It took a while, but they were able to find several parts needed to repair my old laptop after I spilled milk on it. They even got my Bluetooth working (it was broken when I first received the machine).However, they neglected to note that the motherboard they found didnt support my touch screen, which I only found out after I brought it in a second time. I dont blame them for not being able to find the right motherboard (and the one they found is otherwise working fine), but maybe I should have asked for a partial refund.Also, the front desk staff dont wear masks most of the time, even though they have a sign on the door pointing out that customers are required to do so. And if youre tech savvy like me, you may find it frustrating that you cant talk directly to the person who actually does the repairs.

Buyer beware. This place is a nightmare of incompetence and lack of integrity. Owner Sam would take no responsibility for installing a broken screen on my laptop. Read the positive reviews you can tell they are fake. Standing around in this place for 15 mins will prove that little gets done properly. Misrepresented pricing, shoddy workmanship and poor customer service are what you will get. I wanted to support a local business but the result was a wasted $350 and a machine that was still broken.

I had a very SLOW computer that hasnt been updated/repaired since I got it. I took it in to Ryan and he reinstalled a whole new solid ware for me and updated windows. He was very attentive to my concerns and the service was very fast. There is a $55 diagnostic fee, which I am willing to pay for the speed of the service. Would recommend!

Went in to see if they had a couple motherboard standoff screws I could buy since no other store had them. They gave them to me free of charge. I havent used any of their services but that kind of action says a lot about a place. Thanks again!

For the past few years they have helped us keep an old computer up and running. When it was time to get a new computer I decided to have them build me one. They helped me decide what I needed, what I should have, and most importantly what was not needed as part of the system. Im extremely happy with what they built for me and see no reason to ever go to another computer shop for service or products again. Theyre a small shop but they did fantastic work.

I went here regarding a program on my laptop that wasnt opening without an error message, but still functioning, and another question about a separate drive that was visible and taking up 12G of space.They were helpful in that someone came out front to chat with me right away, but I was not told I would be charged $30. After five minutes I thought my resolution issue was solved but the guy couldnt explain what resolution even was I didnt press the issues because I thought they were just being helpful, but when I got home and it threw the same error messages I called to see about bringing it in for full service and crediting me the $30. She said they dont do that and didnt offer any other suggestions. HIghly disappointed! I run a small business so I was shocked at the lack of personal connection.If you want help with computing issues I actually suggest Best Buy. I ultimately went there and they went above and beyond to resolve my issues, and this wasnt the first time Ive received great customer service there. Those guys are passionate about what they do and for a big box store that is so uncommon, Thank you Geek Squad!

I have 3 older computers that I was hoping to recover any pictures from. I called to get an estimate and was quoted $150.00 for all three plus $90.00 external hard drive to put them on. I arrived with said computers to shop and was told that was a mistake, should be minimum 150.00 each! Just make sure you talk to someone who knows what they are doing.

Edit: From five stars to one star - My NEW battery stopped holding a charge almost immediately. Since I dont use the machine much, it took a while for me to notice it. The original issue was a swollen battery, but even that one held a charge. This one literally needs to be charged as soon as I disconnect the charger. After my emails to Mary were ignored for a few weeks, I called and spoke with Brent, who said, ...looks like the battery was purchased from Ebay... and also admitted that apparently, there were some issues with a previous person/s who had worked on my machine and that it may have been installed incorrectly, or that Ebay had sold them a bad battery. He asked me to bring the machine in to check it, so I did. They asked me to walk back and log in which I did, and then felt really uncomfortable after around 10 minutes of having them logged into my machine while I waited out front. They were able to discern nothing, and I did not bring the charger, which they wanted to check as well, so I returned the following day with the machine and the charger, only to be told (by the very same people who asked for it) they couldnt check the charger. I finally had a chance to speak with Mary, who denied what Brent had already revealed and said, thats ridiculous. Well clearly, someone is lying...but despite being lied to, I offered to at least pay the bench fee if theyd warrantee the battery, but instead, they said the warrantee was only 30 days and that Id have to pay for a new one plus the labor... UGH! Adding insult to injury, the quote for replacement was $150 more than the original replacement. When I balked, Mary told me the previous person (whom Brent had already mentioned) had quoted me incorrectly for the labor. Whomever this previous person was, must have been a nightmare. Unfortunately, Renton Computers has made their employee issues MY problem. After I insisted this shouldnt be MY problem, Mary said she would speak with the owner to see if they could at least replace my new/dead battery for the same price as the first time. She came back with an email and said, No.How do you like that?! They dont stand behind their work AT ALL if its beyond 30 days. CAVEAT EMPTOR.Original Review Apple wouldnt touch my 7-year old Macbook Pro due to vintage status. Its still a wonderful machine but the battery was swelling and causing the nearby trackpad to malfunction. It cost me $138 including the bench fee to swap out with an OEM battery. I now have a perfectly functional machine. This sure beats dropping $2K on a new one.Nice Job, Renton Computers!

What great people! Super helpful over the phone and even more helpful in person! I spoke with Mary on the phone and when I got there the owner was great. Very honest and good people. Could of charged me way more than they did! Another customer was there while I was and his repair was completed sooner than he expected.If you need repair, accessories or help, this is the place! Im here from AZ every month on business and will always come here for my PC needs!

