Want to say that we had talked with someone a great deal before we went in about a trade-in. My husband had to take a cab from the coast to get there because we didn’t have a vehicle we could use. It had just been in an accident. Ppl on the phone knew this but made it seem like they would still be interested even when we asked several times. So he went. The car we liked was there and we were interested in taking it. At the last moment they said a trade-in wasn’t possible. Because of the accident. Even though we had already talked about it with someone. We were already there so tried to make a cash offer and they wouldn’t budge at all for a manual 10-yr old car with high mileage. We wasted almost $1000 on cab fees alone. I wouldn’t recommend this dealership.

I love my new (to me) Fiat 500L. I drove down from Seattle and everything was exactly as described online. Nice salesman. Nice dealership. They returned texts and calls promptly.

As of 9/10/21Noah in finance and salesman Alan stepped up and made the purchase simple and easyStarted off this morning looking into a used Toyota sienna they had listed for a OK price.I then submitted asking if the vehcile was still availible and shortly after i received a call from a sales person named John Dowell confirming the vehicle was in stock and availible and asked when i wanted to come in...I then mentioned that i woulf prefer to get Pre approved prior to coming in that way i can get the hard part out of the way and was sent a link to apply for financingShortly after submitting i got a call that sounded like good news and that i should come in...AGAIN i wanted to know about financing prior and when i asked i got the the run around saying that i had to come in and couldnt tell me anything over the phone which is extremely odd in these days...I asked again can i get an idea and what im looking at for financing and he began to get extremely push saying only way to get numbers is to come in and only that waySo i then ended the call..Really surprised a dealer ship this large couldnt simply give me some basic in and more then likely make a quick sale on a used 130K miles van..Dont waste your time or dings to your credit unless you like the run around...Also this isnt the first vehicle ive bought from Tonkin dealerships and never been treated like this..

I have bought a lot of cars, and quite a few from Ron Tonkin dealerships. When we went to look at and ultimately purchased a FIAT last fall (2020), I found the one I wanted at Tonkin. The couple good parts of this experience were that they did fill my gas tank & honored my request to not wash the car.Negative part of my experience with salesman Ethan: I had to push and push for him to locate my cars second key (which is important), and he sold me the car without an owners manual despite it being only 1 year old and less than 5K miles.Probably worst of all was being lied to about the cars accident history ABSOLUTELY having a negative impact on it’s value. I did get the car fax which showed the damage history. When I then said this should lower the blue book value and what I pay he refused to take that into account or adjust the price. It wasn’t until after I already bought the car and was looking into this more where I learned an honest sales person and dealership knows an accident affects value and should adjust the price accordingly.Well folks, I’ll let you make up your own mind about how ethically Ethan works. And about the dealership who employs him.

Called to see if I needed an appointment for what I needed on my car and was told no. Checked the hours on their website and google which both showed open on Saturday. Went in and the service department was closed when I asked about it was treated in the most condescending manner. I suggested they update their google hours and condescendingly was told it’s impossible to do and I should’ve called - Well I did call and feel like at that point they should have told me their hours changed. Also, I have updated google hours and websites at every place I have worked and it’s not hard. It just takes caring about your customers. I love my car, but once my service contract on this car is over I won’t be going back here and I when I need a new car I’ll be going somewhere where they care about their customers. They also said that Covid rules were making it so they can’t have more hours, I would think that they would need more hours to give their employees the opportunity to work, so that seemed a little like BS to me and since three employee were huddled around one desk they clearly don’t care about social distancing and Covid rules.

The car did not come with a backup cam even though it was advertised as having one. One headlight was out upon delivery. They did reinburse for the headlight but not the camera.Boasted about how good the charge is on my car even though its a few years old. The charge it had wasnt good and they reassured me to charge it up and THAT charge would be much better. My first full charge has only given me 25 miles. I will not buy here again. Find another dealer for electric cars. Worst experience Ive ever had at a dealership. I feel taken advantage of and now stuck with an electric car with horrible mileage that I really wont be able to drive anywhere besides to and from work because of how bad the charge is.

John D saved our day. We drove 3 hours from the central coast to purchase 2 vehicles from another Portland area dealership. Our planned day had gone completely awry when we were misguided at another dealership on our second vehicle, while signing on the first vehicle. After driving to the Fiat dealership at last notice while explaining the situation via phone, then only finishing the test drive about 15 minutes prior to Fiat closing, John stayed 1.5 hours after his shift to ensure our day ended with nothing but smiles (not to mention his sales and finance manager who also stayed after-hours!). We left with our 2nd vehicle. Id gladly drive 3 hours in the years to come to give them my trade and future business! John saved the day and was able to score and save a 2nd sale for the Tonkin family of dealers, albeit not at the same dealership as the first. John renewed our faith in the kind of amazing person any dealership should be proud to employ.

The worse service I ever had receive on the part department. I call 3 times and they hand off on my calls, and didnt care of taking care of answerings my question about parts we order 3 weeks ago.

