Outstanding service! Very professional and honest. I was stranded 250 miles from home and for the condition I was experiencing, they could have started replacing parts, run the bill into the thousands, and I wouldnt have argued. As it turned out, they found a loose connection, plugged it in, and I was good to go.While they had it in the bay, they gave it the most thorough inspection Ive ever seen a repair shop do in my 54 years.If I didnt live so far away, they would definitely be my go to shop. In fact, I might even travel just to have them work on my car. They are that good.

Jack was great to work with in setting up my appointment. Nick my technician did a great job of inspecting my car and noting any potential issue to include pictures. Shop was clean and they provided me with a loaner which was great. The found an issue, have a quote and let me know when I am ready to get it taken care of they would be ready. The Car did an outstanding identifying all issues associated with my vehicle, giving a detailed diagnosis and cost analysis on what would be required to get it operational. Although I chose not to make the repairs as it was not a good investment in my mind, they maintained their professionalism and told me they clearly understood. I will use them in the future to service my other vehicles as I recognize and appreciate their transparency. I never got the feeling that they were attempting to “upsell” maintenance as is a routine practice of my current maintenance providers.

This was the second time I’ve been to The Shop with my vehicle. As it relates to my car, the experience was exceptional, just as it was the first time. What really made the difference was an odd request I needed help with. I left something important in my car before going out of town. Without any apprehension or hesitation, Jack got the item out of the car and brought it to my office so it could be shipped to me. He was genuinely interested in doing the right thing to help me. Nothing to do with the car. This is about character. Jack is the kind of person I like doing business with, and will be back to The Shop as a result.

Jack was great to work with as an advisor. He listened intently as I explained the car’s symptoms. I’ve never seen such a detailed, well written diagnosis with clear photographs pinpointing the problem areas. My car had needed quite a bit of TLC. The Shop was understanding and helped out along the way. The car feels great and I believe I’ve found a great mechanic for my Mercedes.

S550 hood would not open and I needed a new radiator installed. The Shoppe was able to perform service needed in a fast manner. They also inspected and diagnosed several other items that need my attention.

I recently used The Shops services to repair the typical issues found on many BMWs regarding gasket leaks. My 435i needed the valve cover and oil filter housing gasket replaced. The technician (Michael) was a great guy to talk to because my car has some modifications and we ended up talking for a few minutes about cars as car guys do. These guys are pros and genuinely love their BMWs as seen by the M3s you see parked outside their facility. Are they a little pricey? Yes, but after getting an estimate from a couple of other BMW specialty shops, I ended up going with these guys as they were still several hundred dollars cheaper. Also took my SUV in for an oil change recently, and they were nice enough to do a proper exterior wash even for a basic service. Also, they have a really nice setup to drop off and pickup keys if you show up outside shop hours. Give these guys a look if you own a BMW.

Worked quickly to ensure they got my car back to me before we had to move out of state. Fully detailed my car before returning to me. Five star service SO much better than the Midlothian BMW.

Had a PPI, compression test, cooling system overhaul (fan clutch, water pump, upper/lower rad hoses, T-stat/T-stat housing) and oil change done. I live in Dallas and was looking to buy a car in Richmond, worked with the Shop VA from a distance in preparation to drive the car home. These guys scrambled to get parts in and installed before I arrived in Richmond, and hit the deadline. Went above and beyond to help get temp plates on the car and even shined the tires so it looked great when I got there. Prices are fair, excellent work, and listen to your goals to understand what you really need to have done. Would give them more stars if I could.

I recently purchased my first BMW and was searching online for the most knowledgeable, professional and trustworthy Bimmer service in Richmond. As money was not my first concern, I assumed Richmond BMW would be the best. I went there first for a complete inspection on my X3 and was supremely disappointed with not only their service, but also their findings. Choosing to get another opinion, I brought my vehicle to The Shop because of their great reviews. I could not been more satisfied with my decision. The diagnostic was very fair, the report was so extensive (including pictures of scanner fault codes and videos), and Jack, their service advisor was incredibly professional and considerate of the performance of my car while also considering my financial concerns. I could hear the mechanic with Jack when he called with updates and they were completely available to answer any concerns and provide the most knowledgeable (not necessarily expensive) suggestions regarding my repair. Richmond BMW’s report mentioned repairs that were not necessary, but most shockingly failed to mention that my timing belt was about to come loose. This could have killed my car, and they completely missed it.My X3 is back and driving like new. Yes, there was some expense require, but I own a BMW. I could not be more happy with The Shop RVA, and they will performing any future service on my Bimmer.

