Went for the first time yesterday for fencing materials. These guys rock! Excellent service on the phone and in person. They helped me calculate how many fence pickets I needed and the guy loading the car helped check every board. Price was also FAR better than Lowes or Home Depot. This will be my go to for all lumber from now on!

I had called the store to make sure they had a wear your mask policy and was told employees and customers are required to wear masks. So my husband and I went down to get some wood to repair our deck. They had a sign posted by the door that a mask must be worn at all times. While we waited there was one women behind the counter helping someone without a mask and another employee only wearing the mask over his mouth. The employee that helped us wore his mask correctly, but the employee that took us out to the back lot to get our wood only wore his mask over his mouth. I kind of lagged back and he finally put it over his nose. If they have a must wear mask policy, I would hope it means over the nose and mouth. The service was great except this.

We called ahead for lumber, promised sizes and types in stock. Inventory was incorrect. What they had was in poor condition. They did find alternates for more money, but did do a little discounting.

Always helpful and sales desk personnel are extremely knowledgeable. The yard staff are great, too, and always help load.

When I enter a store to spend my money I like a greeting of may I help you, or well be with you in moment that didnt happen. Once we approached the counter and asked for help the service and advice was pretty good.

The best lumber and hardware stores have Dunn in their name. 9 or 10 stores. All great. Renton store has great people and an awesome location.

First time shopper. Ive been searching in vain for just enough insulation to fill a couple of wall spaces, not enough to insulate an attic. Maintenance suggested Dunn Lumber and they came though for me. Just the perfect amount of insulation to take care of my issue. Great staff-clean store-ill definitely drop by again.

I used to go to Home Depot for wood but I always have to spend extra time digging through the wood to get to the straight pieces. It is worth the extra cost to go to Dunn Lumber, the staff is very friendly and the wood is better quality. Excellent customer service. Called ahead and they had it at the desk ( the lady ones.) Did not have to ask them to help me get it to and into the car, they just did it. Small store but very worth the trek from summer to buy the 10 gallons of fence paint. Pricey but worth it.

I just left Dunn Lumber in Renton and wouldnt recommend them to anyone. The sales person was so rude, and I left without purchasing what I drove 8 miles top buy. I was so upset by the eye rolling and attitude, threw my hands up and walked away. I will take my business elsewhere.

Just got back from Dunns, while hoping to order a custom french door for our new house in Renton. Walked in, very few customers, and lots of sales people. Not one person offered to help and when we did ask for help, no-one seem to have the expertise to help us with ordering a door. But what frosts me to no end that this day in age, that you have adults who are pointing at you, commenting, and snickering behind your back because they suspect youre gay. If I had know this before walking out after no help, Id cussed them all out. Ill be ordering directly from the manufacturer as my money is just as good somewhere else. Totally pissed about this.

They have the lumber the big chain stores dont carry try finding channel siding at Lowes or Home Depot, they have more people to serve you than the big stores have. They would get 5 stars but they are more expensive.

My husband and I were trying to purchase lumber for our fence. We were “helped” by Rick and he was unbelievably rude. Whenever we asked a question, he answered it like we were complete idiots. I thought sales people were supposed to help answer questions and educate people on the product. Customers shouldn’t be expected to be experts themselves. Hopefully Rick was just having a bad day and this isn’t indicative of how he typically treats customers.

My experience with Dunn Lumber begins on a Sunday when my wife and I wandered into the Renton location after leaving the blue and orange place. We had deck questions and felt it was like trying to pull teeth to get information or guidance on our deck decisions. We know we wanted other than wood, but didnt know all the pros and cons of making the decision. Cue, Brent. Brent met us as we were wandering and began telling us exactly what we needed. Details. As we narrowed down our wants and needs, he went to work letting us know he would be at our service to help put a package together.A couple of weeks and several e-mails later we ordered. Delivery was to come in two stages. Framing materials first, decking and associated items the following week.Dunn Driver Dave was the most energetic, enthusiastic happy delivery driver I have ever met. He had a lot to do, and got right to work after a quick social exchange and put every item delicately in our drive way as if it were being airlifted in. I felt great knowing that he took great pride in doing his job well. Due to an ordering snafu, some materials had to be picked up and exchanged. Dave again, contacting me about his eta and expected amount of items to be picked up and/or swapped.The decking material (delivery #2) was delivered by Eric (I think) Eric was a little more subdued, but handled our very expensive Azek decking like a pro, and explaining how he was unloading as I watched. I was mesmerized.Heres the bottom line. I may have payed a few pennies a linear foot more, or a couple of bucks on an individual item, but the bottom line is my time was never wasted. These guys take ownership and I will definitely be using Dunn for my future lumber needs.Keep up the good work guys.

Customer service at the counter is alful. You wait in line somewhere around a round counter and hope you can get waited on. People just walk up and counter staff helps them and ignore customers waiting to pay.
