We went looking for ATVs, one for myself and one for my fiance. We knew roughly what we wanted, but neither of us had owned one ourselves and it has been a long time since we rode one too. We came in and we able to look at the few models they had on the floor by ourselves for a few minutes, then Justin Cole came over and answered every. Single. Question. We. Had.Ive never come across a more knowledgeable sales person in my life! He was friendly, informative, funny, and honest. They were out of stock of the the type and style we wanted so he put our names on a list and said hell call us as soon as theyre in.BVH has an amazing employee and sales manager

Broke a piece off my helmet visor mounting base. The store didn’t have the replacement in stock, so they took a set off of a new version of my helmet and sold it to me. Easily could have said they didn’t have one and it would have been fine (it’s a cheap but specific part). However, they saw a chance to help out and did….I’m not from here but if I was I would give them all my business

They are highly inexperienced or flat out do not care about their job. First, I purchased a battery from them, which they did not fill. I had to come back and get it filled. Then they over filled the battery and kept the bolts/breather tube. To finish with because they over filled the battery it leaked out onto my interior causing lots of damage to my trucks carpeting. I will NEVER be back at this location. Absolutely baffled at the neglect here. 0 out 5 stars!!!

In the past 20 years, weve given BVH about the same amount of business as Michaels, though I think weve bought more gear at BVH. The people, selection and prices have been fine. The thing about Reno, even with the recent spurt of growth is that competition is in a brand basis rather than a dealer basis. That is the nearest Honda cycle dealer is in Carson City where say in L.A. you could probably walk from one to another. So the 4 stars are my only comment about the time it took 2 weeks to get a tire for a model in its 4th year on sale.

Called a week ago asking if they had a throttle cable in stock for my kid’s CRF50. Parts department said they had one in stock. Drove to the store and they couldn’t find it and I was told someone from the shop must have grabbed it. Was planning on going out on a ride with my kids that weekend but not a big deal, they said they could have one in 2-3 days and give me a call. I could get one cheaper in the same amount of time online, but I like to support local businesses when I can. 6 days go by and still haven’t heard anything. Called today and now it’s backordered and expected in 2 weeks. Two weekends in a row I can’t take my kids out. I gave 2 stars because the parts department was friendly and apologetic but they really need to work on their inventory issues. Lesson learned. I will be ordering my own parts from now on.Edit: Big thanks to Reno Motor Sports! They saved the weekend. Had the OEM Honda throttle cable in stock and 10 bucks cheaper than BVH. Definitely earned my business.

They did the exact opposite. Saying that my bike would be done one day, then the next then it was done two days later than what it was originally said to be done. I didnt have a problem with it as I wasnt in a rush but thats not cool. Plus they put parts on their that I didnt agree to without telling me but said it was okay because it was lower than my quoted price. So just because its lower makes it automatically okay to put parts on without my consent? Not cool. I will never bring my bike here again and tell my fellow riders to do the same.

Several days after BVH reopened, I called to speak with sales regarding the purchase of a SxS. Whoever I spoke with took my name and contact information and told me a sales associate would be calling me.Four days later I had not yet received a return call. So I called again and was told they were extremely busy, but reassured me that sales had my information and I would receive a call. It’s been almost two weeks now and I still have not received a call. Very poor customer service and follow up.I worked in the parts department of Northstate Powersoprts ( Chico Honda Motorsport) for many years. I know how busy it can get, but never did I or our shop neglect to return a call to our customers. I find BVH, at least in the sales department to be very unprofessional. They’ve lost my business.

Too bad I had to give a whole star to this debacle called a dealership ! A friend and I went to BIG VALLEY HONDA to buy a motorcycle but were told that the only salesman on duty was extremely busy and would not be available for quite a while. We looked around anyway as that is why we were there !The morning of the next day, I telephoned the General Manager (named Wayne) and attempted to get a price on the cycle I had seen on the show room floor. Wayne stated that he had no sales people available until after 2:00 PM so I would have to call back in the afternoon. What do you suppose would happen if a cycle that I would buy needed service or warranty work ? NEVER will I set foot in a dealership that has only a General Manager working ( or should I say, taking up space) and no sales or service personnel !Any way, I am now enjoying my new cycle but it certainly is NOT a ----- HONDA !

When we took it in again they kept telling us they would look at it and we never heard from them. So after a couple days we called and they DIDNT EVEN KNOW IT WAS THERE!!! Are you kidding me?? They had it for over a week! Finally after finally starting to become a little uneasy they want to charge us $300 to clean it before they can run more tests?? This place is an absolute joke.I should of paid attention to the horrid reviews before taking it in but unfortunately since my jet ski is Honda, this is the only place in Reno that will work on it....

