Very great full for the he helpful folks working here. Everyone I encountered was more than friendly, knowledgeable, and all round helpful. I was surprised to find that the shelves seemed empty. Some things like small tubes of almond colored call werent available. Prices are fair and seemed on par with other stores selling comparable items. Over all my shopping experience was good.
I had several things I needed help locating and I asked one lady and she got a look on her face like I just insulted her, she did not smile and was not friendly. I thanked her and said she was very helpful.When I got to my last location, a very nice gentleman asked me if I found everything and offered to help me. He said he has been there for 25 years and that is what associates are supposed to do. I would have given a 5 star if I had come across this gentleman first. I so appreciate him and will seek him out on my next visit. He deserves a 5.
Customer service was good. The problem was that my grandmother and I were told by an employee that they had a certain appliance available and when we came to look at in hopes of purchasing said appliance they didnt have anything close to what we were told.
Very busy. The staff was super courteous which is always a plus with me I could tell a couple people were definitely rookies but that is going to be the norm everywhere for sometime.the price was good and nice people gave it a. 4 star visit.

I like the store, but they are NEVER accurate on whats in stock. Just because you buy it, doesnt mean its actually there. Weve had several instances where we go to pick up our purchase and its either not there or not the amount we need.
The sales people inside I give a 5 star. The older heavy set white hair yard person on the forklift. He was not only rude, lazy and coming across like your bothering him. His only statement was its over there, load it yourself. Then he drove off.

Save big money only complaint is the company has forgot that being an indoor lumber yard is what got them big...now they stock 1aisle of trim style boards and one bunk of 2x4x8 go to the yard and waste another hour dealing with lazy yard guys. Oh fun but better than local yard prices thats the hook here
Getting good help at the Rapid City store is very hard to get. Not to say that you can’t get it, it’s just not likely to happen. There’s times where I need somebody to answer the phone. For instance, today I called 17 times letting the phone ring until their automated phone system hung up on me. How does a store that facilitates so many people and businesses have such hey horrible phone system.
Today we went to Menards in Rapid City. We searched the entire store for a stand up cart but could not find any. We asked, twice, for a stand up cart as we were getting fifteen sheets of 3/4 in. compressed plywood. Clearly we were inconveniencing the three employees as one told us, theyre probably out in the parking lot, will have to see if we can get some in and went back to conversing with the other two employees. After waiting for over twenty minutes, we finally used a flat cart. After finally maneuvering this incredibly heavy load, we paid and although there were several men...employees...standing watching us, none offered to help. So we made our way to the parking lot, which is rougher than a cow pasture. Thirty feet from our truck the cart hit a deep groove and the plywood went flying forward, scraping down Morgans leg, all the weight landing on her foot and that motion caused the cart to go flying back into Thomas knees, literally throwing him fifteen feet backwards, cart landing on him. Although there were store employees who saw this happen none came over to help, however, two older men and a younger one were kind enough to. Dont plan on going back there, although the clerk who checked us out was very pleasant.

I have always had a most pleasant shopping experience at MenArds . Recently, I needed 13 sheets of ply wood,10 bags of concrete, insulation & lag bolts.When I asked for help, all I got was a finger pointing me to where all the products were! Not that it was easy to find! Then trying to find building #1 to hunt down insulation! Nobody knew where building #1 was !Even once I drove thru security they said go around to the right! After three times asking where building # 1 was some one finally said it’s over there to the left!I am a senior citizen, loading 10 bags of concrete & 13 pieces of plywood was a chore but thank god for my health I did it!I spoke to a manager and all he could say was I’m sorry! No help whatsoever!!I went back home and cut up my Menards card!I’m done with them!!! Customer service used to be so nice there!So sad!!!

