I have always been incredibly impressed with the quality of customer service and true care I have seen at the Target Optical clinic in Richfield, Minnesota. The team has always taken incredible steps to provide great service and to ensure my eye health. Today, I had an eye health emergency and visited the clinic. Dawn immediately took action to address my issue, with support from Dr. Strang. Dawn is always phenomenal, going beyond the call of duty, and the whole team was a true life-saver for me today. I give them my highest recommendation.

The doctor and staff were highly personable, good listeners, and answered all my questions. They met all my patient care and eyewear needs. Patient care and eyewear. That rhymes. In time. And I got my glasses for a dime. That last part is a fib.

Friendly and very helpful. The optometrist explained everything and gave me options to best suit my contact needs. She was pleasant and professional. The sales woman was extremely helpful in selecting new frames. She looked at my face shape and made recommendations. Gray experience.

Needed some emergency help with my glasses. Drove here specifically for Target Optical and they were closing an hour before scheduled. Someone was still there but all lights were off and the barrier put up as if Id just missed it.

Ive gone to this location since this Target opened and its always been fine. Until the last approximately two years, the staff on the floor, particularly one young woman, has been so extremely rude, unpleasant, and unhelpful that I question why she works in a customer facing position. The optometrist I saw was great! Too bad this one woman is still employed here, because I will now be switching to another optical location. If Targets goals are to drive down business at this location and to make its customers feel like terrible inconveniences, brava! Goals met.

I went in for an appointment in early July to get my eye examined (I was having irritation issues) and to get an eyeglasses prescription/glasses. They told me my glasses would arrive in 7 to 10 days. I called after two weeks and was told it would be the following week. I called back again, and was told it would be another week. I called again and again, and it kept getting pushed back. Now 5+weeks later I called and asked for a refund. The eye exam did not solve my problem (I actually had to schedule an additional appointment to get eye drops) and the glasses never came. Worst experience ever.

I went Monday morning to get my glasses adjusted. The young woman who helped me insisted that my glasses werent purchased from Target. I offered to show her my receipt and tried to point them out to her (literally on the display wall behind her)–but she ignored this and flat out told me she refused to adjust them. Definitely the worst Target optical experience Ive had. Go to a different location.

My experience with this is slowly declining because I have ordered my glasses 3 weeks ago and no one is telling me anything. I paid a lot of money for my glasses. And I still have not received my glasses yet?! What is this? It should not take 3 weeks to get my damn glasses!! And I can’t get a hold of anyone for the life of me. What is going on! I should have got my glasses already. I have been patient long enough. Thanks for no help.

The receptionist was so nice and funny. The doctor was awesome. She talked and actually listened to me. She was super attentive and I really felt comfortable and taken care of. I will definitely go back to Dr. Lopez.

Horrible customer service. Rude and never answers their phone. Tried calling multiple days and couldn’t get through. Because of this my contacts didn’t arrive before I left town. I even stopped in on my way out of town and they wouldn’t assist me in getting trial pairs and didn’t offer to send prescription to another clinic where I was headed. Still calling for the last hour to try to get through before they close so I can have a prescription sent to my destination but they won’t answer or return voicemails.

Consistently a great experience. My daughter is 3 and needed her first pair of glasses. The staff was helpful, accommodating, and frankly, provided a better experience than some of the boutique shops we went to first. I also get my contacts through this location. Definitely recommend going, especially if you can time it with your weekly grocery trip...

Some of the worst customer service Ive ever encountered. Waited weeks and they screwed up the glasses. Weeks later and still waiting for the replacement. Ive called numerous times and cannot get anything but an answering machine. Never a call back. ?????

Saw Dr Lopez, she was great. In and out quickly. Had no problems with her. 5/5 stars for her service1/5 stars for the person who checked me in and set up my appointment asked if i wanted to do the non-pupil dilation scan so I didnt have issues with my eyes directly after the visit. She ran my insurance card and told me it would only be $20 extra for it. Got a lovely bill in the mail today for $100 for non-covered services, not the most expensive thing on the planet but wouldve been nice if they hadnt tried to upsell me on something for $20 when in actuality it was $120 (only after $170 in courtesy adjustments).

