Definitely a traditional diner from the exterior and interior. Lots of options on their menu. I had a soup and it was delicious. Their jambalaya was nice and my wife enjoyed her patty melt and the good amount of fries for the side. We both really enjoyed the apple pie with ice cream and whip cream.
Ditches Diner is a delight! I stopped by for lunch and it was delicious and very good service. Clean and friendly atmosphere! I had the pastrami Reuben with sweet potato fries that was delish, my brother had the cheeseburger deluxe that I could tell was mouth-watering! I suggest everyone stop by Dutchess Diner when youre in the area! Thank you Dutchess Diner!
Eggs Benedict was ok. The English muffin was perfectly toasted and not overly thick or dominant element. Eggs were tasteless, hollandaise perfectly fluid but not special, ham was grilled but a minimal component. Need to add another slice of the shaved ham. The space was unique and the staff responsive, a 5 by themselves.
Food was excellent. They took humble fare tuna and chicken salad and elevated it. The service was a little slow but the timing of delivery of the food was good.
We just walked in and there was no one that took an interest in us. One worker was on their phone and could not even bother to look up and acknowledge us. Finally someone came and seated us, gave us water. 10 minutes go by and not 1 employee stops by to ask us if wed like anything to drink, yet there are about 7 or so employees chatting and laughing, and, only a couple of customers I the restaurant. We got up to leave.. As soon as we got up, a waitress comes running to us. I said, we are good thanks and left.. My first and last time there!!
So me and my wife have stopped here plenty of times for food and just never seen it on the menu..They have Philly cheese steak fries that are phenomenal..Whoever came up with this was a genius.You will always have a good meal!
Good variety and quality of food, great location, and excellent customer service. Our waitress, Julia was so friendly and accommodating. The hostess was very welcoming as well. We will definitely be back!
I stopped by yesterday for the first time in many years. I live far away but since my family lives near by we had the opportunity to stop by yesterday. Everyone is super friendly from the moment your sat down to the moment you leave, plus the food (hamburgers) were awesome! The cheese is not the cheap American you buy at the grocery stores 🏬 plus it comes with onion rings 😀😃. My cousin an I had the same thing and I got a chocolate milkshake a dinner must 😉. Highly recommend to anyone that’s near by and need their dinner fix. Ty!
Routinely frequent this place, pick up mostly. Due to its location when school is in, I tend to stay away from dine in, however thats my personal preference not a review of staff. Food quality is great, wide menu as expected at a diner. Strongly suggest.

Worst diner ever, don’t come. The business and servers are so slow and while i was waiting for my food my waiter was over there eating!? another time i went there i waited almost an hour for my food, mcdonald’s has better,faster and greater workers/business.
We were here for breakfast. The diner motif is fun and well-done. The breakfast menu is extensive. I had the basic country breakfast, with eggs over easy, pancakes, sausage, and home fries. The sausage may be the best I have had in a long time. The home fries were also delicious. The pancakes and the eggs werent very good.
This place is always clean and they are so friendly. But honestly its the food that we keep coming back for..so good, very consistent.
I myself snd a few friends ate there last night. We ALL got sick in the restaurant after eating! Throwing up and #2. We were not the only ones. There were about 6 other people coming in the bathroom with the Dane thing. It was a disaster trying to all user the bathroom with only 3 stalls. DO NOT EVER EAT HERE!!!

Not terrible but have definitely been to better diners. Booth was dirty & no air conditioning. Ordered poor boy wrap for breakfast, which wouldve been great, except I found hair in it.... Thank God for the fruit cup that came with it on the side. we wont be returning.

The food is great here for diner food especially the burgers you have to try! The owners are very nice also always pleasant I highly recommend stopping in, way better than the other diners in the area.