Ive personally saved money at Menards. Cant really say it was big money, but its good enough to keep going. Im just glad they dont play their damn jingle ad nauseum on the overhead speakers all the time like they used to. Nonetheless, I bring headphones just in case.
Upon arriving to the store no greeting. Just passive aggressive cashiers screaming You need a mask! I responded with i cannot due to my medical condition as I already have a restricted airway and continued to walk as the customer service rep said I dont care and then began ignoring anything else. Implying its not her job to be mask police. So I continued into the store immediately passing 6 people without masks and over 20 customers and at least half the on duty staff not masking correctly (Yes I counted)My husband and I were prepared to spend around 1000$ worth of our hard earned money in the store today. But that all ended when a male employee approached my husband aggressively and told him that next time masks were store policy and theres not exemptions for medical conditions (even though we live in a mask mandate free state). Even though this employee is not a medical provider. When he was informed that I had an airway disease he started raising his voice and tried to intimidate myself and my husband.This employee cause me to have a medical crisis and instead of continuing to argue with him. We left our cart and left the store. This instance alone tainted our view of Menards forever and we will never come back to this store. Especially after being singled out while half the store wasnt adhering either. Guess this store follows the masking required of all left leaning states but not the guidance on health exemptions from the actual CDC.Best part about living in a free state is Im free to take my money elsewhere. I guess Fleet Farm and Lowes will get our 1000$ tomorrow instead and I wont be force to partake in such a blatant disrespect for human life like this store did to our family.

Boycott these smug tyrants!Upon walking through the door, I was greeted with YOU GOT A MASK? by a man who is clearly not a physician nor carries liability or malpractice insurance for inflicting bad medical advice. To cut the story of a wasted evening short, the VERY aggressive GM Mark, who has a massive Napoleonic complex brought my 6yo daughter to tears yelling at me. I never raised my voice, or cursed, or anything vulgar. He called the police on me, threatening to chase me down to get my license plate number if I left, further terrorizing my daughter. We waited patiently for the police, during which time the middle manager helped a man with no mask. The police arrived and professionally said, as a private business Menards can discriminate against anyone they want. If Mark doesnt like your wheelchair, the color of your skin, that youre wearing hate symbols like a cross or a gun or an American flag on your shirt, Mark is allowed to give you the boot. I dont believe this interpretation of the law is correct, but Im not going to argue with the two armed men called in to remove me from what should have been a peaceful and productive shopping experience. Mark bragged that he called the police at least once a week on patrons who arent wearing a mask and wont bow to him. Mark also GROSSLY violated social distancing while trying his best to physically intimidate me, all while repeatedly fidgeting with his mask that was slipping off his nose while handling items customers will touch. Not that I think thats dangerous, but the hypocrisy was thick! SAY NO TO TYRANTS!
I bought a beautiful quartz countertop. One option I highly recommend is the template. Anyway, I went in to turn it in with one change. It only took five minutes for the change. Very professional and efficient.
Prices okay. Pretty good atmosphere. Super annoying guy in the paint department wouldnt leave us alone when we were looking through colors though. We even said we preferred to look alone and he came back again and again trying to upsell us and was noticably irritated when we didnt pick the color he chose and stayed that way for the rest of the time. Then gave us two of the expensive paint when we only asked for one of that kind, which we didnt notice till we got to the registers up front. I dont know if they get commission in that department or what, but man, that was a little much. Weve been there off and on for the last couple weeks and have gotten good service too, so three stars is fair.
Went to Menards to see patio furniture and cushions. They have a great selection of both the furniture and the colors and patterns of the cushions. I wish I had been to Menards prior to purchasing my patio set this year.

I guess its OK if customer service means nothing to you. First time I went in, no hello, no greeting, only yelled YOU GOT A MASK??!! from across the entire front area. Classy. I give it another try 2 weeks later - I go to check out, and the cashier again doesnt greet or speak to me except to mumble the purchase total while looking the other direction. I then discover youre REQUIRED to bag ALL of your own items EVERY time, regardless of how many cashiers are working. No thanks. Ill go elsewhere and enjoy some actual customer service.

We came in to pick up 3 special orders.First order came on pallet with wrapping to complete it . We did not unwrap it.Second order came out. Your staff cut this open took some out and the rest of pallet was picked up by someone else.Third came out. We were in the loading area for over 3 hours. We just started putting our cabinets together and they will not work . Shelf A &B are 131/2 by 23C is 13 by 221/2We are not happy with this.We have to buy something to make the top work.I think that our special orders should have been together as ordered.They should have never been mixed with someone elses order.Your paper work states that once you leave the yard you have no recourse .

