Joshua at Creative Soapstone is a true master artisan. If you want soapstone, I honestly cannot think why youd go anywhere else. His expertise in this medium is extensive, his professionalism excellent, and hes just a darn good person! I knew I wanted soapstone after doing extensive research on countertop options available. I found Creative Soapstone through a Google search and gave them a call. Joshua answered the phone and his kind and genuine personality immediately shone through. I forwarded a diagram of the kitchen layout to his wife, Mimi, and we set up an appt. We, my mom, husband & I, travelled the 2 hours south to meet Joshua in person at his showroom. Boy, were we in for a treat! We got fully educated in soapstone and had the opportunity to choose from dozens of slabs. I love my contractor, but her soapstone person just could not offer what Creative Soapstone could when it came to selection! And the price between Creative Soapstone and my contractors was the same. Im a bit particular when choosing something that I intend to have in my home until forever, so I really wanted lots of choices. Joshua was very patient in showing us many slabs until we found the dreamiest one for us. I had to push back the installation date by a week due to our house remodel falling a bit behind, but Mimi & Josh were very flexible even in the midst of one of their busiest times ever. Installation day went off without a hitch...on time, on budget, faster than expected, and stunning. I will upload photos once the kitchen is complete, but I must note the amazing perfection of the cuts where the stone meets the wall. Our kitchen has some challenging diagonal corners but Joshuas cuts fit perfectly. When I told my contractor the soapstone guy was ready as soon as the cabinets were in, she was thinking Josh would just be coming to do measurements, as is the process for most countertop installers. When I told her, no, actually hes coming to measure, cut & install all at once, she was floored. Totally not the norm in this industry! I could seriously go on and on about just how great this family business is (both Josh & Mimi), but its something that needs to be experienced to fully appreciate. If you think you want soapstone, put Creative Soapstone at the top of your list. You will not be disappointed!
