Just want to send a big thank you to Kyle in sales in Red Wing. I was looking for a new sxs, and was sent there from another Odes dealer in River Falls. The sxs I test drove there is not trail legal, so salesman sent me to Kyle. Boy am I glad. He was knowledgeable, kind, and took the time on a 100 degree day to let me test drive some models. Bingo! The new Honda 1000 Pioneer was my dream come true! I added a few bells and whistles in the Service dept, had them all sent to me and now I have Splat my new toy. My wife and I bought a brand new 2018 South Bay 523 RS pontoon boat from River Valley Marine (Rochester) in February 2020. We took delivery on April 8th, 2020. The boat was initially missing a table, which was sent to us. After we put the pontoon in the water, we went to cover it with the cover that it came with and noticed that there were many snaps ( 10 ) missing and the cover was torn. We contacted the dealer and got the run around from many people that work there. I finally talked with the director of operations, Mike Wooden. He listened to my story and said to send pictures via text and he would see what he could do. Its been many weeks and no word from him. The cover should be under warranty. They wanted me to send in the cover and they would repair it. If you buy a new boat, you should get a new cover and shouldnt have to repair it. The manufacturer warranty on the cover is 5 years from date of purchase. I contacted the manufacturer of the boat (South Bay ) and talked with a Theresa, who said they have already warrantied the cover twice for River Valley Marine. Once in February 2018 and once in March of 2018. Theresa from South Bay told me that the dealer (River Valley ) would have to warranty the cover. Still waiting patiently for my brand new cover.Update (7/26/20) I have since then received a brand new boat cover from River Valley Power & Sport. My review has changed from 1 star to 3 stars.

Drove down from Duluth MN, to get the UTV I wanted. I was not disappointed the service was great. paperwork was already when I got there just signed it they handed me the keys help me load my Can-Am on my trailer tied it down, took a quick picture, fist bump, and all we went. It was a fantastic day with those guys. Ask for Aaron tell him Butch sent you!

I purchased a Used jet boat, sight unseen and was a little nervous in doing this. Upon arrival at the Rochester location, Mike took me through everything on the boat and just to make sure i was satisfied, he had the shop to a full service on the engines! I live 5hrs away, but was worth every minute of the drive when I get to deal with a staff like this. I never expected such a good experience after the sale.I 100% recommend these guys and will hope to do business with them again soon! Thanks for everything Mike!

Wife and I were looking to buy our first boat, she saw 2 that she wanted to compare (one used and one new). She called the dealership and made sure the new one was going to be there. We were assured it was, so she left work early and I met her there. Once we got there we waited for about 15-20 mins before anyone would help us. Once someone was not so busy talking to their co workers they came and offered assistance. We asked for the salesman we were talking to and found out this was him. We asked to see the two boats, the used one would not work for our family like they said it would have. The new one wasnt even there! I asked him why, and he said it was a mistake. I can accept that; however, he immediately started on showing us boats we didnt want. I reminded him of this, and what our budget is. We were told that 20k or less would not be a good pontoon. He kept trying to push payments over a long time. After feeling like we were being led on, we left quickly. For giggles we went to another boat dealership in the town and 2 hours later left with OUR pontoon.

Aaron and Tiffany drop the ball on a trade for a brand new HD10 limited. Aaron had knowledge of trade 2 months in advance and suggest paying it down to help trade which was done. Tiffany being the finance manager missed that we had a trade and said it didn’t show up on credit report 🤔. Two employees missed something that was openly disclosed on phone and through text. I later got a call from Tiffany saying she missed that we had a trade and told us to pay off our trade so they could have the lean released! A couple months later of their screw up not being solved I got a call from a manager threading legal action. My wife and I will never do business here again and suggest others to be careful when doing business here!

River valley sold me a boat that had previously overheated. I was told it never had any problems and was in great condition. After having ig out for less than 3 hours the head gasket blew. I called to ask them why they lied, if they would help to make it right and was told repeatedly, its a 22 year old boat, what do you expect? I would never go to this place or recommend it to anyone.

I asked for an email price quote on a machine. They called me and left a message to call them. I sent another request for an email and they text messaged me. If you wont give an email quote then dont make it an option on your website. I did end up purchasing a machine there and when I got it home the windshield washer fluid is almost empty and gas is a quarter tank. Salesman said he didnt know the washer fluid was low and they only put in a little bit of cheap gas so the customer can fill up with better gas if they want.

