Great drinks and cool atmosphere. Very COVID precautions compliant. A bit small. Limited menu and unwilling to take reservations. Solid 4 star experience.
Great drinks. When compared with a similar priced cocktail from other franchise stores these are much more creative and much better cocktails overall at clemintine. Also, when its dark you can barely notice this cocktail bar, so look closely.
The food is so great!! I cant stress enough! The oysters are my favorite in edmonton. The pan con tomato is great and dont miss the chicken liver. I think of it all the time! The cocktails are amazing. Staff is really lovely. Great atmosphere
Nice place. Fantastic drinks. Surprisingly good popcorn. Will definitely be back when I have more time to enjoy it.
Excellent and knowledgable bartenders. Food expertly and elegantly prepared. Oysters with scotch, industry sours, and more delights. Move over, Woodwork- Theres a new cocktail king in town.
Amazing place. Great atmosphere, the server and bartender were very friendly, and the drinks were freaking amazing! I was very impressed, and Ill definitely make another trip here.
Whenever Im in Edmonton for work–which is fairly often–I always make a point of popping by this excellent cocktail bar for a drink and a bite. The space has an elegant design to it, but its also very cozy and welcoming. The bartenders here can mix up virtually any cocktail under the sun and are adept at making zero-proof drinks as well if youre not a boozehound. The food here is also top notch. Menu changes frequently, but its always worth trying a dish or two.
Can’t rave enough about Clementine. Their smoked olives are amazing and loved their tartare. Happy hour all day Sunday may be my new ritual 😅 I would also love too see more items added to their food menu in the future!
I really enjoyed their cocktail menu and charcuterie board. The staff are super friendly and attentive, especially with the amount of customers. Loved the look of the bar!
VERY cool atmosphere and the bartenders are so knowledgeable its almost to a point you think theyre just making stuff up to sound smart haha. Try the Tataki and the Absinth!
Clementine is the best bar in Edmonton. It rightly deserves to be in Avenue Magazine and Top 100 Restaurants in Edmonton (small bar booklet). This is a good place to take your date here or to hang out with friends and enjoy your drinks. Our bartender, Leland, made really tasty drinks. I recommend the Wanderer as the bartender makes the drink based on your style. An example is refreshing drink and he delivered it. My friends drink was really tasty and his second drink beats his and my first drink. Who would have thought that peppercorns would work in a drink? Best service we had.We will come back again! I highly recommend this place.
First time experiencing the highly rated and number 9th best bar in Canada. In my personal opinion it really didn’t live up to my expectations going into it. Nothing was that over the top and extravagant in terms of what I was anticipating it to be for being deemed top ten bars in the whole or Canada, the customer service was excellent from Mark who seems to be a gentlemen and a scholar at his job! But nothing stood out to me except his great service to my table, honestly the whole Clementine experience was decent at best.Only reason I am giving three stars and not five is because for what it’s worth it was a fun and entertaining time for my group who came in to celebrate my business partners birthday, but none of us was that impressed overall.
Perfect night cap ❤️❤️
Their mojito is soooooo good!!! Also their charcuterie plate was delicious too! Very nice ambience too.But their Pisco sour was a big disappointment..the egg white gave very strong eggy smell unfortunately and couldnt drink it at all.
We got to enjoy some pre-mixed drinks from Clementine during lockdown. I would highly recommend they maintain this take-out service. All we had to do was pour pre-mixed drinks over ice and they tasted amazing!
Bartenders are great. They put huge amounts of time into what they do, and have incredible recollection of cocktails.
Hands down the best cocktails in Edmonton. This quaint little spot is reminiscent of Boston. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable about the wide-array of drinks they serve, and their attention to detail is impeccable.Did I mention the drinks are good too? :)Great for:-dates-casual drinksRecommendation: Meat Hook, Rye MojitoI have yet to try the food, but it looks and smells delish.
My new favorite bar in Edmonton. Since Woodwork has become an awful one I will never go to again, Clementine is my new go to. The staff are super friendly. The ambiance is closest it gets to a Manhattan bar and the crowd are diverse and urban! Go for absinthe in this bar, its a feast, a festival of its own right! Dont forget to order crispy potatoes and be sure to have the crispy ones with prickles ones and the sauce! Its DELICIOUS!Cheers!
A friend and I went to Clementine for the first time this past week, in the evening. We were seated between two tables that were rather close together. It was quite hard to hear in there with the din of the restaurant and our noisy table neighbours. The server was kind enough to move us to a table near the window when opportunity arose. When our server first came around to ask for our drink order we had barely just gotten the menus. It took another 10 minutes for him to come back and get our order after that. The drinks took a while to arrive after we ordered them, but that was to be expected, due to their complexity. Mine, Caballa, was elegantly served in a whisky glass with a blackened orange. It was delightfully smoky. My friends drink which was more tropical in nature was served in an amusing parrot mug.Our beef shin came out first. It was served with the freshest peas, pickled carrots and buttery mushrooms - a delightful flavor combination. The sourdough rye pancake with ham was sinfully saucy with its clover honey and swiss chard. I can see why this is a staple on their menu. It was comfort food classed up.I would go back - I would love to try the rye sourdough tartine - a dish that has been on the menu since opening, and the pork rillons dish. Yum!