I went in today for a much needed eye exam. My eye was twitching due to too strong of a prescription from my Florida exam. The doctor was awesome, friendly, and informative. James was amazing at helping me find the perfect frames, type of lenses, and making sure they were a great fit. Thank you James! You just made a life long customer.

AMAZING!! James was fantastic, going above and beyond to help me with a very odd circumstance where I was stranded without contact lenses on vacation! Poor customer service from the ladies who work on the floor. Helping their guests has been a noticeable inconvenience lately, which makes for picking up glasses and having them adjusted an uncomfortable experience. I won’t be going back to this location.

I have gone there on several occasions to order contacts and each time there was some sort of problem in getting my contacts ordered. Moral of the story below is dont go to Target optical Richfield. Choose another location or go somewhere else.The first time I went there to order contacts a year ago there was a major mess up with my order and getting it corrected was a huge pain. I dont remember all the details but it wasnt fun and took several weeks and phone calls and trips to the store to get it sorted. I think I ended up paying for the contacts twice but by that point I didnt want to deal with them anymore so I just ate the cost.The second time I went there was this last week. I went because it is close to my house and how difficult can ordering contacts be? Well I walked in and asked to order the contacts and was informed that the prescription was expired but its only been 1 year since my exam. Prescriptions expire after two years ( mine did not indicate a 1 yr expiration) and a simple phone call from Target to the clinic would have solved the question any way which they would have had to do if I had ordered online. I really dont understand what the logic was there or why they thought my prescription was expired but they wanted me to come in the next day to call my clinic with them.Any way to make a long story short I just drove to another Target optical and ordered my contacts no problem with great customer service.

Ive come to this Target for years now and have always gotten my eye exams done at this location as well. Yesterday I stopped by for an impromptu eye exam and I had an amazing experience with one of their retail associates. I do not remember her name, but she had black hair with green/blue tips. She was so friendly and so helpful. Even though she was constantly on her feet helping people, she had no issues staying professional and cheerful. She did a great job of explaining my vision benefits and helping my find a way to get the most for my money. She deserves a raise AND a promotion!

Dr. Feldman might not be working there anymore. I was seen by someone else... I cant remember his name, but he was Hmong. He did an excellent job during the exam. Took his time, very thorough, very professional. I felt like I was in good hands. He came up with the prescription while I was there and the customer service guy took care of my order. Nothing out of the ordinary, at all. And it was all handled smoothly—in fact, I felt pretty good walking out of the store that day. I hadnt read any reviews prior to this exam, and when I came here to leave this positive review, I was surprised to hear about negative experiences at this Target Optical. I just got the call that my contacts came in. Early, at that. So, I highly recommend!

We came here tonight to get the lens we ordered. The lady doesnt know how to remove the lens from my current eyeglass so she asked for us to come back tomorrow. Wasnt apologetic. Its inconvenient having to come back again but we understand, we werent upset about it in fact we just smiled. We dont want her to risk breaking the frame which is what she also said. We asked about cleaning the lens because my eyeglass always gets marks and the cloth that came with it doesnt really clean it well, maybe because it was already old. We inquired about the cleansing spray which we might get when we come back tomorrow. I asked if I could have a new cleansing cloth and she hesitantly give one saying they normally give it to kids. What a very rude woman! So petty to even say that to customers. If you want us to pay for it, we will. Geez!She mentioned she only started few weeks ago hence shes not that good removing lenses. I recommend to the management not to leave a new employee working by herself if she cant fully perform whats expected of her job. Before putting new employee on the floor, I sure hope you include customet service in your training.Typically newer employees are friendlier, enthusiastic about their new job so I was expecting that from this woman but no, she acts like shes had enough of her job. No smile whatsoever and unnecessary comment about they only give cleansing cloth to kids. Its a little piece of cloth and she made a big deal out of it. Did that come out of your paycheck?I wish I had said something back to her but were really not the type who causes a scene. I hope that old woman is happy and can sleep well at night knowing she upsets people with her demeanor.

