I love West Elm and this store is very convenient for us, but I wish it were larger. There is simply not enough floor space to cover many of the furniture options available. I later visited their Summit, NJ store and was much happier when picking out furniture. They have a lot more styles on display there.Princeton is a great place to pick up smaller items, like plates, runners, pillows, table settings and so on. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

Welcoming and polite staff. Way less collections/ products than the store in NYC or online. Not much of choices. You can spend 10 minutes to walk through the entire store.

I was completely shocked that after spending 15 minutes browsing this store, not one salesperson approached me to see if I needed any assistance. What they did offer was vacant stares. I was also disappointed with the stores interior displays...nothing stood out, nothing attracted a second look.

Had the worst customer service of my life. Felt completely disrespected and doubted when I brought two items to be returned since they were delivered to my house completely damaged. One of the returns was for a dining set that was bought online but actually sent from a west elm store to my house and most items were either damaged, scratched and/or not part of the same set. The woman at the physical store still implied that I used the dining set and did not allow for the 2 items to be returned in store - that all after driving 25min to the closest store (and being directed by their online customer service to do so). I will never buy at this overpriced, low quality with arrogant customer service anymore and I do not recommend their products and service to anyone else.

I completely agree with below comments on customer service experience. I ordered a console table and cancelled it within a day, because I found another one somewhere else.1.) I didn’t get a cancellation email2.) When I followed up with customer service, I was told I had to wait until the furniture got to the dock - which would be on February 17th - but got absolutely no confirmation that I would get a refund3.) I received no call on February 17th to to schedule the delivery (which is also when I was told I could cancel - ie. when I got the call to schedule and deliver)3.) When February 17th rolled around, I waited a few days and followed up again - was told that I now had to wait for table to get to docking station (would arrive between February 23rd and March 9th). Again no confirmation that I would get a refund.4.) They were told there is nothing they could do about it, and it is a unique situation, however for a unique situation they were not able to provide any confirmation. Furthermore, an acquaintance of mine also had a horrible situation with West Elm customer service.5.) They also wrote an inaccurate note as to why I was returning - citing “Sa says don’t really know I stated that customer will lose Shipping charges tried to do a doc RT...”. lol I told them why I was returning - bc I found another one. The store had printed out a copy of notes and this is how I saw it - they couldn’t send me an email confirmation - I don’t think a paper confirmation means anything 4 months down the line.The item I bought was not a small amount, and I would only buy again from them if I was buying in store (no delivery involved). Customer service with a smile is NOT the only ingredient to GOOD/GREAT customer service.

I went to the store to pick up a heavy mirror, they barely say hello and they did not say bye or Thank you. I was using mask but they did not help me to lift the mirror, which I understand giving the situation, but they didnt tell in advance. If you want to bring back business keep precautions but do t forget to be humans and your manners.

Horrible policy for online returns as you need to wait and check back on refund or else You will never get one. Also pl do not shop at WEST ELM Princeton location. Manager is rude and when you return a item ordered online they do not take it back in store no matter if it’s boxed and never opened

As i have seen with others, I would give this place zero stars as well. I have never seen an employee with such indifference regarding customer satisfaction and a completely uncaring attitude as I found Joann in the Princeton location to have today. What company lets you order to pick up in the store and then doesnt have anyone to help on a Saturday and youre turned away? Rather than try to help find a solution so I can pick up my very small cabinet I get cut off when speaking, attitude and indifference. Perhaps because it wasnt your sale you didnt care that we cancelled it. Awful job.

Joanne, the home stylist, was very helpful when placing order. The delivery team were the best - courteous, efficient and professional. Few weeks later though, Anne the shift manager was snobby and either ignorant or didnt like to take a return.

Julia and her manager were beyond helpful! We broke one of our light fixtures and they went above and beyond to find the last one available in all of the US and then ship it to me! Even without the items box they packaged it securely and had ti delivered. Thank you!!!

NOTE: this is about the company, not this particular store.West Elm -says- it offers “buy online, pick up in store,” but virtually NONE of the furniture they sell online is available for pick up in any but their flagship stores. So yes, they run sales, but all the “sales” ever do is mitigate shipping costs, which 99% of the time are not avoidable if you don’t/can’t drive into the center of a metropole to pick up your items. To my mind, this is false advertising/bait-and-switch, and it turns me off of them. I don’t appreciate being considered too stupid to do basic math. If the company ever figures out a better method of supply I might do business with them again—but as of now their pricing is deceptive and disguises the fact that they operate like a furniture Amazon, but push a far heftier portion of their business expenses onto the consumer. I’d rather pick up something from the antique store down the block than overpay again for something from West Elm.

This location has a worst customer service. I feel like if you are Asian, you will be completely ignored and will be badly treated. I went to this store to return the unopened curtains, I knew I was late by 1 day, and I wanted a store credit and not full refund. Also, receipt does not specify that one will not get a store credit if returned after due date. After being completely ignored and rudely behaved by two associates, I waited at the store and called their customer service. As per the representative, store associates can still give me a store credit, but store associates were stubborn not to give me a store credit. As per them, giving a store credit is same as refunding for an item. I dont know from where they get this wrong information. I requested them to charge me restocking fee if needed. After spending 30 mins, I was finally given a store credit, but overall people at this store are very rude. I will never go back at this location. Associates at this place behave as if they own this place. I never expected this kind of treatment from high end store. WORST PLACE TO SHOP. I WILL SHOP FROM PARAMUS STORE.

I went to the Princeton market place store to purchase a couch for my new home. On that particular day there was a promotion going for 25% off a single item. The Couch I was interested in was listed in full price. The sales woman, Missi who attended on that day assured me that if I make the purchase she could give me a store credit for the delivery charge (229$) which I can use for future purchase. She also convinced me to open a west elm store card to get additional 10% off. I believed her opened a west elm account and went ahead with this purchase. Couch was delivered but the promised store credit never came thru after 4-6 weeks. After repeated calls to the store ( every time I called Missi wasn’t working in the store that day) and customer service I decided to write off this amount.I am sharing my experience because I don’t want anyone to go through a similar experience. West elm should train their employees better and try to set things right with the customer, but they never followed up on this. Very disappointed!

The worst customer service! I drove 50 mins for a purchase I made online. They won’t take it back because the box is opened. Receipt is there, box is there, things are not damaged. Never seen a customer service like this

Pathetic customer service, I called Princeton store several times for a product, they kept me on hold for long time, and then said they will call me back, but I receive no call. When I call them back, they again ask hundred questions, keep me on hold etc, on top of that, they are rude! West elm products are expensive and their service is equally cheap.
