I came here to shop today..I know my size and could have been and out. I walked up to see a sign outside that said by appointment only. So I went back to my car.. a couple minutes later I see a woman walk up, read the sign, talk to someone and then be let in. So I went back inside and I asked if they would accept another walk-in and was turned away; the woman in the photo saying No, sorry. But your welcome to go to our website to make an appointment. So I assumed maybe the woman before me had an appointment after all. BUT THEN another woman walked up, READ THE SIGN, talked to the same woman and was let in after me! Unbelievable!! This was one shop I thought was inclusive and really hope this has nothing to do with me being of a different race than those two women. Im very offended by this treatment and Im not sure Ill return.

Made an appointment for a fitting. After finding the correct sizing, I was able to find a bra, sports bra, and swim suit that fit well. Lots of trying on and pointers for different ways to wear bras. Confidence booster for sure and totally worth it.

The Pencil Test is the real deal. Incredibly knowledgeable staff and a vast inventory. The staff is so so nice and helpful, they’ll teach you a thing or two but never in a way that makes you feel bad. If you’ve ever had a bad experience bra shopping you need to try the Pencil Test.

I love this shop. They are great at fitting larger cup sizes, and I always leave happy with the bras I bought. Right now you have to make an appointment to get fitted, and of course wear a mask, to ensure the store doesnt get too crowded. The only thing I wish they could order a bra for you in a different color or size if they dont have it in stock.

People with larger breasts: you have a local option for great fitting lingerie and swimwear. Its so tough to find cute things, and they exist here! Ive always had great service, help with fittings, and honest opinions on fit/style from the staff here. They have really pretty lingerie and their sales are awesome.

Abby immediately got my size right after years of nursing babies and I was given so many options to try on, tips for getting a good fit and patience to help find the perfect bra. Just went today and for the first time in my life I was able to find not only one fitting beautiful bra but two! Abby was super accommodating and could fit you with just a look over. Ill never go anywhere else for a bra. Prices are around 50+ but there is no price on comfort when never having the right bra. I was nervous about the fitting but there was absolutely no reason to be! I love everything about this shop! The owner and staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and real. There were so many amazing bras to choose from! My problem was sticking to my budget. I finally found the right fit for myself, and the best selection around. I just kept finding things I wanted to buy. It is also perfect for my 14 year old daughters! One of them even got a bathing suit. We all love it, and wont be shopping for bras anywhere else!

There was a wait for the fitting rooms, but staff were friendly and polite and when my time came, I was fitted and found some really cute bras to take home! Oh baby lingerie definitely sized me wrong because they didn’t have my size and tried to convince me that these bras that were clearly too small were the right fit. Pencil test fitted me correctly and had plenty to chose from! My favorite was this blue bra that clasps in the front. I loved it 😍

17 weeks pregnant and none of my bras fit! I made an appointment and had a great experience with Renee. I was a 32DD pre-pregnancy, and just by looking at me Renee was able to tell I was a 32G. She brought a bunch of bras to try and I left with 3 amazingly comfortable bras (2 non-wire and 1 underwire) that actually hold me up! Yay!

I had an appointment today with Renee and my life has changed. Did you know you can be a size G and have a bra with NO wire?! I do now and Im never going anywhere else for undergarments ever again. Im happy with the price and quality.$45 off the sale rack and $60-$70 for my other ones. So many options for style and pricing you wont leave without one.

Yes!!! Came here to get a strapless bra for a photo shoot. this is my second time coming here and once again stellar service. They did not even have to measure me, they brought me a bra for size just to make sure that they had the right size, they did, and then brought me two choices for strapless bras, the second one worked! I am so happy with not only the service but how they are dealing with the pandemic.

I love this place! Up until finding this place I was the kind of person that shopped for bras as quickly as possible, and as infrequently as possible. But the people here are so lovely and kind that I will never shop for bras anywhere else! I was finally able to find a bra that actually fits, not just getting bigger bands when I ran out of cup sizes, and the fitter hit the nail on the head the very first try. I love every piece Ive gotten here, and they have all held up great! A little pricey, at least for me on a students budget, but Id rather make the investment and have a piece that I can wear for a long time, than have a bra that wears out in a month. I can not recommend this place enough!

This is the best place to find bras for those hard to fit sizes ie small band size and large cup size. Staff is amazingly helpful and they really know what they are doing. The only thing that would make this store better would be to open one in Salem.

