I have my moments where I long for the days in college when I studied for hours in a coffee β shop... a long time ago. Then I quickly snap out of it as alerts and notifications come through my phone and the moment is gone.RND is one of those Coffee shops that is tucked away but worth the stop. Now I know RND is here so when I am on a bike ride or run πββοΈ on the 30 mile trail following the river, I can stop by and get a macchiatto.Definitely recommend π and will be back.
Quiet when I went in this morning for my first time...more quiet than normal the young lady behind the counter said. I promised to make a great review. My brown sugar spice iced latte and pumpkin spice banana nut bread were an amazing breakfast! Thanks Michael Bailey for the gift card during connect group & thanks RND for an amazing experience... I will be back!!!
Delicious dirty Chai and vegan muffin! Great service and welcoming!
Unique house made flavors but love that they are also subtle and do not overpower their good coffee!! Owner has culinary experience and it definitely shows through the intricate and house made flavors & options. We actually found out about this place out of state! A coffee shop in Charleston South Carolina was using RND as their rotational monthly roaster. They talked RND up so we just had to go.
One of the best coffee shops in the city! Have never had a bad drink from them. Smooth nitros, creative lattes like the iced seaweed and tasty treats. Im not a huge fan of the breakfast bagel that everyone seems to love but the avocado toast is on point! Take a stroll along the greenway while youre in town!
Do yourself a favor and order the Veggie Breakfast Sandwich. Its one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten...and it was freaking huge! The coffee was amazing too!
Amazing coffee shop with a great vibe. Rode my bicycle from The Greenway an indulged in some of their delicious coffee cake.... Do yourself a favor and get some if you are there! Will definitely be a return customer. The two girls at the counter was super kind as well.
Always a favorite in Roanoke, I will got out of my way to go here! I have never been disappointed! Q and his staff are very knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions. Such a cute shop and have classics but also fun flavored lattes. A favorite of mine is the toasted peanut latte (taste like peanut brittle).
Great staff, delicious espresso but the pour over is not great. Maybe just a one time thing but all around would recommend to try if you are in the area.
Terrific Coffee if you are a true connoisseur! Many options from pourover to espresso and pastries. Well worth the drive from 81 to get something other than Starbucks!
RND is easily the best specialty coffee shop in the region. The baristas are incredibly friendly and knowledgable. There is a wide variety of roast levels and tasting notes available to please both classic and adventurous coffee drinkers. The coffee is roasted well and extracted beautifully. I will definitely be making this my go-to shop when Im in town π
Every time we pass through Roanoke we stop here. Does not disappoint. Excellent coffee, homemade syrups, cute place to chill. Keeps me awake for my travels!
Cute little cafe with great drinks and great service! They have an excellent selection of coffee, tea, and small plates, and offer a wide variety of vegan options. I highly recommend the iced London Fog.
This place has a very aesthetically pleasing layout with a relaxing vibe. The iced London Fog that my girlfriend got was the best one she has ever had! Customer service was great! Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a cup of Joe and a chill vibe!
Every time Iβve been in the coffeeβs been phenomenal! Today I got the Dutch mocha and itβs delicious and I definitely recommend it! The staff members are always very friendly and knowledgeable! Super cozy atmosphere in a convenient location!
Best coffee in town. Lattes are smooth and my regular drip coffee is always strong. Their roasted veggie breakfast bagel is to die for.
Just left the coffee shop and it was perfect. Everyone working there was super nice and very down to earth. It was so pleasant to speak with them. I had the matcha latte and the cinnamon raisins coffee cake and wow, Iβm still savoring that cake. Super delicious. We are from northern Virginia and we need more of these up there with the same people. You guys are amazing. Canβt wait to visit again.
Definitely some of the highest quality coffee in Roanoke. Doesnt have a ton of inside space but the atmosphere is very relaxing.
DELICIOUS bagels, interesting specialty cream cheese flavors, and a plethora of in-house syrups to flavor your coffees. Love the vibe here!
The latte with orange vanilla was amazing, but i ordered the vegetable breakfast sandwich, and it was the saltiest thing iβve ever tasted. Like biting into a saltmine. I found massive chunks of salt in my sandwich that crunched when i bit into it. Iβm just so confused how it could be that salty, i actually gagged and had to throw half away.
This is such a cute place. It definitely has a lounge feel. Even though it is a small space they utilize it well. There is plenty of seating options to choose from. The prices are great too. The coffee has a good flavor and everyone there was really friendly.
