Independently owned, local grocery store offering a limited amount of food items for the quick in and out needs. Store has an older feel and smell, but clean and organized. Fresh cuts from the meat department and a nice selection of deli meats and salads. Basic selection of produce and some local bakery items. Small beauty and health aisle. Shop the sales as items tend to be higher than other neighborhood grocery stores. Staff were friendly and checkout a breeze.

I just cant imagine a local grocery store providing a better range of products service and pricing than I generally at Silver Lake Foods. Do they have it all? Nope. Are there prices the very best across the board, probably not, but Ill never know. I know one thing, they have the best value on the meats and produce that I commonly look for. Oh, and Im very happy with the attached Silver Lake Liquor store. Go there. By the Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon. For 14 bucks, its the best wine I can find.

BY FAR the best grocery store in Rochester. The best meat. The best produce. BY FAR the best service! AND...you can get them to do the shopping for you AND get it delivered for a measly $10!!! I AM NOT KIDDING!!! $10!!! PLUS.....you are keeping your money local instead of shipping it to Iowa (HyVee) or Arkansas(Muslimart). You will pay a little more for some common items but, at least the money stays here.... SHOP AT LOCALLY OWNED BUSINESSES FIRST!!!

It’s a really nice grocery store. You can find pretty much everything in there. They usually have good meat deals every week. One thing you must be aware is that they don’t take MasterCard.

Its 2 blocks from a apt. The employees are, super nice, and helpful. Its the, cleanest grocery Ive, ever been in. Only thing I xan say, and I know its unavoidable, the prices are, high.

Of course they are always very helpful and if you even look like your confused and cant find what your looking for, Gilbert will pick up on it before you have to ask, its like a small town grocery store feel yet being able to meet all your needs as big town shopping center.

Silver Lake Foods is an awesome little local gem. From good discounts, great products as someone who likes baking from scratch it has every little thing I need. The meat department is amazing theres always a new selection of cuts or specials and they sliced a packaged ham for me(which is a great cost cutter if youve seen the disparity in price between prepared meet and bulk meat) I even found a good shoe polish and waterproofer for my boots, that i hadnt been able to find at a big box store.Great, local, fresh and affordable.

Good sale on beef today and some other items. Everything was well stocked. Parking is close and easy.

All the other stores were jam packed. I was able to locate all items I needed and had quick check out.

I like your grocery store because its not so big like Walmart and Target. I am 58 years old, and its so far to get an item and another item at these big box stores.

Great little local supermarket. Small, so the selections are a little limited. But it makes it easy to get in and out, and when Ive price checked them against the big stores, theyre surprisingly cheaper, at least for staple items . They have baked goods from the local bakery down the street, and their deli and meat counters are fantastic. The attached liquor store has great deals on wine, too.

Had to redact my previous positive review. Between them not accepting my credit card (which is current and in good standing) or my debit card (they claimed it was declined, I checked my balance immediately upon exiting the store and it was far more than adequate to cover the small purchase. On top of this, the staff were incredibly rude during checkout, there were a large number of molding or otherwise spoiled/expired foods on display, and the results from getting meat here have been sub-par. I wont be coming back again and I recommend you dont either.

Small enough that you can find things but with a good selection. The meat is great and the personnel make you feel like family. Very clean

Love this place! I used to go there in the 60s with my Mom when I was a whipper snapper, brings back great memories. Love the meats, especially the pork cuts. Rob the friendly butcher will cut whatever you want...I have him cut me 1 thick pork steaks for smoking. Good deals on meat. Neat, clean, friendly folk. Harkens you back to a better time. This is my hometown neighborhood grocer. Best in town, greatest veggies and butcher with shocking low prices that beat big box every day. Easy in and easy out, love my Silverlake foods since we moved here in 63.

Almost all the produce they sell is moldy. I live very close to this grocery store & wish I didn’t have to drive to Hyvee every time I needed a bag of carrots. I’ve checked back multiple times & mentioned it to some of the staff but it seems the problem will never be fixed. If you’re looking for produce definitely don’t go here.

Use to shop there when I lived over there

Smells a little funky as you walk in, but is a nice clean place to shop. I always shot here over walmart and their choices of deli meats are always great options. Some of their delas are nice and they even have an organic healthy food section in the back with some interesting potions that even Hy-Vee doesnt have. I love to explore some of their special deals that can beatout walmart in value.
