Heres the deal.I dont know who the original Paul Stower was, but I do know Kevin, the owner of the shop now.I know him because I have been going there for about 6-7 years.I found them after hearing rumors about a shop that treated women fairly. Now, Im not a woman, but Ive heard the cliches about this sort of thing and took this to mean that they are simply fair, and do good work.My actual experience was them replacing two fuel pumps on my diesel ram truck for nearly half of what I was quoted elsewhere.They bid was exact, the estimated time was exact and the work was done right.I have used them now for years. I sent many people there, men and women, and all of them are treated the same.They are quoted a price and a time. Both of them are met. The price is on the low side of fair and often much lower than other shops.The work is guaranteed. When its fixed, it stays fixed.This is a small, independent shop, run by real mechanics who do good work.If you have had bad experiences at other places or are indeed of a good mechanic, I highly recommend them.There is one caveat though.No European cars.Domestic and Japanese only.

I was discouraged with the lack of communication on pricing. Was initially quoted for something and when I went to pick up my truck they were going to charge me an additional $150+ from what was quoted. After talking to them they lowered it $50.00. Still $100.00 more than what I was expecting to pay with no communication that the price was going to change. They charged me more for a mistake they made on their end.

These guys are very knowledgeable, they don’t scam and they can get big jobs done quickly. They also stand behind their work. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Many of my friends went there because there Parents (Fathers) did.Reputation and Honesty!Honesty is hard to find in an Automotive Shop.After 33 years having vehicles serviced in Redding you learn a few things.The best Automotive place I have found in this area!

I have been taking my vehicles to Kevin at Paul Stower for many, many years. No matter how busy he is, he does his darndest to squeeze me in within a day. He is scrupulous about charging only for what he actually does.... once we needed to replace an engine mount, and rather than buying the usual set of 4, he found a single bolt (or whatever he needed for just the single corner). When my Chrysler 300 had over 200,000 miles on the original transmission, he would check it out free of charge before long trips (I tried to pay him for the inspection without success). I like getting the oil changed there too.... super convenient combined with unexpected emergencies (starters, brakes, etc.) Its a little hole-in-the-wall shop downtown, but you will not be disappointed with the service, courtesy, or pricing. Highly recommend!

I had them do a pre purchase check on a used vehicle that I was looking at getting. They did a great job of showing me everything, and explaining it very well. I definitely recommend them.

LOVE this place! Went in here to get my car inspected and everyone there was so nice and informative. The prices here are very reasonable and i definitely suggest this place to people if you dont want to get ripped off. This is my new go to shop!

While I was not able to get service here, Paul was amazing with his customer service. He was already booked for the day and instead of just telling me no he gave me two numbers to call and then told me of they were not able to help me today to call him back and he would figure something out. Amazing!

My wifes car began having issues about a month ago. I was out of town and couldnt fix it for her. She had it taken here after reading some online reviews for a good nearby mechanics shop.This place didnt disappoint. They fixed her car and didnt diagnose it with issues it didnt have. They treated her with respect, and not incompetent as most mechanics shops have done. Good folk.

I am a female who knows nothing about auto engines & do not care to learn about them. I went to have my used truck looked at that was purchased from an auto auction. They advised me of a few things that should be changed & also a small repair that could wait.A few hours later I drove away with the repairs made, a detailed receipt & completely speechless as to the level of professionalism this place exhibited.When you are tired of being taken advantage of by the dealerships & other mechanics in this town, call & change to the BEST Redding has.

Kevin, Adam & Dan are some of the most honest mechanics I know. I stopped taking my brand new cars to the dealerships long ago when the dealership kept telling me I had to have these extra services performed. Come to find out, these services (I had a hybrid at the time) were strictly optional AND they were charging me 2-300 more then what Stowers would. I love that I can call up and they will always work with my time schedule and or drop by if something happens. Theyre honest, reliable and fair priced. You can leave knowing your problem is taken care of, and you wont magically have something else go wrong weeks later.

This is the best automotive repair place in Redding, no doubt. This is a shop where a lady who knows nothing about car repairs could take her car and rest assured only the needed repairs will be done and at a fair price. Kevin and Kelly, the owners are awesome, down to earth honest people. Their mechanics, Dan and Adam are the best and if your problem is an engine rebuild to a simple oil change, they can do it. If you have an electrical issue, they can find it and fix it. A recent timing belt, water pump replacement on my Toyota SUV was completed for hundreds less than the dealer wanted. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed!!
