This used to be full of the latest magazines and news papers - they had everything. Now its a hangout for panhandlers, winos and loiterers from the project building across the street. The staff is always very friendly and helpful which I dont understand but good for them. They do make deli sandwiches and have some basic food staples but I mostly avoid the place except in an emergency because of the riff-raff you have to walk through. Its not dangerous at all but a lot of mentally ill and really dirty people patronize the place. Id like to see it become a cleaner, more mainstream place again but the client demographic there makes it tough.
Many native Rochesterians remember what a wonderful place World Wide News was years ago, and it was known far beyond Rochester as a place like no other. Sadly, under the current ownership, which is incapable of running this storied institution as it should be, this is no longer the case.
This building used to be packed with newspapers and magazines from all over. Any title you wanted they had. Now its a mere shell of what it once was and is used more for Quik Pick and lottery plus a limited convenience store. Such a shame to see it waste away.
The place is way over price, the workers are so mEan and rude thay it make you never want to go back in there again.I dont recommend anyone to visit this place at all un less you wa.the to feel very unpleasant.
Some of their stuff is way overpriced. $10 for a 12 pack of Faygo soda? No Thanks. Also some of the staff there are rude and disrespectful. There are always bums and drug addicts loitering out front or near it asking for change, gets very annoying.
One of the workers towed my car when I was dropping off a resume for a job interview. When I asked where my car was, she started laughing. So, not really a fan
