French Toast & bacon, and my husband had the Biscuits & Gravy, and woooooow! Best Ive had in a long time. Ive also had lunch items & pastries in the past, and Ive always been impressed. Love this hidden gem!
Enjoyed my food so much, staff is SO friendly, despite the new computer system which took extra time. to be expected! However, very disappointed to find out they now charge for tap water. I ordered another beverage, so I would have had to pay for two!
Consistently great food and friendly service! I love introducing friends & family to The Grateful Table.
Interesting, creative sandwich menu plus deluxe bakery items. Great selections of tea and coffee. Friendly, welcoming staff.
The cafe sits in an industrial area. The decor has a good authentic local coffee shop feel. It doesnt try to be something that it is not. Spinach quiche, biscuits and gravy, and French toast was liked by all. Americano was nice and strong.
Very friendly, so delicious! Amazing atmosphere! So incredible! Not enough words to describe how wonderful this place is. Presentation is beautiful!
I really enjoy TGT! Its a small locally owned place. The owner is there everytime I go. Shes great at coming up with new dishes, making any substitutions, and making it all tastes like quality comfort food. The decor is cute/comfortable and it even has a private meeting room that can be booked for free, I believe. The only down side is its tough to find unless you know its there. Its easy to drive right passed it if youre not looking hard enough.
Good food and Excellent, home made, GF bread (non- Cilliac)