The Dutchess Diner is the classic diner. The staff is friendly and helpful. The menu has all the comfort food options . Their burgers are juicy and filling. When we stopped by the restaurant was crowded, we were seated fast and the order came out shortly after we ordered. The Dutchess Diner is definitely worth the stop

I love this diner.! All the staff here at this diner are so very friendly and accommodating from the hostess, waitress and busboy to the person that rings up the order at the register. Also, the food was served quickly and it was amazing. We brought a friend there for the first time and she cant wait to return with her family. Well be back soon!

Best diner in the area. Nice looking on the inside with the chandeliers. Went here for dinner with a friend and our food arrived so hot we had to wait for it to cool down before we could eat it. It was delicious. Will definitely be going back again.
I ordered the foot long hot dog and was given an over cooked hotdogs and 2 buns that equal a footlong. The Chilli was dried up. Over all they are normal good. Very disappointed.

The food was not on par with other diners in my opinion. The waitress although she was cordial didnt point out any specials. Maybe there werent any.She took my drink order. After 10 minutes she returns to take my order but no drink in hand. She admitted she had forgotten.Takes my order. I go to the salad bar. After 10 or 15 minutes she returns with both the cup of soup and main entree. She said something like, it came out faster than I thought.Timing food courses is important. All of sudden I found the table with the salad I hadnt finished, a cup of soup whichvwas getting cold and the main entree.She never thought of asking if Id like a refill on the ice tea. She never suggested dessert or coffee.She dropped off the check as if she had something else to do.Will I go back. Most likely not.This was my first time engagement with the Dutchess Diner on Rte 9 in Poughkeepsie NY. I was looking forward to a nice experience yet it came up short.My dining dollar will go elsewhere in the future when Im back in the area.

WOW !!! The Dutchess Diner in Poughkeepsie NEW YORK ROCKS . Ive lived in Dutchess County for almost 30 years . My family and I have dined out and ordered out in every restaurant in Dutchess County . If your looking for a Five Star experience on the variety and quality of the food you love. Dining in or ordering out it will be worth the trip . Also they deliver within a five mile radius . When the last time you and your family dined out and the server said Im sorry but we dont have that . You wont have that problem at the Dutchess Diner because if they have the ingredients the chefs will whip it right up . Just because you might not see it on the menu just ask. Guess, Mary, Jimmy and the staff are truly special people that make you feel youre coming home for Thanksgiving dinner with the warmth and love of family .

Great breakfast options wonderful and delightful waitstaff and hostess. Went to Poughkeepsie for the weekend and went to the kingdom of breakfast (DUTCHESS) both days. Sad that we didnt go back for lunch.
Food was good after waiting for an hour to be served after waiting indefinitely to put order in. Watch parties come and go and sat there waiting ridiculous never go there again

Ordered a gyro take out, got home no sauce for the gyro. Gave them a call let them know they forgot it and the manager personally brought the sauce to our door step 10 minutes away. That’s some good service I highly recommend.

Good food. Nice atmosphere. Nice staff. A bit pricey but for good quality. I ordered a competition burger. They have a variety of specialty burgers right now that members of their staff have created. I tried a Mexicali burger that was incredible, huge, and full of flavor, but needed a little salt, just a little. Black beans, corn, pepper jack cheese, Southwest seasonings, avocado slices, tomatoes which I really think should have been left off...so while the burger was expensive, it was worth it. The burger was huge, the fries were crispy and filled the plate. It was definitely good. And to top it off, they gave me a $5 certificate for voting on the burger. Which really made it much more worth it. Definitely a revisit in my future.

I have pictures of the most terrible ham egg and cheese that came out wrong with runny eggs I suggest nobody go to the Dutchess diner terrible experience dining in or take out I will never go there and when I complain to the owner and manager they acted like something was wrong with me rather than their food and instead of offering my meal to be on the house or return my money they just discarded me as if I was nothing very bad customer service never go there folks

The exterior and interior of the restaurant is flawless and the staff members are always cleaning to maintain that five star appearance. Fried tomato Benny was different and delicious. Senior meatloaf sandwich came with soup, coffee and dessert for $9.25 or so. Kid was happy with his mac and cheese and jello. Everyone is happy!
