The gentleman that took my call when I called to confirm the online service date and tires buy 3 get one free sale was great and honest. He scheduled my service appt. For the next day and also confirmed that the tires were in stock and will be put aside for me.The next day i got my tires installed while I waited and I left there a happy customer and a week later I continue to be a happy and satisfied customer. They were professional, understanding and fast! Thank you for the great service that was done to my 07 Armada LE. Ill definitely recommend anyone to this location for all your car service needs. I was told that a diagnostic test would be $120 from a previous car repair shop & was worried I was being overcharged. I came to pep boys & was offered a cheaper price for the same service. Not only did they help me, but they also we able to fix my signal light & my locked gear shift in less than an hour with no appointment needed. I am so very grateful. The entire pep boys crew was efficient & I am very grateful for that. The man Fred at the front desk helped me almost immediately & I would recommend this to anybody who needs quick car service

I would not return to this location for any of my vehicle needs. We had an appointment on a Sunday for 9:00 am for a full set of tires. There was only one vehicle ahead of me and both of us stayed in the waiting for during the service appointments. They finished the first car after 11:00 am. My truck was done around 12:30. If my tires had not been paid for and shipped to that location I would have walked out. A gentlemen also found several loose nails in the driving area, so I hope that my brand new tires are not damaged. I will assume the one guy doing tire installation had a long night because he was moving extremely slow. I would prefer to pay more if this is the type of service that I am going to get.

Mr, Fred was extremely nice. The gentleman got me in quickly and was done in less than 30mins. Unlike other places who I feel pressure you to get extra work done on your car, these guys didn’t. We came for the oil change without appointment since the signal shown need to get it done. I was so worried in the beginning since it is Sunday and I am pretty sure that the service will be packed but turn out Bandon, an assistance manger was being super helpful and guide us all the process has been done so quick and smooth. 2 1/2 hours for an inspection... Completely unacceptable.The front desk associate was friendly and explained why it took so long when I mentioned the wait time. However it should be common sense to let a customer know upfront that it will be a long time before they can get to you. It is quite clear that they care more about the money they can make immediately than they do about customer retention.

Ive been to Pep Boys three times in six years Ive lived in Raleigh. Honestly, the first two experiences were pretty bad, and I swore I wouldnt come back after my last experience four years ago. Today, I went back. This experience was great! The gentlemen at the counter treated me well and the technician, Alberto, did exactly what I needed done. My hard heart softened quite a bit today. Im sure a lot of things could have changed in four years. Ill come back the next time I need something!

Joel quoted me $394 to replace the car battery on my 2018 Volkswagen that I’d only owned for 3 months. He asked if it was still under warranty and I didn’t think it was. Joel took the time to call my warranty company anyways and the battery was covered! A little extra time and assistance and PepBoys saved me $394. Thank you!!!

Ive had pretty satisfactory service from Pep Boys in the past but my latest service was disappointing. They were able to take care of my car (needed a new tire installed) but it wasnt until after two whole days at the shop. I had set up an appointment for it online and informed them that a tow truck will be dropping it off at the time I set the appointment for. I had to constantly call them myself for an update after waiting for long periods of time throughout the day. I was informed that I would get a call towards the end of the day of the drop off but did not hear from them the next day after calling (again) the following morning.

Great service, honest mechanics.Went in for alignment, ended up getting the lifetime alignments since it was a good deal with a coupon. They had the job done within a couple hours, and I was able to talk with the tech to ensure it was done how I wanted.I had gone to a different shop previously and they had broken a bolt which I had to fix, Pep boys tech on the other hand was very careful, using hand tools where appropriate, took their time, and was able to perform the alignment without breaking anything even with an older vehicle.They also were honest with other customers who didn’t know as much about cars, other shops not so much from my time in waiting rooms. Don’t try to sell you a bunch of junk you don’t need.

Had to go here for a tire rotation and ended up needing new tires. I was very confused about this so Joel explained how and why I needed to get all 4 replaced. Even got me a great price for them and a warranty and through in a tire tread gauge. Very good to work with and got everything done on my vehicle in great time!

I made an appointment online at 8:30am and requested oil change and tire rotation for my Honda Odyssey. When I came, the guy in front told me to drop off my car there and come back in 2 hrs. My car wasnt ready for pick up until 3 hrs later. So, what is the point of making an appointment?! When I came for pick up, I found out that they did NOT do tire rotation since I always check and mark the tires right before taking my car to car shop for tire rotation/maintenance. I told the guy in front about it, he said he saw his technician did it. He only then told me to leave my car there for tire rotation when I proved him wrong by showing him tire evaluation (that they sent it to me earlier) showing that 5/32 tire tread on front tires (old tires) and 7/32 tire tread on back tires (new tires), and now the tires locations were still the same as they were before. I refused to leave my car there for tire rotation since I didnt trust their business at that point any more. I wont come back to this car shop.

