What a fun store! We loved the tugboats in the harbor so we wanted some souvenirs to remember them and of course this shop had tons!! The clothes seemed to be good quality but there were many other interesting items, from Christmas ornaments to books to hats to beautiful fur mittens. We had fun shopping here and the owner was helpful as well. Portsmouth has a great downtown area and we hope to be back next year!

Nice quality products but the owner is downright rude. I’d had a similar experience with him a few years back and vowed to not go in there again. I gave it another shot yesterday and yup, he’s still rude. This time I was with my husband and he actually walked out and he’s pretty patient .

I recently visited Portsmouth and stopped in at Tugboat Alley. I found the merchandise to be top quality ( I purchased a long sleeve tee shirt that I am very satisfied with) and there is something for everyone. This is definitely not your average gift shop. The nautical theme is also very cool. The staff is very friendly and attentive but not overbearing. I highly recommend this establishment

My wife and I have been coming into this store for years. They have great stuff. They have a wide variety of nautical themed merchandise and some really nice NH touristy stuff. The owner is always willing to help and has went out of his way to insure we were satisfied.

Having been the first time Ive traveled to the east coast, the lovely lady who helped me here was kind and generous. She shared with me some history and told me where to go around town. There are not many people or places left like this. Thank you.

I visited most of the gift shops in Portsmouth last time I was there. This was the best one in the area. Great unique items.

I was so unimpressed and disheartened when the woman working today refused to let me use the store restroom that she had just come out of, despite the fact that I have been in multiple times AND had a $30 sweatshirt in my hand to purchase. She recommended I “run to the parking garage” a good 8 minute walk from the store. I had to leave and come back to buy my sweatshirt because I had to use the restroom so desperately. Needless to say, I will not be returning.
