The only reason I come here is for the tortillas. Hands down. BEST Store made/ bought TORTILLAS EVER.

The food was some of the best around Redwood city. We eat at every Taqueria here and by far this ranks on the top of my list. The food is flavorful and is better then most. The Flautas are the best and the crunch tacos are delicious.

Hand made tortillas [tortillas a mano], great service. No AC on this 92 degree day but the beer is cold!They have a bathroom for cutomers, but there was no toilet paper or soap.I ate my carne asado taco too fast, so the photo is my empty plate.

A typical small Mexican market. Narrow aisles with full shelves. Very nice meat counter with typical Hispanic cuts of meat. Nearly all of the signage is in Spanish though all but one employee spoke fluent English . Parking can be a bit crowded. If you’re looking for fresh masa dough, they make it early in the morning and usually sell out by noon.. we ordered ahead and ours was ready when we walked in.

The tortilla are good! Really good taste like theyre hand made. The chorizo is good too otherwise the meat doesnt look to good there.

These are the only place that makes authentic tortillas(tlaxcali) made from nixtamal(hominy) and not corn flour which is not authentic. They have freshly made daily tortillas and their carnitas are soooo goood!!!

The restaurant side has some of the best Mexican food that Ive tasted former Berkeley Farms driver

Best chicharrones I’ve ever had hands down! And I’ve had my fair share.They’re SO fresh and still hot. You get to scoop your own which is fun too. They were all super friendly and welcoming and loved how excited we were. Really good really fresh tortillas too! Definitely going out of my way to come here again.

The best tortillas are sold here! They are freshly made and I believe they dont have a lot of preservatives because they dont last months... Not that they would last that long in your household anyway lol

Best masa for tamales!

I would drive out to Watsonville often to buy carnitas at Carnitas Trejo because of the authenticity in the flavor and freshness as they were comparable to carnitas from Quiroga Michoacan,Mexico.Carnitas Trejo closed down for unknown reasons and I had a hard time finding carnitas that were just as good in San Jose California and the Bay Area at that.For a year or so,I settled for Carnitas El Rincon and the disgusting carnitas they served that at times tasted like they were sitting for days because I felt like I didnt have many options.My father in law recommended La Estrellita and it was an instant hit.Every mexican restaurant is defined by there salsas and La Estrellita has salsas that are extraordinarily flavorful and have a kick to them.The Carnitas and tortillas have flavors that remind me of Mexico as you can taste the freshness and flavor in every bite.I would highly recommend La Estrellita to anyone looking for a delicious bite to eat.

Im a long time customer and went to buy milk before there posted closing hour of 8:00 pm. I was there at 7:56 and the door was already locked. Security was standing at the door and told me they were closed and then ignored me and walked away. I kept knocking knocking to get there attention to tell them that there was still time. All ignored me. Finally the cashier lady gave me a sign that they were closed and pointed at there clock, there was still a minute on there. If your closing hours have changed then make your adjustment on the front doors store hours. If this is how a long time good customer is treated then Ill just plan to shop elsewhere. I go there for convenience not for your prices. Ill begin shopping else where.

Making tamales for the Holiday season and bought 30 pounds of masa. When we arrived home and opened the bag of masa it was full of oil/grease. It was so full of oil/grease that we couldnt get it to form to the consistency needed to spread the masa on the hojas. My elderly mother in law went into the store for a refund or an exchange for a batch that was not so oily. She was met with a rude and confrontational lady behind the counter. She was denied access to talk to the owner after being belittled by the lady behind the counter. Due to no staff wearing names tag we dont know this ladies name. She also kept our receipt and refused to return it back to us. My mother in law could not carry the masa back in the store due to the weight and asked the lady behind the countertop to look at it. The lady behind the counter calls security on my mother in law and had her escorted out. This luckily was all caught on camera. Horrible customer service and I hope the owner is aware of how their staff is representing their company. I will make it my due diligence to make sure nobody is ever treated with such disrespect again by this unprofessional establishment. Again with this being the Holiday season tamales are in demand and are going to be a huge part of our Christmas with our family. This unfortunately will delay our plans, but we will get our masa from another establishment that makes their masa more traditional. If I could give zero stars I would.

The staff is very helpful the cooked food is very good but dont buy none of their deli meats made me sick to my stomach

La Estrellita is our go to place when we crave carne asada at work, which is typically twice a month or more for the last 3 years. We get 10-20 lbs of the marinated meat and chicken and it is always excellent. They also make the best salsa rojas Ive had in many years. The salsa ranges from spicy to very spicy and always has great flavor.

I like there Carnitas made of pork,they are authentic just like the ones from tieras caliemtes in Michuacan, Mexico. The cueritos are delicious.there is a restaurant a little store and a tortilla factory also.

The enchiladas Michoacan style are very good with chicken or your choice of meat. it does take time and a little pricy but for what it is its decent.

I went here with my sister, and they messed up both of our orders. My burrito also had a ton of grease and oils build up at the bottom, so the last 4 or 5 bites tasted terrible and got all over my hands.

The truth is that they sell quality products, tortillas for example are excellent like nowhere else, but in terms of customer service there is much to improve, for example, you arrive at the checkout and say good morning and no one answers you, come on at tortillas and you say good morning and nobody answers you. There is a long-haired boy who always denies us the bags and tells us that they are worth 25 cents despite the amount of merchandise we buy.
