Had amazing iced latte (perfect amount of coffee for me) and heated danish. Was a perfect evening!I generally rate coffee shops based on how good my pee smells after having the drink. The 5 stars for that smell. 😂 (Dont judge me :p)

The staff was very friendly and the drinks were delicious. The Decor was homey, but it definitely needs some minor improvements such as fresh stain on the floor. Looks a bit shabby. Especially since the walls look recently painted. That aside, I love the subtle touches like the cute changing password for the WiFi and the tip suggestions. I think they should go all out with humour. Definitely a great safe haven for the lgbtq+ community. Must check it out if you’re visiting the area.

Ever since I found equal grounds back in college I absolutely love it. Their seasonal specials are always amazing, the staff is always so welcoming, and the space is so inclusive. Since moving to the south wedge we often walk over with our dog! Its such a delight to have such a positive, welcoming business in the community. Oh and I cant forget all the delicious coffee, tea and baked goods! The fall Witches Brew is my favorite!

Just went there today for the first time. The coffee house was so comfy and cozy. Loved the board game section and of course the food and coffee were great too! Cant wait to go back. A true little gem in the neighborhood.

So this is as close to my dream coffee shop as I’ve ever come in Rochester. #1, Truly quality coffee, wonderful people behind the counter who don’t mind getting it just right, and in front of the counter, too. There is seating with good light if you need to work and more cozy if you want to sit and talk. Great music, the perfect menu to sustain a day’s work, and dog friendly too? Yup, that too. Please open one in Ithaca 😉

Visited Rochester for work for a few nights and felt right at home after visiting Equal Rights. Friendly staff, incredible coffee. Our dogs loved the cookies. We’ll be back, thank you!

The lady who took my order was very sweet, but my smoothie lacked flavor and was VERY watery. For almost $6?? I feel like I got robbed of my money. Such a cute cafe though with very welcoming people.

I stopped in here because I had stopped in the area quick for something and I never get to stop around because I am busy with my kids but I stopped by and my breakfast sandwich was amazing and my coffee was delicious and perfect. The only thing I wish was the large was bigger because my coffee was so good haha. I wish you guys were closer to me!

The food and coffee at this cafe was always amazing - but recently, they have renovated the indoors and it looks bomb! I went to school in Rochester for four years and we would sometimes come here for a late night hot cocoa, dessert, and games or a weekend breakfast. They used to have old chairs, tables and couches, slightly worn out. I went to visit a friend in Rochester and we visited the cafe again - instantly loved the new look! The staff is very hospitable and friendly. They are a LGBT safe space cafe promoting inclusion which makes my heart happy! It is a great place to work out of or play board games with friends.

Had a great experience this morning. We just moved to the area and the staff provided some great recommendations of places in Rochester to check out. They also let us bring our dog in while ordering to go, which was really nice. The cafe mocha with homemade whipped cream was great.

The people here are very friendly and I like the cafe mocha and frappe better than Starbucks. It is only a block away from my home and I walk my dogs frequently. Equal Grounds always has a water dish and treats for dogs. My dogs and I love Equal Grounds!

Wanted to go on an adventure after getting the COVID vaccine and came upon this place. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. I met the owner and told her I was from Buffalo amd she couldnt be more helpful in suggesting drinks and being hospitable. I recommend anyone to come here to relax and enjoy some great food and coffee. I am glad to have come here.

Ordered a “smoothie” was served ice with syrup flavoring and no fruit. That’s not a smoothie, that’s a snow cone.

Equal Grounds is a great place to gather with friends or hang out and study. The clientele is very diverse and the staff is always friendly. I cant speak to the quality of their coffee, but they have a good selection of loose leaf teas (both caffeinated and herbal). Be sure to check out their website calendar as they also frequently hold game nights and host events.

I go every week on my way home from work, and it is, without fail, always amazing. Their hot drinks are rich and flavorful and are always the perfect temperature? Theyre never too hot or too cold and they make my week. 10/10 would reccomend

I really like this place. The coffee is good, the desserts are delicious. The staff is friendly. Its really comfortable, unpretentious. Dont come here expecting an upscale atmosphere. Its more about being a welcoming comfortable place for a wonderful diverse crowd. Enjoy!

This is the best coffee shop around. The owner is great and the shop is clean and tidy. Everyone is welcome here. They have lounge chairs, books, puzzles and games, and of course COFFEE! They also have lovely smoothies for the hot summer days!

Could not love this place more. 10/10 have to visit while in Rochester especially if youre into home grown tea, good espresso and better service. Music is always amazing, lots of events and the best environment for all people.

The coffee wont win any awards, and the menu hasnt changed in a long time. But the ambience cant be beat if youre LGBTQ. Great for meeting up w friends or hook-ups.

The guy at the register was very rude, unwelcoming and unprofessional. Felt very uncomfortable around him. He didn’t ask us if he could help us while ordering even though we were waiting for over 5 minutes and then just waved his hands around when our order was ready. The workers lack customer service skills, definitely should change the staff.The place itself is very cute with pretty interiors, food was not bad!

Equal Grounds is locally owned and operated. Its a cozy, comfortable place to meet friends for coffee or a bite to eat, but is equally comfortable to go to alone. A great spot to get some work done, read, or just hang out and chat. You will not feel rushed out the door.

I used to love coming here. They used to sell books there but no more. Not friendly here, customer service needs improvement. A cool place to play board games though. Coffee is fine, lemonade was horrible.

The chocolate cake tasted like oreo cake. It was fluffy and light. The frosting was just right portion.

Cappuccino was cold, almost room temperature when I got it. For the breakfast sandwiches the egg looks like its cooked in a microwave. The place is fairly dirty as well.

Located in two turn of the century storefronts, it is roomy and comfortable. A pulse is the local art displayed on the walls along with Equal Grounds and LGBTQ merchandise. Equal Grounds has been a staple in the South Wedge neighborhood for many years which is a testament to its wonderful coffee, food and service as well as the great atmosphere.

One of my favorite places. During the day its the best environment to get work done and a great social scene at night. They serve fair trade coffee from Coffee Connection so you can feel good about where your money goes.

Always amazing. Been a handful of times, the service there is phenomenal and theyre so sweet. I got a wrap for the first time abd honestly that was better than food ive paid way more for. These guys know what theyre doing. A wonderful group of people, and it definitely helped that I was with my girlfriend and our wonderful mutual friend.
