An absolutely amazing experience for me and my family! Even with a line out the door we were taken care of almost instantly. Took about 10 minutes for us to receive everything we ordered including coffee, items from the bakery case, and made to order items like their DELICIOUS mini donuts. Friendly staff, great service, clean and nice atmosphere. Do yourself a favor and try it out!

One of my go to spots! If only I could spend more time here! This quaint spot is perfect on so many levels. Great, healthy food options, delicious, local coffees and teas, homemade mini donuts, whats not to love? Both indoor and outdoor seating make it attractive to people from all walks of life. Youll see busy professionals taking meetings mixed with retirees catching up over coffee. Pets are welcome outside and there are plenty of water bowls for dogs. If only they were open on Sundays.

Ended a weekend run here with a group of friends. We arrived around 10:15AM, and of course, there was a line at the door. Staff handed out food menus to the people in line, so we could be prepared to order once we were inside. We were happy to see that masks were required indoors. The staff at the counter were courteous, patient, and offered suggestions when asked. Since we were there at peak hours, seating indoors and outdoors was limited, but we were able to find a place inside. I had a pumpkin honey oat milk latte and the garden veggie omelette, and I shared some mini donuts. Everything tasted great, and the menu was reasonably priced. Overall, a great experience. I would love to return during a less busy time and spend some quiet moments here.

Sola is incredible. Not only do they have great coffee and food (including fantastic healthy salads, sandwiches, and bowls for lunch), but they also have delicious mini donuts that we catered for our wedding! John and team were wonderful to work with - very flexible and responsive. Our guests keep telling us how much they loved the donuts instead of cake! We’d highly recommend and will keep visiting Sola whenever we’re in town.

I’m disappointed greatly with this place. My wife came to sola, she had to take my car because I had hers, and so she didn’t have a mask with her. My wife is more than willing to wear one. She had a friend, who was wearing a mask, to go in to see if they had one she could wear. They didn’t have any on hand. That being said, our friend asked if my wife could come in quickly with our 2 month old baby to sit down. However, they refused forcing her and our baby to sit outside in the heat. My wife ordered tea and could only stay for a very short time because it isn’t safe for a baby to be out in the open sun. The disappointment comes in the irony of the situation with their policy on “safety” - they clearly don’t care.

Sola Coffee Cafe is probably one of my favorite spots in Raleigh, sadly it is on the complete opposite side of town to be so I dont get to come up as much as I like. The place is usually pretty busy, probably because its good, and the atmosphere is always open and fresh. There are lots of plants, big windows, and space with a good bar. They have lots of outside seating for the summer months and various table sizes to accommodate all groups. You can also book out the place for private events, as I learned the last time I was there. They have a variety of pastries that change out based on when you go, and some other options that are around all the time such as the mini donuts. They make fantastic coffee and have an amazing selection of teas! You can buy their coffee and tea options if you want some too take home at well.Overall an amazing place and fantastic to just sit and read a book or work.

The food and coffee never disappoints. I went this morning with my 15 month old and the main reasons was for the minis! I waited in the line that started outside the door, which was fine, I know it is busy on Saturday’s. After ordering and sitting down at a table I realized the one thing we came for, minis, I forgot to order. When one of the employees came over with our food I mentioned I forgot to order them and asked if she could put an order in since I was alone with my son. She told me I had to get back in line, which was now into the parking lot....

Decent coffee and breakfast food. Overpriced food the other times. Not as family friendly as I felt it once was (maybe it never was?). Won’t be going back after they shamed a kid for drawing a dragon in chalk on the sidewalk by the parking lot (Ie a chalk dragon, on a sidewalk, not even the property they lease). Great coffee smoothies and amazing food!! Usually the place is packed - for good reason - but if you find them open during the week its a great place to work as there is lots of tables and chairs to spread out. Private room available for conferences in the back or meetings with more than three people. Not a bad coffee shop if it were less judgmental. Staff could be nicer - they were super uptight about not letting me put almonds in my smoothie because it wasnt common practice and the woman wouldnt give me her name. Almost borderline rude... But I know the general staff and ownership and they are usually VERY amicable so I take this as an outlier and only gave it 5 stars because its a little too hipster for my tastes but Im ok with that. . .