Service was excellent. Drinks were great. Highly recommend the steak tartare to snack on. Lovely start to the evening.
The PEI oysters were incredible, and the sidewalk patio meant we were visited by a butterfly. Bike parking is non-existent, sadly. Cocktails were delish. This place is always jammed in the winter, so summer is the best time to drop in. You get the same creative menu, exacting kitchen and excellent service, with less wait.
Fun and cozy drink spot with delicious drinks. Amazing for small groups and couples
The cocktails are always great. The Amazon is my favourite and I find myself craving it on the regular it’s so tasty! I love the try before you die promo and think it’s such a fun way to explore the world of cocktails. I always bring people here when I want to treat them to a great drink. It’s a bit pricey for me come in on a regular basis but for a treat or special occasion I’m happy to spend my dollars here.
Great service and the food is top notch.
Some of the best drinks and food I have ever had in the city would highly recommend this place
Best cocktail Ive ever had. I had the Dark and stormy, I tried my friends penicillin, and cosmopolitan.
Super cute little bar. I love the theme and the decor.Better place to get cocktails than real food. The cocktail list was super long and complex, so I just asked the bar tender to get me the sweetest cocktail on the menu. He did. He was polite, and knowledgeable, and didnt make fun of my drink choices (like some bartenders do). Me and my boyfriend shared some plates, and some dessert. Everything tasted really good. But the cocktails were star of the show. In the future I will arrange another ride so I can try more of the drinks.
The atmosphere is very nice and the drinks are well made. There is very limited seating so reservations are recommend... That being said, We had a reservation for 9pm and we didnt get seated until about 9:20. Honestly it wasnt a huge deal and they were very apologetic, gave us some stools to sit in the front door area... But worth mentioning as if we were a larger party it wouldnt have been very comfortable waiting.
Great place for a cocktail. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Had a lot of fun.
Great ambience. It was a slower night due to weather but our server was knowledgable had great recommendations and brought me samples of liquors when asked. Would recommend and would go back again.
Decent drinks and menu
Cocktails like no where else in Edmonton, knowledgeable staff and great ambiance!
I sat at the bar directly in front of the bartenders well and still had to wait something like 7 minutes to be greeted. A hey, Ill be right with you would have been fine. The drinks were ok but as far as artisan cocktails are concerned (and without naming names), their competition on the opposite end of Jasper Ave has a more appealing menu and way better service.
My partner and I came in for our anniversary this evening and it was so lovely. Lindsay was an amazing server and the food was sooo yummy. Had some delicious cocktails, flatbread, apple pie, but the best part by far was the mushroom dish. Was literally the best thing was ever. Going to be thinking about it for the rest of my life. Thank you for a great evening !
We love this little place. Everything is impeccable, from the exceptional decor to the small but delicious menu, and of course, the excellent bartenders and delicious cocktails. We worked our way through the cocktail menu over a few visits and enjoyed the flatbread as a snack. Delicious! While it was always busy, we were able to get a seat each time we went.
Cocktails and service were great, but the food we ordered left much to be desired. Not only were the portions relatively small, the flavours were unremarkable. I might go again, but only for a drink.
Id gone to Clementine some time ago but Im in the reviewing mood so I must leave my two cents.A gun with a friend to go for some cocktails as we needed a night out. The Ambiance was very cute, small, and quaint. It almost felt like I was walking into a different time era. Everything was closed and you can see the bartenders and the kitchen staff all working diligently to accommodate the patrons.the cocktails were outstanding. We were sat at the bar so we were able to see the bartenders diligently working away and making our drinks. We had no intentions of staying for food but we had seen some of the food come out to other people in the restaurant so we decided to have a nibble on a few things. Albeit the portions were a little small but the quality of the food was top-notch. Honestly, people need to stop being such pigs anyways and enjoy smaller portions of food (to the other people in the reviews-honestly).Looking forward to my return!
My boyfriend and I shared our first anniversary at Clementine last night. From start to finish, we were accommodated with wine pairings and great knowledge of the dishes being served to us. Our server, Mark, was phenomenal. He was extremely polite, and made some fantastic recommendations. Clementine has a beautiful ambience, with low lighting and great music. It is a small space, so make a reservation to ensure that you will be able to dine at a table. Thank you, Clementine, for such an incredible first experience. We will be back!