Garret McLaughlin is AMAZING!!! Very knowledgeable about both snowmobiles and boats. We have been stopping in to see Garret for a few year now and FINALLY got our fist pair of sleds this past weekend, had an issue on Sunday afternoon, was able to get ahold of him and he walked me through the problem and got the sled running again. He also followed up with me again on Monday to make sure that everything was still going well! Garret really cares about his customers!!! The only positive thing I have to say is Garrett is an excellent salesperson. This place will sell you anything you can pay for, however, dont expect any customer service after the sale. First boat purchase took 4 trips to the courthouse and 4 calls to River Valley before the paperwork was completed correctly enough to get the boat registered. For some reason we thought it would be a good idea to get the second boat from them. They upped their game and got the paperwork correct on the second try. Three years later we get a letter in the mail requesting the title on the boat we traded in, yep, three years later and they had the title when the trade was completed. However, now there was a rush to get the title. A BIG rush. Wanted me to go take care of it a week after knee surgery. Asked if I couldnt have a friend go for me if I was unable to get there. Called every week to see if Id had a chance to get the title. After getting the title I had a simple request. A second key on a lanyard with a clip for the current boat. After some uncertainty if this was possible I got a call wanting me to pay the difference between what I paid to get the title and the cost of the over-priced second key! Are.you.kidding.me?!? Let me get this right, its OK for me to take an hour away from work, drive 30 miles round trip to the courthouse and then mail them a title for which I paid $12.50 and they want me to pay the difference on an overpriced $30 key and lanyard?? So my time is worth nothing, and my truck doesnt cost anything to drive 30 miles (dont forget I did this 4 times with the first boat), and stamps are free? But dang, they need retail price for the little key that probably cost them a buck! Geez.

Do NOT buy anything from this place (Rochester store). We said we would take the boat on Thursday morning and wed be there Saturday morning at 9 to pick up, when they told us we couldnt get it that day. Arrived and they were still detailing the boat. The boat had come from the Minnetonka store (apparently right before we arrived?) and there was no cover, no spare tire for the trailer, no fire extinguisher, the bimini cover has two rips and there were 2 cracks in the gel coating, and rust on the trailer. Keep in mind the boat has 3 hours on it! Also, the registration for this boat was NOT there, or the owners manual. Even despite all this we bought the boat as they were supposed to mail the stuff out Monday (registration, tire, cover, etc). It is Thursday and nothing has arrived and we cannot get an answer on when the stuff will ship out. They did offer to fix the gel coating this fall, so that was about the only plus, as they should on essentially a brand new boat. We should have listened to all the red flags about this place! Take your business elsewhere, these guys are unorganized and do not follow up properly.

On 3/7/17 I purchased a slightly used (258 miles) 2016 Polaris Ranger from River Valley and Power. Unbeknowst to me the the prior owner had modified the air box and installed an after market air filter. I primarily use my Ranger as a yard tool. On 7/3/18 I went on a trail ride in dusty conditions resulting in a blown engine (1,400 miles) and a $2,400 repair bill. River Valley and Power has chosen to take zero responsibility for selling me a nearly new Ranger with a modified air box and filter. Proceed with caution when buying used equipment from River Valley.

I was tasked with winterizing my boss boat, I called Universal Marine and RV, I was quoted a price over the phone, only to be told in person, that they refused to do the service i requested at the price they quoted. They asked me to leave and never come back, so I ended up here at River Valley.These guys gave me a cheaper price to do the work, and honored that price when i brought it in. The work was done quickly and done well.If you need service on your boat, bring it to these folks, they have honesty and integrity unlike their competition.

Be careful dealing with these people. Sent pictures of my trade in (ATV) and was given a trade in offer. I arrived they went through my machine found a couple minor things wrong with it, (shocks, a seal and a few bushings) nothing major mechanical. They dropped the original offer $1300. They had someone waiting to purchase the machine I had put a hold on, so I wasted half a day driving up there to find out about their terrible business practices. I will be sure to forget about recommending this dealer to my friends or when I purchase a new machine in a couple years

This past year I have purchased two Yamaha Waverunners and a Bennington pontoon from River Valley Power and Sport in Rochester. They have been a real joy to deal with. Rod, Mike and Eric bent over backwards to make sure we had a good buying experience. The prices were the best in the market. When I had a minor issue with the original motor on the pontoon they quickly offered to replace it with a new 2017 motor. I highly recommend doing business with these guys!

I havent been there is years so not sure if anything has improved. I was looking at helmets... no one ever came up to see if you needed help or offer any assistance. Just not worth their time. I came in another time to get a quote on cycle service (valve adjustment) and the dude had no answer for me. He goes to the back, makes me wait 15+ minutes and then throws some pie in the sky quote more than double Cycle City (I thought they were the worst in town). I dont see how they ever get any business. Seriously!