Among the worst experiences that I ever have in an Auto shop. Had my alignment done here and my other car done at Garner Pep Boys. Garner Pep Boys have done a much better job by comparison. I am blaming it on the pandemic, being an Asian American these days get you screwed in more ways than one.

Make sure they do the work. This place charged us for an inspection but didnt do it. I tried to pay the taxes and couldnt. Then I bring it back and they say it didnt pass why didnt you tell us this 2 weeks ago when the truck was here. We had them check brakes said they were OK 6 months later rotors and the whole breaking system had to be replaced.. myasthenia times this place.

Amazing service! I’m from NJ and i only Go to pep boys in Eatontown NJ for my oil changes on my 2017 Mazda 6series. I’ve been on a road trip with 4 kids for the past two weeks and was in dire need of an oil change! I came to pep boys off capital rd and was able to walk down the road to eat at a food truck and come back to my car waiting for me FULLY SERVICED and ready (i was Only gone for an hour and 20 minutes and they were very very VERY BUSY)!. I had my two nieces and my two young children with me and they noticed i had A lot going on with them (my youngest was screaming/ crying for me and fighting her brother) they let me go without having to pay even after I absolutely INSISTED that i pay. Hands down best service I’ve gotten in a long time not because i got My services done for free but because they genuinely understood my struggle and wanted me to have a better day/smooth trip back to NJ! (I’ll still pay for my services if i ever Get contacted by them)

But I was told that because my appt was scheduled after 8 am I would be treated like a walk in the man at the desk was rude and disrespectful and didn’t even look at me while talking. I will never go to this place again this is the second bad experience I have had here. If I could give them less than 1 star I would.

I went there on Friday for oil change and found they were busy. I made an appointment for Sunday 1pm and confirmed with them. On Sunday I dropped everything I was doing and went there at 1pm to be told we are serving customers from 11am, so you have to wait for couple hrs earliest 3pm, make another appointment, or leave your car with us. I asked then what was the purpose of making an appointment if am waiting for more than two hrs? Whoever I talked to seemed not to care about the question. I called somewhere else and the oil change was done before 2pm. It could have been better to call me and delay my appointment than to wait for me to reach there while I had dropped everything to make it to the appointment and be told to wait couple hrs. Poor customer service.

This store caused an immense amount of stress to me and my Honda who had just passed perfect inspection. The check engine light came on immediately after a simple oil change and I noticed this giant hole in this hose. The mechanic said the light was from him not plugging in the mass air flow sensor in (and starting and moving the vehicle) and plugged it in and turned the check engine light off.I returned 2 days later after the light returned and asked about this hole to another employee and they said it’s “completely normal.” My car broke down *4* times and after hours at Autozone, a kind soul and I acknowledged this SAME giant hole and the mechanic said it was undeniable that this store was full of crooks and/or lacking basic knowledge to let something like this slide. This is not normal. They broke it.

I had an O2 sensor replaced and days later check engine like came right back on. I ran my own diagnostic test an it read the same code that they was supposed to have fix it. I took it to another garage to have a second opinion and the diagnostic read the same exact code which was the O2 sensor. When i showed up to pep boys they refuse to correct the issue. They wanted me to pay for a diagnostic and pay for issue that they never corrected. First and last time they will service my vehicle. Horrible service!!!

Customer service job - dealing with the public directly ... certain types of people with tones/attitude problems/overbearing vocal sounds dont need to work the front desk. Theirs a time and a place to have an aggressive tone. Just because of a rainy day or holiday doesnt mean throw your attitude onto people. Tone it down.

I own a 2008 BMW 535i. I called because I needed a simple headlight bulb replaced and was quoted $400.I’m already aware that the headlight itself is $100 but 300 just to change it? Doesn’t make sense to me. The man said they had to remove the entire bumper in order to replace it.I ended up buying the build from Auto Zone for 100 and went to another local shop who replaced it for $50. I watched them replace my bulb and they didn’t even need to remove the bumper.

I understand that individual experiences lead people to give either positive or negative reviews. This experience for me was positive. I went in to have the heater core on my care replaced. I got a quote on the phone and when I came in a more seasoned employee (Brandon) said that the original quote was short as it did not include labor for another procedure. I thought they were trying to milk some more money but I now realize Brandon has a lot of knowledge and was just making sure that I knew what could possibly happen during this procedure.They replaced the heater core and did not end up having to do the additional work so I was not charged the extra labor and the total came out to the original quote on the phone. I am not sure if Brandon is a manager but he was very polite and informative; he is certainly an asset to their team.On a side note, when I walked in to pick up my car I heard Brandon talking to another customer and he was strongly urging him to not try a fix that was going to cost him more money and might not work. He seems very interested in giving customers the best value and not ripping them off for fixes that could be achieved in a cheaper/better manner.I know from reading some other reviews that people did not have positive experiences but as things have turned out I am happy with the service that I received.

