It is one of best stores Ive visited in Redlands. It is my first time to visit there ever since I was 14 years old. Coin owner and dealers in there are professional and honest people to buy and sell rare coins, sterling, jewelry, etc. Their rare coins are improved better than others Ive ever seen in person. It is pretty tough to look and buy any certified coin with a better grade instead of looking online.

This is the worst place to go to. I gave them my coins to appraise in hope of selling. When I returned they only offered me 43% of their worth and acted like it was a good deal. Also I have meticulously organized my coin set and they just put all of my coins in plastic bags. Ruining hours of pain staking organization that I did. The son was also quite short with me and rude. If you are looking to sell your coins dont do it here.

I was very excited to check out Briggs & Coops. Being that Redlands is my home town I always look to support local store owners first. Walking in my wife and I were never greeted or acknowledged in any way. We had brought a few stamps in with us just to find out any historical value they might have had. Upon showing them we were told they werent worth anything other than their postage value. This was determined without even looking at them. We went elsewhere and found that they did in fact have some value to them. I have a large coin collection and this made me realize that this would not be a place to bring them. I will not be returning to this store, ever. If you have coins there are a few others around that will gladly give you their time and attention.

I have been buying and selling at Coops for close to half a century. The integrity and honestly here is impeccable. The knowledge Randy has acquired over decades will serve you well to realize the value of your coins stamps or jewelry. This knowledge has been passed on in the family and JR, Randys son, is effective in the review and offering of the maximum value for your items. The support staff offers great support and assistance to your needs as well. This is a place where you will feel comfortable without pressure and receive a real and fair offer. Give them a shot...you will want to write me a hand written thank you note.

During my dealings I have been treated fairly and honestly as I would expect from a good, reputable business. The staff is knowledgeable and will make an effort to understand the needs and desires of the customers. I have been in other coin shops only to be disappointed. I would like earlier hours of operation because of my own business hours, but I am willing to work with their availability because of the good customer service.

I have to say I am highly disappointed in how this establishment does business. Their customer service is a joke. I am posting on behalf of my mother who only brought a coin collection in because she was instructed to by the estate attorney. I think Randy Briggs is shady at best. He didnt explain things, didnt let my mother place her coins on the counter but instead dug into it and began separating things as if he already owned it. Told her they were worth nothing but bought plenty. Also had an identical coin in the case for sale for well more than what he paid for an entire lot. I think he took advantage of my moms lack of knowledge and the emotional state of affairs. If you want to get ripped off by all means, Im sure this is the place to go. Otherwise find someone with some decency and some class. There is no excuse for Randys actions today.

I was disappointed. Took my collection And gentleman went through it and was ready to make me a offer. I went in wanting to know if they graded coins and how the process works. I was told he didn’t recommend grading, I would be wasting my money, he could give me a visual grade, and then I asked about their auction and he said the coins are just up there and it doesn’t mean they are going to sell. He made everything seem unappealing. None of my coins were slab worthy yet he was ready to pay me for some, proof sets and mint set two which are key dates with Doubleling. Also They have a chart on their website 100 rare coins and it says if you have them to bring them in. I went through the list and grabbed those I had in my collection. Nothing good but wants to buy them? Why offer $50 if it’s nothing? That’s 50 for one coin so far and that’s all I herd because I reminded him I wasn’t selling. He seemed upset bothered when i said I did not agree to sell. I was looking for a place to help me submit my coins, possibly auction consignment. Maybe I’m wrong for feeling this way, maybe I got the wrong impression about coin shops. Maybe he assumed I was like most of his customers that just go and toss coins on the counter and are happy getting a few bucks. I have a large personal collection I’ve accumulated simply because I’m fascinated by them. To be treated that way made me feel terrible.

Best coin shop Ive ever been to. I mostly collect (or try to) collect antique coins around mid 1800s- 1940s and I have had quite a bit of luck finding quite a few in the large bins near where the stamps are. I really do enjoy being there.

