Waste of time... Better antiques and collectables options in Rockford off of East State Street. We did not enjoy our visit unfortunately. Looked like a cute little place online.

Today Feb18, 2021 I bought what was portrayed on line as an Isabel Bloom Celtic Cross with a Green Shamrock in the middle of the cross. When I picked it up from Oddly Enough Curio Shoppe I received an Isabel Bloom Celtic Cross with an uncolored shamrock. I told the owner, who handed to me, that I thought the shamrock was green and she told me I was wrong. She only had one cross and it hung in her house for years and this one she gave to me was it. Well I thought I was wrong with the color so I paid for it. When I got home I discovered I was correct and she lied about it. I have called her to get an explanation and I have posted twice but she has not responded. I urge potential customers to be careful when dealing with RaChelle C Holmberg, owner of Oddly Enough Curio Shoppe in Rockford, IL.

Some interesting items from various times and places. Things kinda crammed hodge-podge and tricky to navigate. Dont seem overly willing to bargain, but its conveniently located near the roundabout and you can find an interesting treasure if youre willing to dig for it and pay the asking price.

It is not an oddities or antique shop. Its a hoards house. You literally cant walk through this place and they expect you to dig through piles of stuff on the floor.

Lots of neat stuff, very friendly owners. They do have a lot of inventory in every nook & cranny, but that is what makes shops like this great. i bought several things and will stop again on my next trip through Rockford.

If you were lucky enough as a child to have had an eccentric aunt with an old house full of pets and treasures, then you’ll feel like you’re stepping back in time when you walk into Oddly Enough Antiques. If you didn’t, then make up for lost time now and go in! Pet birds twitter merrily and if you’re lucky, you might get to see Dally, the Terrier in Charge. There’s so much to see your eyes hardly know where to land – but I recommend the beautiful lighting, shell objects, and funky finds from the 50s, 70s and 80s. Buy gifts here, and your friends will relive their past instead of a past trip to Walmart. Moreover, they’ll encounter something else they might have forgotten-- friendly owners that actually know their merchandise and selected it from their own visits to auction houses and flea markets, instead of whatever China is pushing this week.If you value old, different, fun and funky merchandise, great service, and friendly owners, put down that tacky catalog right now and head for Oddly Enough Antiques!

Im the owner of Oddly Enough Antiques, please see and like us on FaceBook. We own our property, which allows us to keep costs down, antiques are not for everybody. Our prices are as low as we can make them, but the most IMPORTANT thing is we are a small LOCALLY OWNED business who try REALLY hard to fill the shop with INTERESTING things. Antiques HOLD THEIR VALUE.If you have the time, come on in, we are worth the trip. Wed LOVE to meet you! But I cant promise you one of my two small parrots wont toss a cracker, or that the canary wont sing.

Disclaimer: I am the son of the owners and only had worked on few occasions minding the store over a decade ago. This is an excellent place to shop for historical antiques. And to watch this business keep going for years and years just when others had folded tells me that this ma and pa shoppe is doing something right. I had referred my friends to this shoppee when they need something antique and do not wish to shop at the Walmart for some cheap-o item. They had complimented on how they were treated (very wonderfully) and is thrilled to see that owners can do sign language making it easier for the deaf customers to conduct the business. This is one of Rockford treasures that I think everyone should at least check out the place once in a while. And no, I am not being biased because its my parents business....it is just that they are very hard-working and productive members of the local business community with an invested interest in antiques and had treated the customers right all the time. It cannot be disputed when it comes to the customer satisfaction as I had witnessed on many occasions.I encourage the review readers to ignore other bad reviews made against this wonderful shop in question because they had personal bias against the owners that had nothing to do with the servicing experience that the shop happens to provide. I would implore you to visit this place and see for yourself why it has been part of the Rockford landscape for over a decade and has been a fixture of the neighborhood with a lot of positive feedback seen on Ebay and others. After all, this is a family business that one dont get to see everyday. Especially in this world of major department stores peddling off cheap products; This is excellent place to shop for something that your mother or grandmother might like. Or something that your friend or you would like to have. Or something that is waiting for you to discover after you had lost a similar item decades ago? One might never know.A bonus in visiting this shop is that you get to meet the actual owners. How often would you get to do that when you visit a local Walmart or Kmart? You would get to see their business acumen that keep your interests in mind. You would find them to be very personable and very friendly. They would be willing to search for something you want. They wanted nothing but to see you leave with a smile on your face. Do not be hesitant to ask them the questions. That is their goal which is to help them keep you acquainted with the products you are looking for by be familiar with your desires. Please visit this place next time you are in the neighborhood.

I didnt mind the birds at all but I feel that the store isnt accommodated to us customers. It is hard to walk through the aisles and I was scared of breaking something. There is just a lot of stuff... The prices on the items are kind of pricey and really wished there was some type of sale or price reduction.