We worked with Noah to purchase a used Honda van. The experience was very friendly, low pressure, and informative. When we told Noah we had another appointment to see cars at other places he was very understanding and did not pressure us to stay and make a decision. When we ultimately decided Tonkin Fiat had the van for us, they gave us a good deal and had the paperwork ready to go. We bought our car in under an hour. Overall we are very pleased with our vehicle and the experience.

I had a great experience here and am very happy with my new Fiat 500x.Keili graciously drove all the way out to Forest Grove to pick me up, as my Mini Cooper (previous car) was in an accident that morning- so I was stranded. I’d been looking at the 500x for weeks, so the accident gave me the opportunity to get it sooner than anticipated.Keili and the finance department worked with me to adjust my down payment, so I could pay it in a couple weeks (via post dated check) when I was due to receive a stock windfall.Everything went perfectly smooth. I drove away with a beautiful new 500x. My down payment check is being processing today, and I received my plates in the mail yesterday. This would have been my first experience with this dealership, but it didnt happen. I got online early on the morning of 1/24/21 about a vehicle purchase. At 10:14 AM I received an e-mail and a text from one of the sales representatives. This same sales person even gave me a call at 10:14AM as well. All was really going great and we discussed a deal. This person said he would get back with me and let me know. I asked him at this time if there was anything wrong with the car and he stated that the bumper had some damage and he would send me a picture. So at around 3:20PM I called and spoke with this sales representitve and ask what was happening. He told me that they could not except what was offered and that his sales partener had someone else that was coming in to look at this same car. So I made another offer and told him to discuss it with his boss and get back with me as soon as possible. At 3:58PM I called back and this sales persons said they had not made a decision yet and that the other person interested in this vehicle was there looking at it. This is the same vehicle that I had been wanting to purchase since 10:14 AM that morning. I told this sales person that this isnt right and that Id been waiting for a call all day from you and that this deal should have been done and overwith. This sales representative told me that I was called and a message was left. I said BS, you never called and there is no messages or call from you on my phone. So I asked, is this how you work up deals with customers and what happened next is this sales representative of Ron Tonkin Fiat hung up on me. Wow, what a truly enjoyable experience. I had been lied to since 10:14 AM this morning and then again when I returned the call 5 hours later. I really hope this helps someone that is attempting to purchase a vehicle from this dealership.Regards, Robert Loiacono

After a month of shopping around and dealing with the stereotypical shady car salesmen, the customer service at Tonkin Fiat was a welcome breath of fresh air. The vehicle I was interested in was pulled to the front and warmed up by the time I had arrived. Alan was ready and knowledgeable about all the features on the car and extremely courteous through the entire transaction. Negotiations were handled in a way that was respectful of my time and done without pressure. A very pleasant experience all around!

Purchased a 2014 f150 in July - Worked with Alan Bradway.Truck looked great, had a slight sputter on start up. When addressed, Alan reassured us the battery was a bit low, however, no other known mechanical issues that we should be aware of. Alan mentions the basics have been done - oil change, fluids topd off... interior detail.....etc...We proceed to the typical cat/mouse shenanigans with the financing. . . i recommend having your financing done ahead of time. I was pre-approved at 2.49% -- Alan and his team try giving me 5%. wasnt happening.We go home. Not more than a week, maybe less, goes by and the truck wont start. We test the battery...its good. Its the STARTER. We drain the oil....thick & dark as mud.I call the lot- they had the starter already ordered, and it just came in! that tells me ALAN KNEW THIS INFORMATION. Scheduled the repair (at no cost of course) and was reimbursed the new oil i had to put in (still waiting on that check....3 months later) THE FINALE- i get a bill in the mail for DMV fees that were miscalcd. womp womp.Love the Truck- disappointed with the situation is an understatement. NOAH is the man. he has helped and communicated with us this whole time- Meanwhile, Alan is hiding out somewhere. lol. WORK WITH NOAH. Alan obviously doesnt care about you.

Interesting experience. Test drove a wonderful car on Tuesday. Communicated several times with the salesman over the next day and a half. Came to the decision I wanted it on Thursday morning after reviewing my other options around town. Negotiated and came to an agreement on the phone. Both parties accepted. Excitement, congratulations the whole nine yards. Planned on picking it up Friday out of agreed upon time and was told that wasn’t an issue. Got a call Thursday evening that the vehicle had been sold. I was told it was a communication issue between salesmen. We had gone in looking for a 2016 sti, it was a great deal and from what we were told there were people trying to get it as well! Noah let me test drive it and I was in love! We had a newborn and a 3 year old at the time and he was very patient trying to get us financing for the car, ending up getting and and I think about a week later we had to bring it back because of some bad brakes. We were looking to just get those done and they ended up even booking us up with new tires! It was an awesome experience and he made sure they took care of us. I upped it to 3 stars, because they tried their best given that their hands are tied by corporate. Byron gave it his best, changed one engine mount, but in realty both mounts and the transmission mount needed to be changed in order for this car to stop vibrating like a 70s cheap motel bed. I was going to take it back, but I give up. Had enough and I just dont care anymore. One of these days this car will vibrate itself into pieces, I swear.