Recently moved to the area and thought Id give RC a shot considering theyre close.Are charging more than anyone else to diagnose, was assured a call back and never got one, while Mary at the front desk was kind she was unaware that the site offered a price match until I showed her on the website.RC seems combative with online reviews which is not how you win new business especially when competitors with higher review ratings are less than 10 minutes away.No doubt theyll have some snarky response to this review as they seem to take negative reviews personally instead of seeing them as a business opportunity.Would be very surprised if their revenue isnt down year over year.. Not a good place.

Came in for software installation for a usb to RS232 converter on my new computer. Got billed $49.50 for diagnostics I did not need or want and then billed another $49.50 for an installation they could not do. I was very careful and specific as to what I wanted.

Can not perform simple solder repair for things like HDMI ports. If you need help getting something installed that is plug and play than perhaps this is the place to go; but it is not a “repair” shop.

My computer recently required servicing, as I could not even turn it on. When I took it to Best Buy, the place that I had bought it, even though it was still under warranty, they wanted $150 because I hadnt backed it up. I immediately took my product to Renton computers and with extremely professional, fast service they fixed it. My computer is back and as good as new. I highly recommend Renton computers to anybody seeking computer repairs or service.Reasonable, respectful, fast and reliable!!!I urge anyone to see them!JZ

In a nutshell; friendly, helpful, and value added. They werent able to recover my data, but it was a long shot and they gave it a good try. The drive replacement and re-install was done for a reasonable price and quickly. Even though its a long drive for me, they were worth it.

Last year I was told that my computer hard drive was going to crash by Dell and Best Buy and purchased the Best Buy Tech service and virus protection. The next time I had an issue with it (this Feb 15) I took it into Renton Computers and they had it up and running in just a matter of hours. No crashed hard drive. Saved me a lot of money and my computer is still running great. Thanks Renton Computers for the one on one customer service and fast turnaround time with my pc.

Bought new laptop and asked for price to transfer data. They said transfer would only take 1 day. Called to make appointment & they were suddenly very busy and transfer would take awhile.Then called Geeksquad and they did the transfer in 2 hours for $50 less.

Theres a $55.00 non-refundable upfront. I brought my computer in to reset the password, but they couldnt fix the problem. In order to fix the password problem I have to pay an extra $135.00. I declined. I will not go back to this shop again.

Just the facts. I took my computer in because I dropped it on the charging cable and the charging port was broken. They charged me $45 to diagnose the issue, an explained that I needed a new charging port. They quoted $20 for the part and $200 for labor. They also told me it wouldnt be done for a week.I wasnt happy with this, so I picked up my computer.I opened the back on the laptop, and noticed that the piece that was broken was an extremely simple fix, as in, you unplug the broken piece, and plug in the new piece. It was a fifteen minute fix, and I am by no means an expert, nor did I have the right tools.My opinion: They were going to charge me $200 to plug something in. Thats like paying someone to come over and plug your vacuum in for you. Absolutely ridiculous, and almost criminal that they would charge so much.

I had a very bad experience with this repair store. I brought my iMac in and told them the hardware is completely fine and nothing is broken. The only issue is that I couldnt start properly after upgrading the system. I paid $55 for diagnosis and was told the diagnosis will be done in 3 business days. I called on the 4th business day for the status and was told that itll be done by next day. On the 5th business day, I received the notice saying that the hard drive has failed the test. The solution is to replace the hard drive and have clean windows installation. With the data recovery from failed hard drive, the total cost is $555 + tax. I doubt if they even tried. So I brought my iMac back and my husband googled online and got the data backup, then reinstalled the system. Now my computer is working! No hard drive replacement at all. The only thing I can think of is that it is easy for a computer repair store to cheat the customers irresponsibly!

I had a broken laptop screen and I went a certain squad of geeks... and they told me that it would cost me $400-$500, had to be shipped in and I was not willing to pay that much after they told me that my laptop was only valued at $200-$300. My dad took me here and they said it would be only $180, done in an hour. Great customer service, shoutout to Greg Taylor. He was great and did an amazing job, I cannot thank him enough.

Yesterday our power went out in the middle of the afternoon, and when it came back up, our computers werent working. I called Sam, and he rearranged his schedule & came right away within 20 minutes to help fix the problems... Excellent customer service and my business computer works great! The hard drive crashed, lots going on with it. Tom at Renton Computers was right on it to fix it and help us work out payments. 6 mos. later (in another computer mother board goes!) Renton computers was there again to help and give us awesome customer service!

If I could give 0 stars I would! By far the WORST customer service I have ever received in my entire life! By the end of dealing with this company I was out $100, still broken laptop and in tears. I brought 2 computers here one after the other and BOTH times they didnt contact me. My laptop sat there for days because they didnt call me to let me know what the estimate was. They tried to say that they emailed me but obviously they did not have the correct email down for me. This happened both times with both computers. And I wasted 100$ for nothing because all they did was waste my time. I wasnt able to register for classes because I didnt have my laptop for so long. I even called them to check up on the status of my computer and they didnt say anything other than that its being worked on. I wouldnt waste my time or money on this company and I certainly wouldnt trust them to work on any of my laptops ever again! #horriblecustomerservice #overpriced #unhelpful #wasteoftime #wasteofmoney

Good place, good service. I had a mouse button stuck in the down position. Its not supposed to be an easy fix and the parts have to be ordered. Somehow the tech found a way to make it like new and got it done in a day. Also fixed a broken screen on another laptop and they had a used replacement screen that looks new and saved me about 30 or 30 bucks in the process. And on yet another laptop, the receptacle for the power plug had been replaced once by someone else so I handed it off to Renton Computers and its been working fine ever since. The tech there really knows his stuff.