Excellent coffee and milk drinks. Really well done espresso and solid milk foam. The cortado was excellent will be returning soon.
Order: Smoked Apple Cinnamon Latte, Pour Over, Coffee JellyPrice: $23Positives: The flavors were incredible and they offer truly unique coffee βdrinksβ,Negatives: Seating wasnβt super comfortable.tldr: RND is one of the most creative coffee shops Iβve ever been to, and on top of that they are on point this with their basics. This is a must visit coffee shop no mater what youβre looking to get from your cafe.Thoughts: My wife had said this place was fantastic because the owner does some insanely creative coffee stuff. She wasnβt joking. When we walked in one of the first things I noticed was the smoking device on the counter.Given my insatiable curiosity one of the first questions I asked the barista, who also happened to be the owner, what he does with that smoking machine. When he told me he makes a smoked cinnamon apple latte I just threw money at him. Then my wife told me I also needed to try the coffee jelly. Wait, I thought, coffee jelly? Like what is going on in this shop shop? Coffey jelly and smoked lattes? This was either going to spectacular, or a disaster. But I trust my wife so we also ordered coffee jelly and then we got a pour over. The pour over was mostly just because I have been missing out on pour overs for days. To be fair it had only been one full day since I had a pour over but addiction am I right? The pour over was very basic, simple, but really good. You could taste the depth and complexity of coffee. The coffee jelly was unlike anything else Iβve ever eaten. He explained it was coffee with a little bit of gelatin, just to make it solidified, and then served in a cup with condensed milk over it. My worry was that it would taste like bland Jell-O, flavored with coffee and that wasnβt even close to the case. The stuff was fantastic. It was like drinking coffee that you could also chew that had this wild texture in your mouth. It was so good that I ordered it without question the next time we walked in the door a few days later. It definitely wouldnβt be something that became my standard fare if I lived in the city but it is phenomenal and you definitely have to try it if you havenβt!The smoked apple cinnamon latte was another mind blower. So he makes this apple cinnamon latte, which to be honest would probably be good all on its own because heβs hand making the syrup plus, as I found out later apparently the owner was a chef before becoming a coffee master and you can kind of tell the way he works on his drinks that thereβs more going on in his head than just coffee. Anyway, so he makes this latte and then he smokes it and lets it sit inside the smoking glass for a good five minutes. When I tell you that this thing showed up at our table smelling like warm apple pie being eaten around the campfire Iβm not even sort of exaggerating! Just smelling this thing made me happy and tasting it was unreal! You tasted the wood, the apple, the cinnamon, and the coffee all in this glorious amalgamation of a drink. It did come off as a little bit sweet though I wasnβt exactly surprised because after all itβs a smoked apple cinnamon latte. If it wasnβt sweet it might be weird. I wish there was more espresso in it and if I ordered it again I would do it as a cappuccino not as a latte just to make that espresso pop a little bit more in the drink. If you canβt tell by my absurdly long review of two coffee concoctions, I loved this place. We went back again as we were passing through the city to leave our vacation and I would 100% come here all the time if I lived nearby. Apparently he changes the espressos and the different drinks and I would love to just work my way through whatever this man came up with for years. If you live anywhere nearby (Iβm literally clapping my hands while I say this thatβs how serious I am) you owe it to yourself to get to RND Coffee. Not only will you get amazing coffee you will get coffee presented to you in a unique way that you will almost certainly have never encountered before. I just hope that we get to go back sometime soon.
One of my favorite coffee places in Roanoke! Such an amazing lavender latte! This place never disappoints!
They have the best lattes in the Roanoke area by far. I donβt venture out to get coffee apart from the places that I normally go very often but I ended up going to this little gem and will forever be going back!
Roanoke has several great coffee shops and I think RND is the most underrated! Iβve always had great, fast service
My favourite coffee shop in Roanoke since the day theyve opened! The brothers who run it are incredible, as are the various wonderful and kind staff theyve been hiring as theyve expanded!Try one of their interesting lattes (lavender+thyme mocha is my fav though my family loves the cardamom) or a decadent and fresh nitro float, have a tasty bite to eat (coffee cake and toasts are to die for), or a bagel (now made in-house)!For non-coffee drinkers, they have the best chais, loose leaf teas, etc. in Roanoke at prices no worse than a bland Starbucks drink. :)Whenever Im in Roanoke, I make sure to visit RND above any other place, and its never lead me astray!
Great neighborhood shop with good drinks, friendly staff, and quiet enough music for you to get work done. One of my favorite haunts when Im open during the week.
