So yummy! Its a small coffee shop, but cozy and the staff are friendly! I told the cashier that I had never been here before, so she recommended the cafe de olla and I also got a spinach and cheese tamal. No regrets! So delicious! The coffee is spicy and sweet. I got it hot, but they sell bottled cold versions as well, which they suggested different ways to mix it to make it the different ways they drink it at home. The tamal is hot and very moist. I have never had it before, so unfortunately I dont have anything to compare it to, but I will definitely be back to try them all!

Walked in and was greeted immediately, very nice staff. The wall of iconic revolutionaries is awesome, they have a small table area, a lounging area, and a high seating with a bar area. Its all in a compact room but it doesnt feel cramped. Also this almond horchata latte was amazing. Gave me some memories of being in Guatemala.

Foodie find! This is a charming neighborhood coffee house with Mexican-inspired flavors.Stopped in the first time b/c it happened to be near our hotel. Got a horchatta latte that was so memorable we came back the next day to grab some breakfast for the road. The champurrado (like a chocolate-cinnamon oatmeal) was delicious and warmed me up inside. The tamales (we had the veggie and a mushroom-chipotle) were homemade. Every. Bite. Was. A. Joy. Flavorful salsa too. They also have chicken mole and other meat options. And the chocolat-chip muffin was also moist and tasty. The other items in the bakery case - including a really awesome looking flan - also looked tempting but I could feel myself gaining weight just by looking at this point.Highly recommend!

Friendly staff and quick service. Not your traditional empanada dough (they use more of a croissant dough which is more moist but a lot more flakey) but the spinach & potato is full of flavor. Their horchata is a little too sweet for me even with a shot of espresso, but great staff and a quiet, cozy place to get some work done for an hour.

Tamales de mole, chile verde and Blueberry?! Why not. Champurrado, Mexican hot chocolate and café, and the usual American stuff. Quaint and clean, seems a favorite of the working folk in the area, we were visiting the city for a week and accidentally found this place when getting of the bus. Simple, quick stop with a few surprising Mexican items reminiscent of grandmas kitchen . Shop keeper (maybe owner) looks like Frida Khalo. Not sure if intentional or coincidental but pleasant nonetheless.

Food is clearly frozen and reheated, yet overpriced. I have ordered pupusas and tamales and the ones sold here are by far the worst Ive had in Portland. Drinks are flavorless and overpriced as well. Maria has horrible customer service. Ive heard multiple accounts from fellow Latinxs that she is discriminatory against Black and Brown Latinxs, and will only be nice to white people (white Latinx and non-Latinx). Reposting because she deleted my previous comment (among other 1 star reviews), dont support this discriminatory business!

The place was interesting. I walk in and stood at the counter for at least 5 minutes before someone turned to me to ask if Ive been helped. There were a total of 5 customers all of which had been served yet they seem too busy to serve me or notice. I did not feel like I was welcome in the establishment but the good news is.. There see literally hundreds of coffee shops around. 3 stars is actually very generous considering how terrible the coffee tasted.

Great little coffee shop right in downtown, close to Portland State University campus. The South American take on coffee drinks is a wonderful flare that makes this coffee shop stand out among the hundreds.Hot drinks are flavourful, spicy and crafted with great care and passion. Food is quick to come out and is pretty tasty. Prices of everything are what you would expect of a downtown coffee shop. Nothing really cheap, but you can still get out with a drink and a quick bite for about ten bucks. There are a few tables and some lounge space, but overall the seating here is limited. You need to be comfortable with squeezing in where there is a seat or go during the slower hours.Extra props for the friendliness of the folks who run this place and for the eclectic music choices. This place is a must-visit if youre in the area and up for something beyond your standard Starbucks venti foamy whatever.

The Mexican Mocha is fantastic (as long as you like it a bit on the sweet side). The ham panzin (basically ham in slightly sweet bread) was tasty, but still a little frozen in the middle and a little overly moist on the bottom. The first time I actually left after waiting about 10 minutes in a mostly non-moving line, but I really wanted to give this place a chance so I went back another day. It would have been nice to have some [plain] staples posted for general reference.

Im only giving this review because the guy working this morning cheated me out of what Id ordered. He gave me an 8 or 12 oz Hazelnut White Chocolate Mocha, but charged me for a 16 oz drink. I dont know if he was having a bad morning or felt interrupted, but this is the first time Ive had a bad experience there. In fact, just a few days ago the woman working there was very kind and super friendly...and she made a great drink! The dude in the v-neck and cap could learn a lot from her about customer service and competency.

Terrible food. It seems like maybe they get their rolls from Food 4 Less. The young woman at the counter would not give me any guidance as to what they had for sale. I asked if the sandwiches on the bottom shelf were what was pictured on the wall she said no (they were). I told her I would be eating part of it here but to place in a to-go bag because I’d be leaving. There was no one ahead of me but instead of starting my food she cleaned and did other things. After a long time had passed I reminded her it did not need to be fully heated she said “I know” and then got the sandwich out of the fridge. After more time had passed I said please just give me the sandwich at whatever temp it is. She threw it in a bag and dropped the bag on the counter and turned around. I said “I’m never coming back here” and left. She FOLLOWED ME OUTSIDE AND STOOD IN MY WAY AGGRESSIVELY. She told me I should have been more clear I was in a hurry. I told her she needed to get out of my way, she was acting like she wanted to fight!Crazy. And I came in with a good mood and had tipped her $1 on a $3 sandwich, there was no reason for her nastiness. And the following me outside was threatening and beyond inappropriate.
