Our AC went outside the Badlands in very hot heat. We spoke with Will who set up a diagnostic but shared (in a straight forward manner) was not sure if they would have the parts needed if the compressor required replacement. When we arrived, Corey did the diagnostic work and miraculously they had the compressor needed. They did the work that day! And we were able to continue on to Montana in a cooled car. They were super nice and felt very well taken care of. Very much appreciated that they were able to assess and fix the car all in the same day. Very professional. Corey even provided a great hike recommendation in Custer state park: Sunday Gulch. Highly recommend Rushmore Honda for service!

Will, in the Service department, provided us with some hope — at least of diagnostic results — over the phone, even though our car-camping CRV was towed to Rushmore’s lot on a busy Friday afternoon (summer vacations, corvette convention, no rental cars to be found). We met with Will upon arrival. No sales pitch, no nonsense — lots of empathic, attentive listening, and then ‘let’s just see.’ We waited comfortably, then heard our options from Will and from his colleague Cory (both master technicians). We opted for the patch-job (new transmission would take a week to arrive). Cory assured us that he would finish the 90-minute job (5.30pm on a Friday, folks). Cue the music: we pulled out of the lot that evening with our same transmission, saving gobs of money and a whole lot of hassle. Hard-working, honest, personable staff — and (for this young female with lots of service-department-suspicion and zero car-speak), excellent communicators. While I’m hoping this was a one-and-done trip to Rushmore, I’d recommend the service department to anyone.

Bait and switch dealer. They use KBB Instant Cash Offer as a way to get you in with a promise of fair trade-in value before reverting back to wholesale price. Over book prices on their cars. Was told they don’t negotiate because it’s a seller’s market. Terrible management. Horrendous business practices. Leased and bought new Honda’s (Pilot & HR-V) from them in the past. Never again.

Honda couldnt figure out the noise but they could hear it. Codes dont come up on it. But they will monitor, if gets worse. I did an oil change and engine filter because I really trust Honda service. I bought the car as an investment. The vehicle runs like I did when I purchased the vehicle off the lot. Everything passed inspection! Safety is priority on the roads, thank you Honda!

Arrived in Rapid City from Plymouth MN for an overnight stay. Just after arriving my 2010 Odyssey battery not charging warning light came on. Made an 8 am appointment for the next day at Rushmore Honda to have it checked out. Turns out the alternator was bad and needed to be replaced. They had all of the necessary parts on hand and got the job done quickly so we could return home that day. All of the staff that we encountered were very helpful and I really appreciated the courtesy van rides to and from our hotel. Everything works perfectly and as expected. I would highly recommend Rushmore Honda.

Bottom line up front: made an appointment to replace the front brake pads and it took them two and half days to complete the maintenance. Then tell me that they are done and they close at two. I do not recommend you take your vehicle to get it serviced here.Full issue below if anyone cares:Wow, what can I say about the service I received at this place. I made an appointment to get the brake pads replaced and brought the car in on time the day of the appointment. Two hours later, I receive a call that they dont have the parts and will have to over night them. Okay, why was the appointment made and why did you take the car if you are not able to complete this simple maintenance. No problem, keep the car over night and get to it once the parts come in. Well the next day they messed up and did not order over night so the part didnt come in until the next day. We had the car there from Thursday to Saturday for a very easy issue. Then I get a call on Saturday at 1215 to let me know the car was finished. I let them know that as soon as my wife comes home, we will be on way to go get it. The customer service agent told me to be advised that they close at 2. Wow, so you had my car for two and a half days for break pad replacements and no decency to at least say that you will stay open till I get there or send a shuttle to come get me. Not sure if anyone else has had issues at this place but I assure you they have lost some loyal customers from taking our vehicles in for service and now from even buying a vehicle from this place as I just cant trust them.
We came into see Jason and talk about the Pilot because my husband fits in it. We had no idea or desire to buy, just look! I saw the CRV first & it fit me & my husband. Tried the Pilot & it didnt. We took the CRV for a test drive, I was hooked. Jason told us about the car, & put figures together. We talked it over and decided it was a YES. Bill was so nice to help with writing everything up for us, & getting the best interest rate. Everyone was so friendly and shaking our hand congratulating us on our new ride. My husband and I went one weekend to look. We were greeted by Melissa and Jamie, and told them our price range and that we were not buying right now, just trying to get an idea of what is in our price range. They were so kind and showed us some vehicles that were in our price range. They werent pushy in the least bit; they were so nice and explained the pros/cons of each car. They were both so nice and relaxed. Not once did we feel like they were trying to pull one over on us or just shove a car on us and be done. We went back the next week to buy and Melissa was busy with another customer, so we wound up dealing with the sales manager, Bill. He was what one imagines when they think of a used car salesman- pushy, fast talking, overly condescending. My husband and I were NOT happy having to deal with him. Had he been the one we met the first time we stopped by Rushmore Honda, we would have left and not come back. Luckily, Melissa was able to check on us here and there and that made us both feel better. Chad, the finance manager, is so nice, too! Overall, it was a good experience (minus the frustrating part with Bill) and Im very pleased with my car. I would recommend Rushmore Honda, Melissa, Jamie, and Chad to any of my friends.