Lavender and thyme latte was awesome. I also got the mushroom melt and loved it. Limited indoor seating but wasnβt too busy inside. Iβll be back soon!
Awesome place! Great vibes and the coffee was great! Good prices too! Excellent costumer service!
Cozy coffee shop and warm atmosphere. There is limited indoor seating, but right across the street there is a walking/biking path thatβs perfect for a stroll.I ordered the London Fog - highly recommend it!
RND is a fantastic coffee lounge. Its on the small side, but its a beautiful space with great local artwork. Theyve made the most out of the room they have. They also helped open a communal area a couple blocks over, which will provide some additional space in Spring and Fall.(The owner - ) Quincys culinary training shows through with the variety and quality of his cuisine. RND syrups are handmade, lattes have ingredients like gochujang or seaweed, sandwiches have truffle-cheese and sriracha sour cream sauce. The menu changes seasonally, with new flavors and old favorites. The service is excellent. There can occasionally be a wait due to the small size and growing popularity, but the baristas are trained well and move efficiently.RND is a must-visit for anyone in the 3rd wave coffee scene who travels near Roanoke.
High quality coffee, good service and atmosphere. Highly recommend.
When I travel I always look for a good coffee shop. RND has everything I look for in a shop and more. Cute shop, super kind staff, gorgeous ceramic cups, easy parking, and amazing coffee! I have enjoyed ordering their beans online during the pandemic.
My wife and I love this place. High quality brewed coffee And inventive, delicious lattes. Try the peanut ginger! Customer service is excellent as well. Thank you Quincy and Co!
I would 100% recommend: great menu with unique options; friendly staff; and new and exciting Banana breads. Fantastic.
Alright alright alright. Hear me out. So the coffee and atmosphere is *chefs kiss* amazing. Every time I visit Roanoke I HAVE to grab an oatmilk mocha. But if I may... whoever decided to put Italian seasoning inside of the vegan chocolate muffin AND the icing that comes with it needs to take a moment and think over this decision. I mean I sat down with my warm chocolatey muffin today, very excited to enjoy a vegan treat (which is oftentimes hard to come by at coffee shops) and then BOOM... is that oregano? no... I try it again... thyme? rosemary? What is happening?! Are my tastebuds messed up? Either they are or someone made a bold decision to put some kind of strong herb/spice in this muffin and icing. Needless to say... I will be back because I still love RND with all my heart, but I think I will go for a bagel next time or perhaps just stick with the oat milk mocha.Keep up the good work, everyone!... except for the person who made these muffins. Youβre on thin ice. π
The coffee beverages are unique and expertly crafted (absolutely delicious!) and the RND team is very kind and helpful. I messed up my own order and they were beyond gracious and accommodating.
Happened upon this place before going kayaking through Roanoke Mountain Adventures. They are on their game! Excellent medium roast sweetened with their house made Dutch Mocha syrup made for a near-dessert.The bagel with the egg souffle and salami was out of this world!Felt very fortunate to have found you RND. I will return one day!
Of this areas roasters, nobody really comes close- RND is right up there with the best coffee Ive had anywhere in the world. Even if you cant get by the shop, treat yourself to some of their beans!
Love this place. Baristas are friendly, coffee is SO good. They have Oatmilk as a non dairy option (my favorite). Their Chai latte is the best in Roanoke. Love the atmosphere, a great space for meeting a friend or reading/studying. Highly recommend!
In addition to being an expertly in-house roaster, the cafe cuisine is troublingly good. As in I miss it and I now resent not living closer. This place is worth the extra couple miles if youβre anywhere in the great state of Virginia.
Great atmosphere and one of the best mochas I have ever had, the dutch mocha may be my new treat. Park on the street nearby or walk up from the greenway and try it!
Some of the best coffee and tea beverages around, served by some of the nicest and most informed people. A place where every feels welcome.
It was my first time there today. I believe the young man that explained everything to me was the owner (hes also a chef). He clearly knows his coffee & was very friendly. He said they had just opened recently - its very nice inside. I didnt realize they had already been operating nextdoor before opening this new space until I read the other reviews here. I got a small cup of the lighter blend of coffee to-go - I cant remember the name (sorry, too complicated for my wee uncaffinated morning brain to absorb). Well, I got in my car, drove off and took a sip. I was really taken back by the complexity of the flavors - rich, fruity, ..caramel? No wonder he was describing this stuff to me like someone might describe a fine wine. Im so glad I happened by this shop today. Ill definitely be back sometime. Im looking forward to trying some of the more exotic items too.
