I used to love this place for many years including the Sunnyvale location when I lived in the South Bay. Everyone was friendly and nice. Since I moved up here and visited the taqueria a few times, one older lady always gave me poor tastes. I asked her one time to put only cheese and carne asada in my burrito. Since I’m not getting any other things, rice, beans… so I asked her to give me a little bit more cheese. She said Nope, it will be extra $1.5! Seriously? So I said it’s ok, I’ll pass then. But she went ahead and told the cashier to charge me the extra cheese. They spoken in Spanish of course so I didn’t realize until I got home. That is not the way to run a business. If she isn’t the owner and the owner is reading this, this lady needs training. You have an unethical and mean spirited employee at the deli. There are many great burritos places around. I’m not coming back because of her. All cashiers and other staff are extremely friendly and nice. It’s a shame to have her there.

Great hot food and super nice staff. But the grocery prices are like Whole Foods for reasons I dont understand (e.g. a carton of Dreyers Vanilla Icecream is $10.50)

The taqueria inside is amazing. Simple looking food but bold flavors. The fresh chips and salsa are addicting. The carne and pollo asada tacos are a must.

Hot food must be fairly good judging by the long line. I cook my own Mexican food, so havent tried it. However, their meat counter has the best Harris Ranch beef. Love their flap steak for grilling. Also, their Chavez tortilla chips are super crunchy, corny and delicious.

Two words for the skirt steak - the best! Decided to grill up some protein & was told to try this local market by an old friend of mine in Redwood City. Their deli is off the charts. Choices, choices & more choices=no bad decisions. Forget Safeway & other local delis, this is now your go to place.

There is a restaurant here that has really good Mexican food. I enjoy ordering at the counter and watching my meal being expertly prepared.You can dine in or take out. And, the prices here are very reasonable

This is my favorite store of their many locations. There is a taqueria in store for takeout or you can sit at one the many tables. It serves fantastic authentic Mexican food including handmade corn tortillas. The meat department of the grocery store is clean and well stocked with good quality beef and poultry. There are well trained and knowledgeable butchers behind the counter, something no longer found at most modern grocery stores.

Went there to have some quick shopping for a party. Found everything needed. Place was not crowded so it was easy for me to buy. Parking is small and you may find difficulties in parking your vehicle because of narrow lanes. Staff was helpful. Prices are almost normal for everything.

Very disappointed in the customer service at the food station, the man was rude, disrespectful and I was discriminated against.. Been supporting Chavez for 25 yrs!

One of the top locations in redwood city with premium mexican food at reasonable prices. I highly recommend this place for quick groceries, or a quick burrito.Chavez Meat market has been a well establishment in Redwood city for years.

Chavez Market on 5th is a favorite for my family and I! My kids cant get enough of their food from the Taqueria there. We go almost every week and absolutely love it. The market has a ton of great stuff. Their meat selection is awesome. Its super convenient for us so its a quick place to go grab just about anything we need.

Cant say much about the shopping, great food, but sometimes long lines. Reasonable prices. Its nice that they have seating (they dont at the one in mountain view. )

They were extra nice in the meet department. The person handling my ingredients was extra clean with proper hand washing technique. And the had an extra clean chopping block.

I went there to purchase stuff for Atole and was basically lost. 3 gentlemen, I assume managers went completely out of their way to help me find everything I needed. They were lifesavers as I hate shopping. A big giant thank you to all three. The produce looked top notch as well.

I go for the Taqueria. Food is decent for a fast food vibe, but it does feel a little measured. By that I mean they literally weigh the meats for your burritos. Still, its generally tasty grub

Decent fast Mexican food. Not the best Ive had, not the worst. I found as expensive if not more so, than an actual restaurant and you dont get chips and salsa. You also dont have to wait much to get your food, so its a trade off. If they dont offer an item when building your order, and you request it, you will be charged for it, even if you declined all the other toppings. (Daughter got tacos with meat only and requested sour cream). Very clean store, close to where we were staying. Wouldnt rule out a return when we are in the area again.

The food at the taqueria is absolutely delicious - a little pricey, but with it. I like the quesadillas best.They have great Mexican and Latin American grocery products here (not to mention better produce than a lot of nearby supermarkets) but their basic American groceries are a bit expensive and probably best bought elsewhere.

Good quality meats, and a good variety of groceries are available. They also have the best burritos in the area.

The store was excellent good quality all cashiers were veryproffessipnal friendly smart but what I was very dissatisfied was the recycling in the back this guy just started an agument right off and said they were closed for lunch it was around 11:30 I came back he started to be rude mean he didnt know how to talk or treat customers from what I seen he told me he wasnt goona give any service I said Ill call the police which I should of done but instead I call the co reported him it will go to his supervisor I think his supervisor was in on it all I did approach him and ask him did you hear the was this employee is talking to me treating he just shook his look was no I dont want even get involved seriously it is a crazy nightmare Im having I ended up at another recycling place waited another two hrs all for whooping 15.00 the pain agany stressful day just one of those days I guess I dont know if I want to go do my recycles anymore I still will think about it next time DFT
