I had my husband go into the store to look for a very specific item for our daughter, a metallic leotard. The sales clerk was very rude and was not helpful at all. She questioned him about why he was looking for the item and acted like it wasn’t a reasonable ask. It’s possible that race was a factor because he was also not properly greeted. Thankfully, they did not have the item as they obviously did not deserve our business.

My daughter and I had such a great experience there yesterday. You can definitely see that they care about their dancers. The store has everything you need! I will definitely be back.

Both my daughters have been dancing since they were toddlers and we have bought shoes and dance supplies from plenty of dance shops. Dance Etc. is by far the very best we have ever shopped--both with inventory available as well as customer service. Pointe shoe fitting here is reason enough not to shop anywhere else! What a breath of fresh air! We have never had such a comprehensive fitting from beginning to end with such a knowledgeable person doing the fitting for my girls! They have never had their shoes feel so good while dancing and fit their feet so well. It has made such a difference in their MANY hours of pointe classes a week and the way they are able to articulate their feet now that they have the perfectly fitted shoes. If there was a rating more than 5 stars, Dance Etc. would have that from me!

We moved to Raeford NC from Raleigh and I still drive to have Danea fit my daughter for her pointe shoes. She is amazing to work with, I can’t say enough great things about her. My daughters first fitting, they probably tried on probably 20 pair of shoes before Danea found the right ones. That tells you how much she cares and wants to make sure you have the right pointe shoe for your foot. If you go anywhere else for a fitting, you will be sorry!

This shop, it’s owner, and her employees are super friendly. They each are very helpful and informative. They take time to go above and beyond to answer questions of the dancer and extended guests. It’s a Beautiful and welcoming atmosphere. This place is inspiring for dancers of all ages. Frances specifically requests to drive the extra distance to this shop bc of the care and attention she receives each and every time we have been here. A real Gem.

Our fitting for pointe shoes was our first experience with Dance Etc. and they did not disappoint. Very professional and thorough with complete communication with the dancer being properly fitted. This was not an average shoe fitting and rightly so.

I cannot say enough good things about Dance Etc. We first came to them last year for my daughter to be fitted for her first pair of pointe shoes. They made it such a wonderful and memorable experience for her. We just recently re-visited for a re-Fitting for her next pair of shoes, and the level of time and attention paid to make sure the shoe is the perfect fit is amazing. We live about 2 hours away and will continue to visit this store for fittings. Simply amazing!

Danea has incredible attention to detail and comprehensive knowledge of the characteristics of a dancer’s feet. She is also very communicative about what pointe shoes work best for my daughter. I know nothing about ballet but it didn’t matter. They were wonderful at helping make sure my daughter got everything she needed. We drove in from out of town to get fitted for her first pair of pointe shoes. We will definitely return when she grows out of this first pair.

Danea is the absolute Pointe shoe whisperer. I will never forget my daughters first fitting with her. I had never seen anything like it. Like watching a masterclass. Danea pays attention to the tiniest detail of fit with each foot, ensuring that the child is fitted properly at each stage of growth and development. There is no place else wed entrust for our pointe shoes!

My daughter has had multiple pointe shoe fittings at Dance Etc, and we go back because they work with my daughter so patiently to get the best shoe for her feet. Kids sometimes have a difficult time articulating what they feel in their feet, but Danea asks good questions and can tell a lot of whats going on just by looking at wear patterns and observing a few positions at the barre. Danea is super-knowledgeable (had a long career as a professional - but doesnt ever mention it) about dancers feet and about all the different factors related to a well-fitted pointe shoe. She is very positive/pleasant throughout the process and my daughter likes her. She spent a lot of time with us and we are grateful for her expertise!

My daughter got her first pair LaDucas & fitted fir pointe shoes (her old ones were well loved). The ladies were knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. They wore masks, had hand sanitizer and wipes stations set up, and are set up ready for business again. We love everything about our experiences there and highly recommend!

My daughter and I LOVE Dance Etc. As a single Dad, and never dancer, Ive no idea what Im doing with dance wear. The staff are amazing at guiding me through the experience. And it is an experience. The shop offers boutique quality with local flavor and is staffed by knowledgeable professionals.Ive mistakenly brought items to the counter that were in a bargain bin. I was never treated rudely. Ive shown up for my appointments at the right time and Ive never been politely asked to reschedule.Im glad theyve opened up shop near Raleigh, Garner and Wake Forest. The owner has experience and a passion for the physical well being for young dancers that is apparent with every interaction.Top Marks! 5 stars!

