My kids love coming in! Daniel talks with them and sometimes there are cookies or treats, which he always lets the kids have one! Reading is such an important part of childrens lives, and it is wonderful that he connects with them and makes them want to come back! my husband collects comics, so he also loves the store... Im not sure he gets cookies though lol

The dollar bins alone are worth the hour drive. Always feel welcome and always leave happy. Would like see some newer comic runs but the current selection is great. Plenty of accessories and supplies. Highly recommended shop.

I’m sad that this place is going out of business. I’ve been getting Star Wars comics here for about 2 years and the people there were great. I wish Daniel and all of the other’s who work there well and would gladly buy from them in the future. May the force be with you underdark.

Underdark Comics is a great place, whether youre a lifelong nerd or new to the world of comics, gaming, etc. The store is clean and well-stocked; if the owner doesnt have something particular in stock, he is more than willing to order it for you. The orders come in quickly, usually in less than a week, and you avoid paying outrageous shipping fees. The store offers plenty of social opportunities, including Magic: The Gathering tournaments, new release events, D&D campaigns, board game days, and more. The store also stocks a number of board games available to play before buying, so you can get an idea of whether or not the game is for you.The owner is accommodating and welcoming; he is especially understanding of my two young girls that normally come with my husband and me when we show up for our weekly gaming commitments. He asks only that they not run in the store or touch anything unless under my husbands or my supervision (duh!); he has absolutely no problem with them camping out on his floor with their toys and coloring books while we game for hours.Underdark is a family-friendly and non-judgmental haven for anyone with any sort of nerdy inclination. I definitely recommend it.

Place was essentially dead on a Saturday afternoon. Selection was overpriced and pretty lack-luster.EDIT: Adding more details per owners request. The store is hidden on a downtown street in a building that seems like storage on the first floor. Go up a flight of stairs and the place is one room and is fairly large. Most of the place is tables for play - and that is great. There were three people there, one of which was running the store. We were greeted and said we were looking around and did so, so the worker went back to talking/sitting with the other patrons. The board game selection featured games from several years back like Apollo XIII (which, indeed, MSRPed for $40.00 in 2015 but has since fallen to less than $25.00 and can be picked up at Goodwill, new and sealed, for $6.00) and a single copy of Pandemic Legacy. The shelves were half empty, and what was there was certainly not what Id call popular. The comic selection was fair, though there were some silly prices on some issues. Valuation was hit and miss on card singles, and a good deal of the boxes I checked featured some beat up cards that had seen too much play, even the holos or rarer cards that would normally warrant a higher price. Miniatures, 40k or otherwise were dusty and limited. Card packs are priced what they are, so that wasnt the issue. All in all the atmosphere was dingy and sad, but that is the state of comic stores these days. My rating on this store does not take in the amount of patrons, but the workers and my interactions with them. I didnt feel particularly welcome, and I dont recommend the place to anyone I know unless they are looking for tournaments or group play.

Many MTG cards, collectible comic books, limited board game selection (but better than department stores), tables for events, Warhammer 40k setups, but poor upkeep

Knowledgeable nerds, reasonably priced goods. The best spot in town to get rare MTG cards and the like.

Tucked away, but its worth a visit. Lots of cool stuff here if you like comics or board games (dnd etc.).

The employees feel that card tournaare more important than customers waiting to ask a question or purchase an item. Needs more variety of games. Not enough Star Wars games, Fallout games, and Pokémon games. Not many Pokémon cards. Too much Magic.