They have a very interesting way of doing inspection reports that I have never seen at a shop. A detailed report (with pictures!!) was sent directly to my phone so I could look at it at any time. Very good value as well. Keep up the good work!

I think the prices are a bit pricey, I was given a different quote than what was sent, they adjusted, I was not told about a 150 diagnostic fee, they adjusted. I feel like if you are paying 2000 to get some work done, it is ridiculous to charge a diagnostic fee. Also 1 of the items they said need done(air filters) I personally did them 1 week prior to bringing my car in, And that kind of makes you think what other stuff on the list does not really need to be done

They corrected the problem and the repair costs was a lot less than I expected. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and informative.I am very pleased and will return in the future for service and repairs.

I came in for a check engine light. Even though they where busy the shop manager James was able to fit me in. Once they found the problems, I got a text and call about the issues. I dropped the car of Friday morning and they had the parts on order that afternoon to be delivered on Monday. My car was ready Tuesday afternoon. James and his team are very knowledgeable about BMW’s. I will take my car there for regular maintenance and performance upgrades. They sanitized my car and key before giving back to me.

I got a pre purchase inspection done and it was very thorough. Like others have said their process for taking appointments and sharing the results is very smooth and easy for the customer. On top of this, the team there went the extra mile in the customer service department being very helpful with my questions.

My experience was outstanding! The logistics of their communication, via text and email with pictures and a detailed quote, was impressive. When I verbally spoke with someone, that person was friendly and knowledgeable. I did have a mechanical item that I had requested to be fix that did not get fixed. This item involved the tire pressure monitor and the alert is still showing up on the panel inside of the car. I paid $6,800 for service and would have expected this to have been fixed.

Recently purchased a 07 Porsche 911 Carrera 4, my dream car! I took a risk buying the car online and out of state. The service in general was great and the staff are very helpful. My bad experience was me notifying staff that I already had the part I needed in the back of the car. However, they ignored my request to use the part that I brought in and sold me one of theirs. I’m happy I got the mechanic’s service but I’m not happy I got parts flippers.

You might have seen the review that my husband wrote when they first worked on our car. Who can you trust a dealership or a car shop that says they can work on your car! We have been taking our car to them for about a little over a year now. Our car was running ok then they got it running good. After awhile we we’re continuing to bring our car every two months to get more work done. We spent over $8,000 getting the motor work done then another problem happened and I car ended back up there. I was told that one more repair was needed for my car to be running great with no problems which costed over $4000. Two days later our car would not start and we had to get it towed back up there, Here come the two again! Our car stayed there for two months then they said that we needed a new motor due to some internal engine damage when they are the one that has been working on it. I was told that they would price a used motor, I called back later on to get my car because I REFUSE TO GIVE THEM ANYMORE MONEY! So now I had to get my car towed back home. Not only that, my husband brother passed on Thanksgiving and we had to rent a SUV to go out of town because our Mercedes SUV is sitting in the driveway with a motor gone, thanks to The Shop. It’s A Pandemic, don’t no one have this type of money to be giving away! Who can you trust a dealership or a car shop that says that they can work on your kind of car!!!!!!?????

I was 160 miles from Richmond with 2 warning lights. Talked with Adi and he explained the possible problems. Made it into Richmond and dropped the car by The Shop. Car also needed state inspection. The Shop gave me a thorough list of needed repairs. One part needed was on backorder due to Covid with a long lead time. Adi did some investigation and found a non OEM part that could be used in place (same manufacturer) and cut several weeks of waiting for part . I have found the Shops repair pricing to be better than dealers and so far good mechanical work.