Fabulous.A consumer Disneyland. Very impressive selection of a wide variety of home and personal items, ranging from very well-priced groceries to cat food and clothing to power tools and construction materials.Where else can one pick up everything he needs to do that important home repair and go home with a gallon of milk and a frozen take and bake pizza to boot?A very nice place to shop. A clean, well lit store, with knowledgeable, friendly and efficient sales people, reasonable prices and a wide selection of good quality merchandise.Be afraid, Wal-Mart, be very afraid!

Went there to look at cabinets and pricing for our new kitchen and a gentleman named Ian helped us with picking out and making us feel comfortable with the prices! He even had software there to see what it will look like in our kitchen! Well done and recommend them over lowes anyday with the bad experience we had at lowes!
Just wanted to experience Menards as I am from California and we do not have them in our state. It was much more than I expected. I didnt purchase anything or need services so I am not sure about their customer service.
Menards has really stepped up their customer service and overall in-store experience! Two years ago I would have recommended you go to Lowes for youre home improvement needs, but in the last 6 months Lowes cant compete with the lumber quality and customer satisfaction, in my opinion. Only bit gripe, I really like DeWalt and Menards doesnt sell it. Shop Menards for all your lumber and remodel material needs!
To order online to pick up in store, they charge a fee to have an employee get the item. The 11% rebate is only good to purchase more items in the store so that is not really a rebate. If I have a question about an item, I have to search the store for help.

What a rude and disrespectful place this has become since covid. The security guard was RUDE for no reason. We apologized for the error we made and it was not accepted in the least.I was already tired of the mask policy here but the rude employees, especially the security guard, is the icing on the cake. Covid isnt an excuse to be rude, cold, disrespectful and careless about customers but it seems menards thinks it is.
Overall, a positive experience for a big, box store for building materials. I very much appreciate the efforts taken to prevent exposure to the COVID virus by the requiring of masks.My one recommendation would be to put the hardware section next to the decking/construction materials to simplify the purchase process and reduce the in-store time a person has, thus reducing potential exposure to the virus.
The staff on the floor were not helpful with regards to the location of desired items. We were sent all over the store from one end to the other as we sought items on our list. We spent over a thousand dollars and still were not able to locate everything we needed.

This store does not keep a SAFE parking lot. The entire outside is covered in a sheet of ice. The semi trucks that need to get in and out are having difficulty on the ice which creates a hazardous situation for the drivers. Any accidents that happen in this parking lot should be considered the fault of the store for their neglect in keeping their property safe.
I ordered curb side pick up to avoid going into the store. I was advised to pull up to the orange door on the back. I waited 42 minutes for someone to acknowledge me and called twice with no answer before I hollered out the window to get an employees attention. If you dont want to offer curb side pick up, dont advertise it.
Lack of employee help, everytime I tried to grab someones attention, it was almost like they ran in the other direction. The cashiers are always awesome tho and I love their prices

Menards has what I need at a good price. Sometimes quality could be better but I know what Im getting so Im not disappointed. Good selection and employees know what theyre talking about most of the time.
We paid for $1000.00 dollars of wood and waited nearly an hour and a half to get loaded as they couldnt find the wood. As we were waiting other customers were upset, couldnt find what they bought and if you were lucky enough to find it you had to load it yourself. Bathrooms were also in bad shape.

Prices are higher than other big box stores. The wood selection if you could call it that was next to nothing. When I finally found someone to “help” claimed that his best lumber was right there. Was chipped, bent and cracked and said that I couldn’t find any better in town. Rude staff no one wants to help.
We always enjoy Menards. Make sure and check the food/snack section toward the back in the middle. Sometimes the prices are crazy good deals. Even milk and eggs. Lots of workers ready to help.