Today was disappointing. I went in to this business for the second time with some of my collection handed down to me from my Grandfather. i brought some Morgan and Peace $1 dollar, pure silver maple leaf, one 1964 Keneded half dollar, some mercury dimes, 1969 (s), 1955, 1958, 1943 pennies, And some foreign coins. I was very eager and excited to gain more knowledge on the collecting business and also needed to sell some coins for a much needed doctor appointment. Now to backtrack-to my first time walking in their. I received help from Mr. Todd on the first go around. I found him to be nice and really informative! I had only brought with me the Morgan and peace dollar coins, which he evaluated and gave me a price for them but also a little bit of information on them. I told him of my interest in collecting and asked him for some ideas as to what to look for. He said it’s really up to the collector because each collector has their favorites. Then he gave me some coins to look out for because I mentioned to him that I would like to not sell today and bring them in and some of my other coins next time I come in.Now to ge to my visit today, I received help from Mr. Briggs Jr and was very disappointed. He was very short and was not forthcoming at all. He evaluated the same coins I showed to Mr. Todd and ended up giving me a lesser offer price for them, which I did not bother to argue. I told him that Mr. Todd recommended the pennies that I brought in for the specific years that he mentioned and he just push them to the side and did not bother to really look at them. I know he has been in this business probably his whole life but I was still hoping for a little feedback on them. I am young and was very excited and eager on collecting and he dampened my spirits a little bit. He spent probably all of 4-5 minutes looking at all the coins I brought, giving the most basic information on them. I asked him the same question I had asked Mr. Todd, which was, if there is anything I could look out for in starting a new collection of my own. He just gave me a blank stare. I started to elaborate since I did not get a response and I asked him if there was any coins I should look out for in any denomination, for instance the Jefferson nickels or the Roosevelt dimes. His response was no. By that point I was eager to leave. From the two times I have went there and observered, it seems like they pay more interest to the older people that go in there (Mr Todd not included). It’s a little discouraging for someone like me or my generation who are interested in coins and would like to further gain a better knowledge base of them. You know that feeling when you walk into a store and you immediately feel out of place or uncomfortable, that’s what I felt today when I was leaving.

When I first started collecting a decade and a half ago one of the first places I dealt with was Coops. I told Randy Briggs I was new and was looking to deal with someone I could trust and that wouldn’t take advantage of my inexperience. I gave him the opportunity to function in a paradigm of long-term integrity over short-term greed from day one.Big mistake!!!!Now, as a very educated and knowledgeable collector I’m constantly amazed when I look back at the absolutely worthless trash Randy knowingly, purposely sold me. There’s no doubt in my mind that Randy is a knowledgeable numismatist. However in my opinion he lacks integrity and has no issue with taking blatant advantage of newbies.Since the entire staff is now spawn from the same mold I suspect the paradigm is the same throughout the facility. If you have the knowledge to spot a hustle then it’s a very nice facility. However in my opinion if you need to ask advice while you’re there the answer you’ll receive is whichever lines their pockets the best.

Walking into the business I felt uncomfortable and felt like I was not suppose to be buying coins. The employees did not entertain me and entertained certain customers that were the same ethic group as them. They did have a good variety of coins but no great customer service. Im posting from my girlfriends site as I, as a numistmatist am teaching my disabled girlfriend both the collecting and investment warrants of coin collecting. Although I find that this coin store could be a little more personable, and I only can compare of owning a Used and Rare bookstore for 25 years, I see that they need to have a cautious but professional approach to selling. small talk is kept to a minimum which some of the old timers may not like but overall I can see their commitment to their customers but looking at their bottom line,.. making a living. With that said, I do like their numistmatic knowledge and although I have not personally tested their Philatelic demure or specialized skills Im delighted that they cater to this dying hobby. I admire their stock and their supplies, books etc. that certainly helps the collector and am very grateful for the continual bid board opportunities of desire. Thank you for being here and commiting yourself fully to both the collector and invester. You know me as Randy, the guy with the one of many COWBOY hats.