My Wife and I have had the most outstanding experience with Adi and Kelly, these gentlemen were the epitome of Professionalism and World Class Service. We were having issues with our auto-warranty company approving our claim as a result of our cars transmission going out. My 2010 Mercedes C300 was making a lot of noise I couldn’t figure out. I took it to a local shop and they told me the work required more expertise than they had. I googled for shops that specialize in German cars and The Shop VA came up. I had my car towed there and after some time I received a link to web page with a picture of my car on it and the results of the diagnoses with pictures of the parts that needed to be changed and detailed price quotes. The guys at the Shop VA are the ultimate professionals and provide excellent service. I am glad I found them. Thank you the Shop VA! I rarely give five stars but you guys deserve it.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Took in my 2009 335i xdrive (140k miles) for a blown coolant hose, but I also had other things that needed to be evaluated that Ive been waiting to deal with. I do all of my own maintenance and minor repairs, but needed their experience and hands for the work that needed to be done. After a (far more thorough than expected) eval of my car, they gave me an itemized list of recommendations, organized by urgency, with itemized prices. They also called my warranty company and settled some of the payment. I had a great conversation with Kelly where he answered all of my questions, and provided his personal experience and input on the repairs. I ended up have the coolant hose and fitting replaced as well as my leaking oil filter housing gasket along with belt and tensioner. The car is running beautifully now. Will definitely return when I need more work done!

Had A/C repair on my 2008 Mercedes S550 (repair under my husband’s name Jamal Thomas). Repair costs were very reasonable compared to the dealer and although they couldn’t guarantee with certainty that the parts would fix the prob, it did fix it so I do believe they are knowledgeable. Not happy about them breaking my windshield wiper that was modified and replacing it without telling me they broke it. Also not happy about the communication which is priority no. 2 after price. Wasn’t notified when my car wasn’t going to be ready when I was told it would be and also I never received a call back when I asked about getting a loaner vehicle prior to them working on my car.

Some of the friendliest people Ive had the pleasure of working with. I brought my 2013 535i in for a valve cover gasket, oil cooler/housing gasket, drive belt/tensioner, and differential bushing replacement, and they had it done in about 48 hours! They gave me a nice Jetta to use and even cleaned the car for me! After having some terrible experiences at another, WAY overpriced shop (*cough* Bimmer Rescue *cough*), it was SO refreshing to work with Adi and his team. Prices are fair, service is excellent, and there was no pressure to add services I did not need. Knowing about cars myself, I was not too worried about that happening, but many of my friends dont know an engine from an alternator, and I will not hesitate to send them to Adi! Thank you guys for such a great experience, and I hope to work with you on upgrading the performance of my BMW in the near future!

I took my 2009 BMW to The Shop for an oil change and inquiry on a warning light for the brakes. Adi was very welcoming and explained how long the process would take, etc. The entire business including the garage part is extremely clean. The customer waiting area is stocked with everything a customer may need while they are waiting. By the cleanliness and attention to detail that I could visibly see as a customer, I knew that my car would be handled with care. They also did a comprehensive review of the car and had suggestions of other items to take care of but did not pressure me at all to get them fixed. Very honest!

Results of mechanical assessment are thoroughly summarized, clearly explained, complete with pictures of any problem areas...... and entire assessment report is emailed to customer for record keeping purposes. Obtained a Porsche that had been sitting for over 12 years and brought it to The Shop. They prepared an excellent detailed report listing items that needed service and items that were recommended. The customer service is great, being contact less and having to tell every issue over the phone isnt personable we can distance outside to speak, and everything does not require a $150.00 diagnostic, I told them I needed my spark plugs replaced bc the car was vibrating when parked, also if the motor mount was fixed correctly back in May, this wouldnt have happened imo, the spark plugs were just replaced last winter they last at least 4 yrs. Since the parts are under warranty I didnt have to pay for the collapsed motor mount, but I did have to pay for the spark plugs to be replaced. I knew something wasnt right when I got my car back rather quick when it needed $2000.00 worth of maintenance. Im going to continue going here, bc I do like their work, I just hope going forward they actually fix what I pay for at the time of service. Also ask if I want a diagnostic check b4 just doing it, $150 is ridiculous, when I already know the issue. This is not a bashing review at all, just be aware.

Everything went very well especially considering the Covid19 pandemonium. I am extremely pleased with the service and my vehicle is running great! I gave a four instead of five star because my computers were left uncovered and my trunk dismantled.

I bought a used BMW and was taking it elsewhere and had recurring problems. I had reached the point where I decided either the car or my mechanic was a lemon. I was at my wits end when I visited The Shop. Now, I am a happy BMW owner. These guys are serious about getting the job right. Their priority was my car and my satisfaction. A+ all the way.

The personnel at The Shop are so helpful, friendly and get the work done in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend them and prefer them over the dealership.