Good selection, but quality is lacking. When my glasses arrived the lenses were loose, so I had to go back to the store to have them order new lenses. I have also gone back 3 times for adjustments and my glasses still don’t fit right. Every time I go back for adjustments I’m told the glasses look fine and they quickly try to get me out of the store, even though when I get home the glasses are clearly crooked. Very rude customer service. I will never get glasses here again. Costco is half the price and I have never had issues with the customer service at Costco either, glasses always fit correctly the first time there. If target can’t get my frames to fit correctly this next time, I will return them under the 90 day satisfaction rule and go get glasses elsewhere.

I really liked my experience last time I picked out glasses--was very happy with the frames and the eye appointment. However, do not be late or they will cancel your appointment. I wish I had known ahead of time about the strict rule, because it does not take much to make you late during road construction season. The staff was unhelpful and unapologetic and did not care when I noted I took sick time to be there and rescheduling would not be simple as I had to make extra time for a contact fitting.

Got my contact lens prescription wrong. When I went to the Doctor he told me I had different prescriptions for each eye. However when the contacts arrived at my house, they were the same. When I went to find out what happened the staff was very rude. Eventually they got the prescription correct but they did not label which prescription was for which eye.

I dont recommend this location. I had poor customer service and errors with my order and there is no management to deal with issues. I was directed to use their online contact info and no one ever contacted me to fix mistakes that were made with my contacts. Be careful.

If I could rate this place with no stars, I would. This clinic is a joke. I went in for an eye exam to get new glasses and they asked me if I was interested in contacts. I told them I was not interested because last year I tried contacts and they did not work for me. He said that we can still try them to see if another brand would work. He gave me the contact to put in my eye myself. He gave me trials to take home (which i never used). I than went to the floor and tried on new frames. I was trying on frames that were small (rectangle). The lady that was working there kept telling me that those glasses were out of style and that I should go with big frames. I tried on lots of frames and finally found one I liked, that was in the middle of small and big, and just bought them. I went to go check out and while I was getting everything finalized, I used a whole bottle of eye drops. I couldnt take the discomfort of the contacts any longer, so I took them out of my eyes and threw them away (right in front of the lady at Target). The lady than finalized my transaction and told me there was an exam fee. I just paid the exam fee, but thought that my insurance covered that cost. Later I called the clinic, to find out that the exam fee was for the contact lenses fitting. Why did the doctor never tell me that there was a fee for this contact lenses fitting? You would think that the doctor would tell me this specially knowing that contacts have never worked for me in the past. I will never go back to Target Optical again and I will never refer anyone to there location to get glasses or contacts. They have so many hidden fees and when they are ringing up your glasses/contacts, they dont even give you the breakdown of the cost. I found out later that the person helping me put some extra add-ons, like a reflective coating or something like that. I will never go here again. You could tell that the lady worked off commission because she kept telling me to just get contacts and glasses because it is a better deal.. All I wanted was glasses not contacts, but since it was a better deal, I just got both. Since the contacts dont work for my eyes, they are just sitting in my closet in the box (unopened) and I still have all of the trial contacts except for the 2 I wore to try out that day.

Its nice to have a relaxing place to choose frames from!Update: When i picked up my glasses 2 hours before close, there werent any customers in the store, the 2 employees were standing around, i waited a few minutes to be helped. They said they couldnt let me in to properly fit my glasses at that time... No one seemed to know why...

A year ago I got an updated contact prescription here and told the doctor it was uncomfortable and giving me headaches even after a few weeks of wearing them. He dismissed me discomfort and told me I just needed to get used to it. So I did, a year later I reordered contacts and he changed my prescription, WITHOUT seeing me and says this is the correct one. Very disappointed and will not be returning a Target Optical ever again, two chances is more than enough.