Because it is local I would shop here over other places like Lowes.BUT NO MORE!!!When a store thinks to mandate things that the government of our state has not done they have crossed a line in my book.Our state government DOES NOT have any requirement for masks.Our state government DOES NOT have any requirement for social distancing.A store. Local or not, has no right to inflict such health damaging boundaries upon its customers.I need to go to a hardware store for purchases today. I will be going to Lowes and encourage all who read this to boycott Menards till they remove their stupidly ridiculous requirement of mask wearing.It is one thing to suggest people wear masks even though it has been proven that doing such is 100% useless in fighting Coved. It is quite another to mandate it.

Placed a special order. Paid in full. Then waited, and waited, and waited. Online order tracker said there was no such order. Well I had the order sheet in my hand and the receipt on my desk in front of me. So I called the store and was told by the arrogant, rude front end manager that my order had been sitting in Rapid City for some time. When asked why I had not be informed by any method that my order was in he could only say that typically they emailed the customer. I pressed him for WHY it had not happened. He fell back on the COVID excuse. The entire conversation this manager was yapping away at other people in the background and never giving me, the customer, his attention.Poor service, no offer of any customer courtesy, and no apology. And Menards corporate is fostering that kind of rude, arrogant treatment of the customer as they refuse to answer any customer inquiries either!Menards needs customers more than customers need them!Fleet Farm and Lowes, here I come.

Well, I was there about 15 minutes before the store closed, to return something. I had a receipt for purchases totalling almost $300 00. The item I was returning was about $23.00, and because I had used a store credit when I spent all that money, all they would do is offer another store credit. Also, I dont know how they get away calling this thing they do a REBATE? Anywhere else I get a rebate its actually in the form of a check....not a store credit!
I understand that on occasion there is an employee who has an off day and isnt at their best and I wouldnt demonize a business for that stand alone reason. But over the past month and 6 visits my husband and I have encountered the most awful group of employees who are unhappy, rude, have used expletives towards us, and raised voices while we are looking for directions. It was so awful today that I put my cart full of items back and left in shock. We ordered blinds in person to be delivered to the store, waited additional days for them to be cut but when we were supposed to pick them up they were not cut, weve witnessed two employees literally and loudly arguing with expletives in the isle as other customers walked by. The specific list of terrible occurrences over the last month is too lengthy to speak about here. Is an unhappy staff a result of poor management, is it part of a larger corporate attitude that clearly doesnt work or is this just discrimination against a gay couple in a small town. Whatever the reason, we personally will choose Lowes going forward and the large class A apartment complex I work for will no longer do business with Menards. We are sad and disappointed that the culture at Menards has gone away from doing whats right for the customer and now focuses on listening to respond, not listening to understand.

Worst place to find help. i purchased 3 rolls of insulation which i had to drive around out back to get however no one was there to help. i had no way of opening the bundled pack. (need a knife or scissors?) im elderly and couldnt do it. So i went back in and got my money back for my purchase and drove to Lowes where they helped me.
This is one of those typical hardware type stores that is hard to go in and pick up an item and leave without looking and looking and looking and looking and looking and looking and looking
Placed an order online while I was working. The ad did not say it wasn’t in the store and then come to find out it has to be ordered And it’s two weeks out. I can’t wait that long. I try to cancel my order and it has to be done by email. After five emails, it still has not had a response or a refund and went and purchased the item at the local store. Then come to Find out kids under 16 aren’t allowed in the store so what does a single father with kids go to get his product with a competitor and still no refund or response back from the email.
Went in looking for a specific item on sale. There was a sales lady, Savannah who was stocking in the back of the store. We asked her and she looked on her phone to find it. After several minutes, we said we would just keep looking...While up front, and still no luck, she walked up to us with the item!! What a great SURPRISE to see a person who really cares about helping customers!! Thank you Savannah!!!
Not my favorite store to buy & cut lumber. There were no goggles or tape measure so I could cut the boards. Walked clear to the back of the warehouse to do this. Never again.

We went to Menards to get everything to build our garden box and trellis, and get our fruits and veggies going. I love Menards, and come on, you have to love the 11% rebate on everything! Just know, you have to send in your rebate forms to get the checks, and they take a while, so be patient. Especially these days.
