Tandy offered a Halloween Leather Mask workshop to make a Butterfly or Owl mask for $25. I was the instructor and helped people complete their masks. Each was unique.

This is hands down the best place to buy your Leathercraft supplies. They have the most comprehensive store around, and the employees are super friendly and helpful.

This store came recommended to me from a local cosplayer. I went in looking for several items for a few of my costumes. I visited this location twice. The first visit went okay but the staff was not knowledgeable about leather working in general so this was frustrating. I tried to purchase a few items that rang in the register much higher than the tag price. I left disappointed. My second visit this happened again as well. One item was marked $3.99 but rang up for $9.99. The other item was marked $14.99 but rang up for $19.99. When I questioned the associate about this and showed him both the price tag and the shelf tag, he shrugged and said there was nothing he could do about it.. that the staff cant override prices. I strongly urge the manager to please address this situation. I would love to be a frequent patron of this business because they have amazing items but I refuse to tolerate such poor customer service. Its a shame really. I will not be returning.

I have been looking forward to getting a project started. I have never been to this Tandy Store and was excited to go and ask some questions about my project hoping for some expert advice. I had planned to buy all my supplies there. I was brushed off and treated like I was taking up their time. I watched as they showed other people what to look for and talked to them about their projects but felt I was totally being ignored and or bothering them. They answered basic questions but looked impatient and said they needed to help someone else. One clerk told me he had forgotten about me. I think he lost interest in me when I did not accept his recommendation of someone to do it for me. I think I will just purchase my supplies online or at a different store. So sad. I used to go to the Tandy in PA by Pittsburgh and have such a great experience. Maybe they are understaffed. But I wont be back.

Ive never done leather working before, but I wanted to make a leather belt. My Craft-Mentor suggested I go to Tandy. I visited this store yesterday, and the person who helped me was amazing. She listened to what I wanted to do, and then walked me around the store and helped me find everything I needed. She presented options to me and never tried to sell me something I didnt need. I am so excited to start my project and I highly recommend this store. Amazing customer service.

Tandy Leather Factory in Raleigh is worthless!!!! Walked in the door just a little while ago and was not greeted whatsoever. Walking around and was never asked if I needed any kind of help while the two employees were standing in the back. Found the items I needed and stood by the register for several minutes waiting to be checked out. Still no acknowledgment while one employee was on the computer and the other was texting. I left my items laying on the counter and walked out. I can and will buy elsewhere!!!

Im not sure what happened in the past with this location, I started coming here around May of this year (2015) and have received nothing but stellar customer service every single time I went. Im new to leather work and have a very specific project in mind but also want to learn other parts of the craft so that I can make use of the leather that is left over. Each time I go, I drove over an hour to get there and the employees all, depending on who is tied up at the time, step in to help, answer questions and direct me to the tools I need or want. They also look out for my pocketbook instead of theirs. Being a newbie, there had been so many instances when they could have sold me more than what I needed, higher prices items, etc. But, each time they tell me that since Im a hobbyist, I would do better to spend my money on the less expensive model as it will give me the results Im looking for, just with a little more time and effort. And, as a hobbyist, I dont have to worry about knocking things out rapidly. Or, in an instance where I was looking for leather the first time, they could have sold me the most expensive item that I was eyeing. Instead, they explained that was overkill for my project and would be cost prohibitive in the long run and then showed me pieces that were perfect, that I had missed and were a lot less expensive. A lot less. I always have tons of questions, they always have tons of patience and answers. They also direct me to the best sales and tell me if an item Im looking at has an equivalent on the clearance shelf.As you can see, Ive had excellent customer service. It also seems like I always manage to close the place down and they dont seem to mind that, either. I can easily say I highly recommend this location.

If you work with leather or want to learn, they have it all! Great classes, good sales and all those Tandy kits or leather for your own projects. Veg tanned and chrome tanned leather. If I had one complaint, its the size of their space...they need more room!

I was looking for certain things and they knew exactly what I needed. they help me assess different problems that I was trying to achieve they helped me overcome the difficulties and put me onto the right products very happy overall five plus thank you so much

The staff was friendly and polite, letting us know about the sales and didnt turn their nose up when I asked about clearance prices. The store is well laid out, everything is organized and nicely displayed. I will be returning.

Always helpful, friendly and patient with this amateur. Not only do they NOT try to upsell me a bunch of stuff but have actually suggested for me NOT to buy stuff i had put on the counter to buy but I really didnt need yet!! Oh and they are always interested in seeing my completed works, complementing my steady improvement in skill and suggesting ways to do things to get even better results or projects to improve my skills even more.

Went there to get dye to dye a designer leather bag. It was discolored in some areas by acetone. The manager of the shop recommended I consider taking it to a professional instead of trying to do it myself. He recommended Davids Leather and Vinyl. The owner, David Bryan was extremely rude and unprofessional. I have never been treated so poorly in my life! So, if you go to Tandy Leather and the manager or anyone else recommend Davids Leather and Vinyl......run in the opposite direction!!!

I give this place 2 stars for customer service. They had a lot of nice material, and were well stocked, but Im automatically turned off if I walk into a store and am completely ignored, even though Im the ONLY customer there. There was a clerk at the front desk right as I came in the door, and he didnt even act like someone walked in. No Hello! or Welcome to Tandys or Can I help you find anything today?. It wasnt until I reached the back of the store that one of the other clerks offhandedly said Oh, hi.... They were civil when I asked them questions, but at one point the back clerk just walked away while I was in the middle of asking her a question because she had something to tell the front clerk. Ive worked retail before, and this certainly isnt how its done. Ill give them the benefit of the doubt and say maybe they were all having a really bad day or something. Still...

This is where the local leather guild meets every month. It was recommended to me by a friend, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality there. The staff is friendly.

Aubrin is the BOMB!Ive been picking up supplies there for years, and have always gotten great customer service. Aubrin is friendly and knowledgable, and has gone out of his way to help me out. There is another leather supply store nearer to my house in Ramseur Nc But the customer service there is terrible. Id much rather drive an hour to see the people at tandy

It was ok. They have the basic leather stuff, but it is really small, and the prices are stupid high.

I have a hard time believing these first two reviews, i think the employees must have written them. I have never experienced such poor service as the times I have vistied this store. Safe to say there are other leather suppliers out there that actually deserve the business before these guys. The employees of this company not only are not helpful, they actually act like it is putting them out to help you. Customers waiting to be checked out while the employees talk about sports and any other nature of un-work related subjects. They also do not really know what they are talking about when it comes to the products they sell. They know where they are on the shelf, but thats about it. I have shopped at many of this companys stores around the country, and this is by far the worst i have experienced. Leather is tied up, making it hard to look at, the large guy with glasses is so negative and complains about having to put it all back - COME ON!! in a score out of 1-10, they would be lucky to get a 2

Same as Marcus. I went in as I was just starting to get into leatherworking. The guy working was not helpful at all and seemed annoyed I was there. As a newbie I expected some more attention and help with getting started. So I bought some useless scraps and left.