Very tasty drinks. Great place to bring a date
Great cocktails. Bartender made us a couple of fantastic custom drinks when we went with the Wander option. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Great food for sharing, cozy atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
Asked bartender to make whatever and he didnt disappoint!
One of my favorite spots in Edmonton for cocktails. Ideal for drinks and snacks, especially for date nights. However not much for dinner. The Cavendish cocktail and the crispy potato appetizer were a couple my favorites.
Cozy little place for cocktails. Ask the bartender to surprise you with a custom drink, you will not be disappointed. O and the radishes are delicious!
Wouldnt even come here if this was the last bar in Edmonton 10/10 worst place 👍
Ive been here a couple of times now. Every time I go the customer service blows me away.
Clementine is like an Woody Allen movie -everyone is white, rich and with issues. The place is tiny, overcrowded and noisy. The food choice is very limited and extremely overpriced. The fact that I speak French and love cooking didnt really help me understand what exactly they serve. However one should always think tiny! We had some sort of corn chips served with salsa and fish. Think 1 1/2 tablespoons of each and 4 or 5 extremely over dried pieces of stale corn crêpe, no bigger than regular corn chips . No taste at all. I mean thats how i imagine hospital food tastes like. Dont go on a date there unless you have magician like skills of putting together tiny pieces of food that just dont stick together. Gravity will fight you for it. Service was good, but couldnt make up for the horrible food. I had a spritzer, which was consisted of 2/3 ice. On the kinky side: the wash room doors are glass and you can easily see someone is in and what they are doing. :) Never again.
What a quaint little hidden gem! Its super classy + the staff + food are great! Make sure to reserve ahead of time, even if it is a few hours ahead, coz everyone loves the cocktails so much that it takes a while to get a free spot! My boyfriend made a reservation and it was our first time there! Its so modern, welcoming and has an Italian vibe in there. Well - and my boyfriend got down on one knee and proposed to me that night too! The Champagne is EXCELLENT! I wasnt a fan of the cocktails as they were too sweet for my taste - i am a gin person. They didnt have the gin I like, but was good enough on the rocks. They were so accommodating when we had a little too much to drink (oops). Super expensive, so its a once in a year kind of visit for us. The only con I had was that they didnt have a soap dispenser in the restroom. They have a bar of soap hanging on a metal bar of some sort, which was gross to me to touch.Overall great night! Thank you for accommodating us and going along with the proposal! I am now engaged!
In love with this place! Atmosphere is great for a date or girls night! Drinks are awesome!!
A small little gem of a cocktail & tapas bar. Great music, staff, food & drink.
One of my favourite places in Edmonton! Amazing cocktails, love the atmosphere (sort of prohibition style, hole in the wall), fantastic service. Would recommend making a reservation but not always necessary, especially if you’re ok with bar seating.
Holy moly blow me away. Never mind, just go try it.I particularly loved the cheese with honey comb and stuff. Perfect flavour mix, fantastic cocktails.
Hipster joint with tasteful French decor. Excellent selection of spirits including various Absinthe choices. The wine menu was respectable including allusive orange wines. Food is delightful and carefully prepared, but portioned as snacks and accompaniments to the amazing cocktails. Will be back.
Great little spot for a small group. Wouldnt go with a big group as the size of the venue is small, but the food and drinks are good. Keep in mind this place is a little pricey. If you are OK with that it is a great spot.
Lovely experience. Flavors fantastic (esp. The rabbit and the duck) and overall experience great. Only shortfall a personal one, I feel the texture elements a bit aggressive but their flavor was good.
This place is a true gem, offering an authentic prohibition speak easy experience with unique dishes prepared to absolute perfection. The mixology is unequalled in Edmonton, and you must try the absinthe. Book in advance using their website, seating is limited and this place is very popular. Don’t be afraid to take seating at the bar, their bartenders and masterful and fun to watch.
The food and service is amazing. The mushroom toast was exceptional and they have a great list of cocktails and knowledgeable staff who will help you. They recommended shots and drinks to our group based on what we had already ordered and liked.Staff are knowledgeable about wine as well. Everyone is friendly yet professional.I recommend going early because they often sell out of food items as the night goes on.Love it here.
Amazing cocktails, and a really great selection of absinthe from around the world. Havent been to a place with such a diverse drink menu. Food is pretty good too, food menu is quite short but still great.
The food is always delicious and they occasionally close the restaurant to the public for private pop-up dinners (which have all been fantastic). The food portions are small, so if you`re hungry I recommend another location. That said, you will not leave disappointed with any of your choices. The cocktail menu is a unique collection with something for everyone. Ive had the top half of the menu and while I have a limited pallet for what I enjoy: I would order everything again. The bar is rustic and warm wooden setup; gave a real classic feeling (that`s what comes to mind, cannot describe it any other way).
Delicious cocktails and food.Limited food menus means limited vegetarian options, but what they make is excellent.