I bought my son a 2011 Jeep and Jake Meredith was our salesman. We drove the car off the lot and noticed a problem with the window and the radio. I called him right away and he said bring it back. The window was fixed immediately but the radio was tricky. It was fine in the shop but acted up when we got home. I contacted him and he said they would make it right. I got a new radio. A+......a few months later the lease was up on my current vehicle and I hated the place I was leasing from. I contacted Jake and within a day we narrowed down what I liked and what I could afford. The next day I drove the cars and picked the one I liked. Im not into negotiating back and forth and he knew that. He went to work for me and got me the price I wanted. He really cares about his customers. If you have the chance, ask for Jake Meredith!

Okay. Better than most of the dealerships in Rapid, but you want the best. We bought a pilot for them. The price was good, but it was high pressure with the sales associate, manager, finance lady all standing around us when we were considering their offer. Really, can knock down the pressure tactics a few notches. We got a second Honda Pilot from Toyota of the Black Hills, and it was a zero pressure environment. Both nice places, but you have options to not get the full court press.
I moved to the Rapid City in recently.One of my vehicles is the Honda Civic that needed to be renewed its tires.Friends of mine introduced me that the Rushmore Honda Service is the best, and Ive been there yesterday.As my friend said, they were very nice with good work.I am glad that I found a good service center.
Took my wife’s Honda Element in to investigate a rough ride and a vibration. Two days and $2900 later we couldn’t even get home due to the “repairs” causing more noise and vibration. When we returned they didn’t have time to look at it. They had time to charge us but couldn’t find time to review their damage.
We were passing through Rapid City on our way home to Iowa when a message appeared in our 2013 Honda that the key devices battery was low. We found Rushmore Honda to look for a replacement, where we were greeted by an employee just after we had parked and were shown to the Service Dept. There two employees cheerfully and quickly replaced the battery and then stunned me by saying there would be no charge. I wish I knew the names of both employees, who each deserve commendation, but I only caught the name of the female, Sheila. Bravo to them and to Rushmore Honda.

He realized later that there were actually two cars on the lot that met that criteria and told us about the second car. The first car was actually a better fit for us. Absolutely terrible service from the finance department and store manager. I had an awful experience with my recent purchase because of the finance manager(Paul). Instead of resolving a problem with my application right away. He dragged the issue on for a month.They have no communication between there departments. I had to let the store manager(Terry) know myself about the situation. When I tried to explain what was going on, the store manager decided to argue with me. He represented the company very poorly and later called me back to apologize. Forty days after I first submitted my application(December 18th). They started to run unauthorized credit applications out of their thirty day window. This cause damage to my credit score. I never gave them permission to run the new credit applications and I tried to bring this up to the manager and they ignored my questions. Purchasing a new vehicle should be a great experience, but unfortunately the management at Denny Menholt Rushmore Honda made my experience atrocious. The only positive about this company are the salespeople.

My wife and I were in Rapid City last weekend. We had a few vehicles at other dealerships we found online that we checked out first and one of our last stops was Rushmore Honda. The temperature was well below zero that day so I went out and checked a couple vehicles out when Jason Bonnette came over and asked if we needed help finding anything. I told him what we were looking for and he took us over to an 2018 Nissan Pathfinder. My wife got out of the pickup and looked it over and Jason pulled it over to the building and after it warmed up we took it for a test drive. We were impressed with the vehicle and Jason went and got us a price. Since a Pathfinder wasnt on our short list of vehicles to look at I asked him for a day to do some research on it, checked the price out online and found it to be a great deal. I texted him on Sunday and told him we will be back Monday morning to get everything finalized. It was a painless transaction, we werent asked once what we were looking our payment to be, Jason was straightforward and gave us a good deal. Once we got there on Monday everything was all said and done in less than an hour.A bit of advice to the younger salesman at Rushmore Honda. While you were all in the office on your phones staying warm, Jason had his Bomber hat on in sub-zero temperatures helping two different customers and was selling cars.