My wife and I took a trip to Reno on our VTX 1800, and on the first night of a 3 night 4 day trip we blew a rear tire and managed to keep from dumping the bike. We had it towed to our hotel and parked it for the evening wondering what we were going to do next. The very next morning I called Big Valley Honda when they opened at 9:OO am. This guy by the name of MJ from the service dept. answered the phone and listened to my story. I explained I was now stranded at my hotel and needed to get tires on my bike.I was totally amazed when he paused and said no problem getting me in if he can locate the tires for my bike and would call me right back. I recieved a call back shortly and told me to get the bike in and he had two different brands of tires front and back to choose from. When I arrived MJ was at the service door to greet me and got my bike on the rack right away. He then had another fellow start work on the tire changes. I can only tell you that I felt like I was one of their customers for years and that MJ was an old friend. I have never been here before and had only just met MJ. This place is top notch,A-1, customer oriented in my book. MJ even gave me an education on motorcycle tires and taught me how to prevent this from happening again. On top of all this I recieved a discount on the tires and labor and they had me out the door and back on my vacation by 1:OO that day. I was totally flabbergasted. Thanks guys for turning a bad night into another beautiful vacation. MJ my hats off to you and your service team. Thanks again!.

Three stars or five stars? I settled on four. The service department and parts desk are totally FIVE STAR operations. I cant imagine why anyone would take a Honda bike anywhere else. And they can find the parts you need. Nuff said.Sales needs a bit of work. Knowledge of product would be a good start. (Really, its not that hard.)And, seriously, if someone is bringing $9,000 cash in for aboruchase of a new bike, you should 1: get them off of hold and talking to someone, and 2: be set up like a dealership. Making people dropping that much cash on a desk go fund change to use a vending machine for a soda is less than professional. The actual sales go fairly well (aside from not telling the DMV they need motorcycle temps. Which is a thing) and they habdle the process quickly and painlessly. But the service department! People travel fom the bay area and I see why. Amazing

They worked on my 2014 cb1100 (which i had purchased from them 4 months earlier), adding led lights and resistors to my front and rear turn signals. when they added the resistors, the led lights would not turn on any longer, though the bulbs worked, because they installed the resistors to the wrong polarity.... they would not fix it, and wanted me to pay more money for them to work on it when they messed up the install to begin with. the staff was been extremely unprofessional in the mechanics bay when they told me about this issue and tried to get me to authorize more labor hours for them to attempt to, maybe, fix the issue, but no guarantees...... terribleThen, when i tried to get parts, and advice for my wifes 250 rebel, they gave me wrong advice, telling me that forks and heads from ANY 250 would fit and work properly.... that mistake cost me well over 1000$ in parts and labor to repair....Today, when i called for parts, after putting me on hold 3 seperate times, instead of staying on the line while he looked up my stuff so i could ask him further questions about the parts or for details, he didnt even take the time to say goodbye when i told him i would come in to place my parts order. the guy, chad, just hung up on me. this is not the first time, and i have been holding off on putting up this review in the hopes that things would get better, but this shop is terrible. i would go anywhere else, if there was another honda dealer in reno, or even if i knew of one in fallon or fernly....when i bought my 2014 bike in may of 2014, the sales guy didnt even offer me any add-ons, or tell me that they existed.... great sales technique right....the only thing that was redemptive about this shop is the the HEAD manager, or owner, i am not sure. that guy is the only one who is consistently professional and helpful.UPDATE:they are rectifying the issues listed above and, though it is taking a little bit of time to figure out the proper method of customizing the 2014 CB1100 for LED tail lights and head lights, we are making progress. the service manager Jeff, and his associate, Mark, have been very helpful and are working diligantly to get this issue resolved. i must say, this is the kind of service i like to see in any kind of auto/bike shop i frequent. i will update this post again when my issue is fully and finally resolved. but, so far, so good.UPDATE AGAIN: so, now its winter again, and STILL my lights are not fixed. ive been trying to get a hold of the manager for The past four months. He has not responded to any of the messages that I have left with any of his people; however, he may not of gotten those messages. If that is the case, its probably worse. At any rate, I finally figured out that in 2014 all CB 1100 motorcycles of any subtype were actually miss wired in the factory so that the lighting system for all but about 10% of CB 1100s made in 2014 actually has the electrical polarity reversed. So positive is negative and negative is positive. And thats not a problem when using incandescent light bulbs; but when using LED bulbs reversed polarity makes LED bulbs not function. I. E. They wont turn on, blink, or anything.well, i just Left a message with one of the ladies at the parts counter with all of said information for the general manager. Lets hope he gets back to me sooner rather than later because this is getting really frustrating.UPDATE TO POSTAs of july 1, 2018, I am a much more satisfied customer as the new manager has taking care of the issues I have had and have actually done really well by me with the arrangement. They fixed the exhaust perfectly, and after the ridiculous amount of time it took the manufacturer to get us the parts, my bike has been in good running shape since.AND, they did manage to get the LED stuff fixed properly. there was a little bit of a complication from the factory, because there was a wiring polarity reversal that had to be addressed. Now the LEDS run perfectly, and Im even scheduling them to do my sprockets and chain this Saturday!