Great Cortado and banana bread!
I saw this place on the news and decided to give it a try. I understand and comply with all the rules of the changing times but this place is not efficiently run for a coffee joint. Prepare to wait 15 mins or more to order and receive your order. If youre not a morning person, this place certainly wont help. But the bagel breakfast sandwich with salami i had was on point!
Nice little place for coffee. Their coffee is very good and is inexpensive by Coffee house standards. Very much enjoyed it!
The best coffee in Roanoke and their food is really good, too.
Great small business. Friendly people and great coffee!
My favorite place by far to get a bagel and I am always trying something new and creative. This is also a Black Owned Business and I love seeing its success.
Best coffee in the town for sure and people are great!
Really like having a coffee shop so close. Very friendly staff, excellent coffee. Support your local businesses!!
RND Roasters Next Door is a cute pop-up coffee shop inside The Hive in Wasena. They have cold brew on tap and hot coffee featuring Floyds Red Rooster and Richmonds Ironclad roasters. I opted for a Red Rooster pourover. The space is colorful and the coffee was excellent. Steffon is very friendly. They are open seven days a week.
Cool store run and owned by cool people, After a morning bicycle ride along the Roanoke river path, I wanted a good coffee before hitting the road, and found RND, I ordered a Americano with a double shot which ticked all my boxes for freshness, flavor and correct water to coffee ration, I like the bean flavors as well so much so that I bought a bag to take home.
Blessed to have these guys in Roanoke. We absoLUTELY needed an amazing, community-centered coffee lounge in this city and RND has gone above and beyond taking on that role. They always seem to be trying new things and every single product Ive had from them, from their freshly roasted beans to their in-house craft beverages have been phenomenal. Thanks for being here!
Love this place! Excellent coffee and food. The bagels are my personal favorite.
Super delicious. Looking forward to returning with my friends. The bill was decent for the quality.
Great coffee, great snacks, great staff. Always a pleasure!
Finally! Great coffee in Roanoke.
Best coffee in Roanoke??? Probably. Best house made flavors in Roanoke??? 100%RND has stolen my coffee heart
Always wonderful drinks and service. Very nice local coffee shop vibe. Try their in house specials, they may sound strange but you wont be disappointed.
Feels like one of the small shops in Seattle. Genuinely good coffee.
Highly recommended! I love the atmosphere of the place. Friendly staff and great coffee.
Awesome local place, great coffee and people!
I love trying new places and this coffee place was new to me and my family and we enjoyed every bit of it will be going back.
Sincerely, RND might be one of the only legitimately good coffee shops in Southwest Virginia. Theyre super friendly and excited to serve their customers. The atmosphere is wonderful. The coffee is very good and, as they grow in their recently launched roasting program, shows every sign of becoming amazing.
The best coffee and creative drinks with the best owners and the best breakfast sandwich everrr. So seriously good. Cant wait to see what they come up with next!
Loved my first visit here! Will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend.
Great place! Love that they offer pour overs as part of their standard menu. So far this is the only place in Roanoke that I have found that will do this or even knows what it is. You can tell that they really take pride in their work and love what they do!
This show is such an amazing addition to Roanoke! The owner was incredibly friendly and fun to talk to. He seems to take great pride in his craft. It shows because the nitro cold brew was delicious. I will definitely be back!
Best coffee shop in Roanoke. Very good quality coffee beans.
Absolutely fantastic coffee!
Outstanding coffee, delightful setting. The detailed and nuanced descriptions of different blends which Quincy offers are actually realβthe coffee tastes like he says it will down to the last flowery note. :-) Be advisedβcoffee from your regular shop will pale by comparison so you might end up βall inβ at RND.
Great service...really nice area! Lemon drop was really good!!
AMAZING. Service is incredible; staff are genuine, equally invested in their craft & the guest experience. Creative, cozy, compelling. Unmissable.
The food and coffee are both delicious.
Great Capp!
Knowledgeable staff. Hip interior. Seems like they really pride themselves in quality coffee and excellent customer service. Im pumped that theyre around and excited to see them grow!
RND ! Great service !Try the βElectric EyeβOat milk, honey & shot of espresso, iced or hot
Loved this shop. The staff was knew their stuff and served up a great pour over. Highly recommend this shop!
Easily the best coffee Ive ever had, easily the best pastries/bagels Ive ever had. Easily the friendliest baristas Ive ever met, and easily the best work and relaxation environment Ive ever been in. Only drawback is somewhat small size for how popular it is.