They truly, truly care about their customers!They have been a lifesaver to me, as we navigated the best modifications (steel shanks, extra tacks, and arch supports) for my pointe shoes. I went to the store today to buy my daughter’s ballet outfit. From the moment I walked in this plastic face looking lady had an attitude towards me. I walked in she didn’t even greet me I would ask questions and she would give me short answers without making eye contact and with an unpleasant attitude. Made the experience very uncomfortable for my six years old daughter and me. I brought this to her attention saying that “it wouldn’t hurt to be nicer to customers that I didn’t know if she was the owner or employee but either way she had an awful attitude” at least towards me since I noticed with a white customer who was ahead me she was nothing but all smiles... as much as could smile given that plastic apparance she has on her face. I am not going to bring up the race thing into detail because nowadays everybody is so sensitive about that subject. But when things like this happen it’s hard not to. This woman was a bitter, rude and unprofessional. People need to realize that because of customers like us they are still in business. If they don’t like interacting w others...... then they might as well find other job options. Have some RESPECT!!!

Great selection of dance shoes and clothes. Prices are expensive for point shoes, but its one of the only places around. Staff is professional, knows what theyre doing and are very helpful.

I bought two pairs of ballet shoes and a pair of tap shoes from this store in the past. While waiting for my girls to try on shoes, my youngest had to use the restroom. On that particular day they allowed my daughter to use the restroom. I went into Dance Ect today to buy some tights, cover ups, and a few other pieces needed for a dance recital and once again my daughter had to use the restroom (Note: We live about 45mins away from this store). The red head helping us said, Unfortunately we do not have a restroom. Meanwhile, my daughter was pointing to the back of the store and telling me where the restroom was because she remembered going there before. While I was in the store I also asked if they had our school on file to look up the correct color needed for tights. She told me no. Which I find odd considering our school is passing out stickers and recommending business for this location. I find the staff to be standoffish and snooty. Not to mention everything is overpriced.

Each time my children have been fitted for new shoes, the staff has taken their time with them. The staff is knowledgeable and gives me confidence that were getting the best fit. At times, I go out of my way to get to Dance Etc. for what we need.

I purchased dance items from this store and found a dance bag that was in the clearance containers. The sign above the containers clearly stated All clearance items are marked 60- 90% off The price of the bag did not reflect that discount, but it was on clearance as it had a red marked price on the tag (but percentage taken off was well below 60%). When I questioned the cashier about the error, she said,only select items are 60-90% off. I presented sign to her that stated All items . . .She rudely said,Ill take that and Ill take that She was referring to the sign and the bag. She didnt honor the sign nor did she apologize for the error. She simply took both items from me in a very curt and immature manner. I am aware that business present these false advertising signs to attract your attention to the clearance area without actually giving thatdiscount but most people do not calculate whats advertised vs what they place on the tag. I would love to go back to try find something that actually reflects 90%, but I know I wont because its a commom advertising gimic. Businesses, however will honor what their sign says when customers bring the error to their attention. I do not under why she didnt simply apologize and admit a CLEAR error or should I say intentional false advertising. I see that the last rebuttal the manager wrote stated that the computer made a mistake on the sale item. Id like to see what excuse she has this time.

This is such a great place to get a good shoe fitting and browse the extensive racks of quality leotards! I purchased a pair of defective pointe shoes here by capezio and was given full store credit and it wasnt even their fault the pointe shoes had a defect in the first place. I always look forward to coming and I cant wait to go again soon!

Never have I met anyone as detailed, knowledgable, articulate and experienced in their craft as Ms. Danea.Raleigh has a an unclaimed local treasure! 10/10

The fall of 2015 was the beginning of my childs 2nd year on pointe. My child loves ballet and has been taking lessons since she was 3 years old. She was having some trouble and a classmate suggested we come to Dance Etc. I was skeptical to drive 2 hours for my daughter to get a pointe shoe fitting. I am beyond thrilled that we took the trip! My child was struggling in the second semester on Pointe. I had no idea that her Pointe shoes were dead and not the proper shoe for her. Having not been a ballet dancer I was ignorant to all the particulars. The treatment and kindness that Danea showed my child was priceless. The care that was taken to fit her was extremely professional. Instantly, my child could do all the things she struggled to perform in the spring recital. Not only did Danea help my child get amazing pointe shoes, but also gave her renewed self confidence and sheer joy. I will continue to bring my child to Dance Etc as long as she is dancing on Pointe.
