Super helpful staff. Ive bought so much stuff from here because of that. Yes its cheaper online but you cant beat the knowledge they have. Well worth the small difference compared to online pricing.
I really appreciate the attention and friendliness in solving my camera needs. They were great at returning my call and having my item ready for me when I walked in. The sales ppl were very nice and took time to listen and to help me. The Carytown store is sleak looking and fully equipped w everything camera related.

Wanted to buy some equipment from here instead of a big retailer because it is important to buy from small and local businesses *especially* during times like this. I overheard someone super friendly helping other guest and when they approached me, I was met with the best customer service ever. Vickie was fantastic and such a true gem. Every time Ive entered this store I have felt comfortable, cared for, and welcome. The staff are incredibly friendly and patient, which was a huge help as Im a novice. They took time to explain things and never made me feel rushed. Speaking with one of the staffers (Nicholas I think?) helped me feel more at ease in using my camera, in choosing the right film, and in spotting quality when purchasing used devices. The level of expertise makes this a great go-to for professionals, and their helpfulness and patience makes it also a great place for beginners.
I had to get my dads photo restored .. it was really beat up. They did great! Nick and the young lady that works there seems genuinely nice .they even remember my name as I walked in (which is nice ) The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars it cost close to 200 (I didn’t expect)to get one pic done and it took close to a month. Other than that they did do their job ! Thanks again

Enjoyed the employees were nice and warm and helpful please dont close. Online shop is nice for the busy people who dont have time or transportation to get there or parking once we are there. And maybe the downtown location can open once a month or every third month of every third Saturday

I was having MAJOR problems on my end submitting orders to Richmond through ROES & Jason was able to help me out and get my products submitted in time so that my clients can have them by Christmas!-Im ALWAYS so excited when UPS delivers me a package because I know my BEAUTIFUL products have come in from Richmond!
Dropped off 4 carousels of 140 slides each on 2/28/2020 to have slides converted to digital. Paid extra to have them converted in order. They said they were running behind so it might take a while.I called on 4/15/2020 to check status and was told they had not gotten started on them and they would call when they were ready.On 4/20/2020 I received a call they were ready. (They processed 560 slides in 5 days, 2 of which they were closed?)I picked up on 4/22/2020.Going through the slides on the first carousel, they are not in order, some not focused, some darker than the originals.Interesting how they had the slides for almost 2 months (52 days) and suddenly they are ready in 5 days!$165 wasted and I get to go thru and re-order the slides that I originally paid to have converted in order. Plus I will need to find someone to re-process slides that are unacceptable.Very unprofessional of Richmond Camera. I will never use them again and they USED TO BE my go to camera shop.I recommend you avoid them.
This location for years has helped me with my photography needs and accessories. Today is another day they came in clutch and finally help me locate a battery for a last minute shoot! Awesome local business in RVA and would reccomended to photographers!
More than pleased with Richmond Camera on Broad Street. They have taken some very old family pictures and refinished them beautifully! Service and staff have been great!

I popped in for some background paper which they didnt have it this location but they looked up for me and send me to the Broad Street location. I needed a specific type of modeling lamp light and they attempted to order it for me even though it had been discontinued, I really appreciated the attempt. The sales and service is what makes going to this place worth it. Everyone who works there is a knowledgeable camera professional who can really give you some good advice on what you need and even if it isnt in the store that day they will do whatever it takes to get it for you and make sure that it works.
I won a photo contest, the prize for which was $100 to Richmond Camera. The business indicated to the contest, who passed the message along to me, that the $100 was set up to be used on merchandise, but that if the winner of the contest (in this case, me) wanted to use the $100 on photo finishing services, they could help set that up. This fact is documented in multiple emails, both from the business to the contest, and from the contest to me.Upon attempting to redeem the gift credit for photo prints, Nick informed me that they dont apply to photo finishing services. I reminded him of his promise to the contest and to me, which he denied, even in the face of the documented evidence. We went back and forth over numerous phone calls, as he told me he would work on setting it up but that it might be a few weeks. Finally, I guess he got tired of dealing with me, so he told me just to purchase the prints outright and that he would then refund my card for $100. He indicated I should just reply to the order confirmation requesting $100 back - but the order confirmation comes from a third party that is NOT Richmond Camera, making me think Nick was intentionally duplicitous. I did find the Richmond Camera email, to which I forwarded the confirmation and my request, but, again, havent heard back. Unfortunately, my trust in Nick honoring both his written and spoken word was misplaced, because now he hasnt returned my calls or emails, nor have I received any credit to my card.Edit: To be clear, I was not a paying customer (or, the value I needed to pay in addition to the gift credit was minimal). When he first told me hed help set me up to use the credit, Nick told me hed call me back in a few days. After two weeks passed without hearing from him, I called back. Nick indicated that he was too busy to make my order a priority. I told him that made complete sense, but that I would appreciate an estimate on when he could work with me, at which point he scoffed. Our interactions were mostly confrontational: he was frustrated at being asked to honor his commitment. I dont expect to be prioritized over other customers, but if the only thing keeping you treating people decently is the fact that theyre paying, then I find that pretty low. I only wanted honest communication and the honoring of an already-made commitment, which, apparently, Nick thought was an unreasonable request. His rude and abrasive attitude towards me will certainly deter me from using his services again. If you value customer service and follow-through on a commitment, I suggest you do the same.Regarding the actual quality of the prints, I dont feel they were the same quality I would expect from a professional print lab. Ive sent the same digital image files to numerous printers: certainly, Richmond Camera exceeds CVS, Walmart, CostCo, etc., but it falters compared to the online labs such as MPix, Shutterfly, or BayPhoto.