This place is awesome. Was in Portland for a training and coworker said we had to stop at this store before heading home. I am glad she did. The lady who sized me first took one look at me and then asked me to wait. She grabbed a bra and said how does this one fit. No measuring, just by sight. It was perfect. She grabbed one up and one down next and the first one was the bra I had ever put on. Then she came in with more options in the same size. I ended up buying three bras total. and my favorite one is the first one that she presented to me. They dont work on commission and when I said I was not from the area they told me of the website to their brand of bras even though they dont get anything recognition of sending people there. Wonderful experience, Wonderful place. I will be back!

After my augmentation I had no idea what size I was. Renee fitted me in my new size in two attempts without me even having to undress. She then pulled no less than 50 bras in my size and assumed style (she was right) from both the regular and sale racks. I left with nine new bras without doing any searching myself. I highly recommend this place!

Walked in having worn the same size bra for years but needing a specialty bra for my brothers wedding. Apparently my actual bra size is 5 cup sizes larger and for the first time ever Im comfortable in my bra. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and made it an amazing experience. Prices are comparable for other large bras and they have a ton of fun and beautiful bras.

Ive been going here exclusively for bras for years. I went in yesterday for a refit and to stock up before I move. They are doing fittings by appointment right now and are doing a great job with distancing and sanitation practices.My fitter was awesome and helped me find all my favorites, plus a new style without an underwire. I was shocked by how supportive it was and it might be my new favorite! Ill miss you, pencil test! Im so happy that youve opened up online ordering because Im going to need it!

Finally found a bra that fits

Wow! The entire team is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The store has a huge selection of beautiful bras --- which, if you wear a large cup size, is very difficult to find! We started with a fitting, which didnt take much more than her eyeballing me with my t-shirt on. With just two tries, we find the perfect size (which is a COMPLETELY different size from what I was fitted in at Nordstrom). I left with two gorgeous, sexy bras and now look much better and hotter in a tight sweater! Thank you, ladies. Ill be back soon!!!

The service was great, the sales-folk very helpful, and the bras they had for me were comfortable...for a total of five months. After the four-month mark they became uncomfortable. After six months, they were unwearable. I expected to get longer for more than $60 per bra. (Yes, yes, I cared for each bra correctly.) Super sad.

Came in for my first bra fitting ever and was not disappointed!! I didn’t end up finding a bra that fit, but I left knowing my size, shape, and so much more that I’ll have no trouble finding one that does. At no point did I feel rushed or pushed in any one direction, and if one bra didn’t fit that’s okay there’s another you can try! If you aren’t sure what your looking for, or want to find something special, this is the place to go. Ask for Jenna!!

Wow, that’s all I can say. Other stores made me cry, didn’t carry my size, and didn’t really listen to my peculiar fitting needs (because they don’t have the bras in stock to do anything about it anyway). I didn’t get sold the bra that they “had in stock,” I was sold a bra that FITS. The very first bra they gave me to try was perfection, which proves that these ladies know their stuff. And she didn’t try to up sell me on the more expensive ones! I got the right one for me and amazing customer service. I am a customer for life.

They have a really broad range of sizes. The staff is super helpful. They do free fittings and they are really attentive to making sure you get a good fit. Everyone is very friendly and the bras they have are of good quality and very comfortable. This is the only place in town I go to when I need a bra.

This place is the actual greatest. They are bra wizards, and were able to size me accurately by more or less looking at me. Renee was the person who helped me. She listed to what I wanted in a bra, and was happy to assist me with getting more bras, as well as each bras fit. I will most certainly be coming back.

Their sizes start at D so I was not going to be buying anything. Still, knowing this, they gave me a thorough fitting and some very helpful advice. She even wrote me a list of bras to look for and where to find them. Im so grateful, and the woman who helped me was so knowledgeable and kind.Their selection looked beautiful, and if I could only fill any of them out I would buy their bras but you should if you wear between 28D and 44K.

Exemplary service! Whitney spent almost an hour helping me find a bra that ACTUALLY fit. I must have tried on 25+, and she patiently listened to me and helped me find a bra that I adore. She was working with other customers, and she managed to be attentive to everyone. Im extremely impressed, and I would highly recommend Pencil Test for any bra wearers in the D+ range (dont worry, they help you find what size you actually are). The prices were good (about what youd spend at Victorias Secret, but youll get something that really fits, not just whatever they can stuff you in).

