Update: After contacting Sunglass Hut via their website, I received an email stating that I could exchange or return my sunglasses anytime within 30 days. Sure enough, that’s the official return policy. After advising the manager of this (through his employee, because I could never contact him directly), he agreed to exchange my defective sunglasses. Five stars for the employee who consistently tried to do the right thing. One star for the manager who had to be confronted with his chain’s return policy before he’d do it.The person at the counter was very helpful and friendly. Buying was a great experience. However, my very expensive sunglasses broke less than a week later, when one of the screws spontaneously fell out.The Sunglass Hut manager (note that this is a separate entity from Cabela’s; you’re not buying from them) insisted this was “100% a Ray Ban warranty issue.” Given that I bought nice sunglasses and had them less than a week, I decided I wanted to return them rather than send them in for a warranty repair. But that wasn’t an option. The manager said I couldn’t return them because he will only accept returns on items he can resell.Next time, I’ll be buying from a place that offers some modicum of customer service when things go wrong.
I prefer to shop locally. But there is no reason to shop at this place. They will not honor Sunglass Huts warranty. The manager said he doesn’t care what the policy is, or if anyone buys from anything from him.