Richmond Professional Lab is the only lab that I will use for my photography processing. They absolutely have the best customer service and amazing quality products. They go above and beyond for their customers and their standard quality products exceed most peoples high quality products. Theyre the only products that I have hanging in my home and in my office. Theyre the only products Ill offer to my clients. I guarantee my work and I stand behind theirs.
Extremely solid lab. I little pricey, but great customer service, communication, & dependability. I love the predictability of their turnaround time & tracking, it gives everyone in the deal confidence. Also, their condensed daily email receipts are awesome for record keeping.

I cannot say enough good things about Richmond Camera at Carytown. They give some of the best customer service i have seen in any business, not just photography. They are very knowledgeable, personable, and want everything to be right. Everyone that works there is wonderful. I wouldnt go anywhere else for my photography needs.

I visited Richmond Camera today because the film rewind knob on my camera broke. I believe Chuck is the name of the guy who helped me. He was super kind and fixed it in no time, and my film was not ruined! He looked at a couple other parts and was very helpful.
The staff was generous in locating a nice, but inexpensive camera at their other store. The people working at RC Broad St. make the business. Any shop can carry merchandise, but its the person on the phone, in the back or at the counter who delivers.
I went in looking for a battery...was googling the model # on my phone to make sure I asked for the right one...the ones I found were $15, vs the ones in the store that were around $55. When i asked how come these cost so much less, the employee replied Oh, well you can buy one of those. Pressing the question I clearly didnt get an answer to, they told me this is the newer model of battery...ok...maybe could have told me that before the sly response. Then when I asked if they develop film, they told me to go to a different store. Do you want my money or dont you, richmond camera? Its going to look really awkward when an Amazon drone is giving me better customer service than you guys.

Richmond Camera has a fairly limited selection in terms of cameras, and the store is often left under the supervision of workers who admitted to not having much knowledge about camera brands and differences. As much as I hate large corporations, I found that BestBuy had a larger selection of cameras and multiple workers who gave me the professional insight that was lacking at Richmond Camera. I rate Richmond Camer a 3 because I love the vibe of there store and how nice the workers were overall, and also because they didnt fight for the sale or provide me with the support that I needed to make a latge camera purchase.
They are great to work with and have the best print pricing of any pro lab around. They have a short turn around time on all products. ALWAYS friendly on the phone. I have not worked with the camera sales side, but the pro lab is GREAT.

I cant speak about their printing services but DO NOT take your camera there to be sent out for repairs. They dont seem to hire knowledgable front-end staff and based on my experience their system for repairs must be terribly unorganized.Heres my experience:I took my camera there to be sent out to Canon for repairs. They say it will take 3-4 weeks. I call after two weeks to check in and they say it is with Canon but cant tell me anymore. At four weeks, I call in again and now they have a new estimate (double what they told me) and now say it usually takes 4-6 weeks! I called back in the same day to tell them to go ahead with the repair. I believe I spoke with the same person. A week later, they call me and the camera is back in their shop....unfixed. They never got the message through to Canon to fix it. It took 5 weeks to get absolutely nothing done! The only redeeming aspect of their service was that they didnt try to charge me for the shipping.This was at the Richmond Broad St. location.

Ever since I’ve been with Richmond Pro I’ve been looking for better rates elsewhere and no one beats RPL with prices. They’re and all in one Lab for all your Photography Prints and Products for novice or professionals. They support all software from java based ROES, to Photolynx and Timestone Software, I’ve tried them all, and it’s all about matter of preference . Customer Support is excellent.

Ordered a camera from the west coast and had it shipped over here. Unfortunately, the filter broke (thanks, USPS) so in order to be reimbursed from USPS I had to have a statement from a camera shop saying how much it would cost for a filter. Not a big deal, or so I thought...Called here and the manager answered saying that shed have one of her tech guys email me a simple repair (replacement) price for the filter. Didnt get anything for a week and so I called again to explain my story. She put me on the phone with her employee, Nathan. After accusing me of fraud for fabricating a story he told me, I have REAL customers who help my business, I dont have time for people who might be committing fraud--[CLICK].I couldnt believe the nerve of this guy. I highly suggest to those who are interested in purchasing camera equipment or printing off photos to support another camera shop. The rudeness and demeaning manner in how their employees address others is not deserving of any business.
Dear Richmond Camera,I went to your Midlothian store on 2/10/2014 with an old print for enlarging. This was going to be my Valentine Gift for my wife.The sales person told me that I should get a priority service, and I did.The promised date was 2/13/2014 at the Midlothian store.On 2/13/2014 I got a call from your store that the store was closed, but my print will be delivered on 2/14/2014.I went to the Midlothian store on 2/14/2014, the store person could not find my order, she suggested that I might have gone to different location, I pointed out to her that the receipt ticket very specifically mentions the store location.So she called somebody by the name Molly, who said it was in the lab and has not scheduled to go out till later.I requested that they hold it, as I needed it today. I was asked to go to Broad Street (about 20 miles). I went to the Broad street location and Molly serviced me.No apology or anything, I was told the amount to be paid. I suggested that I should be given some discount as they missed the promised date and I had to travel and cost me money, and Time.I expected better service.
