No air conditioning. The sales associate was putting fan out on the floor. The no air made shopping horrible experience for me

My true review is a 0. On Oct. 1, 2021 @ 3:48pm I walked into salon just to have my hair tapered in the back. The reception lady who looked to be of Indian descent was absolutely clueless about what I needed even after I demonstrated what I needed done and showed her picture on her phone becuz I had left mine in my car. Then she asked me to walk with her to the back and asked me to explain to another staff member what I wanted done. The other staff member explained to the same thing to her yet she still seemed puzzled and clueless. I left.

Im... just... sad... I was one of about six customers in the store on an August 2021 afternoon... Im 58yo, so remember the days with Penneys was relevant... I was surprised by how EXPENSIVE their everyday fare is... same items on Amazon or Walmart are much less. Obviously, todays consumers have already figured that out. The store was clean and well-stocked, but without any allure, is it perhaps time for this chain to pull the plug?

Sad situation. I hate that this is where we are. Lots of stock but no and I mean no staff to provide assistance in locating product. Saw one clerk in a check out enclosure who never even acknowledge our existence. Needless to say, we purchased nothing and have no plans to return.

Only thing i see that needs attention, is signs on entrance doors to parking lot say mask required, but near mall register, sign says if vaccinated, mask are optional.

There are some experiences that are right out of an episode of What Would You Do? Imagine you go into a JCPenney Hair Salon, for a scheduled hair appointment. Your hair stylist decided not to show up to work that day. The salon says it was the stylists job to contact you to cancel or reschedule the appointment. This is unlike any other salon on planet Earth, since front desk staff ALWAYS handle contact information and the scheduling.After the manager hears the odd exchange, she apologizes for the confusion, and offers to do your hair herself. She proceeds to leave dye on your head for 45 minutes. After washing and conditioning your hair, she searches through multiple cabinets. The manager then returns to you to say she has no access to a blow dryer. A JCPenney salon... Any salon anywhere... No blow dryer... This is not a punch line.You then remind the manager that her salon is located inside a JCPenney. There are dozens of professional grade blow dryers located in one of the aisles in the store. This is just mere steps away. The manager states she cannot purchase one of the JCPenney Store sold blow dryers, to dry your wet JCPenney Salon serviced hair.How does this nightmare fairytale end you ask??? You get tagged with a black dye mark across your forehaed, charged $45 for the dye job, and you leave JCPenneys Salon with a full head of deep conditioner, and a reluctantly provided towel around your neck. Its a scary day, when a real life trip to JCPenney is more horrific than fiction. Never Ever Again!!!

Big and tall looking for a suit pants I went there 3 months ago they had a very good selection since school start the woman section took over the mens section I recommend not to go there now

I waited in line for about 20 minutes only to have my sale merchandise rung up at the regular price. Then waited longer while the cashier called twice for a price check. When the sale price was verified I had to continue to wait for her to finish helping the customer she took while waiting for my price check. Finally gave up when she called once again because she had forgotten the sale price. Most inefficient operation!!!

I pulled into curbside pickup and let them know I was there. It said someone will be with you soon. No one came for 25 minutes then it canceled my pickup and said to try back later. I came back 20 minutes later the same thing happened. I had to go in to get my package. Not happy about that at all.

Love jcpennys, my father works here as eye doctor but will be fully retiring soon, so will miss it when hes done here.. Great customer service..Cynthia is awsome!!

The emoyees were great but I lost 5 lbs just waiting in line it was hotter than it was outside. Unbearable heat made my husband sick he had to wait in the car. I guess they dont believe in AC and only use the heater. Too bad would have liked to shop a little more but y the time I walked out of there my hair was soaking wet.

Its clean, but there is a LOT of not very attractive merchandise. They did have some really amazing clearance sales going on when I was there, and the ladies that checked me out were super nice.

It took 30 minutes to get a even exchange done that almost didnt happen. I wanted to exchange a pair of shoes given to me for Christmas. They wanted to give me $10 for a pair of boots that was on sale for 24.99. I would pay 14.99 to make a even exchange. I dont think so. Make sure you have a gift receipt to make a even exchange.

Did have what I was looking for

It is disturbing when you go into the store, you see what you want, get it go to the register and ring or scan up different from what you saw in the display. Then the cashier tells you that you have to mail in for your Rebate. Thats bad publicity.

Ordered from website it’s informing me it was deliverers on August 12 w a pickup of today but no one has any information in store or customer care.. NEVER WILL I EVER shop here again splurging on my self (not done often) and bam I can’t even get clear communication about when something’s coming

A little customer service and some open registers would go a long way.

I visited the store during a sale and found a beautiful jacket and blouse for a great value. The staff were quite friendly as well as the floor manager. I havent had a chance to get back there, but is in my plans very soon.

Went into Sephora and let me tell you I left HIGHLY SATISFIED! The employee, Caron was very informative and extremely helpful. Not only did he help me but made sure any other guest who came in was spoken to and assisted just as much. I have a great experience here!

Honestly I have always loved Penneys. I worked security for 5 years while in college. However their prices have skyrocketed out of control. I can get a pair of Jeans at Walmart for half the price. The other problem for me is wheelchair accessibility. I spent 40 minutes trying to shop and finally gave up. I couldnt get between racks and shelves, even the center isles were so full of merchandise I had difficulty getting through. I just gave up. I actually met my wife there 30 years ago. She was in makeup and I was security so we both truly loved the Penneys of the past. The ole grey mare aint what she used to be for sure.

Love JCP but the store is so hot that we broke out in a sweat and felt sick

Always having good sales and the ladies at the register are really friendly. I just think when they are gonna be extra busy they should have a few more employees out on the floor to help customers if needed. I did have a question but not one person available to help they all were on the register

The store did not honor the sale sign that was posted. The clerk in the home depart said the sale sign was printed in error. I believe she shouldve checked with management. It is not my responsibility to point out the stores errors. The sale price should have been honored.

They price match!! Good place for shoes. Come here if you are petite, plus size, or dress like an elderly person. Scour the clearance racks while you are here.

Store was basically neat; good inventory for the home and small appliances areas; appears they are merchandising early for black Friday; not many sales associates on sales floor; would definitely go back to store!

This is a great place to shop if you want good clothing and accessories for men, women & children at great prices! They always have sales going and often have extra discounts on top of the sale price!! I highly recommend this store for quality and prices plus a good atmosphere to shop in!

In my opinion everyone nearest the JCPenney in Rocky Mount I dont know about the other ones they are having a great sale just 50% off plus another 20% if you sign up for a JCPenney card its wonderful

Store was obviously in a closing the doors mode; cluttered & unorganized. Help was inadequate & multiple registers unmanned. Service was not good & several associates not pleasant, although one in housewares was customer focused. There was a line in online order pick up and service there was really slow. Not a good experience. Free parking available around the store.

I shop at JCPENNEY in Rocky Mount VERY OFTEN. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. Todays visit was different. The employees were great but the fragrance in the store was so overwhelming that by the time I paid for my purchase and left the store I was almost sick.. I had other places that I needed to go but had to come home instead. I like shopping at Pennys but this is very discouraging. I will try again but if I have the same experience I may reconsider future visits. Thank you..

Had my account for a year never missed a payment and JC Pennys closed my account cause of my credit score going down. People credit scores go up and down all the time. I never approved running my credit anyway. And to close an account that is in good standing is bad customer service. I will never shop there again.