*Avoid like the...The yellow #WARNING tape on the door is appropriate. If Solas goal is to make their guests as comfortable as the incessant threat of a global pandemic instead of providing a respite or oasis from same- they are succeeding brilliantly.Upon arriving at our patio table- a young lady came over to place a Needs Sanitizing sign on our table. She explained that it was necessary to show that our table required sanitizing after we departed.Charming👻All of Solas Covid-19 Precautions were designed with exactly two parties in mind- Covid and Sola. The garish, handwritten signs (IN RED IN CAPS!!) strewn about the property actually do an exceptional job of conveying the bleakness of our present dystopian circumstances, if youre into that aesthetic.Coffee: Due to Covid, I presume, theres no opportunity to prepare your coffee to taste. Theyll do it- but in my case, not as requested. The result: bitterness. Literally and figuratively.Wi-Fi: If you enquire (you have to- theres no signage visible) theyll tell you its been spotty for months...A coffee shop in 2020, with 1990s WiFi? Cmon Sola! 🔋🌞Power: There are #zero power outlets available for guests. There is an outlet box outdoors, crudely locked shut with twisted wire.If you ask- youll be informed that the outlet is for OUR USE ONLY- and by that she was actually saying- That outlet is NOT for YOUR use.Sola Surveillance State:Despite there not being a single power outlet for guest use on the entire rear patio- Solas management did determine that their guests would enjoy being surveilled and monitored- perhaps to feel safer as they looked in vain for napkins, sugar, creamer, a trash can, Wifi, a power outlet or a bathroom? It wouldve been simple enough to run power down from their #BigBrother camera and installed a few outlets for emergency #Pandemic😷 recharges- but that wouldve required considering the wants and needs of their patrons- which Covid has clearly decimated.Bathrooms: If you ask about restrooms, be prepared to be brusqely directed to a Food Lion across the parking lot with that timeless sorry, not sorry, idgaf about your problem vibe.Ive visited Sola in years past and always enjoyed the experience.Based on todays experience, Ill let Sola fully recover from this pandemic and get back into the business of providing thoughtful accomodations for their patrons before I return.I dont see any need to pay good money to be treated like a human Coronavirus. All that said- most folks there appeared quite satisfied (resigned to) with the state of affairs.Dear Management:I genuinely empathize with your plight, despite the fact that you seem to have given very little consideration to mine😉When I stepped into the dining room (oops) there were 8-10 adults, masked and unmasked, going about their business.Aside from the woman placing the #YouAreABiohazard marker on our table, I never witnessed a single employee engaging with a guest in a constructive manner aside from:- No Bathroom for You- No Power Outlet for You- Doubtful Wifi For YouHonestly, Ive only penned 2 or 3 critical business reviews in my 45 years. I arrived at Sola in a great mood.It takes alot for me to stop what Im doing and suggest that our neighbors temper their expectations with a business. But here we are.Id be happy to share my thoughts with you (gratis) on how to #Resist the pandemic while ALSO providing your guests with an A+ customer experience. It seems to this point that youve considered those outcomes as mutually exclusive- they most definitely are not.I left my business card behind to assist you in straightening out your Wi-Fi- your guests and employees will thank you later. Thanks for letting me share!IC

Been so cool to see Sola evolve over the past couple years and really become a Raleigh staple. Its a place where you feel welcome and comfortable. They have a great pop up market once a month featuring local makers. Their food is also great, not huge portion sizes but no one typically wants that at a coffee shop. The baristas seem to be a big group of friends and seeing how much they enjoy working with each other, almost always laughing and grinning about something, puts a smile on my face every time. There are seasonal wifi hours, which can be frustrating, but its part of what Sola is. During the pandemic, theyve created a walk up and drive through curbside pickup system and are clearly taking precautions seriously. If youre in the area, stop by for a coffee and some donuts. Especially if they have a special flavor that day.

I came here for the first time a few weeks ago and the staff was so rude to me. I did not realize the pick up line was drive thru - my passenger side window is very difficult to open as it is not automatic - so I chose to stand in line like many many other people were doing to pick up their order and told the woman bringing my coffee to me this. She was so rude and said I shouldn’t tell them I’m picking it up one way of I’m not going to follow directions and rolled her eyes at me. I told her I wasn’t given directions or told I had to pick up through my car - and everyone else who was behind me was picking up an order too so I don’t know why she was so upset at me.I tried to go back again - all I wanted was a coffee mug that said I believe in Raleigh. I came after 1 which is when you can go inside for orders, not that I knew that until I got here because google just shows they’re open until 3, but there were at least 3 staff inside and I knocked on the door and no one would even look at me or even ask what I wanted. They are still open - I was there before closing but they just chose to ignore me. It’s not worth it to go here even though it’s cute if the staff is going to be rude all the time. I will give it one more chance and change my review of the experience is better but 2 times staff has acted like I’m a bother and they don’t want to be there..

As we ordered, we were the first people to get there to order and the last people to be given our coffee because they changed baristas. The service was average at best, seen better service elsewhere. Also, we both ordered two differently flavored lattes and it tasted identical so they forgot to put the flavor in there.