I have only been here for a few service recalls and a few parts. But what I can say is that every visit has been friendly and fun. I always have a salesman walk out to meet me but is civil and asks about my car (a Honda) but never tries to sell me. Due to my visits with service, parts and sales I might be purchasing my next vehicle from them.

I owed almost $3,000 more on my old car than it was worth and Jon and the team at Rushmore Honda were able to work some magic to not only give me more for my trade-in but able to move some of the loan from my previous car over to my next car. Service center is great, always took care of my car with all needs I had. Price was competitive. The not so good, I wanted to buy a new car but the sales manager seemed to try and super low ball me on everything (told me that once cars hit 30,000 miles there is no value left in them, mine was at 28k) and over price what I was buying. Maybe he figured because I was young I was dumb, but this would have been my third new car and I know I could have done better (and I did at other place) but again the service center is great.

I hit a curb during a downpour and ripped one of my tires. The service staff including Zac, Josh and Jason went way out of there way to find me a matching replacement tire. Even though my tire was nearly new, it had been discontinued from the manufacturer. They found 1 matching tire on the east coast and had it shipped in and installed. They also reset my TPMS warning light. They took this good of care for a person who was not even driving a Honda or even a car that had been purchased at their business!!
Beware Denny Menholt does not negotiate a vehicles advertised price! Whatever the advertised price is final! If you expect to be able to negotiate for a better price, go somewhere else!
Smooth transaction while buying a new Honda pilot. Mel was our sales person who showed us the top of line Odyssey and pilot. Finance and sales Manger were also helpful. Asked questions several times and answerd the queries every time. Did best pricing and offered the best Honda Pilot.

Very rarely I write review on online, but when I do, I really mean it. I know nothing about cars besides how to drive them and how to change the windshield liquid. Although the price there is high for a poor student like me to afford, but I really appreciate his help, patience, friendly altitude and understanding. And also, as far as I can tell, people there really do know how to deal with my little Honda. I trust them with my Betty (my cars name).

First off my truck buying experience was fine the sales woman was pleasant to deal with. Now with that out of the way Beware of buying a used truck from this business unless youre a mechanic or have income to just throw away. I bought my truck and in less then 2000 miles and one month it had engine failure when I took it back I was informed that the sale was AS IS and since I was not goated into there extremely over priced low mileage service plan it was not there problem.
They were very attentive and honest.
I visited here last summer to help a friend find a car. The staff were unhelpful, rude and seemed uninterested in our business. We had cash in hand to buy a car and the staff didnt seem at all interested in getting us in a car. When we asked questions, they ignored them or gave us a brochure answer. One staff member walked away with no prompt halfway through a conversation. It was a phenomenally bad experience. I will never return and will never recommend it to anyone. Just awful.

I had a great experience at Rushmore Honda. My car had a recall for the airbag inflators. Honda sent me a notification. Upon receiving it I called them to verify the notice. Honda gave my the phone number to Rushmore Honda. I gave them a call. They were able to get me an appointment right away. I took the car over and while they worked on the airbag inflators I relaxed in the waiting area. It was very comfortable. The coffee was delicious. There was a television to watch and a lot of magazines to read while there. They got me back on the road it a couple of hours. It was a pleasure doing business there. Fast and friendly service with a comfortable atmosphere. Definitely would do business with them again in the future 😊
Brought in my vehicle for an emergency brake to be fixed. It worked only one time after they fixed it before it no longer worked again. Talked to the manager who said they would fix it again and give me a 25% discount. Very nice of them to not stand by their work.I would never take anything to them to have fixed again. Worst service shop I have ever been to in Rapid City, by far.

I havent even had my car for 4 months yet, and Ive had it serviced about 10 times already. They cant seem to figure out how to properly fix the problem, so they try something new each time. Its a 2016, so it shouldnt have all these problems, considering it had a 180-point inspection, and was certified pre-owned when I purchased it. Aside from the gas mileage, I am completely dissatisfied with this 2016 Honda Accord Sport. I got rid of a 2012 Ram 1500, thinking I was upgrading and making a more financially responsible decision.