Always such great servers/bartenders and the drinks are incredible! The atmosphere is perfect!
First time I came here it was an amazing experience. Upon the on second time, it was terrible. They changed their menu. It’s more “seafood” focused. The pork dish that they had before is gone (although it’s listed on their online menu). Don’t be fool by the pork dish on the menu now. Its somewhat raw and not tasty. Their beef and broth was dry and over cooked. The service was terrible (we were 1/3 tables on a Saturday night) and the waiter was unfriendly and never paid any attention to us.I would not recommend this restaurant for food and the new changes to the menu is terrible. Come here only for cocktails (the sprout is delish).I will not be returning here. Disappointing for a birthday dinner and this meal ruined my birthday celebrations.
Amazing cocktails & great service! We were here on Friday and the hostess was awesome! We didnt have a reservation but they let us sit for an hour until the other came for the table! We had time for a cocktail and the sourdough pancakes! If you come here! Youve got to get the pancakes! To die for! Defiantly coming back and bringing my friends!!
Perfect spot for a artisanal drink. Enjoyed a wonderful evening with my wife talking over great drinks and spectacular side plates.
What an unbelievable experience I had at this bar. Specifically, I thought the bartender Leland was exceptional and really added to the experience. Each Wanderer drink he made was exceptional.Found the server to be stressed and a little passive aggressive. However, it did not deter from my experience.Highly recommend!
I used to love Clementine, I have had some of the best, most memorable tapas / food there — however the last time we went our experience was more than disappointing. The bar staff are always excited and keen to make an creative beverage and this was true this time as well, but the food we ordered fell, completely, and utterly, flat. One menu item we ordered was not available, we then ordered the charcuterie board (contents pretty much non existent) the olives (the only thing worth mentioning, is that tarragon you use on those? Delicious!) and some form of flat bread. Other than the olives, Our food selection was blah, the taste was unremarkable, but the prices were out of the world! I mean, I’m from Vancouver and don’t mind paying a premium for quality, but our bill was $215 before we decided to leave and find another place to “actually” eat. I’m hoping things turn around for this little gem of a spot because it had / had so much potential.
One of the best places to get a cocktail in Edmonton. Really interesting drinks that are different but still accessible. Definitely my new favorite place. The interior environment is stunning!
I kept checking to see if Ryan Gosling was about to walk in this place the whole time we were there. It is that cool. Nice, light menu options and an extensive and informed bar staff to create or mix what I can only assume is any beverage on the planet.
I havent tried the food yet, but based on the decor (30s art deco), the cocktails (Conifer is my favourite) and the service this place is worth while coming back to and try the food. Reservations recommended.
Had high hopes for this restaurant and over all wasnt impressed. The decor is amazing loved the style. The cocktails were great, the meal was decent, but our service was terrible. When cocktails are $14 and you want another one, you shouldnt have to ask.. twice...
Good. Still some growing pains to go through. We were the only ones there and it seemed like they were like: Who is serving them? Are you? Am I? So it switched once or twice with who was serving us. No big deal. Just took awhile longer to get our drinks and orders in while they figured it out. The food was excellent. The cocktails were elaborate and tasty. A great place for something new with friends.
I have been here 3 times. By far and away the best and most interesting drinks I have ever had. If you are tired of the same corporate driven drink and food menu at all the big restaurant chains out there, do yourself a favour and go to clementine’s. The plates are smaller so you can share several and try more. Last time I asked the bartender to surprise me and make something new. A few minutes later I had a totally unique drink that was one of the best I have ever had. Just a great little place.
Great cocktails, two thumbs up, will come back. Small food menu, but what we tried was very good quality
Easily wins my favourite room award. I absolutely love the interior design. The craft cocktails are exceptional and the food menu (while not particularly expansive) is creative, high calibre, and great for sharing.
Very tasty cocktails. Wish there were more veg/vegan snacks but a beautiful room and experience!
Pricey, but fun for a splurge. We didnt have food so I cant speak to that but Id highly recommend having the bartender make you something unique. Price is the same and they make it based on your preferences.
Great atmosphere, knowledgeable and approachable staff. Food was great, the cocktails exceptional. It is clear great detail went into everything at Bar Clementine (shoutout to the charming, vintage radio advertisements in the restrooms)
Theres a new bar in town, and its name is Clementine. Its not overly cheap, but the value is definitely there. Beautiful, well appointed, knowledgeable staff. Top notch. Youre a fool of you dont at least pop in for a delicious cocktail.
Amazing cocktails. The mixologists are incredibly talented. Sit by the bar if you can so you can see them in action. The bar itself is absolutely gorgeous. Love this place and will defiantly be back!
Love the food menu and drink selection here
Amazing place with amazing food and drinks. The new sashimi dish is to die for! Highly recommend!