Alan was very helpful at making our transaction as smooth as possible!!!! We got a good price from the GM. However, we have now found out the car was very poorly inspected. It came with the wrong size of windshield wipers, bad battery, and no brake lights. All of this cost more than $200 dollars in less than two weeks after getting the car. No wonder they claimed they didn’t save their inspection documents.

I bought my 2013 Fiat here in 2013. I also bought a package that included oil changes that were very thorough; they checked everything and even vacuumed my car out. When that package ended, I still got my oil changed here, but the service became VERY different. They changed my oil, but did not check anything else and its not a big deal that they also did not vacuum anymore. What is making me give Tonkin Fiat Service department 2 stars is the fact that on there website, it claims that many things come with an oil change, when actually they do not. For example, and air conditioner check and windshield wipers. I had those things checked off as needing to be looked at and the charge for them was ridiculous---this AFTER is states on the website that they are included in the oil change. The tone of the lady helping me was incredibly snarky and condescending even when I mentioned that the website is wrong. I am done with the service department at FIAT and am happily elsewhere and treated with respect.

Today I bought a used Volvo from Matt Kim at Tonkin Fiat. I got the price that was appreciated. He took care of the details of the purchase and delivered the car to Salem. Thats right; he and another guy drove it to my home 65 mile away. And when there was a miscommunication he resolved the issue and I was a happy camper. The experience I judge to be terrific. Tonkin places fake ads on Facebook marketplace for nice vehicles that are listed for $1000 -$2000 when they are actually MUCH more after calling.

I have nothing to say but positive and great things about this place and the people who work there. Every single person I talked to was full of personality, polite, and professional. Two employees that I now consider friends, Jeanelle and Keili, helped me out more than I could ever imagine. Whether it was advice, keeping me company while I waited, or even getting me food (sushi, which was amazing) while I waited to fill out paperwork. I couldnt have asked for a better experience at a dealership. Thanks!

I was looking for a Alfa Romeo Giulia to purchase in California but everything was either overpriced, not well equipped, or the dealerships were just horrible. As I searched every day to see whats available, I found a beautiful Giulia that was the exact spec I wanted. I contacted Tonkin Alfa Romeo through email and was contacted shortly by Alan letting me know that he wasnt at work but he will have a colleague send me pictures. Next morning, a gentleman by the name of Noah sent pictures and a video of the car.  I explained to him my situation and how I would be able to come in 2 weeks due to work/school.  He said that isnt an issue as long as a deposit is made on the vehicle. We worked out a deal and a deposit was placed on the car. Fast forward to a few days ago, I flew in and Noah even offered to pick me up from the airport which was very convenient. He allowed me to drive the vehicle on the way back to the dealership and explained all of the options the car had and how to use them.  When we got  to the dealership, all of the paperwork was ready for us and the entire process took roughly 10 min (I am not over exaggerating) . This dealership is by far the best one I have dealt with thus far and  Noah truly went above and beyond to make sure the car was cleaned and all of my questions were answered!  I wish these guys were located  in bay area instead of Portland!

Today I brought my car in for a servicing. As I sat in the waiting area, a man who appeared to be a manager named Jack was yelling, cursing and pacing the room. This was how he was treating his staff! He nearly had a girl in tears! One staff member walked over to me and apologized. This is a horrible example of management. This went on for over half an hour. I almost jumped in I was so horrified at Jacks behavior. Tonkin may need to reevaluate this man. Businesses need leaders, not condescending jerks who dont know how to properly guide their team. I was so embarrassed for the rest of the team.

Sales staff are there to sell cars but seemed less predatory than others weve experienced. Alan (I hope I got his name right because I dont have anything with his name on it) was very helpful and, more importantly, laid back. He let us buy the car rather than sell us a car. We bought a used 4Runner and are still learning how to use that thing that used to be called a radio. Why 4 stars and not 5? - Tonkins policy of not selling used cars with a full tank of gas.

I was given Alan Bradways name as a recommendation from a friend. I called ahead and we went over what I was looking for. I wanted a used Honda in a certain range. Alan had three to choose from, but I loved the first one we drove. It didnt take long to get a price we agreed on and I was done. He paired my phone to the car and went over everything before I headed home. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a new or used car!

This is definitely the dealer to do business with. The service and sales department are top notch, they have all been friendly, caring and patient. Their techs are excellent, exceedingly helpful and knowing how to fix any issues that have come up. If you have questions, the entire staff is not afraid to research for the correct answers; when was the last time you found a dealership like that? When you look to buy a car, there is no pressure and you are left with the attitude this is your choice with time calmly and informatively spent. After service, the car comes back to you cleaned and ready to go.My 21 year old son also takes his Fiat Sport in for servicing, he is treated with the same respect and courtesy, very cool!This whole dimension speaks volumes to the top down management and quality of personnel in place...