I dealt with Jones and would recommend him to anyone who wants the attention you deserve whether spending $30,000 + on a tritoon like we did, or $10,000 on a bike... Jones did a great job and realized that I like to communicate through texting because of my busy job. He is compassionate to the end, and didnt over promise...he over delivered! The finance guy Tom, i believe was also top notch. Overall, the only negative is that they are so busy because of past positive customer experiences, that they have outgrown their location in Rochester! Great job Jones. Dont ever take your bike into this shop. It has taken over THREE weeks for a simple task of something that would take a normal shop a single day. Every call there has been a new excuse. They do not check parts before using them. They work on their own time, the customer is not a priority. They are very highly overpriced. Do not take your watercraft in to the service dept!! I took my 2003 Sea Doo in. I asked them to find out what was wrong with it and let me know. After 4 days with no contact from them, I called. They had called Sea Doo to find out what to do. They found out what was wrong, and had ordered the parts without my approval. When I asked what the repair cost was going to be, Chris didnt know, and didnt want to get me a price. After another 4 days, and a 4th of July weekend coming up, I called again to find out why it wasnt done yet. Chris stated it was done, but again, didnt know the total. When I came to pick it up I was handed a bill for over 500 dollars. When I asked Chris what was done that it cost so much, he read what was on the bottom of the sheet. I can read myself, but he couldnt and didnt offer any further explanation. I was very upset, but let it go so I didnt make a scene. I called back a week later and talked to the Service Manager, Dean, and explained my feelings. He said he needed to pull the work order and would get back to me. Over the next 3 business days, I called 4 times, with no response from him, he was in the office, just wouldnt call me back. On the 4th day I spoke to the store Manager, Mike. Went through it all again, he was able to pull up the work order and review it in less then 5 minutes. During the hour long conversation about the bill, he asked me what would make me happy, but never let me tell him. I will never again take anything to the service dept. They over charge and bill time for things not approved to be done.

I purchased a used ranger utv and a trailer from the rochester location back in November. I bought the trailer site unseen. They tell me it has very few miles on it and it is basically new. When I go to pick up the trailer it has four worn out tires along with other mechanical issues. I spent $22,000 in total for the items. It is February and I still have not received a license plate for my trailer. I have called several times and was told each time that I would have it by Friday. Weeks go by and I call every week to see what the problem is. Mike the vice president does not return my message either does my salesman Jonesey. When I finally got to talk to Mike he stated he didnt return my call because he had nothing to tell me. I than call the president John who has not yet returned my call. During my conversations with the receptionist I learn that they neglected my license plate issue do to the boat show taking priority. I tried to return trailer but they refuse. I cant even explain my frustrations with words.

This is the e-mail I sent to themHello,I am not sure if this is where this e-mail needs to go, but I have some complaints about service I wanted to voice.I was going to let it go and just not use you guys anymore, but I decided not to. A few weeks ago I brought my boat in to have you guys go through it and make sure it was 100% lake ready. My family and I were heading to the lake which is 4 1/2 hours north and were going to use the boat. To me, and I reiterated it to the gentleman who helped me, meant making sure it is ready to use and everything is working as it should be. I also asked him to have his guys check the trailer and lights to make sure it is road ready.When we hooked the trailer up the lights were NOT working as they should be. I kind of blew that off as we had a long drive ahead of us. The thing that really bothered me though was when we got to the lake the boat was not working at all. It was bogged down and would barely move. It did eventually start moving Ok for a little while. Then just died. Would start, then die, then start, and so on. We were not able to use the boat for the whole rest of the time we were there (which was another 3 days out of a 4 day trip), then had to tow it to the dock and take it out. I normally get 1 long weekend like that a summer to go to the lake and enjoy time with family, and we wanted to use the boat, but could not. This is actually the second time this has happened with your service department. It also happend about 3 years ago with the same boat and we couldnt use it when we were there. $160 (which is what it cost me at your place)may not seem like a lot of money to you, but it is to us. We found a guy up by the lake to look at it, and he found the carbs need some work, and the oil change (which you guys told me was done last fall) need to happen. He is a friend of family up there who trust him and would not mislead us. That was a couple more hundred dollars out on my pocket. That is a lot of money. I have done a lot of work with you guys and I can tell you that is done. I wont go there again, and I will let people I know not to go there as well. I am in the same business as you but with cars, and have been for almost 10 years. I would hope you guys would reimburse me my money that I just gave you.