LOVE this place!! I usually have a hard time finding a bra that fits me or one that fits AND is cute. Bra shopping usually takes forever and is such a pain - but not at this place!! Walked in the door and within a few minutes was properly fitted and given 15+ bras in different styles fitting my preferences and size. Sooo easy!! This is the best place to get fitted for bras. Period. Paragraph. I have a fairly unusual size that most stores dont carry, but when I was fitted at the Pencil Test last week they had twenty different style options for me to try on. All of the salespeople are extremely knowledgeable and courteous, and they always know the right questions to ask to guide you to the right purchase. For instance I didnt know that if your bra wire snaps it means your cup size is probably too small.The store space itself is bright, clean, and relaxed, and the fitting rooms are spacious. All of my current bras were purchased here, including my sports bra and bathing suit. Theyre all super cute, incredibly comfortable designs, and my daily comfort since I started shopping here has skyrocketed. Thank you, Pencil Test!

I finally went to The Pencil Test and it’s AMAZING!! I knew I was wearing the wrong bra size, which is no surprise. When I was fitted for the right bra size I was shocked at how good it felt and looked. I was genuinely surprised to find out I wear a 34 GG, not a 38 D/DD (that I thought was my size) AND the bras I was fitted with felt and looked great on. The sales people are not pushy and really know their stuff!They have my business from here on out. I wish I had gone here years ago.

I was just there, I got a couple of really comfortable bras, it was difficult for me to find a bra that fit me that wasnt underwire but they did it. They worked with me even though it was a hassle and Im personally trans, this was all in all a nice experience. They respected my preferred name and pronouns. I stopped in about two weeks ago to get fitted for new bras. The employee who helped me was extremely nice and helpful. She found a range of bras that fit properly after just sizing me up and having me try on one style. They have quite a selection of bras in larger sizes, which is what I was looking for, and the prices are pretty typical for quality lingerie. I ended up buying four of them and have been wearing them over the last couple weeks and they are so comfortable and make me look and feel amazing! Ill definitely be returning!

Very nice and helpful. Plus the selection of beautiful bras for big chests is always amazing. I drive a little over an hour but it’s worth it every time. You just can’t settle for anything less once you’ve been properly sized and you learn that bras don’t have to be uncomfortable.

Did not feel supported literally or figuratively.The fitting was a woman looking at me and guessing. When they decided, 4 bra sizes later, what my size was and asked if I was comfortable,  I said no. This was dismissed and I was told it was probably the bra style, but then also told, this is the only style in your size ...okay, so maybe the size is wrong? Nope this is your size! Okay.... (tries to panic choose between various unflattering old timey bras)I think it boils down to costumer service. The women working with me didnt have a conversation with me that was genuine or size and women inclusive, the service that was advertised. They talked about how big I was, laughing, talking about how they needed bigger bags for me or big girl needs bigger cups, and immediately assumed I wanted to minimize instead of celebrate. I still was never told definitively what my size was, and the selection was very rough. Maybe my expectations were too high, or I was too sensitive, having not been fit in a very long time. Either way, I just left feeling weird about myself.

I love this store!! The owner was able to fit me with a size I have only been able to find one other place in Portland, and was VERY helpful. She has a lot of useful information about sizing, and explanations about what will make your clothes look better. And, the bras are not expensive for what you normally pay in my size range. I have bought bras elsewhere that cost twice what I paid for one at Pencil Test.

Our original destination was Fredericks of Hollywood for Bras. When that fell through, we were given a recommendation for the Pencil Test. IT WAS THE BEST THING THAT COULD HAVE EVER HAPPENED!! Very friendly, knowledgeable staff and me an my girlfriends are HIGHLY satisfied with our purchases. The fit, comfort and selection was beyond words. I cannot be happier with my trip to The Pencil Test! After having a baby finding a bra for me was nearly impossible so I settled for wearing sports bras. Finally after looking into professional bra fitting services, I found this boutique and decided to check it out. Charlotte, one of the staff found me a perfectly fitting bra from taking just one look at me. It is the most comfortable bra I’ve had in a very long time and needless to say I will be back for more. Went to this shop after looking for a shop for big busted ladies. I found several reviews that all pointed to The Pencil Test. The owner there is AMAZING at what she does. Ive heard other ladies refer to her as the bra whisperer and its true. Trying to find a bra in my size is difficult enough, smaller band and larger cup, and I was on a search for a good sports bra so I could start a running regime.The store youll miss if youre not looking for it, but once I found it I knew I was in the right place. She fitted me quickly. She was very efficient and professional. She knew just by looking at me what I needed. The pricing was about average for bras and lingerie. Ill be going back in a couple weeks for regular bras this time and am glad I have found a good place with a reliable fitter.
