We CANNOT thank Kevin enough for helping us girls from Oahu, HI on getting my teen girl set up with her 1st skateboard. Do we have skate shops in Hawaii? Yeah, but they are like Zumiez or another shop like Billabong that’s mixed in with other things like clothes and very few options of boards .We have more surf shops than expertly crafted skateboards.Kevin patiently went over her experience, if it was more for cruising or tricks and based on being a novice, the size that would be suitable for her. He let her try different sizes as well. She got to pick out her design (god bless him she looked at a lot) and he went over piece by piece all the hardware she would need. He never tried to upsell anything. He was conscientious on price and gave ranges and explanation as to cost factors. He then built it for her in about 15 minutes. All in all it was much cheaper than this island girl thought it would be and she left thoroughly excited with it. Since we are visiting here from Hawaii, she even practiced it in the hotel room.The store was not busy for a Sunday morning and there were other staff ready and available to assist.I highly recommend this skate shop for all your skate needs and see Kevin. Thoroughly knowledgeable and super patient without trying to “make a sale”. We will definitely spread the word and we will surely come back on a future trip.

One of the handful of good snowboarding and skate shops in Portland or multnomah county for that matter. They carry the newest good snow gear at a good price. Ditch zumiez overpriced mediocrity and check out this spot. Sick gear great pricing and a staff that actually knows there stuff. Keep it up tactics portland needs you!

Got my deck and trucks online, pretty fast shipping for the time that it was the holidays. They also have a lot of decks to choose! Recommend tactics if your just getting into skating or even if your pro! Btw my deck arrived a week after I ordered it, dec 23!

Great place. Super friendly service and great selection.I was looking for a specific Longboard that was not in stock at the Pearl location but they transfer it from some of the other locations and got the board next day. I got to see and feel the board before buying it and as a plus, I walked around the pearl district.

Jen and the entire team at Tactics really know their snowboarding gear! Jen, helped me find the right boots (which took an hour!). We dubbed her The Boot Genie :) In addition, Ive purchased two boards and bindings from them over the years. Their prices are great! Tactics Portland is my favorite snowboard shop!

This is now the second time Ive ordered from Tactics, and would recommend it to anyone new to skateboarding like myself. They have great tutorials, their website is super straightforward, the build a complete feature works great, will definitely order from them again, responded quickly to questions when low on stock or was otherwise unable to complete an order the first time around.

Love this store. Everyone is so nice, they will go out of their way to make sure youre being taken care of. This is my go to shop for new boards.

I went to check out shoes and some boards as I havent skated in about 20 years. They were patient, helpful, and not the least bit condescending. All in all great experience.

Love this store. The staff is great. Ive purchased a snowboard and a pair of skate shoes. Each time the staff person there that helped me was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I came in right before they were closing to purchase my skate shoes and they were not pushy or rushy at all. Answered every question. I just wish I remembered the name of the sales associate that helped me. The stores selection is great too. If you have a chance get down there and check it out. It is fully stocked with an ample amount of items!

At the ripe age of 29, I decided to start my first sport with snowboarding. I had no idea what I wanted in a board, bindings, or anything. These guys stuck with me for hours, and Im talking 2-4 hours over two days. Bless their hearts, they are so patient, kind, and attentive. They didnt guilt me at all in any purchase and they informed me about brands and cheaper options.When I say guilt, I mean I was interested in a board they showed me, but my preferred size was not available. They ordered it that day to arrive later in the week, and they told me that in absolutely no way was I obligated to purchase it. Theyll just keep the board at the shop. It gave me time to think about it and check out other shops, but honestly I wanted that board and I wanted the rest of my gear from Tactics.I walked out with a new helmet, pair of bindings and boots, board, goggles, and a bag for my board! Definitely will come back for the amazing customer service!

Right when I came in I was confronted by a women that said there is a sign that says you need to wait for someone to come get you I didnt see that sign all I seen was it saying they were open she was very rude and when I was walking around looking she followed me everywhere making me feel very uncomfortable I asked her about a backpack and she told me I couldnt afford it at that point I was done with your store if I was you I would get ride of that women she very unprofessional.

Everyone was way nice and super knowledgeable. I am just getting back into skating after a few years and all the workers were great about getting me set up and giving me great information. Loved my experience!!!

We just bought some trucks to go with a board. This was for my son and he was trying to save money from his own earnings. He made the decision to try bullet trucks, hoping they would be ok. Unfortunately you have know way of knowing if a product is any good until you have a chance to actually try it out. Little did we know that there is essentially a no return policy. Who does that? After us spending several hundreds of dollars in the last few months with Tactics (5 complete boards) we will be taking our business strictly elsewhere. Customer service is the name of the game. Below is the exact response copied from the email just received. Btw this was purchased via website.“Unfortunately we cannot process a return for any product that is out of the packaging and worn/put together in any way”Buyer beware!!!Update:After sending a message up the ladder management made things better buy sending some better bushings.