Do not bring your car here for air conditioning repair! Ive spent $1195 on this repair. Just picked my car up from the shop and my AC still isnt working properly!! Im annoyed! I took my car last Saturday spent $912. Then I had to take it back because my AC still wasnt working and they charged me another $283 to replace a valve!! The AC still isnt working. Please whatever you do, go somewhere else!!!!Update: Pep boys did repair my AC after the 3rd try. I spent a total of $1737 on what the mechanic said, a leaky compressor, a bad valve and condenser. Im just glad they finally fixed the issue and blessed to have the money to have it done. Thanks!

Atrocious service!! I came in for the required state inspection, checked in and headed to the lounge area. There were two people ahead of me, so I waited, and waited. And waited. One hour and fifteen minutes to be exact. I walked out to inquire how much longer it was going to take, and I was told it was done already. So naturally I ask how long has it been done, because Ive been waiting for over an hour, and the front desk employee, name Edgar, basically shrugged his shoulders and said I dont know, Ive been out and just got back. Your total is $30. Zero concern and no apology. This is my first time visiting this store, and it will definitely be my last!!!

Guys, the customer service here is unmatched. I called into this pep boys location as a new customer, distraught about my alternator quote given at firestone. I called in hopes of being more informed of my repair options, the manager Richard is absolutely stellar. This guy went above and beyond for me with any cost saving options he was able to do for me. Not only that, he has my car ready the same day by their 8pm close time! I will definitely be returning to do all my Honda Pilot necessities with Richard and this awesome Pep Boys location staff!

I used to take both of my vehicles here for service and was always pleased until my last visit. Must be under new management. I needed 3 things accomplished; a state inspection, an oil change and a tire rotation. After having my car for over 5 hours, I had to call them to check the status of my car. They couldnt do the inspection because of a computer problem but never bothered to contact me so that I could make other arrangements. Very unhappy with the level of customer service.

Took my 09 Silverado to get a tire pressure sensor changed ... bought the piece to switch out the bad sensor at auto zone . They changed the back driver side wheel and they claimed the front driver side tire was also damaged . I headed back to auto zone to buy the other sensor for the front tire and I dropped it off at pep boys and they called me and told me it wasn’t the right “sensor piece” so I went to pick up the piece from pep boys to return it to autozone and auto zone told me that wasn’t the same piece I had purchased there no less than 1 hr ago . PepBoys didn’t actually change the sensors on my truck, they jus kept the newly purchased pieces I had bought at autozone and tried to make me switch out the used pieces and even after that they tried charging me again for another “sensor change” . Terrible experience, never going back .

Started my car up this morning and it showed three of my tires at 33psi and one at 11psi, so I filled up the leaky one and brought it in to get patched/replaced.After thirty minutes someone came out to me and said everything looked fine, and I had to explain that everything “looked” fine because I had just filled that tire up, otherwise they would have seen what I had saw this morning initially.They took it back inside the shop and spent a while looking at the tire, and after a good bit the leak was found and they were able to patch it! This visit took longer than I had hoped it would, but things don’t always go as smoothly as we’d like and that’s alright.Got to spend $18 on a patch instead of well over $125 on a new tire, so I’m definitely happy with my experience today!

They joke about which cars they are going to fail for inspection and I quote I dont feel like doing this entire inspection.. manager: fail it.Read the reviews... I went to Pep Boys with an appointment to get a standard oil change. When I got there the guy at the desk told me 20 to 30 minutes to get it done. Which I was fine with. Fast forward 2 hrs and 15 minutes Im still waiting on my car to get done. I kept asking the front desk associate how much longer and he would say 10 to 15 minutes. I was very mad because an oil change should not take that long especially with an appointment and when it was not even busy. There was only me and another guy waiting. The mechanic kept taking his time and walking around talking to other technicians and laughing it up without a care in the world. He would go and look at the car then walk away and continue talking. When the car was done the guy just handed me the keys and didnt even apologize for the long oil change. I will not go back to this place. Very unprofessional and horrible customer service. Why make an appointment if its going to take that long?

At service counter people are friendly and helpful. Even if busy. They quickly get you written up and their prices are okay. They will check scheduled work ahead of you. Then if necessary check with techs in shop area before telling you how long your wait will be. This is when it goes wrong. The work is never done by the techs in time you were told. After that just pull up chair and wait. You will spend most of your day waiting.

Helpful and friendly staff. Came in to get my vehicle inspected and a headlight replaced, and I was told the price upfront. The waiting area had some coffee and a TV as well as wifi, so the wait was no problem.
